1 John Chapter 1

1 John 1

1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

  1. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
    lets walk in the light

  2. v3″And truly our fellowship is with the Father,
and with his Son Jesus Christ.

To have true fellowship with our Father we
must be honest, righteous and obedient to
    His commandments.
“So that ye may be the children of your Father
    which is in heaven.”. Matt.5:45
Fellowship of men with God and with one another. That’s true fellowship .

  3. For me this scripture portrays and demonstrates one the most challenging things in this world to understand us people.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The bible tells us that all have sinned and for us to act like we have not, we make GOD a liar. (OUCH!)

God’s Holy Spirit attracts humanity to a relationship with HIM and circumstances generate a void in our lives, yet so frequent people seem detached, disconnected from seeking a closer relationship with God; almost as to say, I have all the GOD I want or there is nothing wrong with me that I need to seek GOD or I have not made any big mistakes lately.

The latter may be true but have we completely and totally obeyed GOD in every aspect of life?

I often wonder what would happen Spiritually if every believer would seek GOD wholeheartedly, humbly and sincerely like we had no knowledge of HIM. You talk about a REVOLUTION of epic proportions!

    BE Church
    BE A Seeker not a Sitter…

  4. Darkness and light cannot be joined together. Darkness is the absence of light. It is the same in a spiritual sense. With Jesus there is life and without him is death. What God do we serve? The God of light or of darkness?

Let Gods’ light shine through you!
    BE CHURCH!!

  5. Oh the power of confession… not to a man but to the Savior of the world. Too many people miss out on an abundant life because they are afraid to confess their sins to a God that can remit them. Yes, the Lord knows what’s in the heart of a man but he cannot make the man confess the sin and profess Jesus. Power of Choice!

  6. We all were born in sin and shapen in inquity, thankful that we can walk in the light, and His blood cleanses us from all sin. Thankful for Calvary!

  7. It is a blessing to know that when we fail to do right God is faithful to forgive our sins if we confess them to Him and repent.

  8. The plan of God is just so awesome. If we can just follow what God has already set into place, we will have nothing to worry about.

  9. The Message 3-4 We saw it, we heard it, and now we’re telling you so you can experience it along with us, this experience of communion with the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. Our motive for writing is simply this: We want you to enjoy this, too. Your joy will double our joy!

This verse reminds me of a message Pastor preached a few short years ago about going out and tell everyone what we have seen and heard. Sharing Jesus = Double Joy

  10. This chapter illustrates consequences of not following God‘s Word. Life is all around us, God’s Word explains life to us. Light and darkness cannot occupy the same time, thus a life with sin and without sin cannot either. We must therefore admit that we are (all) sinners and that we will be lost without Jesus. God’s Word will prevail and we will (all) be judge according to it. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  11. What a promise! A God who is faithful to us-who will forgive us of all our sins if we confess them. God”s got my back!
My part is to obey His word, and He will keep His promises to me.

  12. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Our God is so Just, He makes things clear and to the point. Just follow instructions, simple enough.

  13. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Don’t make God a liar. Confess daily, die daily find an altar of repentance daily. Be Church!

  14. 8-10 If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing. If we claim that we’ve never sinned, we out-and-out contradict God—make a liar out of him. A claim like that only shows off our ignorance of God. (MSG)

  15. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

I’m glad that it’s not just me, lol. Even though we strive for perfection, and may be at different levels in our walks with God, in reality, we are ALL sinners…this lets me know that I am qualified to be a member of His body, because there is nothing I have done that is worse than anyone else, and if they can live and work for Him, so can I.

  17. 4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

We must stive to keep our focus on Him and not the perils around us that our joy might stay full. Lord I want my joy tobe full.

  18. God is awesome! These challening instructions are possible but nevertheless challenging. We have to pay close attention to what we are doing. In reverance to the will of God we will walk with him, repent when we are wrong, recieve his forgivness and glory and shine his light unto the world.
