Proverbs 30

1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,

Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.

I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.

Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:

Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.

11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:

16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.

17 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

18 There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:

19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.

20 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

21 For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear:

22 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;

23 For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:

25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;

26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;

27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;

28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.

29 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:

30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

  1. 32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

    If you have lifted yourself higher than you should, even the slightest, We should always keep ourselves humble.
    A spirit of humility is always on our side.

    2 Chronicles 7: 14 If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray.

    We as the people of God need to understand the importance of being humble, God even hates a proud look. My prayer everyday is God let me humble myself. I never want to lift myself up to where I think I am better than I am. I am what I am by the grace of God!

    Please do not wait and make God humble you which he can.

    GOD BLESS POFW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. 11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

    It appears that he is describing our generation in these scriptures, but what can we do about it?

    2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
    14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

  3. If you’re dumb enough to call attention to yourself by offending people and making rude gestures, Don’t be surprised if someone bloodies your nose. Churned milk turns into butter; riled emotions turn into fist fights. (Proverbs 30:32, 33 MSG)

    Please just KEEP your mouth closed!!!
    Some people don’t know when to stop talking. You hear them speak but you’re not truly listening. They don’t realize that the more they talk, the further you want to be from them.
    The words that are coming out of their mouth is like poison. These are the type of people I want nothing to do with.
    Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverbs 18:21 KJV)

  4. 33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

    Amen. Dont get mad. Get happy. We are redeemed, even if we dont feel like we are WE ARE!!! In Jesus Name. Thank u Jesus.

  5. I WILL PRAISE THE LORD AT ALL TIMES AND HIS WORSHIP SHALL CONTINUALLY
    BE IN MY MOUTH!!!!!!!!
    ❤❤❤❤❤PRAISE GOD!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
    you alone are GOD, and i need you………
    30:5Every word of GOD is pure:he is
    A shield unto them that put their trust in him.
    ——-
    AMEN! sometimes we have the everything right and it seems that nothing good is going on,we just need to – wait upon The Lord patiencely- he is our shield, we will be protected because we have put our trust in him. It’s just a matter of time.
    ——-

    30:6 add thou not unto his words
    Lest he reproved thee,and thou be found
    A liar.
    —-
    Do we think ALMIGHTY GOD need our help?
    Were we there when he created the world and made his rules ?
    Didn’t he made everything perfect?
    A bit here and bit there and we start changing what he said at first, he is GOD, he knew what he was doing since the begining and does not need our input, we just need to obey and be wise to understand where HE is coming from.

  6. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

    Shield – a broad piece of armor, varying widely in form and size, carried apart from the body, usually on the left arm, as a defense against swords, lances, arrows, ; a device, often of lightweight plastic, used to protect from rocks and other thrown objects; a thing that protects.

    The Word of God is alive and very effective if we will apply it. We can use it as it was meant to be, to build up our faith, to instill wisdom and knowledge in our lives, daily guidance and instruction, and as a shield. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him, but we have to know the word and use it. It is like a sword cutting asunder every doubt and negative word that the enemies of this world might speak against. We must get in the Word. Uncover it’s truths and promises and speak it into our lives.

  7. THE MYSTERIES OF NATURE

    5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

    Most of us can relate to Agur’s confession here in Chapter 30. He identifies several mysteries of nature that inspire us.

    The ant, the coney, the locust, the spider, the lion, the greyhound and the goat.

    There are mysteries, inspiration and wisdom through life lessons in every thing that GOD made.

    The FINAL factor in everything is found in verse 5.

    ***EVERY WORD OF GOD IS PURE***

    As we learn to TRUST GOD such as these illustrations of nature, we find LIFE and PROTECTION in JESUS and the pavilion of HIS WORD.

    Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

    FEAR GOD = TRUST GOD, this is where the mysteries are an inspiration, we have so much more to gain or lose that any other creature.

  8. 8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

    Can we truly ask the Lord for just enough? Not an execess but just enough. I believe it is part of being human to desire more than we actually need. One of the seven sins warns us against excess. What a great concept to only desire what we truly need.

