Job 1

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lordgave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

  1. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away blessed be the name of the Lord.
Couldn’t say this better than that. I sometimes dont always understand the things that happen to us but I know that the Lord is good and greatly to be praised.
reading and studying His Word tells me everything I need to know.

  2. 5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

This reminds me of Pastors message regarding our minds and what we dwell upon. Job was continually before the Lord, worshipping through sacrifice, and when the trial of his faith came he was able to stand in his faith. He did not let his mind deceive him, instead he blessed the Lord.

21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lordgave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

  3. SOmetimes bad things happen to good people. God may be testing us to see what is really in our heart, or for us to see what is really in our heart. We need to have the right attitude through our trials and tribulations and remove from our lives anything that is not holy.

    The Desk of God

12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

The Devil had to come before the desk of God before he could touch Jobs stuff.

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. (Jude 1:9 KJV)

Job didn’t blame the Devil. Job didn’t blame God. He blessed God in the good time and also in the bad time.

  5. Job had nothing left but 4 messengers. I read this many times and failed to see that he still had 4 messengers. I think now of why God would have let the messengers live?

The messengers carry the word to and from. They are the vessels that God uses to send forth his news. If no one came and told Job what had happened he would have found out himself by happening upon all this at different times. But the Lords word came quickly and cut deep. The words are swift because God loves us. He has to correct us sometimes but when he does he makes it quick so that we get the point but we are not consumed by the punishment.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)

God also does not give us more than we can handle. He knew what Job would do. God was rubbing Jobs faithfulness in Satans face. These tests would prove how great of a man of God Job really was.

And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. (Exodus 20:20 KJV)

  6. A praying father/mamma

This chapter is very hard for me, the realization that God gives it and He taketh away is a hard lesson to learn. Our children are not ours but a loan from God and yes lots of people can say it but it is very hard to live it once you hold you child dead in your arms for no reason what so ever; then and only then reality hits. Possessions we had many & to see them go up in smoke, was hard but as long as the people you loved were out, Thank God!!!!! things were just that things. My husband dad, his mom, and my husband worked hard to just watch it go up in smoke. Dad had already gone to be with the Lord and in the moment I just wanted to find mom, once I did, we sat across the street together and watched. We salvage what we could and we moved on. Moving on was hard, leaving everything we knew behind, it has still been a struggle; but God has blessed us, God gave us a Great church with a Great Pastor and Wife, and Great church family. Not to mention a Sister in law that is like my blood, and a Brother in Law that have stood like our spiritual head and advises us every time we need it. After 20 years my husband got baptist in Jesus name, and soon will receive the Holy Ghost (speaking by faith). My daughter received the Holy Ghost soon after we got here. Tyra received the Holy Ghost before she left during Western day. If is one thing I have learned is Hope & Faith works together. To have Faith and lose Hope is nothing for Faith can not work without Hope and Hope can not work without Faith.

5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

No matter what our children do, we must never lose faith we must continue to pray and sanctify them. Pray for their salvation for their return to church. I claim all the children that at one time or another lived at my house for whatever reason. I claim them in Jesus Name.

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

One day as I prayed in tears for it was the anniversary of my son’s death, my sweet Sister came to me and prayed to me and all of the sudden she started speaking in tongues and she spoke Portuguese and for those that don’t know that is one of the languages I speak and if you know my sister you know that there is no way she speaks Portuguese for she can barely pronounce Spanish names (no pun intended). In the Spirit she told me that many children will find comfort and peace upon my chest. At that time I asked myself “How? Because I am no longer fostering children? Believe me when I tell you I lost a very sweet and loving child and it still hurts but God has blessed me with so many babies since I came to Texas that call me Titi (tee-tee) and love me and I love every single one of them like they were my own and lift them all in prayer by name every day and will continue to do so until the day that my Heavenly Father calls for me. YES HE DOES GIVE AND YES HE DOES TAKES AWAY, BUT ABOVE ALL HE CONTINUES TO GIVE EVERY DAY.

