Psalm 74

1 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.

They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.

They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.

12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.

16 The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

18 Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Lord, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

19 O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

20 Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

22 Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

23 Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

v12 For GOD is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

GOD IS WORKING salvation in the midst of the earth. NOW!!! thank you JESUS!!!

When troubles overcome-my praise it makes one feel defeated. It affects our thinking and attitude. I’ll admit in past times troubles knocked the praise out of me.
Until our Pastor taught me ( us )how and why to praise. Thank you JESUS! for a praising church!!!

And it wasn’t until the Psalmist remembered GOD’S POWER AND MIGHT!!!
So go ahead get your praise on!!!

It’s not healthy to fill our minds with junky web-sites, television programs and negative reports that do not reflect GOD’S values.

We must learn to reject such thought patterns and embrace what GOD’S WORD says…
( I’m working on that and it feels so good to excerise and stretch my faith. Makes me rejoice in GOD’S , POWER and MIGHT.
( I’m learning ” Tis so sweet to trust in JESUS just to take HIM at HIS WORD.)

And guess what ?it works!!! So encouraging to see GOD ANSWERS PRAYER!!!!
    Thank you JESUS!

Prayer and GOD’s WORD will cause us to think, live and be in tune with JESUS.

Apostal Paul said,” to dwell on those things that are true, honorable, and worthy of praise. Phil.4:8

    iPray
    iPraise
iDwell on things that are true, honorable,
    and worthy of praise.
    iReap Godly thinking

  2. Revelation 22:19~20
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He which testifies these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

I pray for those people who go against what God says in HIS Word.
IPray that INever GO against what God tells me and if IDoIneed Irepent Quickly and strive to be all willing to obey Him.
dearJesusPlease forgive me for all my distance days from You.
I will follow You, dear Jesus.

  3. 16 The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.
17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

HALELUJAH !!! From one end to the other is JESUS’ why would we (the creation) fall into the “trick” of the enemy to bow our knees to the creation……..? Why??? Why do we seek after to find an “easy way around” GOD …… when we know that JESUS IS THE (ONLY) WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE!!! It would be a GREAT idea to bow, worship and seek HIS FACE WHILE HE (JESUS, THE CREATOR , THE GREAT I AM AND OUR FIRST LOVE) MAY BE FOUND. HE SEES ALL OF THIS……..
THANK YOU JESUS!!! I love You DADDY!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  4. vs 19 God cares for even the smallest. He does not forget them. How much more does he care for those that call on his name and believe and follow his Word.

  5. 11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.

I’m ready for God to break the head of the adversary. He is God, nothing is impossible for him!

  6. Stand up and recognize WHO’S YOUR DADDY?

16 The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

He made it, He created it, It all belongs to HIM. The Lord is tired of wishy washy people, the ones that like to walk the gray line. It is either black or it is white, you can’t balance yourself in the middle for too long sooner or later you will fall. It is time to recognize who do you adore, who will you worship, God or mammon? I am sorry to have to tell you but if you are a wolf in sheep clothing YOU LOSE!!!! VICTORY BELONGS TO THE LORD!!!!!

Are you a child of God?? Stand and be recognized????
    Luke 6:43-45
43 “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

****This SATURDAY it is MILK & BREAD outreach come and be recognize by the good fruits of your work****

  7. 3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
4 Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

Many people of the world see the people who were “leading others to Christ'”, and they see them slip up, or the minister is caught doing as he or she shouldn’t, and the world uses these people as a sign of how the entire church is all the time. We must be diligent to guard ourselves, and behave as we should, righteous and holy.

  8. This chapter says to me “protect the holy things of God.” Their carelessness, and compromise soon led to them being over run with the enemy. Soon the idolatrous ways they were flirting with became their prison guards.

The psalmist cries out for deliverance as he should but there is a grave lesson. They are reaping the harvest of their deeds.

Imagine what harvest comes from protecting holiness, and maintaining an uncompromising stance.

  9. David has changed. He sounds different. He is no longer happy and convinced, now he sounds upset and left out.

1 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
What happened? His prayers ended! His language has changed. He sounds somewhat depressed. He is not as focused on God. This is also what happens with us. When we take our focus off God we change too. It is like the sinking if Peter when he was walking on the water with Jesus. We need to stay focused. Don’t stop praying. Don’t stop looking to Jesus.

  10. O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt. (Psalms 74:1, 2 KJV)
What a terrible place to be, for one man to find himself without GOD in his life. It is rightly said… “REMEMBER” GOD IS GOD!!! We( I ) need to remember who God is, I believe that it’s never His intention to leave us, ‘ I will NEVER LEAVE THEE NOR FORSAKE THEE.’ But its when He/We let go of His hand and walk alone, feeling deserted, the mind begins to wander in the valley. It’s where I need to REMEMBER the goodness of GOD and say GOD I remember what you did on Calvary for me, I remember when I was born again, I remember, when my husband was born again, I remember when… This is my GOD!! I’m not going to fear when trouble comes my way, or speak negative about God and His Word ( it’s exactly what the enemy would want me to do.) but in return I SHALL say ‘Michelle… REMEMBER.. Then I will turn my situation around as I begin to REMEMBER, then it will be turned into praise and worship, then my VICTORY will follow and my enemies will know that I SERVE A MIGHTY GOD!! Yes HALLELUJAH

    • Through it all. He stopped and had a praise break saying how mighty The Lord is. Which lets me know that no matter what’s going on just remember to stop and have a praise break! No matter what The Lord is worthy of our praise.

