2 Chronicles 29

1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was five and twenty years old, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father had done.

He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.

And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street,

And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of theLord, and turned their backs.

Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.

Wherefore the wrath of the Lord was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

For, lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.

10 Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LordGod of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

12 Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites: and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehalelel: and of the Gershonites; Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah:

13 And of the sons of Elizaphan; Shimri, and Jeiel: and of the sons of Asaph; Zechariah, and Mattaniah:

14 And of the sons of Heman; Jehiel, and Shimei: and of the sons of Jeduthun; Shemaiah, and Uzziel.

15 And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the Lord, to cleanse the house of the Lord.

16 And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the Lord, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the Lord into the court of the house of the Lord. And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad into the brook Kidron.

17 Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the Lord: so they sanctified the house of theLord in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.

18 Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the Lord, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof.

19 Moreover all the vessels, which king Ahaz in his reign did cast away in his transgression, have we prepared and sanctified, and, behold, they are before the altar of theLord.

20 Then Hezekiah the king rose early, and gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of the Lord.

21 And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the Lord.

22 So they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar: likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the altar: they killed also the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar.

23 And they brought forth the he goats for the sin offering before the king and the congregation; and they laid their hands upon them:

24 And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.

25 And he set the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of theLord by his prophets.

26 And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

27 And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the Lord began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.

28 And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

29 And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped.

30 Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the Lord with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

31 Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the Lord, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the Lord. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.

32 And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregation brought, was threescore and ten bullocks, an hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the Lord.

33 And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.

34 But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

35 And also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings, and the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the house of the Lord was set in order.

36 And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

  1. v11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. Psalms 65:4

Serving GOD requires a disciplined life of separation of all that is ungodliness.
” Come out from among them, and be separate” the LORD said,” I will receive you.”
That’s encouraging to know HE will receive us
We have the reward of HIS fellowship here on earth and in our eternal life with HIM forever.

We must be faithful to the work the LORD has given us. Each of us have a part in winning souls and of the building of GOD’S church.
We have been called to be witnesses of HIS NAME.
Wherever we serve in the body of JESUS CHRIST, let us gladly and humbly serve as ministers to the needs of others. At the POFW we care about the hurting souls.

  2. 29:5-11 Hezekiah’s speech demonstrates again the Chronicler’s convictions about the coherence of action and effect: The sins of the past brought difficulty and judgement, but renewed fidelity brings relief.

  3. v36 And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that GOD had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

GOD made preparations for our salvation on Calvary. It is” CHRIST in you the hope of glory” Col.1:27
GOD has prepares us for the eternal life to come. When a sinner repents and experiences the new birth and is filled with the Holy Ghost, the POFW REJOICE! We all rejoice when increases comes. 5. The great apostasy ‘rubbish vs5’ of Ahaz paved the way for the repentant reforms of Hezekiah. Hezekiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord “according to all that his father David had done.”(vs2). A king od Judah has not been compared to David since the days of Jehosaphat, almost 150 years before his reign (2Chr 17:3). Hezekiahs reign is reminiscent of the faithful reigns of David and Solomon (2Chr 30:26). Hezekiah was a king who acted in complete faithfulness toward the temple, as had David and Solomon. He ordered the Levites to sactify themselves vs5-17, restored the sacrifices vs20-24, stationed musicians vs25-30, and encouraged the full participation of all Israel in apostolic temple worship vs31-36. He even kept a joyful feast for 14days (2Chr 30:21-23). The celebration of the Passover and Unleaven Bread, are to be 2 seperate feasts. However, because the Feast of Unleaven Bread follows immediately after Passover, both feasts are sometimes reffered to as Passover. For celebrating the feasts, Hezekiah was blessed by the Lord with prosperity, a strong army, victory, and tribute. Through Hezekiah’s example the people learned repentance, forgiveness, and restored blessing. Restoring our relationship with the Lord is something the angels rejoice over. Now imagine a nation reforming their lives and relationships back to God fully I would imagine this to toss all heaven into a party. Theirs no party like a Holy Ghost party because a Holy Ghost party dont stop! 🙂

  6. And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

What a scripture on repentence! Sanctify yourself and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place. In Corinthians, the word says, “Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you”? We are the holy place of God and we must be sanctified for him to dwell within us!

