Psalm Chapter 22

Pray Today

Acts 5:14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Fort Worth, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Psalm 22

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts.

10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

21 Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

28 For the kingdom is the Lord’s: and he is the governor among the nations.

29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

  1. Verses 27-28 MSG “From the four corners of the earth people are coming to their senses, are running back to God. Long-lost families are falling on their faces before him. God has taken charge; from now on he has the last word.” We must ReVIVE and be ReADY. Luke 21:36 AMP says “But keep alert at all times [be attentive and ReADY], praying that you may have the strength and ability [to be found worthy and] to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man [at His coming].”

  2. 1. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

    8. He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

    16. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

    18. They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

    Matthew 27:

    35. And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

    43. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

    46. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

No wonder God considered David a man after His own heart!

  3. 26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

It is personal pride that creates a thick wall between a person and the Lord. When a person has a proper perspective they portray a meek attitude, which allows a relationship with Jesus.

  4. Psalm 22: 27 [ KJV] All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord ,and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

We must be ready at all times, God is our rescuer, and without God’s help the nation could not have survived the onslaught of its enemies.

To prepare ourselves, pray for strength to stay alert for the coming of the Lord.

    Thank you Jesus.

  5. 24 NLT“For He has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned His back on them, but has listened to their cries for help.”
    ‭‭

God does hear us when we cry out to Him. God will never abandon His children. We may not see Him or understand what He is doing for us. But we can trust that He is always in control.

  6. vs-1

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring.

“Why?” David merely felt forsaken by God, but Christ was literally abandoned by Him. In history’s most awesome moment God the Father withdrew His presence from the Son; the Holy One isolated Himself from one who at that instant in time became sin for us.

  7. 11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

Sometimes it can feel you’re all alone against the world. It can seem like everything is stacked against you, but those are the times that we can lean on the Lord and trust that he is near to us and that it will pass. If we have God then we have everything on our side

  8. Psalm 22:27,28 From the four corners of the earth people are coming to their senses, are running back to God.
    Long-lost families are falling on their faces before him. God has taken charge;
from now on he has the last word.

    Acts 26:18-20
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me…

    Zechariah 14:9
On that day the LORD will become King over all the earth–the LORD alone, and His name alone.

    Amen!

  9. But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts.

10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

I have become a man, but it was God who had brought me forth from the world. It was God who had preserved me during the fragile days of my infancy. It was God who had sustained me in my boyhood and young manhood. Now as an adulthood, I appeal to God for endurance to finish this race all the way.

  10. Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord.Psalms 22:30 NLThttps://bible.com/bible/116/psa.22.30.NLT

Amen and Amen!!! Yes I receive this for our future generations!!!!

  11. 23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

Praise him no matter what is happening in our lives because he hears our prayers and knows the need. He will answer in his timing, not ours. Wait on the Lord and rejoice in advance…the answer is on the way.

  12. 🅁🄴🅅🄸🅅🄴

David turned into prophet right here as he pens the very clear prophecy of the coming sufferings of Messiah.

Acts 2:29 (KJV) Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne

We see in the above scripture from the book of Acts, that the Apostle Peter links David to being a prophet and declares that the Jews needed to accept the fact that Jesus fulfilled the prophecy completely. The reason the Jews could not receive the prophecy is because they thought it was David speaking poetically about his own sufferings. We all need to reconsider some of the things in the bible that we think are just poetic.

  13. TLB – 30 Our children too shall serve him, for they shall hear from us about the wonders of the Lord; 31 generations yet unborn shall hear of all the miracles he did for us.

What are we talking about around our children? Are they hearing the good things of God? Are they hearing positive things about serving and living for God? Are they seeing the joy of the Lord evident in us as we live for Him?

Our actions speak louder than words, yet our words and our actions must match. Our words have power and they will outlive us so we must ensure that we are speaking and living what we say so that our children have a desire to serve the Lord.

  14. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season and am not silent.

I think we’ve all gone through a time or two with a dark cloud over our head. We think that God has forgotten our prayer or never heard them. Will this day ever end? Will God hear me, will He answer? Where is our faith? God knows our needs even before we do. It is in His timing, even when it seems endless, there is an end to it. We need to turn that stormy, dark cloud into a sunny, bright day waiting upon the Lord with praises and a song. Look for the “son”shine, see the blessings that are already there, be thankful for all you have and trust that the Lord hears you even when He is silent for a season. 🌞Have a blessed day, all of you.

