  1. The tribe of Levi

God set apart the Levites Nu 3:12-13; 8:14 to lead the Israelites in their worship. They perform various tasks in the tabernacle (Nu 4) and the tribe of Levi are dedicated to God for this purpose. However, only the Levites who are decendants of Aaron are designated as priests who may offer sacrifices on behalf of the people (Ex 28:1; 1Ch 6:49). And after their 70 years of captivity the people realize that they need to authenticate the Levites lineage. Therefore the genealogies in ch6 achieve this exact purpose and ease the exiles’ concern that they are faithful following Gods commands regarding worhip. The Jewish exiles must be looking forward to the day when the Messiah will usher in the kingdom of God, canceling the need for a Levite priests’ repeated sacrifice and wiping away forever his people’s sins. With grateful hearts, we look back to the kingdom of God Jesus ushered in and his sacrificial death on the cross.

  2. David appoints music ministers from the tribe of Levi, charging them with using music to worship God )1Ch 15:16). Many of these musicians write their own praise lyrics and set them to music. Sone of these songs are even recorded in the book of Psalms. Compare the titles of Psalms 39, 42, 44-50 and 73-88 with this list of temple musicians. One of the temple musicians Asaph became well known for his compostions (1Ch 15:17,19; 16:5,7) its believed that he, his son, or musician protege wrote up to 12 psalms. Like other Levitical musicians he probably held a prophetic minstry positions as well (1 Ch 15:5,7). My favorite is Ps 73:26 in the middle of one of Asaph’s psalms has this heartfelt cry of ancient and contemporary worshipers: “My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the Strength of my heart and my portion forever,” He knew who he was and he praised the Lord in the position he was appointed into. We all have this oportunity now as heirs of Christ, to sing unto the Lord a new song! (Ps 96:1)

  3. This chapter really describes what the generations did and they’re cities. And who’s name in each tribe was.
Some served in the Lord’s Tabernacle, some didnt.
I thank you Lord for guiding me to your house for a place of safety and refuge…and I know you are there everytime.

  4. v32 And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem : and then they waited on their office according to their order.

Praise brings joy as we recall HIS Goodness.
An atmosphere in which GOD LOVES TO DWELL… We ought to have s song. Sing your way out of trouble,as we daily minister unto the LORD. Our Praise can move the obstruction of fear, doubt, and unbelief.
Verse 32 says they sang until Solomon had built the house of the LORD AND THEN they waited on their office .
The LORD knows what we have need of
let’s sing unto the LORD UNTIL _______?
What do you have need of? GOD CAN.
Today as we built the LORD A house of praise
And prayerfully wait on the LORD to speak a ministry into our lives . Tonight at the Ministry Fair. ( Just A Thought)
Psalms 66:4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.
    iPray
iWork keep on building your ark
    iSing unto the LORD

  5. ILove to eat breakfast with Jesus

And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after that the ark had rest. (1 Chronicles 6:31 KJV)

The praise team is not just some people singing, but they are people rooted in the priesthood.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: (1 Peter 2:9 KJV)

  6. LEADERSHIP IN MUSIC MINISTRY

31 And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after that the ark had rest.
32 And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order.
33 And these are they that waited with their children.

This passage affirms the importance of Leadership expectations towards the Music Ministry. In many churches, if you can sing well or are gifted in music then you qualify to be involved or even lead the Music Ministry. However, we learn in this chapter that there is a special recognition for the Music Ministry in the linage of the tabernacle and the building of it.

There are 3 key responsibilities of the Music Ministry identified here in chapter 6:

    1. “They Ministered”
8334 sharath, shaw-rath´; to attend as a menial or worshipper; figuratively, to contribute to:—minister (unto), (do) serve(-ant, -ice, -itor), wait on.
They were servants “FIRST”. Attitude in Music Ministry is so important. Any “ATTITUDE” other than that of a servant taints and disrupts the flow of the Spirit of GOD.

    2.”They Sang”
    7892. shiyr, sheer; a song; abstractly, singing:—musical(-ick).
They were singers and musicians second. They prepared, planned and practiced before they performed. Never underestimate the importance of Music Ministry practice.