  7. vs 35 -36 Things were put in order and the king and people rejoiced. God has a plan, and order and obedience is part of it. Everyone is happier when they are obeying God.

  8. ILove to eat breakfast with Jesus

Unfortunately I’ve run out of time this morning, but I do want to say…

36 And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

There is a “Sudden” blessing coming… The Ship of Alexiandria is already built.

  9. Process to Revival

In a daring response to the wickedness of King Ahaz, Hezekiah began the process of cleansing.

5 And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

6 For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of theLord, and turned their backs.

    Repent

To undo what was done, the Levites had to repent, turn back to God, and sanctify themselves.

Once leadership were made ready they then went into the temple.

    Purify

Next they removed every inch of idolatry that had made its way into the temple.

Then in 16 days time they had finally restored the temple.

    The Word

Thy relit the candles, and they baked fresh bread.

    Prayer

They burned off incense unto God.

    Offerings

Once the temple was ready they called the people to ready themselves, bring offerings, and sacrifices.

    Worship

Then they sang, and worshipped God. Once the people were prepared now God was ready to speak, save, and deliver.

  10. And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished. (2 Chronicles 29:28 KJV)
Pastor talks to us all the time about the length of our praise. When you are really in a pickle and want God to save you it doesn’t matter who is watching or how long it takes, you praise until it is finished. The verses go in to talk about how loud and other things used, but I think that it is super important that they praised until it was finished!

  11. 34 But the priests were too few,

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Luke 10:2

I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. John 4:38

In studying this passage I began to understand that the harvest is great, not because of what has been accomplished in the last 20 years, but because of the work that has been sown into this city and region since the early part of the last century to grow a people of God. 100 years of planting and working the ground has gone into Fort Worth now we are on the verge of reaping a harvest that we are not entirely responsible for. As the people of Judah are beginning to see in this chapter, maybe the house of God had been closed up, maybe the last generation didn’t serve him the way they needed to. But the doors are open, and it’s time to worship God again.

Realization has come to me that we might not have the workers, or staff at POFW to handle the souls that are fixing to be layed upon the alter, but God never required numbers to bless, he only asked for a willingness to obey. If twelve disciples could handle 3000 new converts in a day, then what can 300 handle.

  12. Read chapter out of message bible-
To me thid chapter sounds exactly what the pofw does at church everytime there’s a service and all the jobs that are preformed at the pofw to keep it up and running properly for the kingdom of God.
There’s cleaning driving buses, fellowship, singing, and preaching, teaching, elders working..ectall for the Lord of Lotds and not what ee can get from Him but because we love Him and chereish the KING!
This chapter was about a man of God who took responsibility to run the temple according to the WORD OF GOD and all the duties that the Lord told Him to do…there’s sacrifices to give…there’s duties to give..and to singing to give with all types of instruments unto the Lord.
I’m glad that I go to a church that teaches me to be a cheerful giver in all ways of life cause not only that but God sees all of what we do and hears our praises also.
Thank you Lord for forgiving us for our tresspasses and teaching us to forgive others this is another way to give unto you -Jesus.

  13. 10 Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LordGod of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

He was willing to fight for what was right! He did not just have a good thought one day to do right but there was a burning desire in his heart to make things right. At that moment he built a memorial in his life to make sure his will and the will of the people where no longer important but God’s will must come first.

He goes on to charge them to stand, serve, and minister. We can take that same charge today. I’m so excited about the opportunities God has In store for POFW. Let us go in unity to stand for the Gospel, serve the King of kings by serving this region, and minister to Him with our praise and Worship.