  7. 9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

Job had the best security detail ever known to man. The devil knew he could not lay a finger on Job as long as God was protecting him. The devil attempted to challenge God trying to get Job to turn away from him. Just as Job trusted God, God also trusted Job. When we put our trust in God, we place our confidence in him. Question is, Can God trust you?

  8. V.21 And said, Naked came out of my mothers womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave , and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly.
I truly respect a man with faith and trust like that! Possessions did not define who Job was, it was the beauty of a relationship between a man and his creator, his savior, the love of his life. That when all came against him,.Job knew that the Lord would take care of him. Sometimes “Lessons Learned” in an individual life challenges can make you or break you. But it all depends in how you react to them. Will your faith in God keep you, or will you throw in the towel? Today I choose to keep the faith and hold on to what is true, God’s word!!
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM and he shall direct thy paths.
Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; TRUST also in HIM; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psalms 37:37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
Thank You Jesus for there is life in your word!

  9. Blessed be the name of the lord one of the hardest lessons to lern is no matter what give thank in all things were most people say why me I say thank you JESUS

  10. Job would sacrific just to cover his children. Pastor sometimes talks about repentance and how it is important “just in case.” That is what Job was doing. He was repenting for his children. Even when we think, “I haven’t done anything wrong.” it is still important to repent, and mean it, just in case.

  11. This chapter illustrates full. Job was full of the Lord; “In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” This is why one must pray, study the Word and heed the teaching/preaching of the man of God. Trials and tribulations, pain and hurt will come too all in this life. As such one must be as full as Job and strong enough to fall too ones knees and worship the Lord for; “Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lordgave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord”. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  12. RESPONDING TO TROUBLING NEWS

22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

    “In ALL this”

Few times throughout the WORD of GOD do we witness such an onslaught of horrifying news. The confidence that GOD showed in Job:

8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

GOD hand picked Job for this test and trial.

    Why?

To inspire generations to come; including myself. When it seems that my life my be caving in around me and I have honestly searched my heart for sin and correct any sin found. I turn to this incredible testimony of integrity displayed by Job and the Faith that GOD displayed in Job.

The BLAME game is a deadly game with great risk. Troubling news reveals weaknesses. Most people that lose their Faith, do so in times of Supreme Blessing or times of Severe Testing. GOD desires our hearts to be consistently faithful, trusting GOD, and serving HIM completely. This is only accomplished by understanding the increasing, edifying Love of GOD.

    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  13. Protection
When we do what is right and pleasing in the sight of the Lord we receive favor from Him. Job was perfect, upright, eschewed evil and feared God. God bragged on Job to satan. He knew he could not touch Job as the protection of God was in place. Not only did satan know Job was protected by God but also his house, the work of his hands, and his substance.

God knows what he is doing. If we find ourselves in a trial, God has a plan. We likely will not know or understand His plan, but we are still covered by his grace as long as we continue to hold on to what we know to be true and remain upright in the sight of God.

  14. Set Apart

8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

There were others like Job that were unique in the earth. I think of those like Abraham (a man called out who was the beginning, as lone patriarch for a season, of God’s chosen people; Gen 12:1-3), Noah (a lone preacher of righteousness who found grace; Gen 6:8-9), Moses (a man who was meek above all others on the earth; Num 12:8), John the baptist (greatest of all the prophets; Luke 7:28), and Ruth (the only woman specifically called a “virtuous woman” in the Bible; Ruth 3:11.) Being unique can mean feeling isolated at times. Job went through times when it seemed nobody was on his side; Abraham followed God away from all he knew and walked by faith, seeking something of God and not of this world; Noah surely felt isolated as he built the ark for all those years and labored for the future God promised while the rest of the world continued on in unrighteousness; Moses was set alone from his people so he could not be killed as a baby, set alone from Egypt as royalty, set alone from all he knew so he would not be killed for his crime, set alone from his new life so he could be used to save his people, set alone from his family for his life’s purpose, set alone from others he led to hear and follow God, set alone even from brother and sister, etc; John the baptist was the lone “crazy man” in the wilderness who was crying a radical message to a world that seemed hungry for something radical but not for Christ; Ruth was a widow who had only a mother in law for a season, who went to a land not her own, a people not her own, and a God not her own but had faith to abandon her previous life and claim them as hers.

