Psalm 57

1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

We should be unashamed to praise God no matter where we are or whats going on! The whole earth is filled with his Glory. thank you God for your mercy

  3. GOd always watches over his people. Those that oppose his people will eventually come to naught, sometimes even being taken down by their attempt to destroy us.

  4. 8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

In the secret place of the most high, is where
I want to be when calamities surround me. He is my refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble!

    Psalms – Chapter 57
Psa 57:1 To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave.

This psalm was written by David as he fled from Saul and hid in a cave.

Even when David was on the run and fearing for his life, he made up his mind to worship The Lord.

Can you imagine…what if WE were on the run for our very lives…if someone was trying to kill us…if the government was trying to arrest us…would we take time out to blog and give God praise?

    Jesus help us!!!

  7. My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth. (Psalms 57:7-11 KJV)
Glory!!!! My VICTORY IS IN MY PRAISE!!!

  8. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Fixed means firmly established, anchored, to be firm, immovable.

I have found what I want in life. I want God and relationship with him. Though enemies arise I have made up my mind, there is not turning back. Any other focus and anchor for my mind can only describe my heart as broken.

Stayed on Jesus, my heart is fixed!

  9. 10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, tand thy truth unto the clouds.
11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

    iprarse You Jesus.
mourning is in the evening…. but joy and thanksgiving unto the Lord, comes in the morning.

  10. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

There comes a oint in each of our walks, where we have a choice to make as to whether or not we will fix our hearts or we will worry about all the goings ons around us…

  11. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

Praise him in the morning praise him in the noon time praise him all day long. When you are around people praise God and share the wonders of his mercy and love.

  12. This chapter illustrates peace. While fearful and in hiding, he had the peace of God. Though one may be in the midst of a storm, one can have the peace that only Jesus (God) can give; “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  13. WAKE UP AND PRAISE THE LORD!

7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

The power of a made up mind is underestimated in many aspects. In a dark season in David’s life he finds himself making an eternal decision. It is evident that when an individuals heart is fixed, because the external circumstances or surrounding problems do not hinder, affect or even faze the praise of the believer who possesses a made up mind whose heart is fixed on praising GOD regardless of circumstances.

Occasionally even the most faithful, fervent praiser will have to wake themselves from the mundane of life. Shake yourself, raise your praise, around the world let us sing and praise the LORD.

    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  14. My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. (Psalms 57:7-9 KJV)

David is completely Souled Out!!! Are greatest obstacles and pressures create our greatest faith in The Lord.

    Souled Out

I’ve come through the fire, I’ve come through the rain
But God, He never left my side
He’s my comfort through all hurt and pain

My heart is fixed, my mind’s made up
No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up
    His Spirit lives in me
    – and that’s the reason – I’m Souled Out!

  15. Before There Was Any Temple

Do you find it as significant as I do that King David, the greatest worship leader of the Old Testament, wrote all his psalms, sang all his songs, chose all his choirmasters, led all his processions, and gave us the great biblical model for God-centered worship, before Israel had any building they could enter for worship? It was his son Solomon who built the temple, not David. The great period of Israel’s creative, powerful, God-centered worship was during the reign of her poet-king David before there was any temple where the people could gather.

What’s the significance of this clear historical, biblical fact? The significance seems to be at least this: the temple that Solomon built was not essential for Israel’s worship. God willed that there be a temple and it was God himself that put it in the hearts of the people to build it (1 Chronicles 29:14, 18). But when God ordered history in such a way that David, the great worship leader of Israel, flourished in the generation before the building of the temple, God showed us clearly that the temple was not essential for true and deep and powerful worship.

John Piper preached this message and it says so much about our worship. Can we worship at home, on the streets at our job?
    What hinders our worship.

  16. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

In his time of persecution, David knew he was under the protection of God. He recognized the value of praise during his trials. We can also be covered with the shadow of his wings if we focus on Him during our time of trials – and praise him through it all! Praise is a weapon that cannot be used too much! It’s always in order!

  17. FIX YOUR HEART

v7 My heart is fixed,O GOD, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Our praise and worship should be unconditional . Even though it’s easy to sing when the sun shining bright but the same GOD that lives in our souls is there even when our sky is obscured by the dark storm clouds and when we the lions of this life threaten us on everyside , we too can say…..
“O GOD, my heart is fixed ” FIXED on HIS WORD HE is our hiding place and our security and our hope.