  15. ReVIVE

    THE POWER OF PRAISE

3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

A fresh ReMINDER of THE POWER OF PRAISE will ReVIVE our passion and desire to PRAISE.

Lets first look at the word

INHABITEST – H3427 – yâshab, yaw-shab’; a primitive root; properly, to sit down (specifically as judge. in ambush, in quiet); by implication, to dwell, to remain; causatively, to settle, to marry:—(make to) abide(-ing), continue, (cause to, make to) dwell(-ing), ease self, endure, establish, × fail, habitation, haunt, (make to) inhabit(-ant), make to keep (house), lurking, × marry(-ing), (bring again to) place, remain, return, seat, set(-tle), (down-) sit(-down, still, -ting down, -ting (place) -uate), take, tarry.

INHABITEST – 1: to occupy as a place of settled residence or habitat : live in inhabit a small house
2: to be present in or occupy in any manner or form

When I PRAISE JESUS. I invite and host in my being, body and life the KING of Glory. Not only does JESUS show UP, JESUS literally “ENTHRONES” Himself in my life to judge everything alleged by satan or man.

When I PRAISE JESUS I enter the court of JESUS and invite HIM to rule in my life on behalf of HIS Kingdom.

  16. 23You who fear the LORD, praise Him!

All descendants of Jacob, honor Him!

All offspring of Israel, revere Him
    ————-

Praise him, praise him in the morning

in the noontime, even when the sun goes dow, praise him.🙌🏼

    thank him

    Exult him

    talk to him

    [make his name bigger]
    remember his marvelous good works

    think about his ways

    ponder on his word

bring about moments spent with him

    declare what he has done

    speak in faith.
The Lord is greatly to be PRAISE!!!

  17. Psalm 22

My god, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

We must all remember Gods time is not always our time. We live in a microwave society and want things done, now! Well, God is not Santa Claus whom we ask for things and get them. He knows our needs. He has kept me fed, with a roof over our head and basic needs are met. He has never left my side. I am grateful for all he does for me and I know he is still here for me.

Thank you Jesus for this day.

  18. Psalms 22:6-7 (AMP), “6) But I am (treated as) a worm (insignificant and powerless) and not a man; I am the scorn of men and despised by the people. 7) All who see me laugh at me and mock me; They (insultingly) open their lips, they shake their head, saying,…”

After last nights message on “More Than Grasshoppers” (Excellent Message), verse 6 caught my attention. David said, “I am a worm.” Yes people may make us feel like a Grasshopper/Worm. They may make us feel insignificant, despise us, laugh at us, mock us, insult us, and shake their heads at us, BUT… when We Know Who We Are In JESUS, we are More Than Grasshoppers/Worms. We Are OVERCOMERS Through Our FAITH! We Are MORE THAN CONQUERERS! We Are VICTORIOUS!

Thank You JESUS that we are More Than Grasshoppers/Worms, we are MORE THAN CONQUERERS!!!

  19. ‭Psalms 22:10 NLT‬
I was thrust into your arms at my birth. You have been my God from the moment I was born.

    From my mother’s womb
    You have chosen me
    Love has called my name
    I’ve been born again
    Into Your family
Your blood flows through my veins
    You split the sea
So I could walk right through it
My fears are drowned in perfect love
    You rescued me
So I could stand and say
I am a child of God
    I am surrounded
By the arms of the Father

  20. “For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath he hid his face from him; But when he cried unto him, he heard.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭22‬:‭24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

During times of trial, it can often feel like God doesn’t hear us and help is out of reach. I’ve experienced many days where I felt completely alone. Yet, we are never truly alone. God has His perfect timing, and assistance is always closer than we think.

“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s much easier to read about faith than to put it into practice. What happens when we must apply scripture to our daily lives? Patience can be challenging, but living a life of belief and faithfully waiting on the Lord is worth the crowning glory He promises when we complete this race.

  21. 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

A prayer and a praise. One can almost feel the psalmist as he pours his heart out to the Lord. One of greatest things about king David, the psalmist, is how he was so genuine and true with God. He didn’t sugar coat it and he didn’t try to impress with a great speech. Rather he was real with God because he needed real help from God. And in the midst of him pouring out his heart and petition to the Lord, he knew where the place is where you can get God’s presence. “…O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” It is in that place of praise that we can find God. This is how we out to approach the Almighty and power God. Praise him and pour out your heart in prayer.
