Psalm 65

1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

  1. God’s Provision

The wonder of God’s bountiful provision is the theme of this joyful psalm of praise. God literally tends and blesses the land, sending rain and healthy crops so that the harvest carts will be filled with “abundance” (vs11). Can you imagine such a cart, overflowing with vegtables, grains, and fruit? Now we can take that literal picture of abundance and use it to visualize the spiritual as well as physical provision he provides for us (his children). This expression of God’s expert care of the earth can also be a metaphorical expression for the way he too takes care of us: “My people will be filled with my bounty. Declares the Lord” (Jer 31:14). Ps 23 echoes it as “5You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” Jer 29:11says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” so we know that God wants us to live with physical abundance and prosper. Eph 3:20 says”Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” in regard to the care God has in store for those who are connected to his vine for he ultimately is the gardner who “cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” and is addressed in John 15:1-11. (which would be too long to copy and paste)

When its meaning is taken spiritually and is verifiable by Acts 2:18 as God pouring out His Spirit “Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.”Which is a foreshadow of what Jesus himself says in John 4:14 “but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” He is a God of abundance, whose love enriches, drenches, softens, blesses and gladdens our hearts until we overflow with joy. God intends to continue to be our gardner/provider, for he doesnt stop here on earth now, but for our future as well for in Rev 22:2″ In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” This will only happen when we decide to live in abundance under the flow of annointing and blesing, a life on walking in holiness.

  2. ILove to eat the book

What a blessing it is to be able to come before the throne of God with boldness.

4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

  3. 9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Be that river of living water for all that thirst around you.

  4. Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea: (Psalms 65:4, 5 KJV)

  5. 4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

We must choose to chase after God. It is only when we chase him that we become at peace where God is because if we seek him, we will find him.

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13 KJV)

  6. Vs 3 Our sins may be more powerful than we alone can overcome, but God will help us and continually work on us to purify our lives. We must allow him access to every part of our hearts NOW.

  7. Though we are overwhelmed by our sins, you forgive them all. Psalms 65:3 NLT

We all make mistakes and fail. This verse clearly states that He will forgive us! And it’s up to us to understand that when we truly repent and are ready to change our way of life He will be there with open arms. Rise Up NOW don’t be overwhelmed by your sins seek Gods forgiveness and praise with thanks when He does!

  8. 2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

    Philippians 2:10 (KJV)
    That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

This world prays to so many gods that can’t even hear their prayers, and sure can’t do anything to help them. I am thankful that I know the one, true God that not only hears my prayers, but answers them as well. I want to help them know Him before it’s too late!

  9. Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. God chose us. Thank you Lord for seeing me and choosing me to dwell in your temple.

  10. 4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Here we see that it is not enough to only choose to be in the presence of God, but we must also cause it to happen. We must purpose in our hearts to seek His face continually that we might get to dwell in his prescence….

  11. This passage reminds me of when I got the Holy Ghost.
    Full of rejoicing and deliverance.
What a wonderful day that was everything stopped and my new life began.
I thank the Lord for what a joyous day that was and still is.
    Thank you Jesus.

  12. 4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

    1Peter 2:9
    But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

    Psalm 8:4-6
    King James Version (KJV)
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

    SANTO SANTO SANTO
EL SEÑOR ES 3 veces SANTO! I thank You JESUS FOR YOUR GREAT MERCY UPON MY LIFE

  13. DIVINE APPOINTMENTS

1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

This chapter encourages us to look beyond our set of circumstances to see how great, how faithful and how grand our GOD is. Too often our eyes and ears are so intently focused on our own lives we fail to recognize all that GOD is and more importantly, all that GOD does in his faithfulness.

Several occasions in this chapter we learn of DIVINE APPOINTMENTS.

    1. Praise awaits GOD in Sion.

    Praise – 8416. teh-hil-law´; laudation; specifically (concretely) a hymn:—praise.

This is why we sing unto the LORD! HE appears where PRAISE is.

Sion – Is referred to as a high place or the mountain of GOD. The place where GOD will meet HIS people. This is encouragement to WALK in VICTORY and continually PRAISE the LORD. To HIS redeemed it should not be an occurrence but a LIFESTYLE.