  14. 3-9 In the first month of the first year of his reign, Hezekiah, having first repaired the doors of The Temple of God, threw them open to the public. He assembled the priests and Levites in the court on the east side and said, “Levites, listen! Consecrate yourselves and consecrate The Temple of God—give this much-defiled place a good housecleaning. Our ancestors went wrong and lived badly before God—they discarded him, turned away from this house where we meet with God, and walked off. They boarded up the doors, turned out the lights, and canceled all the acts of worship of the God of Israel in the holy Temple. And because of that, God’s anger flared up and he turned those people into a public exhibit of disaster, a moral history lesson—look and read! This is why our ancestors were killed, and this is why our wives and sons and daughters were taken prisoner and made slaves. MSG

Let’s not let this happen to us. Don’t live your life thinking you are right when you are living wrong. Turn your hearts to God and let him be the center of your life.

  15. Let the songs of the Lord Rise among us, Let them Rise, Let them Rise!

    GLORY to GOD!
We have a reason to Worship our LORD, He has given His All for us.
I humble my self at your feet , KING OF KINGS, and LORD OF LORDS! There is NONE LIKE YOU!!
Creator of the heavens and the earth. OH GOD BLESSED IS THY MIGHTY NAME!!!!
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (John 4:23 KJV)

    • Watch out you little devil, you’re having a bad day!!!!
There is an ARMY RISING UP!!!! Love reading these comments on the blog this morning! Thanks POFW… You guys ROCK!

  16. It’s never too late

What a mess Hezekiah had to clean up. It took eight days for the inside to be cleaned and another eight days for the outside to be cleansed. When we find ourselves in a mess, sometimes it takes hard work, time and others to help us resolve issues. We have to start somewhere. I know I have found myself in messy situations and felt overwhelmed by the magnitude of the filth/disarray/confusion. However, once in the process of cleaning up the time seemed to go quickly.

Nothing feels as good as a job well done. Looking back on what you started with and comparing it to the end product can be very satisfying moment.

  17. Please say a prayer for I have tried to post my comments without any success. I am at work & hoping it will work here.

It is a sad day when a ruler (politician) has to tell the priesthood to get their act together. To clean the filthiness out of the Holy place and do their job.

I am so very thankful for a Pastor who fears the Lord!!!!! To watch him love the Lord the way he does fills my heart with gladness. God has blessed us with the greatest Pastor and I pray for him & Sis Watts for thanks to them my soul does not go hungry anymore. I will always want more of HIM in my life but thanks to a man that listens to the Holy Spirit of God, I no longer go home in dispair. Do not take your Pastor for granted, for you have no idea how blessed you are.

34 But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

The Harvest is ready, and although I believe that our Pastor will continue even if no one else did; it is time to shape up, move, speak the truth outloud, for I hear them in my prayer crying of hunger. It is time to feed their hearts love, feed their spirit truth, and bring them to His House.

  18. He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.

5 And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LordGod of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

He did not waste time! He feared and valued God and did not waste time but went straight to work. God is calling us back. He wants to do great things but it requires consecration. A cleansing of our mind and heart to be pure before the Lord. To be able to move forward we must remove any filthiness from the temple, our temple, ourselves…a living sacrifice. And we must be serious about a change in “us” to change the world around us. To make a heart covenant with the Lord to surrender fully. I believe we can do this but it takes unity. We all have to be on the same ship staying submitted to the captain, man of God, obeying all that he says for the words are from the Lord.

