30 Days of Prayer

Day 20

Pray for the poor, the sick, the orphans, and refugees to have their basic needs of food, water, and healthcare provided: “My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”” (Philippians 4:19)

Numbers 36

1And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:

2And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.

3And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

4And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.

5And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.

6This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.

7So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.

8And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.

9Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.

10Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:

11For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their fathers brothers’ sons:

12And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

13These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.

  1. V 10 Even so as the Lord commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehed.
The path God choses for us is the purest.

  2. MARRY IN THE FAITH

6 This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.

The cammand given by the LORD concerning marriage is “you can marry anyone you desire as long as they part of your tribe. This gets complicated in our day because of a spirit of “equality in faith”.

“Equality in faith” means as long as they believe. However, we read here the specifics of marriage from the LORD is that they must be of the same tribe as their father.

“Interfaith” marriages are a setup for trouble. I have witnessed it over and over again. A man or a woman meets someone they like but does not have the same foundational core beliefs of Repentance, Baptism in Jesus name, operation of the gift of the Holy Ghost, and living a separated, consecrated life to GOD expressed by outward dress. Then in just a few short weeks, sometimes days all of the doctrinal foundation of teaching is thrown to the wind. Consider Solomon’s disobedience.

I encourage every single young or old who is seeking to be married, before you know their occupation, financial status, or even personality; the LORD said find out their FAITH, what tribe are they from, do they believe in the same foundational doctrines.

Marriage is a LIFE covenant with GOD.

  3. 8And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.

  4. v 8 “That the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.”

I’m grateful everyday and enjoy our Heavenly Father’s inheritance.
We have His Word. HIS Promises. The foundation of the Lord . To support us when the storms blow our way .We feel secure.
Stand by me, LORD….. i pray

  5. 1And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses.

It starts with fathers, the figure head in a family household. Laws, inheritance and discipline is what fathers are to follow. Only a Godly man can instill family and moral values, and lead his family to God. We all should strive for the inheritance of God’s values.

  6. Verse 10 in the Message Version reads….”The daughters of Zelophehad did as the LORD commanded Moses.” The daughters of Zelophehad remembered what God had given them and done for them. So they did as the Lord commanded Moses and married within their own tribe. We too must never forget what God has promised us and never step outside of what we believe!

  7. Amen Pastor. These days most people look at only if they will be taken care of financially and not whether or not there ous will take care of them spiritually. If you can’t pray together, you shouldn’t date.,much less get married

  8. I agree 100 percent with pastor on staying in the faith while dating. I would like to add that it is also important to inspect what u expect when it comes to someone who claims to be in the faith. Take a good look into their lives before u marry them. . . Jesus said . . Ye shall know them by their fruits.

  9. If they married within their own tribe they received the inheritance of their fathers, but if they married outside the tribe, they inheritance went to the tribe they married. Just like us, people can so easily lose their Godly inheritance by not placing importance on their mate. It is so important to marry someone with like precious faith, and like goals for life spiritually. There is nothing worse than being unequally yoked.

  10. We will find blessing “in the House,” however, we must remain faithful and not leave as soon as we get it. The blessing is found in the House and it’s meant to stay in the House. Where are our hearts? It is about the blessing or the Lord of the blessing?

These daughters of Zelophehad are like the church, like in the parable of the virgins who kept oil in their lamps in preparation for the coming Bridegroom; we get to choose who we will be the bride of, who we think is best to marry, this world or Christ. Will our blessing be kept in the House or wasted in this world?

Joshua 24:15 “…choose you this day whom you will serve…”

  11. God gave commandments that the inheritance should remain in the family. today the inheritance of the Gospel should be passed from generation to generation. It is a call for men to be leaders in their homes and see to it that the family knows Jesus and follows His Word.

  12. 9Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.

Let me follow your plan, God the one you have for me and my future husband. Let me be obedient to YOU. Don’t let him pass me by. Open my eyes to YOU.

  13. This chapter illustrates analysis. Everyone has knowledge of something, which some perhaps more than others. Therefore one should listen to trustworthy individuals. While an intelligent person will seek counsel, the wise will seek the Lord and his Word. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  14. 12And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

In order for us to keep our inheritance we must be equally yoked. Though feelings sometimes arise for people of other beliefs, we must stay true and separated to be able to walk in the blessings that God has for us. This is a principal that many loose sight of, and eventually loose their blessing over…

  15. Im so glad that my wife could see that we were of the same tribe even though I didnt act like it when we were first married. Thank God for his appointments and his great wisdom.

  16. GOD told the people who to marry, it wasn’t for the sake of being bossy, but for their own good to keep thier inheritance. We need to remember that so when GOD tells us to do something we remember that he has our best interest at heart.
