Psalm 36

1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

    Fountain of Life

    Everlasting to everlasting, the Lord gives life and life more abundantly!

  2. Victory is the Lord’s ALWAYS!!!

    Sometimes I look around and it seems like the liars and cheaters are always winning… but I know that although it may seem that way in this world at the end VICTORY belongs to God.

    12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

  3. Sin with no immediate judgement, makes us think that that God doesn’t care. He has siad that He will not be mocked. We mearly need to repent and turn to him beefore his judgement on us does come and it will, if not “now” at the least in the end.

  4. ILove to eat the word for breakfast.

    8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of pleasures.

    We are children if the king, it is the will of God for us to be satisfied. What parent in their right mind would enjoy seeing their children look like beggars. Begging for food and clothes.

    Seek Ye FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

    Be blessed, abundantly blessed.

  5. Psalm 36:5-10 AMP

    Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord,
    extend to the skies, and Your faithfulness to the
    clouds. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, Your judgments
    are like the great deep. O Lord, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men
    take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your
    wings. They relish and feast on the abundance
    of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see
    light. O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, Your
    righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart.

  6. Where do you drink?
    8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. 9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

    Jesus gives those that serve him waters that don’t come from anywhere else. We who drink shall never thirst again. We must needs drink from The Lord!

    I never want to come to prideful to be unable to recognize my sins. I pray The Lord continues to prick my heart of conviction on any matter.

  8. A parallel of unrighteous men and God’s love is revealed in this chapter.

    Men devise evil and walk in ways that are pleasing in their own sight, with no fear of God. But God in all His love and compassion still reache for them and draws them to His side for restoration.

    2013 – a year of restoration to backsliders. Praise the Lord. Thank you in advance for harvest of God’s grace and mercy evident in lives @ POFW!

  9. I ( myself) am around people who’s living, talking, thinking like that…..
    But the word says that we walk by faith and not by sights ….I am thankful for Gods mecy is new everyday,I am THANGUL that God hasn’t let me down, for I want to be there at the great wedding not just me but those who now are acting this ( wicked way)but by faith those will be rejoicing in The Lord ( one day)

  10. SATISFIED

    8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
    9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

    Life is a continual quest for the spirit of man to return to GOD. In that quest we often find ourselves seeking for the 4 things identified in these 2 verses.

    1. Fatness – Blessing or abundance
    2. Pleasures – Delight or enjoyment
    3. Life – Refreshed or revived and renewed
    4. Light – Illumination or morning (the end of darkness)

    Those who qualify to be satisfied are found in verse 7: … therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

    TRUST GOD for the place he has placed you under HIS wings, HIS authority, HIS covering.

    Wherever GOD has you right NOW, Whatever GOD has you doing right NOW, be SATISFIED in HIM.

    Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

    FOLLOW JESUS and BE SATISFIED

  11. 36 1-4 The God-rebel tunes in to sedition—
    all ears, eager to sin.
    He has no regard for God,
    he stands insolent before him.
    He has smooth-talked himself
    into believing
    That his evil
    will never be noticed.
    Words gutter from his mouth,
    dishwater dirty.
    Can’t remember when he
    did anything decent.
    Every time he goes to bed,
    he fathers another evil plot.
    When he’s loose on the streets,
    nobody’s safe.
    He plays with fire
    and doesn’t care who gets burned.

  12. Verses 5-6 MSG read:

    “God’s love is meteoric,
    his loyalty astronomic,
    His purpose titanic,
    his verdicts oceanic.
    Yet in his largeness
    nothing gets lost;
    Not a man, not a mouse,
    slips through the cracks.”

    Just reading these verses this morning makes me want to a have a giganTIC praise on my lips! God loves ME, he loves YOU and he knows exactly where you are right NOW and what you need.

    What Are You Scared of?

    Many people profess to “believe in Jesus”, or to have “asked Jesus” into their heart, but they run around like tyrants doing any and every thing that they want. Unfortunately there are some oneness professing people that behave the same way too. They act fearless thinking that they have time to repent, “once saved always saved”.?.?. I don’t know what they are thinking.

    The word says that the fear of God is the begining of wisdom, and another verse says the begining of undrestanding. So according to the word, someone without fear of the Lord, someone is lacking wisdom and understanding. Without a reverance for the Lord and His holy articles, people make bad choices, choose wrong churches to attend, act rebellous, watch bad videos, have ungodly conversations… Might be “good” people, that make bad decisions from time to time, not just the thieves and killers that we always think of.

