Galatians Chapter 6

Galatians 6

1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

5For every man shall bear his own burden.

6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

11Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

12As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

17From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

18Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

  1. Gal. 6:2. Bear ye one another’s burdens

“Encourage the faintheart, help the weak be patient with everyone”
A willingness to ” bear the weaknesses of those
without strength and not just please ourselves
    Rom.15:1 (NAS)
If one member suffers all the members suffer.
We are told to “share each other’s burdens’
No matter how great or small of a deed.
You never know what a blessing you were to them
God will judge all of our deeds.

” Whatever you did for one of the least of
these brothers of mine, you did for me”
    Matt.25:40 RSB

  2. The MSG Version – 9-10So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

This speaks to my spirit today regarding the new disciples God has sent to POFW. Many times it is easy to “write” them off because of their lack of commitment, or carnality, but God has birthed them into new life, and placed them in the nursery at POFW, and His desire is for us to train them up as a child, and teach them His way. Pick them up when they stumble, challenge and encourage them by His word, and don;t be judgement if they stumble. We cannot grow weary in well doing, because we, like them, are still a work in progress and where would we be if God gave up on us when we stumbled, or stopped opening His word to our understanding because we were slow to learn. Help us to be sensitive to them and have patience, so that we don’t stunt their growth with our own attitudes and opinions.

  3. 1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.2Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

Why is it when we see someone falling away do we let them fall. That is the best opprotunity to show them God’s love by showing them love. We say to ourselves “I don’t want to have their burdens on me. I’m to Holy for that.” I understand that if your around these people alot than they can bring you down spiritually, yet shouldn’t we have enough Christ in us ,because we are Christ-ians, to be able to help those that are in need.
Also, if we think that we are so holy that we will not fall ,we are very deceived. As it says in vs 3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. This is why we need to be careful about what we say.

  4. vs-8

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh shall reap corruption but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting.

He who soweth to his flesh will reap a crop of fleshly lusts and end up in moral ruin. Soweth to the spirit and you will end up with a spiritual life beyond and life everlasting.

  5. This chapter is essentially instructing us to be Jesus to one another, which is to Be Church. While every one of us thinks we are correct we must remember, God is the Judge. We will Reap what we sow, we must therefore sow Godly peace and Love towards one another as well as the world. If we stay the course and Be Church, we will Reap eternity with Jesus

  6. Vs. 1~3 these verses show us the spirit that a child of God should have in the church. Restoring eachother and considering our own selves because we are not perfect.

  7. we must have a heart for eachothers burndens.

Reap what you Sow. meaning if you listen to your flesh, coruption will follow you…or if you bless someone you will be blessed also.
this I try never to forget!

  8. Pastor made a comment tonight in his sermon about not being prosecutors; he said we are witnesses. I feel like this chapter is also an illustration of how we are not prosecutors…

Paul says if someone is taken in a fault, let them which are spiritual RESTORE that one. I’ve seen in my short time of life how sometimes Christian folk chew each other up and spit them out when they find someone has been taken in a fault. We we are mature and SPIRITUAL the attitude is different. There is no judgment or anger but instead compassion and desire to help that person be restored to where God has called them and what he has called them to; however, this does not mean we accept or condone a fault a.k.a. SIN. This means that we recognize it and have a responsibility one to another to help the body heal itself.

  9. It is tremendously troubling how many people are deceived into believing they live carnally (being engulfed in this world and its system, trough tv, movies, secular music) for 6 days and expect to walk into an atmosphere of Apostolic anointing to be used of GOD.

It is very clear the spirit behind this thinking, Paul identifies the source immediately.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Deception. Saints and sinners alike are frustrated because of this one spiritual principal.

You WILL eat what you cook! Flesh or Spirit. GOD is not fooled.

    BE Church
    BE Spiritual

  10. Verses 1-3 (Message Version) of this chapter tells me that we need to be forgiving and sensitive to others instead of being critical. We may find ourselves needing that same forgiveness and sensitivity before the day is out.

Verses 7-8 reminds/warns us not to be misled!

  11. 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

So many have obtained positions of authority or leadership by deceiving others, manipulating the system, or going behind other people. They may have the position, but they soon find out, the job is alot tougher than they expected.

Those who put in the long hours, the extra work, being honest to others, and patiently waiting for their opportunity are put into these positions. But they get their by using their knowledge and wisdom, and normally will prosper in their position. God also, wants us to put in the hard and long hours for his kingdom. By doing so, we will be blessed at all times.

  12. 6 if any man think he is something when he is not he decieveth himself

Pride is the biggest killer of ministry. Pride changes ministry from helping others to helping self.

  13. 1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Key words “ye which are spiritual.” It is the nature of the flesh that condemns instead of restore, so we must daily walk in the spirit to fulfill this scripture and fulfill the law of Christ.

  14. 4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5For every man shall bear his own burden.

As someone walks through the fire its hard to see what’s going on around themselves, but God is proving them. When he makes it through, he will see where it was his faith and walk that kept him close to Christ. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t lift our brother up in prayer and encouragement, for we should. Just we have to allow them to grow, and often this proves to be harder than it sounds…