I’m reminded of Paul and Silas they sang praises with lacerated backs with no hope for release from prison.

GOD IS AWESOME !!! SING HIS PRAISES
    whole heartily.
Sing and Praise your way out of trouble.

    iSing and Praise unconditionally
iPray my heart is fixed on JESUS.

  18. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

My heart is fixed on praising God despite what this world throws at me. Gods mercy is great and greatly to be praised. He has done more than enough for me, the least I could do is be determined to praise Him against all odds.

  19. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

My soul trusteth in God I cry unto him in time of need for God does all things and deserves all praise.

  20. Verse 2 AMP reads “I will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me [Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them]!

Pslam 32:8 NLT “The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” God has a purpose for each and every one of us.

Verses 9-10 NLT “I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.”

  21. Vs. 1-2, “Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.”

I’m so thankful to know that God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Ps.46:1)

In my early morning prayer this morning, I took refuge in the shadow of his wings. I cried out to God for help, and he performed a miracle for me today.

I am so thankful for his mercy, and I am so thankful that we serve a God that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. (Eph.3:20)

  22. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

I am thankful for the mercy of God !!

  23. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

Praise God everyday, for everything he does in our lives!!

  24. 5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

The Lord is exalted above all. There is none like unto him. His glory not only is above all the earth it fills his people that are called be his name.

  25. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

Set your affections on things above and not on things of the earth. When set opur sight on Godly things the things around us don’t matter. God is what we need and want. THe things of this earth will pass away, but my God is forever.

  26. Which Gospel?

3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

    1 Peter 5:6-8
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

The devil would seek to reproach us, to swallow us up with accusation and condemnation like the intimidating, overpowering roaring of a lion. But the mercy of God deals with our deserved reproach and His truth defends us in our present. “Oh you’re nothing but a failure because…” says our enemy, but our God replies “That’s under the blood, I’ve paid that price already.”

Our justification is through Christ. We must cast our care entirely on Him and take Him at His Word. Sometimes a situation is such that we receive forgiveness of a sin but not healing. We must let His redemption reach every part of us, that there would restoration in us. Like the ten healed leapers, only the one that returned to praise and worship Jesus received restoration; we can have the sin stopped and forgiven yet remain damaged from the past unless we surrender it to Jesus and allow the fullness of redemption to have free course in us. Remaining damage gives the devil place to sneak in accusation and condemnation over our scars. The wound may be closed and dealt with, but the signature of the damage remains. The sin is dealt with, but redemption hasn’t turned the scar into a testimony, it’s still only a story of the past we might pull out only with great care and shame.

We must cast the care on God, surrender the old wounds, the ugly scars, the shame, the testimony against us so it can be a testimony for God.

    Revelation 12:10-11
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Let God’s mercy and truth reign, and be in our lives the Blood and truth that makes us overcomers, not nervous shamed escapers of hell. Heaven isn’t about sneaking in the back door with your head covered so nobody sees you; it will be a glorious celebration of God, and my testimony is a praise no angel can sing, and is unique even to me as an individual. The triumph of the cross is alive in me uniquely, as it comes uniquely to all who partake of it. It was an answer to all humanity’s sin, and was for each person individually not just us as a collective lost bunch.

    Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

I choose to not be ashamed of the Good News that called to me with specific redemption for me in my sin. I refuse to live in shame over what’s under the blood and be a prisoner to yesterday and the devil’s “gospel” of condemnation. I choose to show forth the gospel of Christ, to let the world see the victory and know the reason for the hope that is in me. I choose to live an overcomer in the gospel of Christ, and not be a slave to the “gospel” of the devil.

  27. Fear Vs. Boldness

How many of us have felt fear so strong as to go hide in a cave. So many of us hide from the enemy instead of confronting Him with the courage of God’s words. Stand up with BOLDNESS declare His Name and HIS VICTORY. I saw a picture that said I rather make someone mad into heaven that flattered them into hell. Lets stop compromising our Faith and start standing on the Truth, sure we might make them uncomfortable, we might hurt their feelings, and they might never come back but the Truth will echo in their mind and soul for ever.

Blog has not changed yet, which lesson have we not got on this one. LOL Bro. Morgan / Bro Tallant.

  28. Paalm 58
Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth. The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. (Psalms 58:2, 3 KJV)

I heard someone say one time that they did not want their 10 year old (or there abouts) baptized because they did not sin. This tells us that we were born into sin. We all enter into sin since the fall at the garden. We are all sinner who are saved by the Grace of God and Jesus name!