    When we loose the fear of the Lord we wax bold in our own judgements, andrun far from righteousness. Many times it is as simple as growing complacent in seeing the hand of God move through service and not getting excited, not having butterflies in our stomachs, as we see souls come in and repent, souls being filled with the Holy Ghost, souls being baptized in Jesus name for the remission of their sins. When that becomes something that doesn’e move us, it is because we have lost the fear of God in ourselves… Someone might even be bold enough to ask, if a pesorn ever did have fear of God, if they were found to be lacking enthusiam about another soul getting to have a chance to spend eternity with Jesus…

    You can’t be stuck on yourself and call yourself holy (christian).
    Pride will get you nowhere. Proverbs 16:18-19
    18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
    19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. (KJV)
    Proverbs 29:23 says: A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
    want to make it a goal in my life to treat all people as people not because of what they have or don’t have.
    want to have a humble spirit and for everyone that I am around to feel that we are on the same level

  15. Abundantly satisfied…
    Richly fulfilled
    Lavishly happy
    Luxuriously rewarded
    Magnificently compensated

  16. This chapter illustrates notice. David describes the foolish thoughts of those that do not fear God. One is wise to notice that one must search the Word (all) of God as a gauge to where one is; “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  17. Who have you granted access to your heart?

    TRANSGRESSION [like an oracle] speaks to the wicked deep in his heart. There is no fear or dread of God before his eyes. For he flatters and deceives himself in his own eyes that his iniquity will not be found out and be hated. (Psalm 36:1, 2 AMP)

    These verses speak of sin speaking to an individual and deceiving him and leading himself astray. I am so thankful for the leadership of POFW that gives wise counsel. Lord, give me wisdom AND understanding to listen AND obey.

    If you listen to constructive criticism, you will be at home among the wise. If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding. (Proverbs 15:31, 32 NLT)

  18. 3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

    Some people have been Living in sin so long they don’t know where that are. They have blinders over there eyes.
    They believe they are just living normal lives. When in reality the devil has them right where he wants them, happy in sin. The division from God when sin occours strikes us believers as a heart attack.
    Where did you go Jeaus I desperately need you back,
    Please forgive me for failing you, is the attitude that we display and we hit our knees in repentance and have a true oming back with God that we can feel. We feel lost and empty without him. We struggle just to do normal things. But when we are fully repented we gain our joy back and continue praising him. Now all is well and we are back at his table and we really know this is where we belong. This is where life is.

    On the other had someone that is content in sin feels rejected by us they know that the world has accepted them. The believers are just judging me. I’m not doing anything that bad. I live a good life. I’m not hurting anyone. We have lots of
    Nice friends. We play softball on Sunday mornings and have barbecues on Sunday night. We hang out with our kids and have fun with them. My oldest son is in college playing football and my youngest is on the debate team at the high school. I make over 100k a year. I have a beautiful wife. We have nice things and just bought a new house. Everything is great in our lives. We will live happily here. We don’t need Jesus. We will go to hell happy.

    We see this every day! What are we going to do about it?

  19. In this scripture, much is said, but we all would like to keep that covering. Under his wing as shown in vs. 7. We also want his loving kindness, and it is clearly okay to be fat in his house and to drink from river of his pleasure as in vs. 8. Not at Billy Bobs…….

  20. 5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
    Lord, let my faith reach up to the clouds!!!!!

    11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
    I will be exposed to things, but they will NOT gain access in my life!!!!

  21. Psalms 36:5-6 MSG
    God’s love is meteoric,
    his loyalty astronomic,

    The wicked man and his plans will all come to nothing. The response of the church to the one who is plotting evil, and destruction should not be hatred.

    One ounce of vengeance, malice, and retribution should not be within a child of God. David was the best example when he cried, interceding, and begged God to save his enemies.

    This is a spiritual battle. The love of God is able to break the walls down in anyone’s heart and lead them to the cross.

    Matthew 5:44
    44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

    His love is great, and ours must try to be as great as it can.

  22. 6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

    7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

    Through Gods righteousness and judgments we are preserved. We do not have to live in terror or uncertainty because we put our trust in God because of His loving kindness.

    10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

    Let this be our prayer, that as long as we continue to know God and live upright that He would continue to preserve us and bless us as He has been.

  23. A evil person that has rebellion in his heart is not terrifed of God. The righteous find relief in Gods love. That love protects the upright from hostility of evil men.

