30 Days of Prayer

Day 18

Pray for the bible to be translated and made available in every language: “And many nations shall come…for the law shall go forth of Zion and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem” (Micah 4:2)

Numbers 34

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:)

3Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward:

4And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon:

5And the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.

6And as for the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border: this shall be your west border.

7And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor:

8From mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad:

9And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border.

10And ye shall point out your east border from Hazarenan to Shepham:

11And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:

12And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about.

13And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe:

14For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance:

15The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan near Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.

16And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

17These are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.

18And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance.

19And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

20And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.

21Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.

22And the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli.

23The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod.

24And the prince of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.

25And the prince of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.

26And the prince of the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan.

27And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.

28And the prince of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.

29These are they whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.

  1. God gave the land and with authority designed a map that amazed me, just the owner has the prints! The problem is they never beleived in his inherence. We have to believe in our inherence!
    Praise the Lord!

  2. V 16-29 Here we see the names of the new leaders that replaced those who had once been appointed ; yet never saw the Promised Land due to their disobedience.
My desire is to be named among the obedient.

  3. This chapter spoke to me about receiving the promise. Verses 1-2 in the message version read….”God spoke to Moses: “Command the People of Israel. Tell them, When you enter Canaan, these are the borders of the land you are getting as an inheritance:”

The message version of part of verse 13 reads….”This is the land: Divide up the inheritance by lot. God has ordered it ….

The CEV of the same verse……”You will receive the land inside these borders. It will be yours,…..

The NLT of the same verse….”This territory is the homeland you are to divide among yourselves by sacred lot…….

  4. The geographic borders that God proclaims for Israel are, at the point in history when he announces them to Moses, only an ideal. Not until many years later, during the lifetimes of King David and Solomon, will these boundaries be more or less realized. God is holding the map in our lives where he lays down boundaries also..for example he speaks to Job about some of them.

Job 38:5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its footings set,
    or who laid its cornerstone—
10 when I fixed limits for it
and set its doors and bars in place,
    11 when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther;
here is where your proud waves halt’? NIV

*God fixed a limit for everything, and we’d do well not to cross either.

  5. v1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying
2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them , When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:)

GOD will guide us as we keep walking in HIS ways towards our promises ( towards our promise land)
Psalms 23 reminds us that GOD’S guidance is part of the inheritance of HIS children.
” The Lord Is My Shepherd” HE leads me….
    I’m so thankful!

  6. 2Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:)

  7. I want to be obedient to God’s word so I can inherit my part of the land as well. Oh Jesus, help me understand your words that I read, let me comprehend what I read, and allow me to focus on your words. Thank you Jesus for loving me so much, I love you.

  8. THE COMMANDED BLESSING

29 These are they whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.

GOD in his infinite view and wisdom of Israel, kept the record of every move of the Israelites and planned and prepared for them accordingly.

We should take great courage and hope in this manifested blessing of the promises of GOD to Israel and the dividing of the land.

Many times it seems that GOD may not be fair to us according to the blessings we see others receive; however it is not until we reach the other side of this life that we will fully know our reward.

This is why it is called a FAITH walk!

    iPray

  9. Moses, still speaking for the Lord and not seeking his own reward. He was speaking to the people ranging from judgment to blessings and everything in between. I just find it amazing at how God uses Moses throughout his lifetime and how special it is to have numerous places in the bible where it reads “and the Lord spake unto Moses”

    That’s special.

That’s a good legacy to leave behind; when people think of you they remember how God spoke to you.

  10. God gives us order, leadership, and boundaries so we can step into His promises as He intends. The Promised Land of God is not some playground where, as long as we play nice and stay in line while in the process of getting there, we can do whatever we want upon arrival; we must operate within the bounds of the blessing, otherwise we disqualify ourselves for enjoying and partaking of what is ours.

Think of a child who gets a new swing-set. If they act out and misuse the swing-set, their parents may increasingly limit or even take away their privileges for using it. Sure, it “belongs” to the child, it was obtained for that child, it is reserved for them (and even in disobedience it’s still theirs), but their actions disqualify them from using it.

Getting there is only part of the story; what we do once we arrive at our blessing and promise is a whole other matter in and of itself.

  11. And when you come into the land of Canaan …. the promise land, the land which they had the opportunity to possess 40 years prior, and now they are finally going to cross over and each be given their inheritance. God has given us all precious promises of blessings, giftings, souls, and an inheritiance. I don’t want to get caught up in murmuring and complaining and wander around those promises, but never receive them, like the children of Israel. Lord help us to step into the promises in faith and receive what you have not only for POFW but for the entire region of Fort Worth, our city….our promised territory…everyplace our feet have trod.

  12. This chapter illustrates limits. The Lord has given us all free will (great borders) to either do his will, which brings peace and eternal life or the deceivers will, which will bring forth sorrow and death. We must therefore abide with in these great borders if we too want a great inheritance, what an awesome God we serve. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  13. God has given Fort Worth for us to take for his kingdom. We must possess the land as the isrealites had to do, but we must go to war in the spirit.
