Psalm 66

1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:

Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.

Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.

He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.

He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:

Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.

10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

11 Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.

12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

13 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,

14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

15 I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.

16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.

18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

  1. 12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

I’m praying myself through the fire and water, trusting that God will bring us out ino a wealthy place. I’m going though, I’m going through, I’ve made up my mind, I’m walking with Jesus and I’m going through!

  2. 18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR MERCY……
Many do not comprehend the importance of having a repenting heart. Every time that we repent (whole hearted), GOD hears that we acknowledge that without HIM we can do nothing. It’s not about the fall or the situation, it’s about ALWAYS having a repenting, humble and contrite heart that will bring us into the presence of GOD. If the attitude is right, then getting back up part isn’t as hard as WE sometimes make it out to be (unforgiveness towards oneself) to continue to serve GOD with our entire being.

HALELUJAH !!! I thank YOU JESUS

  3. 16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

Share your testimony so others can say “NOW I KNOW, JEHOVA IS LORD”.

There is not enough space for me to share all that our Lord has done for me. Thank you Jesus for you Grace and Mercy. Praise The Lord Oh my soul and everything that is within me Bless His Holy Name!!!!

  4. 7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

    Matthew 28:18 (KJV)
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

    Luke 14:11 (KJV)
For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

No one should exalt themself; they have no power of their own. God is the only One who rules by His own power. Even satan has to get permission from God to operate. (See Job 1:12)

  5. 18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: 19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. 20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

Many times people think that as Pentecostals we are too loud, or maybe even that we pray too much. We on the other hand just née to turn to the scriptures. The thing that makes God hear us less is not asking or religious affiliations, but sin. That is why Jesus died on the cross. God wants to have that relationship with us. He wants to prove his kindness and mercy. He wants to show himself as love and our provider/healer. . . All of these thing get us to the kind of NOW moments that Pastor was talking about last night. Then we have a monument to look back on in our lives and say, “Now I know that God answered my prayers!”

  6. Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. (Psalms 66:16-20 NLT)

Our testimony is very powerful!! Tell someone what God has done for you.

  7. ILove to eat the book

18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

This is why Repentence is so important. If we have sin that we know is unconfessed, God will not hear our prayer.

We must always ask for forgiveness and strive to live a clean life.

  8. Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:

Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. If you start the morning with praise to the Lord it will make your whole day go better.

  9. 4 All the earth shall worship thee , and shall sing unto thee ; they shall sing to thy name . Selah . 5 Come and see the works of God : he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men . 6 He turned the sea into dry land : they went through the flood on foot : there did we rejoice in him . 7 He ruleth by his power forever ; his eyes behold the nations : let not the rebellious exalt themselves . Selah . 8 O bless our God , ye people , and make the voice of his praise to be heard :

  10. Verses 16-20 MSG read:

“All believers, come here and listen,
let me tell you what God did for me.
I called out to him with my mouth,
my tongue shaped the sounds of music.
If I had been cozy with evil,
the Lord would never have listened.
But he most surely did listen,
he came on the double when he heard my prayer.
Blessed be God: he didn’t turn a deaf ear,
he stayed with me, loyal in his love.”

We need to be careful and not get so cozy in life; for we want the Lord to hear our prayers. Proverbs 15:29 MSG says “God keeps his distance from the wicked; he closely attends to the prayers of God-loyal people.”

  11. God is terrible

3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

I’m not sure that anyone ever thinks of Gos being terrible? But here we see a terrible God if you are on the wrong side of a righteous mans prayer. This is a perfect example of how powerful our prayers are. We have to exercise our faith in putting a stop to our enemies with the power of prayer. Prayer is the weapon of choice. The promises of God are our battle armor. His voice is our battle plan. His terribleness is our refuge.

  12. 16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

We all have great testimonies of what God has done for us !I think of that old song,He has done so much for me ,I can not tell it all! God does things for us that we don’t even think about,we just take them for granted. How many times have you been running late, and right down the road, there was a terrible wreck ,that you only missed by five minutes.God is so good !!I give Him Praise!!!!

  13. A song of exaltation unto God. Even when God allowed men to come against David, still David remained steadfast, unmoveable and his faith remained unshakeable. Many times when we are being tried with the flood and the fire, that is when the true level of our relationship with the Lord comes out.

Let the words of my mouth always sow the seed of exaltation and praise unto the Lord, no matter what state I am in I will be content and give God praising, knowing that He will bring me out!

  14. MAKING GOD DEAF

The Bible says “it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living GOD. Hebrews 10:31

Along with the promises of GOD comes an incredible responsibility. The most pressing responsibility is to share the GOSPEL (good news) with everyone we come in contact with. The devil hates this! He hates for GOD’s people to talk about GOD; especially how much HE loves humanity , to come to the earth in the form of man through the body of the Christ JESUS and offer himself a sacrifice for all of the sin of humanity. The devil responds to this activity of sharing the GOSPEL by his own FEAR, in an attempt to stop the redeemed of GOD he uses a very popular tool he possesses, which is intimidation. In satans attempt to silence the testimony of the LOVE of GOD he will through up someones past sin, uncertain future or current trial. However as we learn here from the Psalmist. We MUST be about our Father’s business NOW!