Thank you Zlord for saving ME!

  29. 2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

    Who Do You Cry To?

Most people cry out to God when they are faced with something monumentous. If a plane takes a nose dive and the pilot comes over the radio and says that the passangers need to brace themselves for a rough/ crash landing, everyone is going to say “OH GOD!” and cry out for help. As a car starts to roll-over or crash, people say “Oh God.” When people find out that they are going to die of cancer or AIDS or their teenaged unwed daughter is pregnant, they say “Oh God!”

People always cry out to the only one who can save when there is great tragedy in their lives, but how about when there isn’t great tragedy? Who do you cry out to when you get out of bed? As you head to work? all day long? As the church we should lead the people around us by crying out to God where ever and when ever. We should not wait for tragedy to strike, because as the church we have an advocate with the Father, we have been adopted by the King of King into His family, and we get the oppertunity to speak when ever we want.

We have a father who is waiting to give us this reigion, be we must be ready to take charge of it, and willing to cry to Him for all our needs…

  30. My heart is fixed on God…. Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  31. 8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

    Reason To Sing.
This chapter reminded me of a song by the title “Reason to Sing”. Reflecting on the chapter and what that song says made me realize of the ups and downs of human life. Sometimes we tend to forget what God has done for us daily. The song talks about when everything is going wrong, when we seem to lose control, I, we need to know that You, God still holds all the world in His hands. It pretty much asking God for hope. However if we were to be more like David and have our hearts “Fixed” what then shall move us, or separate us from the love of God. His mercy in itself is more than enough. His faithfulness praise worthy, His heart and love unfailing…what more can we ask for, for every time we cry into Him, He says here am I. My reasons to sing can go on and on, but I throw myself into His mercy and extend my arms to His amazing grace that He so freely gives. How can I not be grateful for He has forgiven this sinner time and time again. He has provided protection and care. He has delivered and redeemed. God is good!

  32. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

There is something about giving God first fruit of your day. God recognises what id important to us and he a jeleous God. I notice the difference in my days in how blessed they are when I get up early, have devotional time with him and BLOG. These past fewdays has been very hard to get started because of the situation im in but my God doent change. He still requires the first fruit of my day. I am repented that I have missed this blog and todays. The lesson is no matter what the situation makesure that the first thing we do is to praise him. We have to make up our minds to give him praise and fellowship with him before anything else. That is the example of how David in his first chair did it. I believe i have along way to go but my mind is made up. I will awake and be who God has made me to be.

  33. 9-10 I’m thanking you, God, out loud in the streets,
singing your praises in town and country.
    The deeper your love, the higher it goes;
every cloud is a flag to your faithfulness.

11 Soar high in the skies, O God!
Cover the whole earth with your glory!

Amen. This is a way to show your a man of God and thank him for what he has doe for you. We also reach out to people in this city and bring them to his house.

  34. 4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

No one know better this feeling than Daniel, the one who was thrown into the lion’s den because he was reported to not bow down before a false god, the king he was himself under. In Daniel its writen: “So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” (Dan 6:16) But somewhere inside the king, he knew he was no God, he couldnt eat for he fasted, refused music to cheer him up,and couldnt even sleep. But in the morning the king rushed to check on Daniel. “22My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. 23Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God. 24And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.” Like this earthly king God too desired to toss the accuser in judgment but instead into the inferno of an unquenchable hell. The tounge is a sharp sword and it can pierce the flesh of man, but the Lord when we build Him up to be our refuge becomes then our healer as well. When we are dead to this world and alive in Him, the sting will not be so harmful. “Where, O death, is your victory? Paul says in 1 Cor 15:55 is to remind us “Where, O death, is your sting?” Victory of the Lord is here NOW!

  35. 5 Be thou exalted , O God , above the heavens ; let thy glory be above all the earth . 7 My heart is fixed , O God , my heart is fixed : I will sing and give praise . 8 Awake up , my glory ; awake , psaltery and harp : I myself will awake early . 9 I will praise thee , O Lord , among the people : I will sing unto thee among the nations . 10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens , and thy truth unto the clouds . 11 Be thou exalted , O God , above the heavens : let thy glory be above all the earth . the 5th and the 11th verse are alike I noticed.

  36. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

My heart is fixed and there is nothing the enemy can do.