Sometimes when we feel isolated, it is not a problem needing fixing but is the byproduct of the blessing of greatest being worked in our lives. Being set apart means being isolated from something for a purpose. What if Job had followed the crowd and listened to his wife and friends and cursed God and give up on life and died in despair? What if Abraham had refused to leave the comfort and inheritance of his family? What if Noah had refused to be different and build that ark faithfully all those years? What if Moses refuses to receive separation unto God and remained in separation unto the pleasures of sin for a season? What if John the baptist had wanted to fit in with the crowds like everyone else instead of being different and being used in a way that drew crowds? What if Ruth had desired her own life instead of what she found of Jesus even in the life of her backslidden mother in law?

The world would have kept turning, the plan of God would have kept going, but it would have passed by those lives and we would not know them as we do now (if at all):

For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14 KJV)

Esther (another example) was set apart for a purpose, yet if she had refused, another would have been raised up. But she did step up to plate, she did keep going and pursued God’s will and saw Him do amazing things.

When we find ourselves set apart, it’s important to not focus on what we’re set apart from but look at what we’re set apart to. Job saw the loss of many things but God was still there; we may feel we are losing everything but if God is still right there and we are not sliding away from Him, what have we really lost?

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. (Hebrews 11:13-16 KJV)

We must keep our focus on God and be willing to be called a stranger and pilgrim with regards to all we know of this world. Our identity should lie solely in Jesus as all else not of Him will pass away.

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. (Philippians 3:7-11 KJV)

What is Paul saying here? I’m a stranger and pilgrim in this world! I don’t seek this world, I seek Jesus! I am apart from this world that I might win God!

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Hebrews 13:5 KJV)

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:11-13 KJV)

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:6-10 KJV)

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Matthew 6:24 KJV)

There is a song by Building429 with a chorus that captures it pretty well:

“All I know is I’m not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong”

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:28 KJV)

The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. (Psalm 24 KJV)

  15. c1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Job was a Godly man, that feared God,so when the devil brought trouble in his life ,he knew he could trust God to bring him thru it.Not only did Job trust God,but God trusted Job to be standing faithful to Him when the troubling times had passed.
The question for us is,when our trial is over, will we still be found standing faithful to God and our church?God is our ROCK and our SHIELD from the storms of life!!He will be there for us if we are there for Him!!!

  16. And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

When it rains it pours. It seems like every time bad news comes it doesn’t come alone, we seem to get bombarded with the onslaught of negativity. The bible says that it rains on the just and the unjust alike, and we see how true that is in jobs life. Job gives us all an example to live by, he was human just as the rest of us. I’ve heard several times that people excuse themselves and sin because Jesus could do it but he is God manifested in flesh, he wasn’t just human. But job was human and the Lord called him perfect and upright, he had the correct response. Job can be looked to as an inspiration, reading this chapter this morning has definitely helped me. My life hasn’t been falling apart but it has seemed to be raining bad news and hurts recently. God takes us through the fire to refine us, im thankful for the story of Job to look to and see that the storm won’t last forever. If nothing else Lord teach me to dance in the rain.

  17. 21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lordgave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishl

As I read this chapter it brought back memories of when I was younger and my dad was a preacher and in the church and my brothers in the church. Where ar e they now? You know when you are raised in the church and then all of a sudden you see family/friends selling out their souls for the devil and the world makes you wonder why? But as the verse said the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. I’m thankful for my christian background and the beliefs that were installed into me. I pray that I can leave a strong background of strong beliefs to my children. When trails come our way we need to just hit our knees and let God show us what he wants us to do. You never know who is watching you and listening to you. As I was out of town last week I was talking to my aunt (she knows the truth) and she was telling me that she has seen and heard people judge people and talk about people and she was distrubed that so much of that was going on in the churches today. We have to be careful how we talk and act.