    As i sit at this graduation ceremony i can appreciate the concept. I want so much for my daughter. I want her to have a harvard education, drive a rolls royce and live in a mansion. However, i believe my true desire is for her to simply be happy and blesed by the Lord. If Jesus is truly our desire he will supply our needs.

    It is sometimes hard to keep my eye on the true target but i must learn to train my focus.

    Generation

    11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

    12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

    13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

    14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

    What generation will we be known as. Jesus called the Pharisees a generation of snakes and vipers. If we live dedicated lives to God we will receive generational blessings! We impact the next generation by making ours the best it can be.

    Deuteronomy 7:9
    Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

  10. Fire Up Your Leadership
    with Vision

    Every promise of God proves true;
    he protects everyone who runs to him for help.
    Proverbs 30:5 (The Message)

    Where does a leader’s vision come from ? To find your vision, you must listen to…….
    The Inner Voice: Vision starts within
    The Unhappy Voice: Where does inspiration for great ideas come from? From noticing what does’nt work.No great leader un history has fought to prevent change.
    The Successful Voice: Nobody can accomplish great things alone. If you want to lead others to greatness, find a good mentor, an advisor who can help you sharpen your vision.
    The Higher Voice: Don’t let your vision be confined by your own limited capabilities. A truly valuable vision must have God in it. Only He knows what you’re really capable of. Have you looked beyond yourself, even beyond your own lifetime as you’ve sought your vision? If not , you may be missing the true potential of your life.

  11. 25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;

    The bible says learn from the ants, they are hard workers

    • They never stop preparing for what is to come, without even knowing what the next season will being fourth they waste no days while preparing for the next season…. What are we doing to prepare for the next season?

  12. KEEP CALM AND OUIET

    32-33
    If you are such a godless fool as to honor yourself

    or if you scheme

    you better put your hand ovefr your mouth

    as churning milk produces butter and puching a nosre produces blood so stiring up anger produces a fight

  13. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

    Every word of God is pure… I love that. There is a lot of emphasis on the things that we say all throughout proverbs. It tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. That we can build up or destroy. However, the wonderful Words of God are pure. They are light, the are a shield, they are alive, they give life. The psalmist says; thy word is a lamp unto my feet. The Words of the Lord give protection and bless.
    In psalm 19 says:
    8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart:
    the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
    In verse 11
    Moreover by them is thy servant warned:
    and in keeping of them there is great reward.

    There is great blessing in the Words of the Lord. They are more powerful than anything I’ve ever know. My prayer is this:
    14 Let the words of my mouth,
    and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight,
    O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

  14. Bad mouth…
    32 If thou hast done fooiishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.
    Im sorry Lord for my bad mouth. Thank u Lord for speaking pure Words to me today.

  15. ILove to eat the word

    5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

    Thank you Lord for protecting me and my family.

    Sorry everyone for the short blog,

  16. 32 If you have been a fool by being proud or plotting evil, don’t brag about it — cover your mouth with your hand in shame. 33 As the beating of cream yields butter, and a blow to the nose causes bleeding, so anger causes quarrels. NLT

    We live in a world that someone had rather make something up on someone or lie about someone to cause grief. Why? They have let sin into the camp. God help me to be all I can be for your kingdom. If you are hanging around someone and they are plotting evil against someone or talking about someone change who you hang with.

  17. This chapter illustrates place. One must be mindful of one’s self, else one could become too full of self; “There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  18. v5 Every word of GOD is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

    We can put our trust in GOD because HIS WORD is true and reliable from the beginning , enlightening , and guiding and wonderful .

  19. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

    The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. -Psalms 12:6

    The word of God set us free, gives us direction and cause us to be victorious in this world and the next.

  20. Be prepared

    25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer

    Work hard and be prepared for the unexpected just as the ants do. Even people who are weak can survive by being prepared.

    Pray, fast, obey, and last.

  21. Losing Your Vision

    An eye that disdains a father and despises a mother— that eye will be plucked out by wild vultures and consumed by young eagles. (Proverbs 30:17 MSG)

    Disrespecting our father and mother will cost us our vision. These applies to our spiritual father and mother too.

    Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in complete darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 AMP)

  22. Courage

    30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

    Standing up when the enemy is against you. Standing for what is right. This is a testimony to what is happening in my life. Thank you Jesus for your word. For it is on time.

  23. Agur’s Prayer

    7 Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
    8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
    9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

    This prayer, offered by the wise man Agur, is one we all could use daily to keep our focus on God and our priorities in balance. How many of us pray with such humility and surrender ..”God, don’t give me any more or less than I need, for I know my own frality of character: I’m likely to be self-satisfiied with excess and self-seeking with lack. Therefore, give me only what you know I need in order to love and serve you well.” Such a posture in prayer requires trust on the goodness and generosity of God and will, without a doubt, be honored and rewarded by him. Whenever Israel was being lead through the desert, they were provided manna (Ex 16:16:21) and taught not to gather too much or not enough. Excess displays lack reliance of God, and disobedience. Grabbing too little shows a poverty state of mind, or a rejecting disobedience. Manna was a blessing and provision, He still provides for us today physically and spiritually. “Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.” (Ps 54:4). We now have better promises too in store ..” To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.” (Rev 2:17).
    He is our living manna.

  24. Heart of the Lion

    30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

    The lion’s way reminds me of the opposite of the slothful:

    Proverbs 22:13
    The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.

    The lion goes with commitment and purpose, the slothful holds back with excuses. Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and He shows us in the Word His commitment and purposefulness. He is the Author of vision and does not simply dream but puts it into action.

    Jeremiah 29:11
    For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

    God has purpose for our life, will we commit to His purpose and let His dream come alive in us? We can go through life vacillating and questioning or we can let God create in us the heart of the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

  25. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

    God’s word is not tainted. When he speaks you get the word in it’s purest form. We must remember the true word of God is undefiled and holy.

  26. Lord your grace is sufficient to me. I don’t need too much nor too little to satisfy me. May your will be done Lord. Bless me Lord wth knowledge, wisdom and understanding, I want to shine for you.

  27. In this scripture, if you have thought evil cover your mouth. In other words “Hush”….there is power in that tongue. Life or Death!

    “Now”……

  28. HALELUJAH!!! JESUS!!!
    11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
    SANTO SANTO SANTO!!!
    Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise)
    Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
    WELL A COMMANDMENT IS MEANT TO BE OBEYED!!! EVEN IF YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE IT, EVEN IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND? EVEN IF YOUR MAD………. OBEY!!! GOD IS OF ORDER!!! WHEN WE OBEY GOD BLESSES US !!!
    I WILL OBEY LORD !!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!
    HALELUJAH!!!

  29. Verse 5 AMP “Every word of God is tried and purified; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.” Trust in the true Word of God.

    Verse 33 CEV “If you churn milk you get butter; if you pound on your nose, you get blood—and if you stay angry, you get in trouble.” The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:23-27 CEV “Let the Spirit change your way of thinking and make you into a new person. You were created to be like God, and so you must please him and be truly holy. We are part of the same body. Stop lying and start telling each other the truth. Don’t get so angry that you sin. Don’t go to bed angry and don’t give the devil a chance.”

  30. Never second best

    The believer replied, “Every promise of God proves true; he protects everyone who runs to him for help. So don’t second-guess him; he might take you to task and show up your lies.” (Proverbs 30:5, 6 MSG)

    God should never be second. He is the first! When you are in need He should be the first on your mind to call for aid. God will always provide; ask and ye shall recieve!

  31. Just like the ants
    The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; (Proverbs 30:25 KJV)

    Ants work hard. They carry HEAVY amounts of weight. They store food for the winter months when none can be found. The work tirelessly when it is not cold or rainy. They defend their mound with greatness. In the winter the go deep into the ground and huddle together to keep warm enough to live.

    We need to be ants in our church. We need to WORK hard. We need to carry HEAVY burdens for our ministries. We need to eat of the word constantly so that it is stirred up in us for those times when we go into a cold season in life. We need to defend the church with greatness through prayer and fasting. And we NEED to stick together to help others make it through the rough times so they don’t die.

    Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:3 KJV)
    Work together and be an ant.
