Ephesians Chapter 3

Ephesians 3

1For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

2If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

3How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

4Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

5Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

7Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

8Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

10To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

12In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

13Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

  1. Vs 19 – Amplified Bible: [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and [h]become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

    This is my hearts desire today. I want to be flooded with Him so that He reflects in everything that I do.

  2. One of my most utilized promises in the Word of GOD! The revelation of potential in these verses cause me to be hopeful and full of expectation; in fact they cause me to bubble and be joyful on the inside. They motivate me to praise and worship GOD even when things are not going as I expected.

    20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
    21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

    When we see HIM able!!!!!!!
    When I see HIM able TO DO it empowers me to BE!

    Look at the words “exceeding abundantly”

    Exceeding – over, beyond, more than.
    Abundantly – Excessive, over and above.

    This writing of Paul reveals to us that HE can do over and beyond excessive amounts for us.

    For this verse alone there should be abundance of praise, honor and worship for and to the LORD.

    BE Church
    BE Glory unto HIM

  3. Verses 20-21 in the Message Version:

    God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

    Glory to God in the church!
    Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus!
    Glory down all the generations!
    Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!

    I can only try to imagine…..how AWESOME, because its far more than that!

  4. Wow, this chapter spoke to my heart: when we do things we need to have the love of christ in us. When we are out on our job we need to have Christ shining thru us, and be willing to take the time to listen to hurting people.

  5. Thankful that God chose to let us Gentiles be part of the body!
    His love is so great and we can only strive daily to show that same love to others. Through the love of God we can kill the enemy and tear his kingdom down!
    As Vesta Mangun says it so well,
    “We can start a church at the mouth of hell!”
    Whooo!!! Just got chills.
    Somebody needs to say that til’ they’re convinced!

  6. 20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

  7. This chapter reminds me, we all are part of God’s plan. Not only Jews, but all nations can partake in God’s salvation. God’s love for each and every one of us is greater than we can imagine. Let the Holy Spirit reign within us, show love to others, and have a compassion to spread the Word of God.

  8. vs”6That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:”…We were born gentiles, born into sin, but we don’t have to stay there.Because of the mercies of God, He allows us a chance to repent, be baptized, and filled with the Holy Ghost so that we can be joint heirs and in heaven…

    vs” 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”… How many of us know this love??? More importantly, How many of us show others this love letting them see Jesus in us???

  9. Eph.3:20 God can do far more than you could
    ever imagine.

    We must stand and focus on His word
    His promises. We must trust God to work on our
    behaves. Expect great things from God.
    The Lord Is Bountifull !!!
    The Lord has blessed us with His kindness,
    power,authority,courage and confidence.
    He allows us to speak and pray in our most
    Holy faith, “The Holy Ghost”
    His will,His mind all those things He has already
    prepared for us . Thank you Father !!!

  10. VS-3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery.

    The mystery was revealed by GOD to him. A mystery is a truth or fact or purpose which is hidden until it is revealed.

    IN VERSE 6 THIS MYSTERY IS DECLARED.

    This mystery is the good news that people who are not jewish have the same inheritance as jewish people do. they belong to the same body and share the same promise that GOD made in CHRIST JESUS.

  11. 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

    17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

    18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

    19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

    Thankful for HIS love.

  12. This chapter illustrates how God’s plan of salvation was put into motion. God’s plan which was once hidden from all can now be seen. The Blood sacrifice of Jesus made salvation possible for all, which was not the case before. We are obligated once our eyes are open to spread the gospel of Jesus to all.

  13. 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

    17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

    18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

    19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

    20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

    We all see, understand, comprehend differently. God is able to take off the blindfold and expose us to the mystery. Knowledge and wisdow come from Him. We were once in the dark, now that we have come to the light we need to reach out to others who are still in the shadows and lead them over to the light. You cant force them, its kind of like that old saying.. you can lead a horse to water but you cant make them drink.

  14. He wants to blow our minds. If you think what he’s doing now is awesome … We haven’t seen anything yet folks. Strap in the ride!

  15. This chapter shows the love that Paul has for the gentiles and his humility in filling this role. It also tells me of the greatest gift God had prepared for us in eternity.

  16. We will never be able to imagine the goodness of our God, I think that is why people tend to limit our God, they just cant comprehend How much He will bless us. He loved us so much that He made salvation available for us the gentiles. It is time to let God be God and for us to be the Church that makes His blessing availables and present in our service.

  17. This chapter tells us that God can do many things, but not odinary things…..amazing things, and it shows us that Faith plays an important role in our walk with God. So keep the faith high, keep praying and seeking God and reading his word.
    Be Church!!

  18. I pray that we all be filled with all the fullness of God by knowing the love of God. And also Vs 10 confirms that the angels are watc hingus. Through the church(us) they receive knowledge of Gods wisdom. Lets Be church

  19. 13Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

    the trials are not to tear you down but to uplift you and build your strength up. He is a father filled with everlasting love for everyone of us and we need to remember that the spankings are to discipline and teach.
    Let his love guide you… BE Love, BE Church

  20. the strength of the Lord comes from the joy of the Lord, the joy of the Lord comes from the Spirit of the Lord which is in US!!!