  25. 9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

    Since we are Christians and we must be Christ like. Then we are the mirror that the light of God can reflect off of to shine to the world. It all depends on how clean we keep our mirror; it will determine the brightness of the refelctivity of God’s light through us. Let’s keep our mirrors clean.

  26. PSALMS 36:9 FOR WITH YOU IS THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE; IN YOUR LIGHT WE SEE LIGHT. PRAISE YOU JESUS , IM READY FOR THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE.

  27. NLT 1 Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts.
    They have no fear of God at all.
    2 In their blind conceit,
    they cannot see how wicked they really are.
    3 Everything they say is crooked and deceitful.
    They refuse to act wisely or do good.
    4 They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots.
    Their actions are never good.
    They make no attempt to turn from evil.

    God, let me always hear your voice at all times. Those little unrighteous whispers turn into loud voices instantly, leading you to do evil. Leading you to do wicked things, and forgetting about God. Dont allow a small whisper to lead you the wrong way!

  28. Psalm 119:90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.

    Psalm 57:10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

    5 Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

    The love, mercy, and faithfulness of God is amazing. He is amazing!

  29. How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

    There is safety and peace even in these troubled times through placing our trust in Jesus. He desires to protect his chosen people. Our job is to be completly his.

  30. v9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light we see light.

    It’s our choice to walk in the light or to remain in darkness. I choose to walk in HIS LIGHT. There is life in JESUS!!!
    I’m thankful for HIS unfailing love.

    In him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. -John 1:4

    Thank the Lord for his light. In him is no darkness, he brings life unto men through the light of his word.

    David knows pride takes you away from god. Lord delver me from sin.

  33. A New NOW

    TRANSGRESSION [like an oracle] speaks to the wicked deep in his heart. There is no fear or dread of God before his eyes. For he flatters and deceives himself in his own eyes that his iniquity will not be found out and be hated. The words of his mouth are wrong and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and to do good. He plans wrongdoing on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject or despise evil. Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, extend to the skies, and Your faithfulness to the clouds. (Psalm 36:1-5 AMP)

    1 Corinthians 6:9-11
    9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

    According to our yesterday, none of us deserve to have a today of righteousness.

    9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

    It is only by Jesus that our NOW does not have to be what our yesterday says it should be. The devil likes to preach about NOW… now you will be stuck in your pit, now you will get nothing better than yesterday, now will you be hurt again, now you have no hope, etc. Yet God says, “I can give you a new NOW.” The now of the devil is often convincing because it is logical and based on common flawed living outside God. However, God has a now that rises above the ordinary, since after all He is extraordinary.

    Each day we get a choice, pick the devil’s now or let God redeem our now and make it His. Who will we give the pen to, to author our tomorrow?

    Hebrews 12:1-2
    1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

    God’s new NOW for us requires that NOW faith, which enthrones Jesus as King (author, implying one of authority over) of our NOW

    Who do we bow down to with our NOW?

    NOW Repent
    NOW Trust
    NOW Surrender
    NOW Worship

  34. There will always be those certain people who do not want you to succeed, ignore them and know that God is where your focus needs to be.

    PRIDE will keep you from the blessings that God wants to pour out into your life. Pride will block the hand of God from doing His will…pride will not let you recognize the error that you are in because you see it all fine. Pride will rob you of life keeping you from from the fountain of pleasures, without even knowing it. Pride will get you cast out and cut off. Pride smells rotten and the rotten is thrown away.

    OHHH LORD what GREAT MERCY!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVING KINDNESS. Yes INDEED with THEE IS the fountain of LIFE!!! THANK YOU FOR perfect peace and for Preserving the life of Your servant that sooo DESERVED to be cut off!!! I am abundantly satisfied ……… For with THEE SURELY IS THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE!!! YOU ARE THE LIVING GOD!!! Thank YOU JESUS!!!

  37. The Comforts of Home

    7How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

    8They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

    9For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

    Refuge, abundance, delight, refreshment and light. All the comforts of home! In this psalm, David describes in fervent terms God’s estate, David’s spiritual “home”. As God’s children, we find there everything we could possibly need-and more. We never have to settle for crumbs from the King’s table; we’re welcome to feast on His abundant provision. We need no mercy, no status, no resources of our own on order to fill up on the “richest of fare” (Isa 55: 1-2). Jesus himself is the fountain of living water, and those who quench their spiritual thirst with Him will never thirst again and never die.. ” 7There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:7-14)