We need to fear GOD more than the devil!

David began with HIS testimony! Victory comes through sharing our TESTIMONY!

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

GOD loves to hear us brag on HIM! He loves to hear us talk to others about what he has done for us. The devil hates IT. I hate the devil, so lets talk about what JESUS has done. Talk about how when we were in sin we cried out unto GOD and he heard us! Talk about how we love to PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME JESUS! This is what the psalmist does here.

He then throws this “clause” in. 18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

GOD will not allow HIS goodness to be compromised. HE knows the heart . In sharing his own testimony, David also includes this warning, if you do not intend to stop sinning, you will be MAKING GOD DEAF to your cry.

John 9:31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

It is time NOW to repent!

David shared this principal from his own experience. Clean hands and a pure heart along with our TESTIMONY and a healthy, hearty PRAISE will gain the total attention of GOD. However, a half hearted, uncommitted, proud attitude with evil imaginations will be the path to MAKING GOD DEAF.

Choose NOW to repent of any iniquity in your heart.

Iniquity – 1) trouble, wickedness, sorrow
    a) trouble, sorrow
    b) idolatry
    c) trouble of iniquity, wickedness

    Sin, sorrow or idolatry.

  15. This chapter illustrates thankfulness. Although there were trials and burdens, there was even more so praise. One must go through things, if one is to reach the other side with a thankful heart; “The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth”. May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  16. Psalm66:5,6
Come and see what The Lord has done
How awesome his works in man’s behalf!
( in Spanish it says what he has done to my soul)(6)he returned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot–
    Come,let us rejoice in him.
When I read this, I think about everything that the LORD has done or me,all that I have gone through sice ( 2007).ups and downs, he has always been there….
16.- come and listen, all you who fear The Lord ;let me tell you what he has done for me.
—– we’ll, first thing wonderful moment in my life when I got the revelation of this verse:
I love him, cause he loved me first;SALVATION,his presence in my life, and then his promisess….. In Dec. 2008 I was put in the deepest, darkest scariest, evilest pit, and GOD delivered me from it.
Through out these years2007–20012) I have felt anger, hatred, loneliness, discouragement, greed , and can 100% say that GOD has delivers me from all that. And I still have many, many more thingS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SAY that the lord has done.to my soul,in my life…..
Almost forgot, also, he has put a new song in my mouth… It didnt matter how terrible the situation was, I knew I had to praise my Lord
(My Abba) PRAISE IS WHAT I DO… In the morning, in the noontime even when the sin goes down, he is worthy of my praise.
    (17,18,19,20)
I cried out to him with my mouth;his praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my heart,THE LORD
Would not have listened;but GOD has surely listen and heard my voice in prayer.
    Praise be to GOD,
Who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!
    Psalm 34:4,5,6.

me;he delivers me from all my fears.
Those who looked to him are radiant their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the LORD heard him,he saved out of all his troubles.

    LORD!
You Are good and your mercy
    endurance forever!!!

  17. We were created to make His praise glorious. We were created to worship. We were created for His honor and glory. This psalm is a praise song with a wonderful message. It praises God for the victory and sings of the great and awesome qualities of God, “how terrible are thy works, and in the greatness oh thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.”.
The psalmist also makes a very important clause; if I regard inequity in my heart the Lord will not hear me. It is very important to repent to get right with God. Sometimes we do things that we don’t remember or even recognize that they have been sin. We must ask the Lord to reveal to us that or anything that may hinder our prayer, and ask Him to help us pray with a right heart. We must pray for ourselves first then others…

  18. 6 He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
Who says God won’t/can’t make a way!!?!!???? My God is awesome! My God is mighty! My God can do anything! All it takes is that faith, that unshakeable faith that knows without a doubt that God will make a way! We gotta know that we serve the almighty and with him we can do all things Christ has done and more! Take a step out on faith don’t look down or around, just keep your eyes on HIM and he will always provide. My God will always show up and show out and I will exalt him forever! I will always lift up my praise because he is worthy!!!!!

  19. In this scripture, I have seen plenty of verse 10. But, still yet to see verse 12. Please make haste Lord Jesus……

    “Now”…..due season………

  20. O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard: Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved. For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins. Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place. I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows, Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble. I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah. Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. (Psalms 66:8-20 KJV)
As seasons change, my life changes as well. But one thing that I do know is that God is faithful all the time. If His word tells me that He will never leave me nor forsake me…. I’m trusting in Him. For His word is Solid, it’s Truth. And I’ll take that to the bank!!

  21. 12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

God has a better place for those that want it. For those that keep his commandments and honor his holy name.

