Psalm 14

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.

There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

  1. Without God we filthy and ignorant. Jesus cleanses us of unrighteousness and can open unto us understanding and wisdom no sinner can have.

  2. in the days that we live in today it makes me sad to know that so many of our youths today do not know who Jesus is and are being taught that the Bible is just a book. its our job as the men and women of God to teach them and show them the truth that the world is trying to keep from them

  3. Psalm 14:1-3 KJV

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
O LORD HAVE MERCY!! Our Nation has seemed to close they eyes, ears, mind and heart unto the God of our salvation! Oh Saints of God, it is today that we need to continue to stand in the gap for our Nation, our city, our families! We are responsible for their lives, their blood is on our hands, we may feel a little tired, but there is work to be done. Reach into the homes and snatch their souls out of the hands of satan. In Jesus name!!! We are the watchmen over our city, speak what the Lord puts in your mouth!

  4. v2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek GOD.
v3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no,not one.

These verses let’s me ( us ) know that Now it’s time to seek the LORD. HE looks for and takes delight in a faithful follower.
As we go not in our own righteousness
that is but filthy rags but in the righteousness of GOD, whose HOLY SPIRIT we have. HE has clothed us in HIS own righteousness by HIS SPIRIT.
GO IN JESUS NAME ! We have not been left powerless. The LORD IS counting on us.
It’s TIME TO SEEK THE LORD.. which involves the gospel and salvation for the lost.
We CAN DO IT THROUGH THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD.

  5. DON’T BE FOOLISH

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

This scripture is much deeper than it seems. In my life of serving GOD there are very few occurrences where I have heard a person say “there is no God”. I have heard many times “where is God”. The deceived individual is the one that would say there is no God. We do not hear this statement very often.

However, the text says “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”

Fool – 5036. nabal, naw-bawl´; from 5034; stupid; wicked (especially impious):—fool(-ish, -ish man, -ish woman), vile person.

5034. nabel, naw-bale´; a primitive root; to wilt; generally, to fall away, fail, faint; figuratively, to be foolish or (morally) wicked; causatively, to despise, disgrace:—disgrace, dishounour, lightly esteem, fade (away, -ing), fall (down, -ling, off), do foolishly, come to nought, x surely, make vile, wither.

A fool is described as a person with no respect, wicked, falling away, etc. In other words it is not a complement to be called a fool.

Notice the place where he says “there is no God”, “in his heart”.

Considering the text, we witness this act on a weekly basis at church and on a daily basis in some lives.

Heart -3820. , labe; a form of 3824; the heart; also used (figuratively) very widely for the feelings, the will and even the intellect; likewise for the centre of anything:—+ care for, comfortably, consent, x considered, courage

The heart is represented by our decisions and actions along with what we say.

I have heard all of my life that actions speak louder than words.

Consider this passage from GOD’s perspective:

When we fail to praise his HOLY name in an atmosphere of corporate praise, is it to GOD our heart saying “there is no GOD”

When we refuse to obey his commands in our daily living are we saying in our heart “there is no God”.

When we refuse to respond to Spiritual Leadership (Pastor, Worship Leader, Evangelist, or Local Minister/Teacher) are we saying in our heart “there is no God”.

    GOD knows!

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

We are admonished to protect our heart:

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Let’s search our heart today and consider of some of our personal responses or lack of participation could be making fools of us in the eyes of HIM with whom we have to do.

1Samuel 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

GOD knows, sees and hears all we say whether we say with our mouth or our heart.

Purpose in your heart today to respond to the Word of GOD, the presence of GOD and the people of GOD. Then when the opportunity to perform the response arises, here is what we do.

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

    Have a GOoD day!

    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

    NOW

  6. 2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

We are in a time that people think that they are seeking God but they don’t understand what that means. We have visited many churches before we came home to the POFW. What we found out is that people have blinders on and don’t really know where that are going or doing. We found a lot of good people but no one that really understood and was serious about seeking God. We found refreshing in the POFW. We understand the fullness of God in Jesus and live our lives seeking him. His is the reason for the season.

  7. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

I want to found seeking the will of God always and not as the fool who saith eat, drink and be merry. We learn, know and understand the ways of God by our daily relationship we build with him. NOW is the time to grow our relationship with and go to a new level and dimension in Him.

  8. ILove to eat lunch with Jesus

    GOD IS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE…

    ANYONE

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

GOD IS LOOKING..,what is he looking for?

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (John 4:23 KJV)

  9. ILove to eat lunch with Jesus

God is Looking for a Few Good Men

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

The majority of the world think that they are “Good Enough” to make it to heaven. Chances are, if you were to interview your Coworkers, you would soon see that in their eyes they are “good” enough to make it to heaven.

    No one is good enough.

