2 Chronicles 30

1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the Lord God of Israel.

For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.

So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the Lord God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.

So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the Lord God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for theLord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

10 So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.

11 Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.

12 Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the Lord.

13 And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

14 And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.

15 Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the Lord.

16 And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.

17 For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the Lord.

18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good Lord pardon every one

19 That prepareth his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

20 And the Lord hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

21 And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the Lordday by day, singing with loud instruments unto the Lord.

22 And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the Lord: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the Lord God of their fathers.

23 And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.

24 For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

25 And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.

26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

27 Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

  1. 12 Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the Lord.

    One heart

I believe God is calling POFW to a place of unity; a place of one heart and mind. Let us put on the mind of Christ, that we could be about our Father’s business.

  2. ILove to eat breakfast with Jesus

    Prayer of Intercession

18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good Lord pardon every one

Hezekiah stepped into the gap and made intercession for the priests. And God heard.

20 And the Lord hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

God wants to heal folks but he’s waiting on the church to make intercession and believe.

The Bishop told us Sunday Night that there were going to miracles in the house of God…use us Lord, use POFW.

  3. Repentance = To make a change for the better as a result of remorse or contrition for one’s sins.

Repent is not what the majority of the people think, yes it does come from the french word repentir : re-, re- + pentir, to be sorry but it does not end there you MUST make a change.

So check yourselves, see deep in your heart are you holding to some altars that need to be disposed off? Resentment, anger, unforgiveness, etc. could become altars to idols if you don’t get rid of them. Yes, the moment you don’t forgive someone they become an altar in your heart that will corrupt your life and stop your prayers before they get to the Lord.

  4. Hezekiah celebrated Passover, a feast to which all Israel is invited “from Beersheba th Dan” mentioned in: vs.5,10,11. Ephraim and Manasseh are typical terms denoting the nothern kingdom (vs1). According to the Law, the feast could be delayed until the 2nd month (Numbers 9:9-11). The celebration of the Passover, recalling escape from Egypt, was appropriate since Judah had “escaped from the hand of the king of Assyria” (vs6). Looking back on what God has pulled them out of in the past, helps them see the blessing God has given them with their present escape. Where there is sin, repentance and restoration may also be found (vs6-9). God gives us victories when we are obedient and turn to him, when nations turn to him, God blesses that nation with victory and blessing. It is right that Hezekiah reached out to the northern kingdom of Israel, even though they arent under his reign, he knows they where brought out by the same God, blessed by the same God, and need to return back to the same God.

Today’s out reach is commonly to a people who have been taught to believe in God, but do not follow His ways which religion may have contorted (ex:Inquisitions & trinitarian gospel). In NT times Paul, a Jew wanted so much to reach the Jews, those who knew the Law, but didn’t accept Jesus as God, was sent to reach the Gentiles. Peter wanted to reach the Gentiles, which he also was, to bring about repentance and the Lords salvation, was sent to reach the Jews. Praise the Lord, for nobody is left out of our comission! we are comissioned to reach the lost, to be grafted into the tree of life regardless the background of the person. Therefore let us not leave any soul:man, woman,or child behind 🙂 here in Fort Worth.

  5. Continued….

In the Parable of the Great Feast found in Matt 22:1-14 Jesus explains heaven to be like a great wedding feast which a great man invited his friends and they ignored it. Our part is to send, and deliver the invitation, when the Jews ignored Jesus as being God, the invitation was extended to us Gentiles, to be grafted in which I mentioned earlier. Once we extend that invitation and it is ignored we too are called to shake the dust from our sandals, and keep trucking. We are Jesus’ ambassadors. The wedding spoken of is between God and His church ‘us’ and we are all invited to partake, of course beit we follow his decrees ‘one being commemorating in unison for His miraculous works’ we must bond, ‘be in one accord’ and behave in such fellowship to be apart of ‘one body’ His church body/bride which we may spend eternity being. Jesus is our reward, and inheritance, we will live in His home ‘heaven’ that great feast is extended to everyone.

Luke 10:2 “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.

  6. 27 Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the
people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

Are your prayers going up or sitting still? This is a question I believe all God’s children should ask themselves. Our prayers should catch an audience with God every time we lift up our voice to him. Don’t allow your prayer to stand still because you’re asking God for the wrong thing. If we allow God to lead every aspect of our life, we can’t go wrong.

  7. 12 Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the Lord.

    Unity:
When I read this it means that God put it in them to be with one heart. God wanted them to be unified. Unity can do wonders for a situation or nation. Many times you hear a house divided will fall (it is Biblical too). The king got many opinions as to whether or not they should have the feast. It said they all agreed–unity. Then the princes went out and posted the information–unity, if they weren’t unified they would not have gone. Toward the end of the chapter it says their joy was great and it reached to heaven–unity got it there!

