Revelation Chapter 21

Revelation 21

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

12And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

  4. The bad news for some is that “everybody” is not going to enter in according to the BIBLE.

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

This is motivation for me to continually repent and seek to have my life acceptable in HIS sight.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new…

    The Promise to the Overcomer!

    BE Church

  5. 27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

not everyone will make it to heaven. lets strive to be found in the lambs book of life

  6. 7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

What a promise! We can overcome! Be Church!

  7. What an awesome place to behold! And even greater than the beauty of new Jerusalem is the presence of the Lord in this place-He is it’s light and no darkness shall be there!!
I am thankful my name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life! Jesus-I am an overcomer by your blood and the word of my testimony-I shall overcome!

  8. He said I will show you the bride and then he showed him a city.

The new Jerusalem, the church, the bride of Christ. We are all working together to share in that great place with Jesus. We have inherited what he inherited.

We must remain faithful and true. Exclusive to only him.

    Be church
    Be the bride

  9. The new heaven and new earth. The bride the lambs wife. The city coming down out of heaven its walls gates foundation. The city of gold and gates of pearl. The light of the city its holiness.

  10. Jesus will be what makes this city Heaven for me. All it’s beauty and spendor as described, I’m longing to see, but more than I want to see Jesus!

  11. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

What a day that will be! 🙂

  12. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

This gives me so much comfort for those loved ones that have joined our Lord in heaven. To know that there will be no more sorrow or pain. PRAISE GOD FOR HIS MERCY ENDURETH FOR EVER.

  13. 3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.[a] 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”

Thank you Jesus, I can’t wait!

  14. This chapter speaks of God’s prepared city. The city described is for all those that have made themselves ready. The beauty and splendor of what God has prepared is unfathomable. The most precious will be the fact there will be no sorrow or tears, no burdens to bear and no pain or death, forever we will be with Jesus. We need to press towards the mark, we need to grab one another’s hand and we need to Be-Church to a lost and dying world, Jesus is coming soon. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  15. Longing for that day Jesus brings us home. I came across an old hymn that seems to sum up so very well the sense of this chapter:

    There is coming a day
When no heart aches shall come
No more clouds in the sky
No more tears to dim the eye
    All is peace forever more
    On that happy golden shore
What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face
The One who saved me by His grace
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land
What a day, glorious day that will be

    There’ll be no sorrow there
    No more burdens to bear
    No more sickness, no pain
    No more parting over there
    And forever I will be
With the One who died for me
What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face
The One who saved me by His grace
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the Promised Land
What a day, glorious day that will be

  16. 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

I can’t wait to get there!!

  17. 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God…. just imagine getting to dwell with God….

  18. Verses 2-5 in the MSG read…..”I saw Holy Jerusalem, new-created, descending resplendent out of Heaven, as ready for God as a bride for her husband. 3-5I heard a voice thunder from the Throne: “Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood, making his home with men and women! They’re his people, he’s their God. He’ll wipe every tear from their eyes. Death is gone for good—tears gone, crying gone, pain gone—all the first order of things gone.” The Enthroned continued, “Look! I’m making everything new. Write it all down—each word dependable and accurate.”

Thank you Lord for your Word is always dependalbe and accurate.