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

  10. ILove to eat lunch with Jesus

GOD IS LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD MEN

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

    THERE ARE NO GOOD MEN

Odds are if you take a survey at work, you will soon find out that most people “think” they are good people and that they are not too bad.

No one is worthy, no one is good enough… But Jesus paid the price.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (John 4:23 KJV)

  11. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

  12. 7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

The church is Zion. Salvation is found here! The captives are set free, so the Church can rejoice!

What better reason than to celebrate Jesus now!

  13. 7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. -Ephesians 4:8

Thank God for salvation. No longer am I held captive to sin and its desire. I am free through the power of God and his word. Tha God for ministry that preaches the truth.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; -Ephesians 4:11

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: -Ephesians 4:12

  14. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

No matter what you do, if you do it with out Gid it is trash. Atheists must have missed this scripture in their readings, ha ha. Some of them seem to “know” part of the Bible. Even though they read only God can open their eyes to what it really means. It has layers!

  15. This chapter illustrates sadness. The creation (mankind) had forgotten the Creator (Jesus). When one forgets the Creator one will surely fall, (it’s not about the Holidays; it’s about the birth of Jesus (God in the flesh)). May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  16. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
God have mercy on their soul. I don’t know what I would do without God. He is my help in the time of need.

  17. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Ecc 10:3 “Even as he walks along the road, the fool lacks sense and shows everyone how stupid he is.”

  18. Do You Know Him: The Name

    Luke 1:31
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

    Luke 2:21
And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

To call on the name of God is more than calling on a title, it is literally calling on the identity of God. The name Jesus means “Jehovah is salvation.” Of all the ways He has revealed Himself to humanity, there is no other name that more fully describes Him than Jesus, or the I AM who is salvation. Luke 2:21 describes an important detail: Jewish tradition says Christ didn’t fully receive His name via Joseph and Mary until after His circumcision on the eighth day. It is highly symbolic that though He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, He doesn’t fully come into the identity of Savior for us until the flesh was cut away on the cross. So does the name become fully applied *after* circumcision.

I said all that to say this: the identity of Jesus is our salvation, whether most fundamentally from sin through new birth or in any other measure of redemptive work by grace, such as deliverance from old mindsets, healing from wounds of the spirit, etc. is who He is, that is His name. It seems to me that if we (church-folk included) ever come to a place of saying “God can’t save me from…” or some such, then we are in essence denying the identity or person of Christ and saying “there is no God.”

I believe this beginning verse of Psalm 14 goes deeper than just speaking of believing in Jesus in terms of His deity.

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

The inverse of denying God is described as understanding and seeking God. The flesh does not by default understand God and His identity, it does not by default seek Him.

    John 1:41
41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

    Matthew 16:15-19
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Peter was told about Christ and taken to Him, was chosen and walked with Him for several years, yet in all this there had to be revelation beyond what flesh and blood revealed. Peter found understanding and sought God through Him. We all must have our lightbulb moment when we get made up in our minds that God is exactly who He said He is and we have faith and believe if He said He Savior, He will save to the uttermost. Too often we get tangled up in the process of understanding and seeking and we learn He is salvation and then just seek salvation. We in essence stop seeking *Him* and instead seek what He does because of who He is, seeking His hand and not His face.

We must ask, do I know Him? Am I seeking *Him*?

  19. Prov. 18:20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

As soon as you hear foolish words like “I don’t believe in God” stop listening… they have nothing of value to say. They speak out of bitterness that fill their bellies with hate.

  20. Psalm 14

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion!
when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people,
Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

God is a good God. That is what this chapter speaks to me.  God is not bad like some may say because of the hardships they go through but rather is looking for some one to bless.  He loves his people.  When you love some one you wanna shower them with gifts and make them smile do something for them to show your love.  But God is looking…looking for a heart that will love  him back.  His words were; if you love me, keep my commandments.  The whole gospel can be summarized in these two; love the Lord you God with all your mind heart and soul, and your neighbor as yourself.

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men,
to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

The only thing He wants is for us to seek Him. To seek his face and spend some time with Him to Love Him

  21. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Don’t be a fool, believe in God.

  22. This chapter ends with verse 7 MSG “Is there anyone around to save Israel? Yes. God is around; God turns life around. Turned-around Jacob skips rope, turned-around Israel sings laughter.” God can change the route of your life.

  23. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God….

Many times as we go through our lives we will go through peroids where we find it difficult to “feel” God, or to “see” Him moving in our lives, all because He doesnt fit our mold, or because we need to repent because we have backslidden. We must be cautious and fight to keep from allowing ourselves from getting caught up in one of these 2 traps, because they open the door for the enemy to come in and tempt us and lure us even further from God.

If we fail to take notice of our God, and His mighty deeds, we might begin to allow ourselves to have a thought process that leads us to a place of becomming agnostic, or even worse, making us fools…