    3. They “Waited”
5975. amad, aw-mad´; to stand, in various relations:—abide (behind), appoint, arise, cease, confirm, continue, dwell, be employed, endure, establish, leave, make, ordain, be (over), place, (be) present (self), raise up, remain, repair, + serve, set (forth, over, -tle, up), (make to, make to be at a, with-)stand (by, fast, firm, still, up), (be at a) stay (up), tarry.
They were “FAITHFUL” to ALL aspects of Ministry. They desired to be “COMMITTED” to the Ministry.

iPray a special Blessing on the Music Ministry of The Pentecostals of Fort Worth today. May the GOD of glory rest on you today with great conviction, passion and commitment in JESUS name.

    iPray

  7. POFW God has given fort worth, tarrant county and the surrounding areas……..Let’s get to work for the kingdom

  8. 10 And Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest’s office in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem:)

To be known as the person whom executed the priest’s office…
Many times we do just that though. We take for granted the word that Pastor teaches, or when we neglect to follow the instructions that we are given, we do that very thing. We must listen and follow instruction, for Pastor is watching out for our best intrest, which starts with comming to a right place in Christ.

  9. 49 But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

The sons of Aaron were given a greater responsibility above the Levites because they handled the sacrifice for the atonement for sin. Yet scipture is silent regarding manyof these men unless they carried out a signicant task in history. Were these men / priests also silent when the King of thier day & time did evil before the Lord? Many of these names we know because they themselves were corupt and caused the people to sin. Today, we are a body-fittly joined together with tour head-Pastor. We together should help win this city that we have been given. It will take the entire body helping one another to win the lost of this region. Let’s make a name in history for our church: THE Pentecostals of Fort Worth!

  10. And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after that the ark had rest.

32 And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order.

There is something about ministering in song to the Lord that brings a rest to your spirit. As part of the music team, we recognize how important our role in the service it. These people were ministering to the congregation with singing until the house of the Lord was built by Solomon, then they awaited their appointment to their position.

God has a speciifc design and order for the music team to minister. Lord help us be obedient so that we can fulfil our role in the kingdom.

  11. Solomon built the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. Thery performed their duties according to the regulations lad down for them. How awesome to Praise the Lord in his house. Music is beautiful no matter who sings . Lord thank you for music, I love to sing and praise you .

  12. 10 And Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest’s office in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem:)
31 And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after that the ark had rest.
32And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order.
48 Their brethren also the Levites were appointed unto all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
49 But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded. (1 Chronicles 6:10, 31, 32, 48, 49 KJV)

These are some of the offices held by members of the church. Important jobs must be done. When the jobs are too numerous or maybe someone thinks they are minuscule, refer to v. 48. They were in charge of ALL MANNER of service.

  13. 48 Their brethren also the Levites were appointed unto all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

49 But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

Different roles call for different people.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. (2 Corinthians 10:12 KJV)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. (Romans 12:1-5 KJV)

We each have our own individual “portion” placed in our hand, our “measure” to give in the Kingdom as a specific role/job/ministry .
Our serving is best when done with humility and not in comparing ourselves to others. Our *living sacrifice* is unique to us as individuals, and so should be used as a special sacrifice in obedience to God’s will for us.

  14. This chapter illustrates place. As we read we see all were in a certain place, some were good and some were not. Life will present each of us with circumstances; whereas the test is what we do with them, both the good and the not so good. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  15. 48 Their brethren also the Levites were appointed unto all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
49 But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

We are of the royal priesthood. We must realize that we are to serve the Kingdom of God.

  16. God has trusted us with the city of Fort Worth! Its time to pick up our sickles and get to work!! Praise be to God!

  17. 31 And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the Lord, after that the ark had rest.

32 And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order.

These verses are a perfect example into what we are to do as ministers in Christ. We minister with singing ,playing, cleaning, briving a bus what ever it is that God calls us to do; then we wait on or office or our oppertunity for God to elevate us according to his holy order.

  18. Verses 31-32 MSG reads…. “These are the persons David appointed to lead the singing in the house of God after the Chest was placed there. They were the ministers of music in the place of worship, which was the Tent of Meeting until Solomon built The Temple of God in Jerusalem. As they carried out their work, they followed the instructions given to them.”

It is so awesome how every part of every ministry has its order, place and importance in the kingdom of God. In everything that we do, we must do it with the everything we’ve got and follow our Leadership.