  19. This chapter illustrates returning. Hezekiah did what was right before the Lord as such he wasted little time in preparing the house of the Lord, so they could make atonement for their sins. Hezekiah’s intentions were for all to return; “And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah”. One can see in the Word of God that his coming draweth nearer. Therefore all must prepare for there will be a returning of hungry souls, for the time is at hand and the labors are few; “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few”. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  20. Once the house of the Lord was put back in order, the people in place, the music began, the singing started, the worship began and then the sacrifices were brought. So many sacrifices brought that the Levites had to step in and help offer prepare the sacrifices for the altar. This is a revelation of what needs to transpire in our lives. We need to repair any breaches in our lives between us and the house of God. Then get in the place we know we need to be, begin praising and worshipping God, bring our sacrifice of ourselves and lay it on the altar, bring a thank offering unto the Lord, have everything set in order then rejoice as we feel the confirmation of God’s acceptace as He receives what we bring unto Him and He prepares us.

  21. THE RISING OF A REVIVAL ARMY

10 Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LordGod of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.
11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.
    12 Then the Levites arose,

There are many revelations, illustrations and demonstrations represented here in chapter 29. I will comment on a few, then trust and challenge others to bring wisdom and understanding where I have missed.

    1. Everything rises and falls on Leadership – We have witnessed over the past month the rise and fall of Judah and Israel frequently. Every fall is connected to the Leadership demonstrated as well every rise is connected to the hearts desire, drive and desperation of the Leadership. THE RISING OF A REVIVAL ARMY begins with a Leader that desires REVIVAL. (Restoring or bringing back that which once was)

The Leader did his part in opening the doors. 3 He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them. POFW the DOORS are OPEN!

    2. The efficiency and effectiveness of the RISING ARMY is connected to willingness of the servants to submit and obey their chosen calling.

vs. 11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him

    3. Doing the dirty work. This is where many are lost in the process. Too many people want the chief jobs, the easy, quick, less invasion, clean, high profile jobs. Not here. We witness what teamwork can do.

vs. 15 And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the Lord, to cleanse the house of the Lord.
    17. … and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the Lord: so they sanctified the house of theLord in eight days; Teamwork and 8 days.

    4. REVIVAL NOW is a message GOD gave me for POFW in 2003 and here we see it again. It can and will happen so fast, we do not have enough Ministers right now.

36 And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it FILLED all the HOUSE!

    Sacrifice, Repentance, Worship then Praise.

  22. ILove to eat “The Last Lunch” with Jesus

Draw Near To God, THEN He Will Draw Near to You.

30 Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the Lord with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: (Isaiah 1:16-19 KJV)Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: (Isaiah 1:16-19 KJV)

  23. God has prepared his people the harvest is set. We have been equipped and made ready to take the city. Let’s go to battle! The Lord will do a quick work suddenly!!
    Sis Ward

  24. 28 And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

29 And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him bowed themselves, and worshipped.

    The Power of Praise:
The worship of the congragation and the singers that sang caused the king himself to bow down and worship. The power of praise is amazing even when things are going wrong if you just praise you can praise yourself right through your trials!!! I know I have done it before! I am thankful for a God who responds to the praises of his people.

  25. And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the Lord began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.

And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished.

Reading this passage made me think of this: sacrifice is death, even now God calls us to sacrifice things in our lives. Its painful, hard, and can be messy but to please God we go through with it. However sometimes our attitude isn’t right and we are just doing it because we think we have to. We may complain or mope around or even get mad, our hearts are not always in it. But if we could approach sacrifices in our lives as they did here, lifting up God, praising and worshipping Him through the pain until the process is complete, then we for starters will be better off and it won’t allow any roots of bitterness or anything else to get planted in our spirits. We will be able to rejoice in a new freedom once it is over.

  26. So much can be said about this chapter, but the one thing that stood out to me was verse 11. It says, ” My sons, be not now negligent: for the LORD hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.”

This made me think of the scriptures found in 1 Timothy 4:13-16. ” Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.”

We cannot afford to neglect the gifts, talents, and calling God has put upon our lives, because if we do, people will be lost. Until he comes, he wants us to continue Reading His Word, Encouraging One Another, and Share His Gospel with the world.