As we do the works of God he will see the intention of the heart. God will protect us as we walk through the fire day in and day out. He has a plan for each of us.

Thank you Lord for all you do, I love you Lord of Lords, King of Kings.

  22. 12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

We dream of going into the wealthy place. A place of promise, blessing, and destiny calls at us daily. Many wish to wake up in the promised land we have been expecting.

The psalmist declare “we went through fire and water.”

The fire purifies and removes impurities.

    1 Peter 1:7
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

    The water washes, and cleanses.

    Isaiah 1:16
    Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

The two main ideas from each passage are faith, and separation.

We show faith by our obedience to his word, and our belief in his word.

Our separation from this world unto God allows us to grow in relationship with him.

Get these two down and next stop the wealthy place!

    Psalms 66:10-12
    He trained us first,
passed us like silver through refining fires,
11 Brought us into hardscrabble country,
pushed us to our very limit,
12 Road- tested us inside and out,
    took us to hell and back;
    Finally he brought us
    to this well- watered place.
    MSG

  23. v20 Blessed be GOD which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

GOD IS OUR STRENTH AND PROTECTION.
HE keeps and protects us from harm.
ALL of HIS resources are ours.

We should always share the good news and give testimonies of deliverance publicly announcing answered prayers by our
    AWESOME GOD!

    iPray
    iPraise
    iBless the LORD
    NOW

  24. Vs. 16, “Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”

We all have a Testimony to share of what Jesus has done for us in our lives. NOW is the time to Testify !

  25. A Listening God

God can hear everything. In Isa 59:11 “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear”. Man puts seperation between himself and God. Its repeated later in John 9:31 “We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will.” God’s love for us is unconditional, but our fellowship with Him is not. In any relationship, good communication only happens when both parties are fully present and sincere. “3Can two walk together, except they be agreed? ” (Amos 3:3). When we communicate with God who sees into the depths of our heart, we can’t fool Him with false devotion. If we’re talking out of both sides of our mouth -praying in one breath and pursuing our own selfish intrests in the other- then our communication with God will be short-circuited, We can’t expect to enjoy sweet fellowship with him in the garden (in ref to Adam and Eve) while we’re holding on to our own agenda, planning to disobey Him or disregarding all togeter His will. The good news is that, because of Christ Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins that treatened to seperate us from Him, all it takes to reopen the lines of communication with our Father is sincere, simple prayer and repentance. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” We have a free spiritual calling card, we never have to worry about bad reception unless it is because of sin on our end. Jesus is on the main line, tell Him what you want! For it is written time and time again about how He is trying to get through to us. God is ever listening, whether he agrees with what he hears or not, he is the judge. Question is are we listening? Lord I pray you forgive me of my sins, and clear the lines of communion between you and I, Give me your ears to hear you.

  26. 1 All together now – applause for God! 2 Sing songs to the tune of his glory, set glory to the rhythms of his praise MSG

Let there be a praise in your heart all the time. Praise him in the storm and praise him when all is good.

  27. 1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:

2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.

These verses says it all. Verse two reminds me of the song “Make his praise glorious” We are to sing the praises of God at all times because he is worthy to be praised.

  28. 12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

Give Him the praise through battles, because in the end He will always win!

  29. 4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.

And thy name is Jesus! Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess. All of the earth will worship God in His glory, that is all of creation not just mankind. Every false god will fall and the glory of God will be revealed, no more buddha, allah, or any other. All worship will be given to the one who truly deserves it.

  30. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. -Proverbs 14:12

Lord lead me in the paths of righteousness. Teach me Lord to know thy ways. I am simple in understanding show me the depths of thy knowledge.

  31. 10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
11 Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.
12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

It is when we are found faithful in the small things , that God will reward us openly. God will give us bigger and greater things to be over when we are faithful in the small. Tried through the fire and beaten as the metal, so God does to try us to see how we will handle the crushing effects when the time for the crushing for the anointing takes place. Though this is when we see just how true our own faith is in God. The word says that God will not put no more than we can handle. When we think that we can’t go no further , there is always more. The harder the pressure the more oil “anointing” can come through. Allow the pressure to show what the true colors of our life truly are. What are you made of?

  32. NOW Testify!

16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

We must testify of what God has done!

    Revelation 12:10-11
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

There is victory in the Blood, but also victory in the testimony. We can be content with the victory of the blood, but if we really want to see the devil cast down and shut up, we must go on to victory in our testimony. What good is it to be freed from some sin yet still live in the shackles of the enemy’s testimony against us? No, no, if my God has set me free, then it’s His testimony that must reign in my life, not the enemy’s!

    NOW Faith
    NOW Salvation
    NOW Testify
    NOW Victory

  33. Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul

    Psalm 40:9-10 ESV
I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold,I have not restrained my lips,as you know,O Lord. I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not coned your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.

  34. 7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

8 O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:

9 Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.

We can’t keep his awesome miracles and works. We share his word with the lost and the broken. Who are wait for us to knock their door and for them to come to his house.
