Titus Chapter 3

Titus 3

1Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

2To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

3For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

4But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

7That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

9But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

10A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

11Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

12When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.

13Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.

14And let our’s also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

15All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

  5. When we start to think that the disciples were always “good men” we need to read this chapter. It shows us that they were human, that they had bad days ,and yet they were preachers. This shows us the mercy of God.

    Thank you God for your mercy!

  6. This chapter instructs us to obey authority. We must obey those that have the rule over us and we must pray that God guides them. Everyone follows someone why not follow someone that will lead us to Jesus, vice someone that may lead us to destruction. We all have sinned, we all need Jesus, and therefore we must pray for those that do not know the Lord. We will never be able to thank everyone that prayed, fasted and sought God for us, may the Lord richly Bless them all. Thank God for Brothers and Sisters in the Lord like you all, may Jesus Bless you all

  11. MSG – 1-2Remind the people to respect the government and be law-abiding, always ready to lend a helping hand. No insults, no fights. God’s people should be bighearted and courteous.
    3-8It wasn’t so long ago that we ourselves were stupid and stubborn, dupes of sin, ordered every which way by our glands, going around with a chip on our shoulder, hated and hating back. But when God, our kind and loving Savior God, stepped in, he saved us from all that. It was all his doing; we had nothing to do with it. He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. God’s gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there’s more life to come—an eternity of life! You can count on this.

    We as Holy Ghost filled chirstians shoud have no problem with the instructions given in these scriptures. No insults, no fighting, be courteous, bighearted. Do not walk around with a chip on your shoulder because you did not get your way, be cleansed from that type of thinking and be renewed in the Holy Ghost on a daily basis. Regenerating our minds to the mind of Christ everyday will make our outlook on every situation different.

  12. v 6 “Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior”

  18. Verses 1-2 in the Message Version say…

    “Remind the people to respect the government and be law-abiding, always ready to lend a helping hand. No insults, no fights. God’s people should be bighearted and courteous.” Just as someone else was bighearted and courteous enough to care about our souls we now have to do the same!