  27. This Chosen Generation.

11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

The Bible says that we are the chosen generation. That we are of a royal priesthood. Think about it, God chose us. You and me to be apart of this time in history of the world to worship Him. I often wondered why God didnt put me in another era, and as I was thinking the Holy Spirit said that it was because I might not have made it in another era. God chose me for this time in life for me to be.

  28. The last verse seems to imply that the people were ready. They just needed prodding from leadership. Hezekiah became that leader who took a stand and the people followed. We all need a little housecleaning so our temples are ready for God. Then He will do a quick thing in us as He did then. “For God prepared the people and it was done suddenly”

  29. The people rejuiced because of the suddenness of the revival and because it produced a glimmer of hole for better future for Judah
    ( P.O.F.W.). But this was only the beginning for Hezekiah’s ( P.O.F.W.).

  30. I love the commitment of Hezekiah. He wasted no time in setting things in order.

3 He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.

Thank the Lord for men and women that will provide a place for people to come and find salvation.

  31. 36 And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.

God had prepared the people so that when Hezekiah declared they were to open & cleanse God’s house-things fell right into place and it was done “suddenly”! God gave the people a heart to return to him and a heart to work, and that is what God is doing in the region of Fort Worth!

  32. He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the Lord, and repaired them.

without opening the doors you cant get inside to repair.

This is the first step at the altar. We have to open the doors to our hearts and let Jesus in to repair it. He just knocks at the door till we open it.

Notice that the first thing he did was repair the ouse of the Lord. Gos likes things to be in order. When the house gets to be a mess he doesnt want to stay there. making God comfortable in his own house is the key. We are only servants in Gods house. Usher in the presence of the Lord by cleaning ourselves up. This is one of the main rewasons to always look your best. We are representing jesus all the time, not just when we are at church. So dress yourself for success. Success with winning souls. You dont invite your freindsover to a dirty house. Most of the time people only clean when they know they have company coming. iF WE WANT JESUS TO STAY IN OUR COMPANY WE MIGHT WANT TO KEEP OUR LIVES CLEAN ALL THE TIME.

  33. 5 And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (1 Peter 4:17, 18 KJV)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1, 2 KJV)

There must be purity in the house of God. It must begin with each of us. Souls are counting on our salvation.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. (Hosea 10:12 KJV)

    iSow
    iReap

  34. 18 Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the Lord, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof.

A celebration of rejoicing in the Lord was at hand. It’s never too late to repent and follow God. The people cleaned the house of the Lord they felt washed and in need of giving sacrifices to the Lord.

Lord cleanse me clean white as snow.

  35. 8 Wherefore the wrath of the Lord was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

9 For, lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.
10 Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LordGod of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.
11 My sons, be not now negligent: for the Lord hath chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that ye should minister unto him, and burn incense.

Two big things here, one is that as Hezekiah realized that the people were suffering for the wrong that they all had been doing and wanted to get right. When we repent we do the same. We take note of the wrong that not only we do, but also what we have been taught, and take steps to correct it, since true repentance is turning away from our sin, not to return to it.

The second thing was that Hezekiah encouraged the priests to worship, and put a holy reverence back into service. We too should take note of this. I was talking to my girls the other day and God had been dealing with me already, but it sealed it when I told them, if they are picked, by their teachers, or pastor, then they need not worry about their inaddaquicies, but trust that God set them in that place, and they need to do it to thebest of their ability.

  36. The Levites then took their positions around the Temple with the instruments of David, and the priests took their positions with the trumpets.
Then Hezekiah ordered that the burnt offering be placed on the altar. As the burnt offering was presented, songs of praise to the LORD were begun, accompanied by the trumpets and other instruments of David, the former king of Israel. The entire assembly worshiped the LORD as the singers sang and the trumpets blew, until all the burnt offerings were finished. Then the king and everyone with him bowed down in worship. (2 Chronicles 29:26-29 NLT)

I hear the sound of VICTORY! This is true unity in worship!
