2 Chronicles 5

1 Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of theLord was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.

And all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up the ark.

And they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, these did the priests and the Levites bring up.

Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of theLord unto his place, to the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:

For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.

10 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

11 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course:

12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)

13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;

14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

  1. 13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;

    Such a harmony that it could sound as one sound!!!! May God give us that unity, and may He fill His Temple @ POFW with His presence in such way that the Holy Ghost can not be contained by men but be edified, with the evidence of speaking in tongue!!!! I can’t wait to get to church!

  2. AN INVITATION TO THE GLORY OF GOD

    13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;

    There are 2 key components to AN INVITATION TO THE GLORY OF GOD.

    1. Praising GOD in with a sincere spirit of Thanksgiving. The Psalmist declares in Psalm 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Through our return of breath to our creator, whether by musical instrument or our lips giving thanks to his name along with the sound of instruments, we generate movement in the heavenly realm. The angels recognize and GOD responds to the mention of his name, Music is the channel while our voice is the invitation and declaration of HIS Glory.

    2. UNITY – The musicians and the singers were as one. Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. The Glory of GOD responds to unity above all else. There is no record in the book of Acts in chapter 2 that there was any musical instruments being played. However what is evident is that there was UNITY and our modern day GLORY cloud filled all the house where they were sitting.

    Praise GOD with all of our heart today with the spirit of thanksgiving in the mind of unity. Allow the mind of Christ to reign today.

    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iPraise

  3. v13″For he is good; and his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;”

    It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
    23. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness . Lamentations 3:22-23

    HE truly is our treasure and let’s treasure HIS WORD In our hearts. My prayer is let there be nothing in our hearts today, but adoration unto thy Holy Name, As we joyfully Praise and Honor Your Presence and Respond to Your Glory!

    Rejoice in the LORD always; and again I say Rejoice . Phil. 4:4
    iPray
    iRejoice
    iGive

  4. When praising the Lord a cloud came over them…..and filled the room.
    This is why I, we praise the Lord cause He can move over us with His power and His raincloud can move anything. I would rather do that then not praise Him and not have no movement in my life. Which I need more of God and less of everything else.
    I pray today that I can praise with truth and spirit that way His cloud can reighn(rain) over my life.Gotta praise Him!!

  5. ILove to eat breakfast with Jesus

    The Old, The New

    The Old
    120 priests – Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) (2 Chronicles 5:12 KJV)

    The New
    120 in the upper room – And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,) (Acts 1:15 KJV)

    The Old
    Sacrifice – Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude. (2 Chronicles 5:6 KJV)

    The New
    The Sacrifice – But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; (Hebrews 10:12 KJV)

    The Old
    Unity- It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; (2 Chronicles 5:13 KJV)

    The New
    Unity- And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (Acts 2:1

    The Old
    It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; (2 Chronicles 5:13 KJV)

    The New
    And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. (Acts 2:2 KJV)

  6. This chapter illustrates gratefulness. They sacrificed, they worshiped and God filled the house to where the priest could not minister. Today we have all the more to worship, for Jesus became our sacrifice and he paid it all with his blood. Therefore one should gratefully do their part to welcome in the Spirit of the Lord in the same manner. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  7. 12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)
    13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;
    14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

    How awesome it must have been to see God’s presences in that place. It goes to show how important music is to God. Music ushers in the presence of God and allows Him to flow. There was a whole class of angels set aside just to worship God, and they all fell when the devil was cast out. This is one reason why the enemy does not want us to praise God , because he knows shat can happen when people get together to worship God.

  8. The people came together in such a powerful way that the Lord felt right at home. The glory of the Lord was so strong that it stopped everything even the minister. That is what we are after. If we could get to that level it would change the way we have church. God wants to put a cloud of glory on our church we just have to believe it and get in one accord

  9. 13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;

    Oh to see the entire congregation of POFW to be in unity in worship so much that the spirit fills the temple like this…

  10. So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

    This is what happens when we are in unity and worship and praise God with ONE voice.

  11. 13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for
    his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;

    13 The choir and trumpets made one voice of praise and thanks to God – orchestra and choir in perfect harmony singing and playing praise to God: Yes! God is good! His loyal love goes on forever! MSG

    I can’t wait to see POFW in perfect harmony singing and worshiping the Lord.

  12. Vs. 13-14, ” It came to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.”

    I Thank God for Sis. Watts and for her dedication and love for the music ministry. I thank God for the musicians, praise singers, and choir in our church, for when you come together as one sound, it ushers in the presence of God.

    POFW let’s always remember to pray for our MUSIC MINISTRY TEAM and for the anointing of God upon each of them.

