Read Proverbs Chapter 25
2 Chronicles 4
1 Moreover he made an altar of brass, twenty cubits the length thereof, and twenty cubits the breadth thereof, and ten cubits the height thereof.
2 Also he made a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and five cubits the height thereof; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.
3 And under it was the similitude of oxen, which did compass it round about: ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about. Two rows of oxen were cast, when it was cast.
4 It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.
5 And the thickness of it was an handbreadth, and the brim of it like the work of the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies; and it received and held three thousand baths.
6 He made also ten lavers, and put five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them: such things as they offered for the burnt offering they washed in them; but the sea was for the priests to wash in.
7 And he made ten candlesticks of gold according to their form, and set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.
8 He made also ten tables, and placed them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. And he made an hundred basons of gold.
9 Furthermore he made the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid the doors of them with brass.
10 And he set the sea on the right side of the east end, over against the south.
11 And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons. And Huram finished the work that he was to make for king Solomon for the house of God;
12 To wit, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars;
13 And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars.
14 He made also bases, and lavers made he upon the bases;
15 One sea, and twelve oxen under it.
16 The pots also, and the shovels, and the fleshhooks, and all their instruments, did Huram his father make to king Solomon for the house of the Lord of bright brass.
17 In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredathah.
18 Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance: for the weight of the brass could not be found out.
19 And Solomon made all the vessels that were for the house of God, the golden altar also, and the tables whereon the shewbread was set;
20 Moreover the candlesticks with their lamps, that they should burn after the manner before the oracle, of pure gold;
21 And the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, made he of gold, and that perfect gold;
22 And the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers, of pure gold: and the entry of the house, the inner doors thereof for the most holy place, and the doors of the house of the temple, were of gold.

v18 Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance : for the weight of the brass could not be found out.
Solomon was wise to furnish the temple with the very best outward, but when it came to the inward his heart he was foolish.
The outside was outstanding but his heart was full of evil deeds.
The problem is at the doors of our hearts. We must guard the gate to HIS HOUSE.
It’s what’s in the inside us that makes us rise or fall.
Matt.23:27 ” Full of dead men bones”
Full of pride, rebellion , hatred, jealously, malice and envy.
GOD knows if we really love HIM and each other wholeheartedly.
When we get GOD in the inside( HIS TEMPLE) everything else will be alright.
LORD… make us vessels you can use in your Kingdom.

22/ talks about the entry of the house of God. The most holy place in the temple, were of gold….
When I enter into the entrance of the front doors of church that’s the,holy of holies. It’s more precious than gold and silver and we are God’s moat valuable asset that he owns. More precious than gold. Can you imagine? when a new beliver comes to Jesus for the first time they are God’s most valuable thing to have and love.we are HIS “gold.”
Early in the chapter it talked aboutHuram serving and helping Soloman the man that leads. Huram listened and did everything he could for Soloman. I’m glad for the men that helps the church for the pastor and Sis. watts’ vision for fort worth. To help build the House of God. I want to be apart of that building!! 🙂
22 And the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers, of pure gold: and the entry of the house, the inner doors thereof for the most holy place, and the doors of the house of the temple, were of gold.
Can you imagine they had to go through all that to get to the Holy of Holies? I praise God for Christ didn’t only take away ALL my sins but He opened the way so we may come to Him without any separations or obstacles. The only obstacles that may exist are those created by men itself.
Matt 27:50-53
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Moreover he made an altar of brass, twenty cubits the length thereof, and twenty cubits the breadth thereof, and ten cubits the height thereof.
The place of death and sacrifice is at the altar. When guests come into the church, the altar is a terrifying place. It’s our job to lead them to the altar and show them there is really life after death.
This chapter describes in detail everything that was built for the Temple of God.
Verse 11 NLT reads “Huram-abi also made the necessary washbasins, shovels, and bowls. So at last Huram-abi completed everything King Solomon had assigned him to make for the Temple of God:” Huram-abi completed what he had been assigned to do by King Solomon. We all have been given (assigned) gifts and talents that can be used for his Kingdom. It is now time to complete our assignment.