Let’s be unified! Don’t complain or fight with your neighbor. Unite with them. Good, Godly change happens when we unify to bless the Lord.

  8. This chapter talks about picking up your cross and following Jesus with everything you have. I thank you Jesus that we can cime to your throne riom and asj you to take over our life.

  9. Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you. (2 Chronicles 30:8 KJV)
I’m so thankful for God’s mercy upon my life.
And for people who were put into my life to show me the way, truth, and the life. But it took someone that had a burden for souls, a genuine love for people, compassion, but most of all Loce for people. At one point in my life u could say that perhaps I was once ‘stiffnecked’ but it was through the Love Of A Saviour that drew me to my knees, and as I cried out to Him, He heard me in the deepest, darkest, and loneliness night of my Life.
Now my desire is to call out as Hezekiah did.
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. (Luke 14:23 KJV)
It’s RELATIONSHIP between GOD and His creation…..People!
There is work that needs to be done here in this region, SOULS, A.L.M.A.S are hurting and crying out. Can you hear them? Jesus!!!!!!

  10. 18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written.

Talk about intercession. We can read this and know that this is what Pastor does for each one of us. He prays for us and interceeds for us too. Thank you Jesus for a Pastor that will stand in the way of the enemy for me.

  11. This chapter illustrates order. Hezekiah’s purpose was to return order and direction; “Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.” Although there were those that wanted no part of it, there were many that did. The Word of God must and shall go forth, and although there are those that want no part of it, there are many that do. For this very reason we must also extend an invitation to all just as Hezekiah did, so all that want Jesus can be reached. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  12. Lord, save the fish!

The brook Kidron is getting full of discards from Judah. Today alters are being thrown in the brook, yesterday in chapter 29 “all the uncleanness” was cast into the brook. Some believe this brook runs through the Valley of the Shadow of Death David was referring to in Psalms 23. What a dreary place this must be.

Then there is the parallel side where the unclean is baptized in the brook for the remission of sin; just like we do today. The same goes for the alters in today’s chapter. They were baptized. One scholar believes the brook is 1,200 feet deep at some points. That would hold a lot of uncleanness. Thank God his forgiveness is limitless!

  13. 26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

27 Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

Hezekiah was a man of God who strove to do the will of God for His people. In doing so there was great joy bacause there was never another since Solomon to do the great things that he did. Even the other ministry (Levites) were able to bless the people of God and all prayers were heard in heaven of anyone who prayed. When people in leadership do the will of God and strive to be pleaseing to God they not only bless themself but everyone that is under them as well.

  14. 18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written.

God’s grace is evident is these scriptures where he accepted those seeking him with their whole heart. We too came to God sinners and through his favor, he brought us to the place of repentance and being born again. Where would we be without grace? God’s love to his people is evident all throughout the Bible-just as his judgement for rebellion is evident. (However, his judgement for rebellion comes after a man of God brings them warnings to turn again to the Lord) In this chapter, these people all had the choice to either serve the Lord or serve the gods of the heathen. And the congregation that responded to turn to the Lord was very great! There was a shortage of laborers-but the task of receiving the offerings was managed and there was great joy during this passover celebration. POFW may feel like we are short on laborers when we have a great congregation of people to serve, but everything WILL get done and there will be great joy in our celebration when we sing “Look what the Lord has done!”

  15. I thank God for His mercy and grace. He has shown me many things that me and my family must endure so that we may be prepared to do our part for the kingdom. i pray for unity in my house and in the house of the Lord. POFW is getting into position for a miricle, as we go out and bring people in, we must lead by example. the spirit of the Lord is contagious, if we keep our worship for the Lord on high, it has to overflow to the people on the right, left in front and behind us. unity is needed and it starts with the heart

  16. THE RISK AND RETURN OF EVANGELISM

6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the Lord God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

The King had established an invitation for all of Israel from North to South and East to West. The invitation was simply for the people to return to GOD. This is much like our daily/weekly evangelistic, outreach efforts. The King sent “posts” to deliver the invitations.

POSTS – 7323. ruwts, roots; to run (for whatever reason, especially to rush):—break down, divide speedily, footman, guard, bring hastily, (make) run (away, through), post.

The posts were those that delivered the invitations to all the people to return to the sanctuary of the LORD. Much like our Evangelism efforts today some were received and appreciated while others were rejected and frustrated.

    MSG
10-11 So the couriers set out, going from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, as far north as Zebulun. But the people poked fun at them, treated them as a joke. But not all; some from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun weren’t too proud to accept the invitation and come to Jerusalem.