  18. As the soory unfolds we are told of a scene in heaven when the son of God (angel) appeared before the Lord.Satan (the word is hedrew for ” accuser”) aslo was present. When God spoke to satan concerning the uprightness of His servant Jod, satan implied that the only reason Job feared God was that He had been so good to him. According to satan, if
the Load had not put a protective hedge around Job, then he would have cursed his Creator to His face. God knows our good and bad our high and lows he knows he simply knows.

  19. Even though Job was going through tough situations, he never stopped worshipping The Lord! When we have situations thrown at us we have a choice to turn away from God or to stay in the Will of God and let God guide you and strengthen you through your troubles… I choose whatever life throws at me, I’m going to worship God and let God strengthen and guide me. I will NOT turn away!!

  20. This chapter spoke to me about daily repentance and faithfullness. Living for God is a daily process. We need to repent daily as Job did in verse 5 CEV “After each feast, Job would send for his children and perform a ceremony, as a way of asking God to forgive them of any wrongs they may have done. He would get up early the next morning and offer a sacrifice for each of them, just in case they had sinned or silently cursed God.” Unfortunately, sometimes we too may have had a thought, spoke a word or did something that was not pleasing to the Lord. God is in control and all things are in his hands. Thank you Jesus.

  21. 21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lordgave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Even when we go through trial and tribulation we should still give God thanks for everything! “Faith it til you make it!”

  22. In God’s Holy Council

The “angels” reffered to are spiritual beings, literally “sons of God” in Hebrew translation, created by God to function as royal officials in His Kingdom and to do his bidding. Strange then that Satan, an adversary of God, is allowed to enter this holy council. But some scholars suggest that Satan, “the accuser” appears here in his role of celestial spy (vs6) duty bound, to report to God and accuse humans on the basis of their behavior. Ultimately, however, all the officials in the King of King’s court, including God’s “fallen angel” are subject to His Will and direction.
    Check Psa 89:
5The heavens praise your wonders, O Lord,
your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
6For who in the skies above can compare with the Lord?
Who is like the Lord among the heavenly beings?
    7In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared;
he is more awesome than all who surround him.
😯 Lord God Almighty, who is like you?
You are mighty, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

The confirmation is undeniable that the Lord is “more awesome than all who surround Him.” Satan may have access to God and God’s servants, like Job, but the King of the ages will reign supreme (Rev 11:15-17; 12:10). God allows certain things to happen, which are unexplainable with human wisdom why He allows things to happen, show to be to His glory later. God has a purpose, Let God be God.

  23. I have always liked the story of Job, because I find it as an inspiration when i feel as though I cannot go on. Many times we think that the tests that we go though are attacks from the enemy, and sometimes they are tests from God to see how far will we go. Its like an evaluation from your job. They will send people to make the day hard on you to see how will you respond to them. After that they will make their final remarks and maybe , if you did well, will get a raise. God will test us to see if we are ready for the responsiblities of the next level, and not always are we ready. God will only put on us what we can handle. As it is in strength training, the trainee will put on just a little more on every week to make the load heavier. This is what God does, He will put on us just a little more on to make us stronger in Him. The tests will get tougher and the load a little heavier, but God is always in control. No Matter What!

  24. In this scripture, it is apparent that God’s blessings were upon Job with a hedge of protection. But, Satan had persuaded God to remove that protection. Satan, was trying to use his same old tactics in even tempting God. Even though it might seem God submitted to the temptation to remove his hedge of protection. God didn’t, I believe, God knew his vessel well enough to know how Job was going to react and conduct himself, for he forsees everything and he knows his plan before hand. He also, knew what Satan was trying to do, and Job gets to be tested & tried. In the very long run, builds an even stronger relationship between God & Job. Also, in the end God restores Job with extras, double to what he lost.