Psalms 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 O thou that hearest prayer

    Prayer – 8605. tef-il-law´; intercession, supplication; by implication, a hymn:—prayer.

GOD is listening for our voice in Praise and Prayer. Intercession indicates that we should come to him selfless and intercede for others that are estranged from GOD.

4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee,

This verse really destroys the thought that we are doing GOD a favor by serving HIIM. He CHOSE us and ATTRACTS us.

6 Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

The mountain peaks reveal HIS strength. Unmoveable, stable, sure and secure.

7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

The crashing waves of the sea and the troubles of our lives are a recliner for GOD!

9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

He appears to bring water and resources in the place of prepared labor.

    NIV
    9 You care for the land and water it;
    you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water
to provide the people with grain,
for so you have ordained it.[d]
    10 You drench its furrows and level its ridges;
you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
11 You crown the year with your bounty,
and your carts overflow with abundance.
    12 The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;
the hills are clothed with gladness.

Even the fields that have no eternal future future, respond to HIS visits. This DIVINE APPOINTMENT is not exclusively for the fields and crops, but for HIS children to be BLESSED and have resources.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

Animals, flocks for food and raiment cover the pastures and the bleating of the sheep are a song and shout of joy into the LORD.

How much more is our lips giving thanks to his name.

In the name of JESUS I anticipate my DIVINE APPOINTMENT with GOD.

  14. You visit the earth and saturate it with water; You greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; You provide them with grain when You have so prepared the earth. (Psalm 65:9 AMP)

God is always meeting our needs that’s something to be thankful for! 🙂

  15. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

The orginal meaning of Sion, Meaning:

Originally a stronghold captured by David (the 2nd king of the Israelites); above it was built a temple and later the name extended to the whole hill; finally it became a synonym for the city of Jerusalem
    (according to http://www.audioenglish.net/dictionary/sion.htm)

To me David is saying, go to my house God and you will always find praise.

God is the only one with the answers. I will put my trust in him.

  16. Verses 3-5 NLT read:

“Though we are overwhelmed by our sins,
    you forgive them all.
What joy for those you choose to bring near,
those who live in your holy courts.
    What festivities await us
    inside your holy Temple.
You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds,
    O God our savior.
You are the hope of everyone on earth,
even those who sail on distant seas.”

Even if life/sin has drifted you away or afar off, the Lord is still right there. The beginning of Malachi 3:6 NLT says “I am the Lord, and I do not change……..” Jeremiah 29:13-14 NLT “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”

  17. The Rain Dance

9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

Pastor preached that everytime we see a miracle Jesus is there. Everytime we speak with toungs he is there. Everytime we get a blessing he is there because all things good vomes from him. Everytime we breath he has ordained it because all life comes from him. The rain causes harvest to grow. It will not grow without rain. We also hear from Brother Ward about the farmers who didnt recieve rain and their harvest died. When your harvest dies it akes you pray. It causes you to beg God for some rain. When you harvest hay you can get up to 3 cuttting of hay per season. 3 cutings means alot of money for the farmer because he plants once and harvests 3 times. it is a triple blessing. The farmer prays for rain so tha he can feed his family. If you dont have any hay then your cows wont make it through the winter. If they dont make it then you dont make it, so PRAY! This rain is the promise of life for the farmer. It is so or us as well. We can hang all the door flieres we want but if God isnt in it there will be no harvest or reward for our efforts. Inviting people to the house of God and planting that seed is just the first step of the harvest. We have to pray in the rain. We have to rely on God to bring fotrh his harvest. Yn the rain ou know the farmer does a dance of Joy when he sees that rain start to fall. He is forever greatful for the blessing that we sometimes take for granted. We have to pray the rain in and praise our God for the increase.