In certain areas pride ruled and they were made fun of and ridiculed while being rejected, while others were humbly receptive and responded. In evangelism our efforts are to simply give an invitation from King JESUS to the sanctuary of the LORD. The return is very rewarding:

25 And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.
26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.
27 Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.

Everyone that returned rejoiced along with those that invited them and the blessing of the LORD was upon them all.

Thank you JESUS for the posts, reapers and gleaners at The POFW.

  17. The cry to return to the one true and living God goes forth from the King and delivered to all the people. Some accepted the invitation, some did not. They came to the Passover feast, prepared themselves and celebrated in the presence of the Lord.

This is God’s desire for anyone who has left the path of His commands. He is not willing that any should perish but that all have eternal life. He stand with open arms, grace and mercy present to extend to anyone who will prepare themselves to return by repenting of their wrong doing, changing their direction and accepting His invitation to return to the true way.

  18. 17 For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the Lord.

Hezekiah understood that the condition of the heart was more important than keeping ceremonies. So he made intercession on behalf of the people.

When we come into His presence with praise, worship, and prayer we must have a sincere heart.

  19. ILove to eat water with Jesus

You Return then He Will Return

Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

    GOD IS WAITING ON US

  20. And be not like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD GOD of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye seek.
v8 Now be ye not stiffnecked,as hour fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter info his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your GOD, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

One must have faith in GOD that’s the only thing that brings a person to victory!
” For whatsoever is born of GOD overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
    1 John 5:4

Faith will keep us on the pathway of righteousness even when things go wrong. We have the assurance that ” GOD orders our
    every step. Psalms 37:32

I’m encouraged today with faith! If GOD has calls us His children we should believe it. Have faith in His promises and live like His children.
Not stiffnecked like our fathers and brethren which trespassed against the LORD GOD but yield yourselves unto the LORD; and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever; and serve the LORD your GOD,that the fierrceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
When we have faith in the WORD OF GOD that moves us toward receiving what HE has promised us. …… GOD help us to have the heart that we would believe the preaching of the WORD OF GOD.

Why not have complete confidence in HIS FAITHFULNESS ? In the ONE who has the power to deny death.

    iPray
    iYield
    iServe
    iBelieve
    iAm HIS child.

  21. 9 For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for theLord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 CH 7:14 kjv

His mercies are new every morning… The mercy and grace that God extends unto every one is an example of His great heart and love for people His creation. We as children of God, and having Christ in us are to be an extension of that love. We all have committed sin, we all have failed at one point or another, but His grace and His Love which covers a multitude of sin gave us the way back to our Lord. It starts with us! Do not be intimidated that you cannot go out and reach someone that you are not worthy because there is sin in your life…return to God, humble yourself and seek His face turning away from sin. We have a great call to reach others, and it is a crucial time to do it, bit the minute you step out there you are stepping into the battlefield. There are mines, bombs, fire being shot from every direction that you may not be able to see..one of the major ones will be the enemy bringing condemnation into your mind that your heart may believe and make you feel unfit to do the Lord’s work. This is why God is cleaning up house, and giving some wake up calls. We can’t play around with sin and unrighteousness things anymore because there are many souls out there dying looking for hope hoping to see the light. We are called to be the light but if your spiritual light bulb is dimmed how can they see their way out off darkness and “hell”. The time is now, and it’s urgent, not just for the sake of the souls, but the sake of our own salvation. There are so many souls out there that need us, but we need to start making some decisions wether to continue entertaining the devil with carnal and sinful things, or come whole-heartedly to the Lord and surrender all to Him. God’s ways are always better. You cannot go out there without you going to Him first. It’s for our soul…it’s for the souls.

  22. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all with one accord in one place. They were all filled with the Holy Ghost! As we become 1 in God and filled up with him! he will fill his house with souls!

  23. Vs. 17-20, ” For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified; therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the LORD. For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one. That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary. And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.”

I have 2 thoughts here. One, the part that says that a multitude of the people that were unclean ate of the passover otherwise than it was written. This made me think of Communion. 1 Cor. 11: 29-30 says, ” For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth an drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.” (SIN in both cases).

Secondly, this is why King Hezekiah had to pray and intercede for the people because they had sinned. God heard the prayer of King Hezekiah, and he pardon them and healed them.

I Thank God for our Pastor who intercedes for the people of God. How many times has God forgiven and pardoned us and healed us because of the prayers of our Pastor. Also, I am thankful for Saturday night Warfare Prayer. During this time, much Intercession is going on for the souls of our city and for the souls in our church. Thank You Jesus for Intercessory Prayer !!