IMMEASURABLE GIFT
18 Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance: for the weight of the brass could not be found out.
I believe this to be ultimate FAITH level giving, when we give in such abundance and sacrifice that there is no record of exactly how much we gave. Solomon found himself at this level as a result of being so “consumed” with his purpose of building the “House of the LORD” that he failed to record some of his offerings unto the LORD.
At times in serving the Kingdom of GOD we find ourselves in a place that we are giving without measure of time, talent and treasure unto the “House of the LORD”. This can only be attained as we recognize that we are “giving” to GOD and not a church, Pastor or Leader.

I believe Solomon used the finest materials in making the house of the Lord. He gave his best. We should bring our best to the Lord….best efforts, best sacrifice, best worship, best offering ……God desires and deserves the finest.
In todays society we have to be honest with ourselves and with God. When we pray, read,, serve, minister to others and attending services are we bringing our best? Others can tell from our attitude and character if we are being honest with ourselves.
Serve the Lord with gladness come before his presence with singing. Psalm 100:2 KJV
When we worship the Lord bring your best
when you sing, sing with all you have
when you pray, pray in a focused manner
when you listen, listen with an open heart
when you give, give from your heart
Bring your best to God. Don’t do it out of attitude of habit but to have a desire and a closer walk with God.
Solomon was so generous when it came to furnishing the temple, gold was what he used the most of, Solomon had no restrictions he gave to the Lord without double thinking it, he just did it.
We may not have as much gold as Solomon but we are rich in many other ways, God wants us to give to him from the heart because we want to.
Lord pour your blessing on my family and my Church family that we may be a testimony to you.
it always surprises me to hear someone say, i cant give this to that church, i dont have it. when we all have a mind set of giving to the Kingdom of God and not to a man or building, then we can truely give God the very best. without God we would not be able to stand, work or do anything, so we should honor God in all that we do and strive to be more like Him by loving from our hearts, by seeing people as God saw us when we were lost and by sharing what God has allowed us to learn of Him. keep the faith and stand on the word of God and the situation will feel much lighter and seem farther away, of course it will be there but standing on the word and holding on to your faith you can and you will be a overcomer. i love you guys so much, you are truely my sisters and brothers. by His GRACE and MERCY we will grab hold to pastors vision for the kingdom and it will come to past because we are all overcomers
Solomon prayed for wisdom and received it,but nowhere could I find that God gave him instruction to build such a lavish temple. That explains his unhappiness. As he said in Ecclesiastes1:14. I have seen all works that are under the sun, and Behold all is vanity and vexation of the spirit. Wisdom can bring happiness as long as money and riches doesn’t cloud our sight. That should tell us we need to seek God in all things.
6 He made also ten lavers, and put five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them: such things as they offered for the burnt offering they washed in them; but the sea was for the priests to wash in.
19 And Solomon made all the vessels that were for the house of God, the golden altar also, and the tables whereon the shewbread was set;
Repentance, prayer and the word should always have a place established in the temple in which God now resides.
But Solomon built him an house. -Acts 7:47
Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, -Acts 7:48
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? -1 Corinthians 3:16
This chapeter shows the beauty of and great detail that was put into the temple that Solomon built for God. It was furnished with the best that money could buy at that time and was beautiful. God also wants us to give ourselves to being te most spiritually clean, beautiful and honorable temple that we can be for him in our lifestyles.
As I read on , I am reminded of two things. One- how even though the temple was beautiful, the things of this world will pass away. Two- we must treat our hearts as the temple. We are where God now dwells, in our hearts. We must keep them clean.
Ill be the first to admit this chapter was hard for me to comment on. I read it early and have read it several times today. I was stuck until I was dwelling on the fact that this chapter was describing the furnishings of the temple. I realized that much like Solomon supplied the temple with the finest and best we must also adorn our temple the same way. Only the best was allowed on the inside and we should only allow the best on our inside. This world is full of trash that can slip in if we are not careful. We must keep inventory of what we allow in. The more word of God we have the less room for any mess.