  13. 13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;

    14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

    No one person or individual was heard above another-that’s true harmony musically but to God was so much greater. To God it was their unity in the praise between singers & musicians that was key! It was also the sacrifices the people brought as well as what they spoke that prompted such an outpouring or manifestation of Gods presence. In unity they entered his courts with praise and entered his gates with thanksgiving! There’s no limit to what God will do “suddenly” in our midst! I’m believing Him for surprises all along the way! Today we had 6 grandchildren in God’s house: 1 was the baby was not expected to live to full term (but did & is 6 wks old) & 1 received the Holy Ghost in G-Force! I love God’s surprises! Thank you Jesus! You are so good to us!

  14. Verse 13 MSG reads “The choir and trumpets made one voice of praise and thanks to God—orchestra and choir in perfect harmony singing and playing praise to God: Yes! God is good! His loyal love goes on forever! Then a billowing cloud filled The Temple of God.”

    They all came together to make one voice of praise and thanks to God. To make one voice, you must be unified or harmonized in such a way that you are one. This reminds me of a song we would sing at my Dad’s church:

    Unidos, unidos
    En tu Nombre unidos
    Unidos, unidos

    Translation:
    Together (united), Together (united)
    In your name together (united)
    Together (united), together (united)
    In your name together (united)

    For in this world we will have peace and love
    For in this world we will have peace and love.

    Together (united), always united
    By taking the hands
    We’ll go around the world singing to God

    The glory of Jesus shine at last
    And the world filled with love and peace.

  15. And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course:

    When the priests arrived they were ready to minister, they didn’t come unprepared. As leaders we should come prepared much the same way. Our hearts and minds need to be focused and ready to lead along with our spirits. There are people who can’t afford to wait on us to get ready. We need to be ready.

  16. 10 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
    only the law was in the ark. No miracle, the staff. None of the other stuff either, just the law.

    14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.
    When they all got in one sound in the one place God came in so thick that man could no longer minister, God had to minister when they all praised together. (God can always do a better job than man anyway.)

  17. Unity In Praise

    It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God. (2 Chronicles 5:13, 14 KJV)

    “It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord…”

    It is my prayer for the praise team that we would be unified as one instrument for God. There is power in unity and in unity we can yield to the power of God flowing through us and become active vessels for His work.

  18. As 120 priests play trumpets and a choir praises God in unison of cymbals and other instruments, the ‘glory of the Lord’ fills the newly completed temple. This fullfils His promise. The ‘glory of the Lord’ is mentioned throughout Scripture:
    *Something to be strive in obedience for:
    Lev 9:6 Then Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded you to do,so that the glory of the LORD may appear to you.”
    *Will leave when his people forget Him
    Eze 10:4Then the glory of the LORD rose from above the cherubim and moved. (&18)
    *Judge with correction
    Ex 16:7 and in the morning you will see the glory of the LORD, because he has heard your grumbling against him.
    *Settles in with His people
    Ex 24:16 and the glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai.1Ki 8:11 The LORD’s glory filled his temple.

    The glory cloud, representing Gods presence protected and led His people through there journey out of Egypt (Ex 13:21). God descended in the cloud to speak to the Isrealites during times of crisis (Nu 12:5). At the dedication of the tabernacle, the cloud covered the tent and Gods glory filled it (Ex 40:34-35). And here at the temple dedication, Gods glory cloud fills the temple as a sign to Israel that God is real and active in their lives.

    I am covinced that this ‘glory of the Lord’ they speak of here is the same Holy Ghost we have indwelling in us.Centuries later, God’s glory comes to earth through His Son Jesus. The only difference is they didnt have it indwelling as a gift and I belived didnt obtain it fully because they were still under the law, hence we offered it now after Jesus’ ressurection. Consider what Paul says in: 2 Co 3:17 “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” NLT ..and
    Heb 1:3 “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”

  19. Vs 13 & 14 When we sincerely offer up praise to the Lord, he will show up as he dwells in the praises of his people.

  20. Verses 13 and 14 sum up what God really wants from His people. Worship and praise! All are prayers can not give us what God wants to give us if we will just praise Him. When I first got saved I remember skipping down the main street of my home town. A grown young man skipping in public! LOL! and I also had the quiet praise times when I would softly say the name of Jesus,such a lovely name Oh how I love the name of Jesus!. And now let the weak say I am strong let the poor say I am rich ,because of what the Lord has done for us give thanks!!

    l

  21. 14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

    This verse is so amazing it speaks of the glory and power of God filling His house. I can remember times in services were the power of God was that strong. I have seen it several times and it is glorius. I hope that we as a church can all see God’s glory in this manner it is something you will never forget.