  24. A Heart Prepared

God has great things in store for this city, we must be prepared to receive and follow whatever vision God speaks through Pastor.

Not all were prepared in their heart when the call came, but for those who responded and came, God was merciful and even helped where they were lacking in ceremonial preparation because their hearts were prepared to seek Him. There is a vision bigger than any of us and it calls for God’s people to unite in seeking Him, yet it must start with our heart.

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (Proverbs 29:18 KJV)

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23 KJV)

  25. 24 For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

Giving to the Kingdom should be an example for all leaders to live by.

Leaders don’t give to be seen but good leaders should be seen giving,

Thank God. He has blessed us to be able to give!

Hezekiah gave to the work of God.

  26. 17 For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the Lord.

God takes preparation to meet him very serious. This is why he is coming back for a bride without spot or blemish.

He said “Be holy, for I am holy”

  27. A Letter From the King

This is what I pray that the fliers from Church look ike to the people that recieve them. A letter from the king. If we got a letter from the Presedent of the United States we would run and tell all of our freinds that the President cared so much about us that he gave us an invatation to his house. These fliers that we hand out evry Saturday are much more valuable than a letter from the President. This invation is an invatation to the truth, the light, and the way. This invatation represents life or death. This invitation is truley worthy of a respose. It is truley worthy of a reaction. COME SEE THE KING!

20 And the Lord hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

Brent Standifer had surgury today at 10:00am. The doctors had told him that he had an infection in his leg that had reached thebone and started to hallow the bone out and decay it from the inside out. The doctors were going in to do exploritory surgury to find out how week the bone truley was. They told Brent that there was a high chance that the bone would be too weak that the would have to amputate the limb all together. I had went by to see Brent in the hospital earlier in the week and the doctor came in and explained all the possibliltiesright in front of me. When the doctor left, Brent and i prayed about the situation thatGod would intervien and work out a miracle for him. I walke out believing that a miracle was going to happen. Nevertheless I continued to pray for him the days to come. This morning he called me and asked if I would pray for him before he went into surgery. We prayed and it felt like heaven was called down over the phone. I asked for others at the church to pray as wel for him this morning. He called me tonight after he got out of surgery and informed me that the doctor had found nothing wrong with his bone, not a drop of infection in his bone, the bone is fine, although they found that it was so bad that it may have to be amputated at the begining of the week.

    PRAYER WORKS!

20 And the Lord hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

  28. 5 So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the Lord God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.

    OUTREACH!!!!!

  29. 7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the Lord God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

Once again, just as every week at church, we see the man of God calling his people from a life of sin to a life of exceeding and abundant blessing. Calling people from their life of enslavement to sin, to a life of being a child of the awesome and mighty God. The creator of heaven and earth.

  30. 8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from

    The Message (MSG)

6-9 The king gave the orders, and the couriers delivered the invitations from the king and his leaders throughout Israel and Judah. The invitation read: “O Israelites! Come back to God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that he can return to you who have survived the predations of the kings of Assyria. Don’t repeat the sins of your ancestors who turned their backs on God, the God of their ancestors who then brought them to ruin—you can see the ruins all around you. Don’t be pigheaded as your ancestors were. Clasp God’s outstretched hand. Come to his Temple of holy worship, consecrated for all time. Serve God, your God. You’ll no longer be in danger of his hot anger. If you come back to God, your captive relatives and children will be treated compassionately and allowed to come home. Your God is gracious and kind and won’t snub you—come back and he’ll welcome you with open arms.”

This reminds me of all the backsliders coming back home where they belong. Gotta keep praying and fasting and lifting the back slider up.

  31. vs 1-4 We should always keep ourselves “ready” so that when God needs us to serve we are sanctified. We should also come together whenever possible. “do not forsake the assembly of the saints”

  32. At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them all one heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the LORD. (2 Chronicles 30:12 NLT)

Lord my prayer is that your hand would be on your people at POFW and give us all one heart to obey the orders and the leading of our Pastor and leadership, as you order and lead them. Help us also to be a strength, supporter and an encouragement to our Pastor. Let us lift up his hands when they grow heavy.

As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. (Exodus 17:11, 12 NLT)

  33. Verses 19-20 shows us that God was even merciful and showed grace evenin the old testament. The people came to worship God though they be unclean and not washed and sanctified. They had only pepared their hearts towards God. Just like Jesus told the thief on the cross “today ye shall be with me in paradise”. May we be as merciful as God himself and pray for the salvation of those not washed or cleansed, not baptized or filled with the Holy Ghost But have only prepared their hearts before the Lord! God even did mighty healings in the people!!!