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

In the following verse, It’s my prayer; “That God would not allow Satan to come before his Holy presence to request anything on my behalf, for what is Light to do with darkness and it is also my request for God to silence the enemy & the avenger, and the accuser of the brotheren, in Jesus Christ name.” “I also pray a hedge of protection around our home, family, and self, every day I plead the blood of Jesus, and would like for God to keep his hedge of protection around me, my family, and my home. “Never to remove, especially in these days.”

12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

In the following verse, is an example of God’s power, and the only example of fire that I want to see is of the Holy Spirit or Revival with restoration. “Not the Destruction Part”…………

16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

In the following verse, is where I hope all of us respond when destruction and trials come. Responding back with worship, and with no accusations toward God. “I hope, I can really learn this one”. Without wining & crying, and blaming. O.K. I’m being open about myself but I need healing/help in this area too.” It’s human nature to say WHY? Besides I already have the shaved head, and the worship, just got to adjust my timing.

20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

The ultimate goal, is to Sin NOT……..Nor charged God…”foolishly”.

22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

    “Be Church”…..iwork…igive…ipray…ireap…ipraise…ilove…ishare……

  25. Sing with me: Blessed be your name in the land that is plentiful where streams of abundance flow blessed be your name blessed be your name when I’m found in the desert place through I walk thru the wilderness blessed be your name every blessing you pour out I’l turn back to praise when the darkness closes in Lord still i will say blessed be the name of the Lord blessed be the name blessed be the name of the Lord blessed be his glorious name blessed be your name when the sun is shining down on me when the world’s all it should be blessed be the name blessed be your name when the road is marked with suffering through there’s pain in the offering blessed be the name every blessing you pour out I’ll turn back to praise when the darkness closes in Lord still i will say blessed be the name of the Lord………

I think you get the drift God has never failed me. We (I) have failed God but he keep right on loving me. If God brings us to it he will bring us thru it.

  26. 3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

Job had much. His land spread for miles, and miles. I remember as one man preached about the one whom made it back, he focused one how one excaped. The part I noticed, was how they had to travel to get back to the place where the man of God was. Many times storms come at us, and we do all we can just to narrowly excape.

The thing that God showed me, was that the one who made it back to the house to report back to Job, must have been well beaten. You don’t make it out of a fight, or a house that is destroyed without getting beaten, or recieving broken bones, or bad gouges. When one thinks about being cut, beaten, and having a broken leg, or arm, or even 2… They had a rough walk back to Job’s house. They had miles they traveled because Job had so much, and they were bringing news that Job didn’t know of. Though they traveled miles, wounded and broken, and beaten, they went. They trudged, unwilling to give up. They knew that their only hope for surviving, was to get back to the man of God. They had a LONG trip from the point at which they were attacked, to the point at which they got the help they needed.

We too have the option of giving up and dying, or fighting to get back to the man of God and getting the help we need. When we hide or run, we only prolong the help we need from getting to us as we so desperately need. We must come to the house of God and seek His face, continually, that we might get the healing that we need….

  27. Job lived a life of worship to God. when he was in his darkest hour he just did what he knew to do “worship God.” he lived a like so in tune with god that he understood everything was made by Him and God lent them to Job.

  28. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, 21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

This man of God is so inspiring.  Sometimes the Lord Himself will allow certain things to happen just to test our reaction.  Just to see the extent of our love for him.  If we really love him like we claim or it’s just from our lips out without the heart in it.  The devil came rushing like a flood attacking Job..literally wiped out everything except his life, and his wife.  However we learn so much from his attitude.  He always kept and attitude of worship.  Even when he offered sacrifice for his sons.  It amazes that in the mist of his worst trials, he humbled himself. It says he rent his clothes and shaved his head, Signs of humbling then he worshiped.
Sometimes our prayer and our communication with the Lord is hindered by our own actions and attitudes.  Remember who is three times HOLY…the LORD MIGHTY IN BATTLE

May I learn from great men like this and always have an attitude of worship

  29. With a smile on his face, and knowledge of Job’s future, God challenged the enemy to come after Job.

Gleefully the devil snickered as he thought “now I have him!” With evil intent he set off on his quest to push the man of God to the brink.