I think of the time and attention to details that the iron worker(s) had to have to create the molds for each brass/iron piece before the molten metal could be poured. Then I think of the potter and the clay- how God has a perfect plan for our lives and how he desires to add blessings to us as we go from glory to glory. How much time He spends desiring us to receive His best-if we would only lay down our life and give it to him-then He would shape us and mold us and make us beautiful in his sight. Or break us and remake us to sand off those rough edges we seem to have get life comes at us hard! Thank you Lord for still working on me so I can be approved in your sight.
7 He made ten gold Lampstands, following the specified pattern, and placed five on the right and five on the left
The increased number was not only in conformity with the characteristic splendor of the edifice, but also a standing emblem to the Hebrews, that the growing light of the word was necessary to counteract the growing darkness in the world [LIGHTFOOT].
The world can be dark and confusing. The enemy wishes to keep us in darkness. Jesus said “I am the true light.” This means that he will always shiine and beckon men to come unto him.
His light, his glory, and his drawing are all apart of the unique visage of God. No matter how dark it may be he is always the light in the darkness.
Darkness will flee.
11 And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons. And Huram finished the work that he was to make for king Solomon for the house of God;
Somewhere along the line, we have lost the value of finishing what we start….
This chapter illustrates detail. There was much detailed works accomplished and everything was placed in a specific and detailed manner. One today should strive to ensure every detail is accomplished too the best of one’s ability; pick it up, clean it up, put it up, etc. for this is the house of the Lord. The house was great in and out. The inside was just as great as the outside. Once we get someone to come to church we have to show them God is as good as we say by taking care of them after they are in the church.

censers- something that might have incense burning in it
Just think, God has so much gold that it is on his streets. When Solomon tried to honor God he even put it on the door of the temPle.
Pure Gold
20 Moreover the candlesticks with their lamps, that they should burn after the manner before the oracle, of pure gold;
21 And the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, made he of gold, and that perfect gold;
22 And the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers, of pure gold: and the entry of the house, the inner doors thereof for the most holy place, and the doors of the house of the temple, were of gold.
There were various materials needed for the temple, including pure gold. Gold has some interesting properties. Some information about gold:
“Gold is metallic, with a yellow colour when in a mass, but when finely divided it may be black, ruby, or purple. It is the most malleable and ductile metal; 1 ounce (28 g) of gold can be beaten out to 300 square feet. It is a soft metal and is usually alloyed to give it more strength. It is a good conductor of heat and electricity, and is unaffected by air and most reagents.
Gold is usually alloyed in jewellery to give it more strength, and the term carat describes the amount of gold present (24 carats is pure gold). It is estimated that all the gold in the world, so far refined, could be placed in a single cube 60 ft. on a side.”
Pure gold is beautiful but soft, easily dented and scratched. It’s beauty can still be captured in alloyed form (mixed with other metal) and being alloyed gives it more desirable qualities like strength. Yet it was pure gold that was used, pure gold that fulfilled a purpose, pure gold that had great value.
Sometimes the things God asks don’t make sense. We can be tempted to alloy God’s plan with our own ideas for success, yet we won’t see the fullness of what God has for us until we take our hands off the controls. Abraham and Sarah tried to alloy God’s plan and ended up with Ishmael, whom God did not even call a son of Abraham (Gen 22:2.) As the time of promise neared, Abraham had another encounter with God:
And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? (Genesis 17:16, 17 KJV)
*But God, this situation seems wrong, how will it work out like this?*
For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age. (Genesis 21:2-7 KJV)
The meaning of Isaac’s name deals with the idea of laughter and playfulness/games/jesting/etc. Just as pure gold may not seem entirely desirable (soft, easily hurt compared to other metals), it was part of God’s plan and the use of it for the temple yielded a beauty in the outcome that exceeded the intrinsic beauty of the pure gold. In like manner, God’s plan for Abraham and Sarah seemed laughable at times, yet the true beauty and perfection of it was revealed in the end when surrender came and then true laughter came (not *at* God’s plan but *because* of God’s plan.)
The only “alloy” we should provide for God’s plan is that of our faith. No matter how “soft” God’s plan may seem, it only gets all dented and scratched when we choose not to yield to it and remain hardened against it. God called for pure gold in the making of certain tools for the temple; in parallel, faith makes us “softened” to God’s plan so that we do not interfere with it but rather are affected by it just as soft gold became tools to act and not be just acted upon.
A later testament of faith in action, Abraham yielding to God’s plan when it didn’t make sense:
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. (Hebrews 11:17-19 KJV)

Great care was taken for the things in the house of the Lord. We too should be concerned with how the church looks today, not just the building we call church, but our bodies that are the temple of the Holy Ghost.
I woke up this morning ready to blog, to my surprise it had not changed to chapter 5 yet. So I waited it is now 7:29 and it has not changed yet; therefore I decided to check on the symbolism of the promegranate and this is what I found:
In Judaism : Pomegranates were known in Ancient Israel as the fruits which the scouts brought to Moses to demonstrate the fertility of the “promised land”. The Book of Exodus describes the me’il (“robe of the ephod”) worn by the Hebrew High Priest as having pomegranates embroidered on the hem. According to the Books of Kings the capitals of the two pillars (Jachin and Boaz) that stood in front of Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem were engraved with pomegranates. It is said that Solomon designed his coronet based on the pomegranate’s “crown” (calyx).
It is traditional to consume pomegranates on Rosh Hashana because the pomegranate, with its numerous seeds, symbolizes fruitfulness. Also, it is said to have 613 seeds, which corresponds with the 613 mitzvot or commandments of the Torah. This particular tradition is referred to in the opening pages of Ursula Dubosarsky’s novel Theodora’s Gift.
The pomegranate appeared on the ancient coins of Judea. When not in use, the handles of Torah scrolls are sometimes covered with decorative silver globes similar in shape to “pomegranates” (rimmonim) Some Jewish scholars believe that the pomegranate was the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. Pomegranates are one of the Seven Species (Hebrew: שבעת המינים, Shiv’at Ha-Minim) of fruits and grains enumerated in the Hebrew Bible (Deuteronomy 8:8) as being special products of the Land of Israel. The pomegranate is mentioned in the Bible many times, including this quote from the Songs of Solomon, “Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.” (Song of Solomon 4:3). Pomegranates also symbolize the mystical experience in the Jewish mystical tradition, or kabbalah, with the typical reference being to entering the “garden of pomegranates” or pardes rimonim.
For Egypt: Ancient Egyptians regarded the pomegranate as a symbol of prosperity and ambition.
19-22 Solomon was also responsible for the furniture and accessories in The Temple of God: the gold Altar; the tables that held the Bread of the Presence; the Lampstands of pure gold with their lamps, to be lighted before the Inner Sanctuary, the Holy of Holies; the gold flowers, lamps, and tongs (all solid gold); the gold wick trimmers, bowls, ladles, and censers; the gold doors of The Temple, doors to the Holy of Holies, and the doors to the main sanctuary.
Everything is beautiful in the house of God. But the most beautiful thing is what happens in the house of God.

The door of the temple was made of gold. The entrance to the house has been tried in the fire and is the pure way so enter in.
I cant help but note that their is so much symbolic usage in building the temple. 12 bulls= 12 tribes of Israel, they sacrifice bulls, so of course a Sea which stood on top of it was to identify, what was taking place specifically there. It held 3,000 baths, these baths are used tby the ‘preists’ to cleanse themselves after the messy sacrifice took place. 3 is a biblical # refference needing fulfillment to equal Gods perfect 10. He made 10 basins! for washing 5 on the south and 5 on the north for convienence, because this was were the rinsing of the sacrifical utensils happened. Everything was prepared and designed precisely according to each station of worshiping God. We serve and orderly God, and we can learn from Solomon’s obedience to the Lord, in building these items in preparation of worship. We have to get ready to worship, we have to get set in our lives and minds that nothing will stop us from praising God, and to get organized about it. Since I cannot nap between services, I stay up now or go to church and look for something to do, in a preperative measure nowing that I won’t want to wake up, or falling into attack when I do wake up. Like Solomon we to can get prepared and organized, ready to worship.
