Psalm 15

1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

  1. v LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
v2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness , and speaketh the truth in his heart.

In this chapter we see that GOD will not tolerate sin.
” Because the carnal mind is enmity against GOD. ” Rom.8:7
The Psalmist teaches us that if we live in an attitude of praise and worship it will help us be kingdom minded . We become more aware of GOD’S presence which helps us control unruly desires of the flesh .
Today let us come before HIM in a spirit of humility and reverence for Who HE IS!
In doing so we fulfill our purpose both NOW
    and in heaven.
Worship HIM in Spirit and in Truth!

    iPray

  3. NEVER EVICTED

5 … He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

The psalmist is establishing here the keys to never backslide or be evicted from the house of the LORD.

The question is posed in verse 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

I am thankful today that by the grace of GOD I have never been evicted from a residence in my adult life. However when I was a teenager and y precious mother had established “house rules” to abide in her tabernacle, I was a rebellious young man and repeatedly disrespected her expectations and eventually found myself EVICTED from my mothers house. All that was required was for me to follow a few rules. Now I realize how immature and ignorant I was. Also I learned a very valualble life lesson that helps me today.

This chapter teaches some of the LORD’s “house rules”, we must examine ourselves to ensure that we respect HIS “house rules” and that we may “ABIDE” in “HIS” tabernacle.

  4. This chapter illustrates seeking. David sought God on salvation. One would also be wise to seek out one’s own salvation. One must study the Word of God, pray, and heed the man of God; “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  5. vs4 “who keeps His oath EVEN WHEN IT HURTS”

Love it, He is going to stand His ground, wouldn’t it make sense that we live according to His example. If we follow the steps God paved for salvation, then we must live for Him upon that foundation. Get up, Stand, Hold your ground, He does, and those who walk life in holiness “whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from the heart and has no slander in his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man.” It is correct to hate evil and love good, hence “To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech” (Pro 8:13). Again in Amos 5:15 “Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice. Perhaps even yet the LORD God of Heaven’s Armies will have mercy on the remnant of his people.” Confirmed by the psalmist himself in Ps 97:10 “Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” and P 45:7 ” You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” Paul echoed it in Romans 12:9 “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.”

So obey God’s Word and keep walking EVEN WHEN IT HURTS!

  6. Instructions for life. There are many commands we are discovering as we read each day that when followed will cause us to become a better individual and most importantly more Christlike!

  7. Psa 15 in the Message version says it like this,

1 GOD, who gets invited to dinner at your place?
How do we get on your guest list?
    2 “Walk straight,
    act right,
    tell the truth.
    3” Don’t hurt your friend,
    don’t blame your neighbor;
    4 despise the despicable.
“Keep your word even when it costs you,
    5 make an honest living,
    never take a bribe.
    ” You’ll never get
    blacklisted
if you live like this. ”

The key is integrity. My friend said “integrity is like tucking yourself in at night, you sleep better, and you know you are covered!”

Without integrity the “walk” becomes just “talk”.

  8. Great reward comes through living righteous for his glory. !
Heaven has no one knocking at the door to serve you papers. If we live right he will keep us. Merry Christmas POFW

  9. 3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

Love you neighbor as yourself. If more of us would live by this the better this world would be.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. -Galatians 5:14

  10. ILove to eat a midnight snack with Jesus

1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

Who will God find faithful when He returns? Will He find faith? Will He find a pure sanctified soul? How many of us measure up to these scriptures… God, lead us into the truth and reveal your Word to us that we might be saved.

  11. ILove to eat a midnight snack with Jesus

  12. Psalm 15:1-5 KJV

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Lord it is my prayer to live in obedience to your word everyday of my life, that my life will.honor you!

  13. Courage

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

Integrity takes courage. It takes courage to commit to something and stick with it even when it hurts, knowing you have the opportunity to get out (at the expense of your integrity, that is.) It highlights the importance of being very careful about commitments. We should live in such a way that we do not consider life to have just a big “undo” button the second things don’t go the way we hoped. Our “buffer” is the Lord, living in pursuit of Him so we can be obedient to His direction and trusting in His mercy if we get off course. A life of faith requires the boldness of meekness, the quality that can stand in the face of unwanted consequences and calmly “walk it out” instead of just walking out. Sometimes courage roars, other times it is silent, but either way it is the defining quality of genuine integrity that breathes life into it.

  14. The key to dwell with God is live a righteous life. God has given plenty of instructions to follow and dwell with HIM. All of them are simple and plainly spoken, from the 10 commandments to Psalm 15 follow the instructions and live in eternal JOY with HIM.

  15. Psalm 15

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?
who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

    Can you imagine…being before the presence of the Lord, beholding the beauty of His Holiness?  Nothing that the human eye has ever seen can compare to it.  Glorious, majestic, full of splendor..an awesome wonder! Reminds me of the verse;
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.
I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.   Psalm 84:10

But who shall abide in the tabernacle of the Lord and in His holly hill?
The one who walks uprightly, works righteousness, speaks truth with his heart, backbiteth not with his tongue, does no evil to his neighbor nor reproaches against him, does not waste money in usury, not takes reward against the innocent. This are characteristics of Christ. Whim who has been changed to His likeness.  Him who has been born again of the water and of the Spirit, him who walks in God’s ways

  16. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

Who will live in those high places in your life? Will it be the almighty God or will it be some other thing that you have erected in his place?–nicole

  17. Verse 1 NKJV reads “Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?” Those who are obedient unto his teachings as verses 2-5 state and follow after God, the end of verse 5 says “……….He who does these things shall never be moved”.

  18. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Many people ask me why do I follow a faith that is so strick, and I don’t believe the same way as I was raised? The answer is simple, I want to dwell in the tabernacle with the Lord for all of eternity, and not be left from His prescence…