Yet within the portals of glory the Lord looked past the pain, testing, trials, and trouble to what Job would become.

Little did satan know, but his action would produce something in job that the devil would tremble at seeing.

God chose to test Job, not to destroy, but to promote him.

So what does it take for God to elect you for this position of honor?

    1. Job was perfect. The word perfect here means “integrity”

    2. upright. Just, straight, consistently good.

    3. feared God. reverent, respectful, and upheld the holy things of God

    4. eschew evil. hate the appearance of evil, push it away

Promotion for greatness in the kingdom happens simply by loving God, hating evil, being faithful, and living righteous.

  30. 6. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

    Romans 7:21
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

When we try to do good, Satan will always show up, trying to stop us; but like Job, we can’t let him “win” by getting the best of us.

    10. Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

We don’t just love God because He puts a hedge around us; sometimes the hedge comes down for a season, but it doesn’t change our love for God because our love wasn’t built on that – we love Him because of who He is, and that never changes!

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
    No matter where I am
    -Casting Crowns

  31. Lord help us in everything to sin not and not charge God foolishly. Amazingly enough that there was always someone there to deliver the bad news, possibly in hopes that they would hear something negative come out of Jobs’ mouth. The devil always has someone around to deliver the bad news. However, it’s up to us what attitude we will have. Come what may I always want to be positive and have a right spirit because we find that God will honor and bless such an attitude.

  32. 1:21 The Lord gave , and the Lord hath taken away . Job’s faith leads him to see the sovereign God’s hand at work, and that gives him repose even in the face of calamity.

  33. Seems like Satan uses people(vs 15 Sabeans) to cause the fire (vs16) to be turned up on our life’s. And uses the world (vs 17 Chaldeans were from Babylon) to cause things in our lives to blown (vs 18) around.

    Romans 8:35-39 NLT

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  34. What a faithful man! He trusted the Lord during the greatest tragedy of his life and he worshipped.

Job is a great example to me. This will be a great book of study.

  35. The devil doesn’t have your heart, from reading the chapter I’ve noticed the devil is trying to destroy Job like this he can say he won and was able to get him to curse God.

  36. 9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

Wife watch the words that come out of your mouth towards your husband. We are to build him up, not tare him down.

Today’s chapter goes hand in hand with our Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

James 4:7 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Prov 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me Bless His Holy Name!!!

I will continue to lay EVERYTHING at your feet for GOD is GOOD all the time and ALL the time GOD is GOOD.

  37. This is in response to Job 2

Just when you think it couldnt get any worse.

So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. (Job 2:7 KJV)

This is how depression works. Satan jumps in when you are already wounded and down. He comes in to destroy us because we are weak. He is a coward that kicks when your down. He makes his move at the worst times for you. If you are going through hell just remember that it is only a test and if you pass the test then it won’t return to you. Fail the test and you have to make it up till you pass it.

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. (Psalm 142:3 KJV)

Keep strong in your trials and remember that it can always get worse. Thank God that he has put restrictions on Satan that Satan is still subject to the voice of God. Build yourselves up daily to prevent the cares of this life from dragging you down. If we will stay strong and pass the test then it will pass quickly.

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, (Jude 1:20 KJV)

  38. 11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

I like this scripture because it lets me know that God is in control. God also is not the one who causes us grief. He allows it, but he doesn’t inflict it.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

  39. GOD will remove whatever can be shaken.
    GOD IS IN CONTROL!
So that what ever remains cannot be shaken.

Hebrews 12:27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things may remain.

GOD IS OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH
