Psalm 53

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

  1. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

There is a Spanish author named Unamuno who claimed to be an existentialist. Most of the existentialist do not believe in God but Unamuno explain his believe in God this way. God exists because I exists, the mere reason of my creation explains that God exist for who else could be responsible for the creation of the world and everything else in it. It cannot be caused by an accident, I refuse to believe that I was created by an ups. The beauty of this world had to be created by thought and ingenuity, it had to be created by love. The only one responsible has to be God and because I exists I have to thank HIM, and by me thanking HIM, He exists.

For a long time I thought it was arrogant of him to think that way that God existance depended upon his; but that was not the point at all. The point was that God exists as long as we believe in Him. Those that don’t believe are fools walking around this world and don’t even exists; for God don’t exists in their lives.

  2. 5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

No matter how feared our enemies are, if they don’t fear God, He will cause them to fall. We must wait upon The Lord, but because He disspises them because they don’t fear him, he will cause them shame. As The Lord wins our battles, we need to remember to not rejoice over the fall of others, but rather over the victory that He is given us.

  3. I’m a sinner. When I see someone else do wrong I will remember this passage.

    1 John 1:8
If we say we have no sin, we decieve ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we ask the Lord forgiveness with a true and honest heart He will forgive us. I’m going to start NOW.

  4. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

    The heart of a fool…

Psalm 10:4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

He is saying the nature of a man that does not believe in God is utter foolishness or ruin. His morales, character, mentality, and spirituality will put him to shame.
When he dies and has to stand before the God he never believed in what will he say? How will he plead hos case?

    • We must also be careful that our actions abd speach does not tell others there is no God. When we do not seek Him we place ourselves in the same place as a fool.

  5. Terror will grip them, terror like they have never known before. God will scatter the bones of your enemies. You will put them to shame, for God has rejected them. Who will come from Mount Zion to rescue Israel? When God restores his people, Jacob will shout with joy, and Israel will rejoice. (Psalms 53:5, 6 NLT)

Revenge. Leave it all on Gods hands, He will honor His people in more and mighty ways then we ever could. & once he has we must remember to praise Him over the victory like Bro. Kevin said not the fall.

    Gods got my back!

  6. 3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

We must be careful not to go back but to keep moving forward. Forward may seem like an uphill climb because of the process and new territory, but going backward is a downhill slide that will take us farther than we want quicker than we realize.

Mathew 1143 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

When we go back we immediately become filthy with sin.
Mathew 14:23b …for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
Moving forward takes faith to walk into the unknown, going back knows no faith.

  7. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
    Psalm 8:4 (KJV)
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
    1Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are GOD’s

SALVATION IS TOOOO MUCH TO ASK FOR AND YET HE GAVE IT FREELY UNTO HIS CREATION
GOD IS SOOOO MERCIFUL….. HE NOT ONLY LOOKS DOWN Upon …..(psalm 53:2), BUT HE ALSO IS MINDFUL AND VISITS US (psalm 8:4) and……….. Then HE ALSO GIVES US THE PRIVILEGE TO HAVE HIS HOLY SPIRIT DWELL IN US (1 Corinthians 6:19)
There are soooo many more blessings in between ……. To give testimony…… A never ending praise report post…. …. …. Thank you JESUS…. I love you DADDY 🙂

  8. God sticks his head out of heaven.
    He looks around.
He’s looking for someone not stupid—
    one man, even, God-expectant,
    just one God-ready woman. MSG

He’s looking for one man, never say your not enough because you might be just what God is looking for.

  9. Verse 1 CEV reads “Only a fool would say, “There is no God!” People like that are worthless! They are heartless and cruel and never do right.”

It is sad; but, there are many who do say “There is no God!” I can’t even imagine what or who one hopes in, trust in or holds onto if they don’t know Jesus. The Bible says in John 8:12 NLT “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” POFW can lead them to that light.

  10. Are we children of men or children of God?

God looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any who understood, who sought (inquired after and desperately required) God. Every one of them has gone back [backslidden and fallen away]; they have altogether become filthy and corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one. Have those who work evil no knowledge (no understanding)? They eat up My people as they eat bread; they do not call upon God. (Psalm 53:2-4 AMP)

Being children of men is like being of this world. Void of understanding and knowledge, righteous living, selfish less and of a blessed future.

Being children of God is a complete transformation from being of this world. Having been blood bought and spirit-filled, as we seek and worship God he begins to pour out his anointing upon us. And the more time we spend in his presence we become more and more like him.

There are 4 areas of our lives that being to transform in our lives.
    1. Become full of love and compassion
    2. Obtaining a Servants spirit
    3. Righteousness
    4. Victorious/Overcomer’s

We will not be “Evil Shepherds” devouring the flock for our selfish gain. We become like the “Good Shepherd ” – its all about the sheep!!! Some are broken hearted, captive and bound and some are just lost wandering and seeking a shepherd. Let the Spirit and anointing lead us to Impact lives to save the world.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord , and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord , that he might be glorified. (Isaiah 61:1-3 KJV)

  11. How saddened the heart of The Lord must have been at the tevhiscpeople were in. Lord help us not to turn our backs and return to the world weave been delivered from, or lose our reverence of the LORDand have no Godly fear.

  12. How saddened the heart of The Lord must have been at the condition His people were in. Lord help us not to turn our backs and return to the world weave been delivered from, or lose our reverence of the LORDand have no Godly fear.

  13. This chapter illustrates today. There were many that turned away from God (Jesus) and they paid, there are sadly many that are also turning away from God today. One need only read the Word of God and today’s headlines for an unsettling resemblance. Therefore one (I) must; “Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.” May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  14. 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

God is looking down at us and looking for
The ones that truly love him and that seek his face.I want to be one of those that God is looking for.

  15. 2 God sticks his head out of heaven. He looks around. He’s looking for someone not stupid – one man, even, God-expectant, just one God-ready woman. MSG

God is looking for some good men and women to spread his word. Are we spreading God’s word or are we doing what we please and spreading other things? God help me to be a light and shine for him and not to be a stumbling block for anyone. No one is perfect that is why God gives us mercy everyday.
    Lamentations 3:22-23

    King James Version (KJV)

22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
    Thank God for his mercy!!

  16. NLT 4 Will those who do evil never learn? They eat up my people like bread
and wouldn’t think of praying to God.

Those with an unrighteous spirit never learn, as they continue to do wicked things. The older one gets the harder it gets to turn to God. Just like the saying goes “you cant teach an old dog new tricks”.

  17. ILove to eat the Book

    Fear where no Fear was

5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

When the power of God is upon his people, God will scatter those who come against them.

This reminds me of the testimony of BIG LUV.

One day BIG LUV called me aside to threaten me. He told me, (with his Muslim friend next to him) that my friend and I were going to stop praying so loud… We were bothering him.

In the flesh BIG LUV out weighed me 100 pounds and was very intimidating… But the Holy Ghost came upon me and all the sudden the fear that was meant for me turned upon BIG LUV. The Power of the Holy Ghost surged through me and I spoke with authority to BIG LUV that we would not stop praying loud and that if he beat us up every day we would continue to pray…

Later that day BIG LUV told me he was sorry…

5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was:

  18. Psalms 53:2
God sticks his head out of heaven.
    He looks around.
He’s looking for someone not stupid–
    one man, even, God- expectant,
just one God- ready woman. MSG

I like the way the message version portrays this verse. God is looking for someone.

The key is to be ready, and available when God says it is time. What a tragic day when God looks at a man and says it is time only to realize the man was unprepared.

    2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

When we are prepared, and God says it is time, there is no limit to what God can do through you.

  19. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3:13 KJV)

I did a study on atheism before. It was a very strange study. Part if the reason it was so strange was that the person that was a head spokes person for atheism was calling on a God he didn’t even believe in. He was makings some comments and he said something like my God I wish… Interesting! He was a lead speaker for the organization and he was still calling on God. WOW AIN’T GOD GOOD! Things that people say that they don’t realize they are saying still brings you back to God!

  20. v1 The fool hath said in his heart , There is no GOD. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Wow! How empty is the life of one who refuses to believe in GOD and in HIS GOSPEL.
The scripture speaks of one mediator between GOD and men the man CHRIST JESUS, who gave himself a ransom for all
    1Timothy 2:5-6

By HIS death on the cross, paying the penalty of all our sins, HE made it possible for us to be reconciled to GOD.
I’m thankful for HIS BLOOD and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and HIS SPIRIT.

  21. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (Psalms 53:1-3 KJV)
    LORD have mercy….

  22. 5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

    AMEN!!!! God is awesome!

  23. NOW Joy & Praise

6 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

    Psa 126
1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. 3 The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

On the journey of “here” to “there,” we have many opportunities to trip up or give up and abort the promise. However, when “there” becomes “here,” it is not time to stop; there is a “reaping and sacrificing” of joy and thanksgiving that should take place, even if at first by faith.

    Psalms 27:6
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

    Isaiah 51:11
Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

    NOW is the Time!
    NOW Dream by Faith!
    NOW have Joy and Rejoice!
    NOW Praise!
    NOW Reap!

  24. SEEK AND UNDERSTAND

2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

In establishing our relationship with GOD there are certain attitudes in us that he is pleased with. It is evident to me that a seeking attitude is one the foundational influences that we could possess in pleasing God.

We know that GOD in a whole is too big for us to understand, therefore we must seek HIM to understand HIM.

Understanding is the evidence or fruit of Seeking, and Seeking is the path to Understanding.

We cannot afford to miss our window of opportunity to UNDERSTAND the LORD as we faithfully, fervently seek HIM.

    iSeek
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  25. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

One word stood out from this verse to me; “understand”. God was looking, and is still looking at someone who does understands, that seeking God is life, abundant life. The word understand to me implied that he has tried to establish communication and relationship

  26. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

We may hear Gods word but we need to do something with it to go out and reach the broken familys, life, and more. So when God looks down on us he can see that our light is shining for him doing his work.

  27. In this scripture, is another great example of why mankind needed Jesus. We are uncapable of doing good, specially in a consistant manner. We needed the New Covenant, it saved us sinners with his blood and mercy. We as gentiles who aren’t of Jewish herritage are grafted in. Thank God……….

    “Now”…….

  28. It is not good for God to look down at mankind and not see any righteous among us. We must repent and let the blood of Jesus cover our sin.

  29. Letting Go

David brings his concerns and fears to God, asking Him to take over and take care of the problems he’s facing. He knows he can trust in God with the outcome. Which another wise man of God (Paul) said in Ro 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” God has proven Himself before and He’ll do it again (vs16-17).

Much of the time, what we care about is not entirely within our control. We can’t dictate the results of our best efforts; we can’t force our hopes to materialize; and we definately can’t make someone we love healthy and happy by sheer force of our own will. When we try to control outcomes, we carry a burden too heavy for human shoulders to bear. What a relief it is to finally let go, to heave our heavy burden onto the strong back of the Lord. He promises to sustain our hearts and minds with His peace (Php 4:6-7), And no matter what he chooses to do with what concerns us, we have the assurance that His decisions are guided by his love for us (1Pe 5:7) *God does not always proceed in a straight line. He is concerned not only with the individual in need, but with the corporate need as well. God wraps up my good with your good and the good of both of us with the good of others. The plot lines of our individual stories weave together to form His master plan. God takes Satan’s worst and transforms it into our best. Because we live in this world, trapped in the old order of things, trajedy will touch our lives because death is inevideble, but we know the One who swallowed up the grave, we Christians dont escape life, we overcome life: In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. (Ro 8:37). This promise anchors our all-to-shaky world to His unshakeable Kingdom. The love Christ has for you is a love you can cling to, for it will hold you.

For instance Martha, Lazarus’ sister knew that he was ill, and quickly has a messenger notify Jesus his friend. Now Jesus said that his illness would not end in death (John 11:4). Martha placed her burden upon Jesus’ shoulders upon calling out to Jesus, and trusting Jesus could save her brother. Now Jesus instead of running to their side went onto do the Lords work, because when youre busy doing the Lords work, the Lord is busy working on you. Now Martha and her sister needed to stand upon the Rock in His Word, that they would not return void. While we are all waiting on our miracle, their is a test in the midst. For David their was for the life of his firstborn of Bathsheba, and Martha and Mary for the life of their brother. *God’s love somtimes tarries for our good and His glory. *God’s ways are not our ways, but His character is still dependable. While Martha and Mary were sitting at Lazarus’ deathbed waiting for Jesus to arrive, they had nothing to hang onto except His word and what they knew to be the character of Jesus. They knew that Jesus loved their brother. They knew Jesus had the power to heal. You really find out what you believe in the darkest hours.

It was Martha not Mary who ran to meet Jesus as he arrived. The guests, the duties, all the distractions -were no longer distractions, nothing mattered but Jesus. Martha poured out her grief much like David does, she says “Lord. if you had been here my brother would not have died.” …but then shed added something that revealed just how much she had changed from the rebuke in the living room. “But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” No longer do we see a women trying to manipulate God. Instead of trying to rewrite the story of her brothers death- instead of putting a comma where there was a period, or a period where there could be a comma- Martha was placing the pen of their lives in Jesus’ hands. It is the kind of surrender and that kind of resolve that sets in motion the miraculous. Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever live and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26). *God’s plan is released when we believe and obey. *Let Go

Many Jews belived that the soul remained near the body for three days after death in the hope of returning to it. Lazarus was dead for 4 days, and they obviously thought all hope was gone. The Sadducees said there was no resurrection, no future life, no hell or heaven, that life on earth was all they had (That’s why they were so “sad you see”). The Pharisees, on the other hand, believed there was a future for the dead. They believed in the immortality of the soul and in reward and retribution after death. But neither sect understood the concept of resurrection. Certainly not the resurrection they were about to witness anyhow. *The end is never, the end; its only the beginning. When Jesus came late to Bethany it was an act of love. A gift of perspective. A foreshadowing meant as a mercy, not only for Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, but for his disciples you and me. Jesus knew we would struggle with the concept of resurrection, He knew we would have doubts after his death, he has to teach us along the way so we can understand when he places a period on a sentence of life. The Author of our faith prefaced his death with an act that would forshadow the resurrection. When Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead, He put to death Satan’s lie that the end, was the end. Trajedy may come. So will the darkness. But triumph is just around the corner. We simply leave behind our empty shells and go to glory. We serve a God who weeps with us, who understands the pain. Even though Jesus knew Lazarus was about to be raised from the dead he understood Mary and Martha’s pain. He did more than understand it, He felt it too. John 11:35 says “Jesus wept” Though Jesus knows our triumphant outcomes, he still gets down inthe middle of our sorrow and holds us close, mingling his tears with our own. Today we suffer, we don’t understand. But someday in that eternal Tomorrow, that same Jesus who weeps with us will wipe away every tear from our eyes. He’ll unbind the graveclothes of our earthly flesh, and we’ll be set free. All the trajedy- all the darkness-will instantly be swallowed up by triumph! Let Go, He wants to catch you

    • 2God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Turn away from the norm that is death.

  30. 5 There were they in great fear , where no fear was : for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee :thou hast put them to shame ,because God hath despised them . Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion ! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people , Jacob shall rejoice , and Israel shall be glad .