Lets do a rain dance POFW

  18. This chapter illustrates supplier. Praise is given to the Creator (Jesus). One should never become full of oneself for it is God that chooses; “For many are called, but few are chosen”. One would be wise to praise and give thanksgiving unto God, for all provision is from him; “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  19. 4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

God chooses who will approach his throne, we can’t help God decide who he wants to serve him, he doesn’t need our help. To dwell in his presence to me is to stay in it, to continually be seeking God’s face and constantly be striveing to live the way he wants us to. To pray through over and over again just to say that we want his will to be done and whatever we can do to please him we will do. We should be MORE than satisfied with God alone and not want anything else, since we are human that’s a little hard but he loves us still. God makes me feel better than anything in this world ever has, to dwell in his presence is what I desire. Halelujah for this word and THANK YOU JESUS for being our provider. You are so faithful God THANK YOU!!!

  20. v4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causes to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts:we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

It is a privilege to sit together in heavenly places in CHRIST JESUS. Eph.2:6

HE draws us to give ourselves to HIM in WORSHIP. HE IS a jealous GOD and will not share HIS glory or worship with another.

HE deserves our very BEST WORSHIP because HE forgave our sins and saved us.
We also give HIM our best worship because of WHO HE IS, GOD ALMIGHTY !!!

    iPray
    iPraise
    iWorship
    iAm blessed

  21. 1 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.
2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

Follow God. Thats it just follow God in His ways.

  22. 2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

3 Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

The Lord forgives all of our sins, what an awesome God we have.

Thank you Lord for your mercy and grace. God loves everybody.

  23. Vs.4, “Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.”

I believe it wasn’t long ago, we heard a message at DFC about having Access to God. I am so thankful that God has called me and chosen me. I am so thankful that I have access to him. What an honor and privilege it is to stand in the presence of God and worship him.

Thank You JESUS !! I call you Abba, Father. My Father, Father.

  24. In the last verse, sounds like to me of being blessed abundantly. Pastures clothed with flocks and the hills covered with corn. Fruit…yup I can see those flocks for POFW, and well provided for. Praise God……….

    “NOW”……………

  25. 1-2 Silence is praise to you, Zion-dwelling God, And also obedience. You hear the prayer in it all.

I will respect Gods house with all my heart and mind. I will obey his command and go down the path that he has plan for me.

  26. All of creation praises God and it cannot be silent! But a man whom God chooses to approach his throne has the greatest praise of all. Ours is the voluntary praise of the redeemed! And I want my praise to be the greatest of all the praise of this world.

  27. 4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

For many are called, but few are chosen. -Matthew 22:14

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: -1 Corinthians 1:26

Thank God for choosing us. He brought us out of darkness into his marvelous light.

  28. Loving God

    Psalms 4:5-8
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord. 6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. 7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. 8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

Beyond the blessing is God. It’s not about the blessing, it’s about Him, that is how we can rest in peace even before the blessing.

“Don’t hurt the boy or harm him in any way!” the angel said. “Now I know that you truly obey God, because you were willing to offer him your only son.” (Genesis 22:12 CEV)

    1 John 5:2-3 KJV
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

The blessing is not greater than the Blesser. Of all that Jesus does for us in salvation, it ultimately boils down to eternity with Him in restored relationship. Our priorities need to keep in line, lest we fall after receiving the blessing; the rain that waters can also drown. Loving God should never come second to loving what He does for us.

  29. Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house,

God chose us… He called us and cases us to approach Him. It is a blessing enough to obtain salvation by coming to God, but then he pours out provision for all that we need, blessings that satisfy our life.

  30. 5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us , O God of our salvation ; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth , and of them that are afar off upon the sea : 6 Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains ; being girded with power : 7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas , the noise of their waves , and the tumult of the people . 8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens : thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice .

  31. 4 All the earth shall worship thee , and shall sing unto thee ; they shall sing to thy name . Selah . 5 Come and see the works of God : he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men . 6 He turned the sea into dry land : they went through the flood on foot : there did we rejoice in him . 7 He ruleth by his power forever ; his eyes behold the nations : let not the rebellious exalt themselves . Selah. 8 O bless our God , ye people , and make the voice of his praise to be heard :

  32. Reading of the power of the spoken word that was used at creation makes us realize what an Awesome God we serve. He can use that same creative word in our lives, creating a masterpiece for His glory. He just be still and be the canvas available for His use.

  33. Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

This is true blessing its more than stuff but ti be able to approach God and to he chosen by Him.
