Psalm Chapter 40

Pray Today

Acts 5:14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Fort Worth, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Psalm 40

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest.

10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.

14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The Lord be magnified.

17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

  1. Verse 5 AMP “Many, O Lord my God, are the wonderful works which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of your wonders, They would be too many to count.” This verse reminded me of a song on the radio “Counting My Blessings” that says:

God, I’m still counting my blessings
All that You’ve done in my life
The more that I look in the details
The more of Your goodness I find
Father, on this side of Heaven
I know that I’ll run out of time
But I will keep counting my blessings
Knowing I can’t count that high

    And I know that seasons
    Never last forever
    So, God, I will remember
    All of the reasons
My heart has to be grateful
All the times You’ve been faithful to me

Let us ReVIVE and REMEMBER all of the ReASONS as we are blessed to be a blessing!

  2. Aqui nos dice que aunque el tiempo pase y nuestros enemigos nos acechen jehova estarà conmigo, querran hacerme mal pero tu espada siempre me defendera.

  3. 17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

It is when we are able to see ourselves as beyond helping ourself and not blaming God, we can then solely trust the Lord to deliver us. The Lord’s timing has a purpose, which we will know more perfectly when we reach glory.

  4. 3. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

He put a new song in our mouth, but we have to open our mouths and let it out!

🎵I got a praise inside of me and I gotta let it out! 🎶

  5. 17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God

With all the resources that are out there and the riches that are available let us never stop being dependent on God. We can have all of the money and health in the world and we are still poor and needy without Christ. Our dependency on him should not be circumstantial but rather have longevity. No matter how good things can be, we are still desperate need of Christ to keep us

  6. Psalms 40: 3 [ amp] And He has put a new song in my mouth,a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear revere ,and worship and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord.

Psalms 5:11 But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice ; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits.

Lets Revive and worship and praise our mighty God and put all our trust into him.

Hallelujah Praise the Lord for he has been so good to all us.

  7. 1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

God’s help comes, not too soon, lest we should not know the blessedness of trusting in the dark, and not too late, lest we should know the misery of trusting in vain.

    MY DELIGHT

The psalmist again reminds us of the value and power of the WORD and WILL of GOD. Verse 8 in the NET is so clear for us.

8 I want to do what pleases you, my God.
    Your law dominates my thoughts.

Please GOD and allow HIS LAW to dominate our thoughts. For the LAW of GOD to be in my heart and dominate my thoughts, I must read, study, learn and apply HIS Eternal WORD to my life, day and night.

Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

  12. Psalms 40:2-3 (KJV), “2) He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3) And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.”

These verses made me think of the hymnal song, “He Brought Me Out.”

1)My heart was distressed ‘neath Jehovah’s dread frown, And low in the pit were my sins dragged me down; I cried to the Lord from the deep miry clay, Who tenderly brought me out to golden day.

He brought me out of the miry clay, He set my feet on the Rock to stay; He puts a song in my soul today, A song of praise, Hallelujah!

          2) He placed me upon the strong Rock by His side, My steps were established and here I’ll abide; No danger of falling while here I remain, But stand by His grace until the crown I gain.

He brought me out of the miry clay, He set my feet on the Rock to stay; He puts a song in my soul today. A song of praise, Hallelujah!

          3) He gave me a song, ’twas a new song of praise; By day and by night its sweet notes I will raise; My heart’s overflowing, I’m happy and free. I’ll praise my Redeemer, Who has rescued me.

He brought me out of the miry clay, He set my feet on the Rock to stay; He puts a song in my soul today. A song of praise, Hallelujah!

          4) I’ll sing of His wonderful mercy to me, I’ll praise Him till all men His goodness shall see; I’ll sing of salvation at home and abroad, Till many shall hear the truth and trust in God.

He brought me out of the miry clay, He set my feet on the Rock to stay; He puts a song in my soul today. A song of praise, Hallelujah!

Thank You JESUS that YOU Brought Me Out!!

        1. Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

In the waiting seasons of life, sometime we forget this verse because our vision is cloudy by the perception of what we see. However, we must clearly see what God is doing, and for that we need to continually ask God to wash our eyes to see what He sees, and cleanse our mind to understand.

        2. Psalm 40: Deeply thankful for all God has done, David has fully dedicated himself to the Lord. Yet David cries out for mercy, for even total commitment has not given him an easy life. Although “poor and needy,” David rejoices in the Lord, ” my help and my deliverer”.

Psalm 40 is a great example for us at the Pentecostals of Fort Worth to live by. Even poor and not and easy life David commits to the Lord. No matter what we are going through or what Life brings our way we need to be 100% dedicated and commitment to Pastor and to the Lord.

        3. Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

The blessings in my life are more than I could ever imagine. Some I can recall from my past, even those that I have now, but how many were there that I didn’t even realize. I look back on my life, I know I could have taken a different path, and at times I did, but God with His gentle hand would turn me around and guide me in the right direction. We sometimes forget that God knows our past, He knows what we are going through now and He knows our future, for He knows us, He knew us while we were still in the womb, He formed us and gave each of us the life we have, yet He gave us the free will to accept Him and to follow His guidance. I’m thankful that He never left my side, even when I wasn’t looking to Him for my needs. But praise the Lord, I am now.

        4. 14May those who seek my life

          be ashamed and confounded;

may those who wish me harm

          be repelled and humiliated.

15May those who say to me, “Aha, aha!”

be appalled at their own shame.

          16May all who seek You

          rejoice and be glad in You;

may those who love Your salvation

always say, “The LORD be magnified!

          ———

To be honest, I think, I’m pretty sure

through out my walk with the Lord, my focus in prayer, my petition has been on getting to know him, understanding his word and having discernment, intercession for others in situations

          and of course for Salvation.

but I feel a strong need to pray this way for now on as I follow the Lord and seek him.

and as the Lord brings this to pass in their life, I will continue to worship him

I will continue to believe him

I will continue to do what I know .. and continue to learn more…

          in Jesus name.

          hallelujah!!!

Blessed be the name of the Lord.

          The LORD be magnified 🙌🏼

Repentance alone isn’t sufficient; we must also cultivate a relationship with God. Saying “Not my will, but Yours be done in my life” is easier than living it out. Understanding God’s will for our lives requires us to step beyond our own desires and foster a daily connection with our Heavenly Father.

        6. Psalms 40

5 Many,O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Our Lord has blessed me more than I can say. I had a third world disease when I was three years old. I had scarlet fever, not scarlet tina. I was in the hospital for about 4 weeks. They thought I had a contagious quick polo, which I didn’t have. I lived in a town that was inodated with mosquitoes. It was a town between Illinois and Indiana. God was gracious and healed me. This was just the beginning of my miracles. Jesus blessed me from that moment on. I have had a multitude of miracles and I am so blessed with more miracles. I can only try to love Jesus with my heart at this time. I also thankfull.

Thank you Jesus for this day.

God doesn’t need us to make rituals and blood being spilled but a willingness to sacrifice and letting the will of the Lord take over.

        8. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

What is your song of praise unto the Lord? If he has ever done anything for you, if he has ever answered you, your heart should be more than glad and your praise should be heard. No you’re not singing it for the world but it is something more intimate, something only you can sing to God. Praise him, with your own words, with your own voice. And give his name glory!

        9. 8I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.”

If God is within you, then you’ll have love, joy and peace. One will enjoy serving in his God, giving, being obedient. In return, God will bless you.