  11. For God is my King of old, working

    12

salvation in the midst of the earth. God is same today as he was yesterday. Praise the Lord

  12. THE VALUE OF THE CHURCH

2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

David’s plea for righteousness in troubled times is a vivid reminder of where we live today. Churches of the doctrine of the New Birth Apostolic salvation have been desolated by false doctrines and fleshly lifestyles. Churches of Prayer have become churches of performance. Wolves have come in to destroy all that GOD has established through the name of JESUS; only to find little or no resistance by prayer and discipline.

Our prayer today should match that of David, “Remember thy congregation”! Reminding the LORD that we recognize why he created man (relationship) and why he came to earth in the form of man (salvation) and why HE birthed the church (redemption) we remind the King of GLORY of HIS greatest investment. We remind HIM of the apple of HIS eye:

Psalm 17:7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

My prayer today is for The Pentecostals of Fort Worth, that the LORD JESUS will remember HIS congregation, to PROTECT, HEAL and BLESS those HE has redeemed. JESUS will walk among us with HIS Power, Knowledge and Wisdom for the GLORY of HIS Great Name.

    In JESUS name.

    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

    NOW

  13. 2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

We see in the scripture many times that someone is reminding god of what her promised or reminding god of what he has done. God doesn’t forget what he’s done or the promises he has made. The reminder is for us do you remember where god brought you out of and do you remember the promises he’s made? Keep those promises and testimonys close to your heart because…

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

This is our battle plan. Stick to the plan and win!

  14. Verses 16-17 MSG read “You own the day, you own the night; you put stars and sun in place. You laid out the four corners of earth, shaped the seasons of summer and winter.”

This reminded me of this song:

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
And who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And who showed the moon where to hide till evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

Well I know my Redeemer lives
    I know my Redeemer lives
    All of creation testifies
    This life within me cries
    I know my Redeemer lives

    The very same God
    That spins things in orbit
Runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m broken
They conquered death to bring me victory

  15. Vs.3-4, “Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregation; they set up their ensigns for signs.”

Not everyone that comes to the house of God is a sheep. Some people that come in are wolves dressed up in sheep’s clothing. That’s why I’m thankful for a Pastor that is sensitive to the Spirtit and leading of God. Because anytime he feels like a bad spirit is in the church, he casts it out. Thank You Pastor for protecting the sheep.

Also, Vs. 9 says, “We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.”

I just want to say, “I’m thankful for the prophet that God has put into our lives.”

  16. 12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

This psalm speaks of God, protection and revenge. David asks God not to forget His people, the ones that really seek after Him, and to fight for them. In the midst of the congregations seem that evil men have crept in and defiled the Holy things of God and blasphemed the name of the Lord with their doings. God is the creator of all; all power and might are in His right hand. David calls upon that power as a salvation for God’s people. He asks the Lord to give to them according to their evil works. Arise Lord protect your sheep from the workers of evil..
The Lord is our strong tower and our salvation. Our place of rest and hope should be with God and the congregation of His people, the church, and God will protect the church from the workers of evil who have crept it unaware, through our intercessory prayers.

  17. This chapter illustrates fear. They were mentally beaten and fearful. One must be strong in the Lord; “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  18. 1 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? 2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

In this chapter the people felt like God had turned away, so the writer is reminding God that these people had been purchased by Him, redeemed by Him. Not that God needs reminded, but there are times in my prayer I remind Him of promises that I feel He gave me that I have yet to see fulfilled, or when things are not going as I had hoped, or thought, I remind Him of those things, building a memorial before Him of those things yet to be seen.

  19. 12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth

God is always there, even when we are feeling down and all alone. We must look to him and rejoice, because He will never leave us alone in our troubles, but waiting for us to believe in the Great things He is going to do for us!! To God be all the GLORY!!!!

  20. 15 Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.

16 The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

our God is the creator of the heavens and the earth, He is the Almighty and He will reign forever, woe to those who blaspheme him because he is God. have mercy on those who dont know better :/

  21. 17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

I remember a sermon that was titled “The Blessings of Boarders.” If there were not boards what would we know as going to far? How fast to drive, what is my land or my neighbors, how much can I spend,….ect. When God allows the boarders to be in place it is not only to keep something in, but to keep things out. There have been many times when someone that doesn’t know about a situation that has said to me,” your Pastor is too strickted.” I tood them that he had put boundaries there from the past experences that he had to face, and that I was very greatful for his wisdom and leadership. The same can be said for my parents. Their past experences have kept me from many sins that only the world could have offered. So said all that to say THANK YOU JESUS FOR THE BOUNDARIES in my life, becaus ewithout them I don’t know where I would be today.

  22. Choose Fire NOW!

3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

7 They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.

    Leviticus 10:1-3
1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. 2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. 3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

    Deuteronomy 4:23-24
23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee. 24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Fire answers fire, and strange fire will be met with a destructive fire. How do we fight strange fire? With fire! When we are consumed by God’s fire at our personal altar, we can bring a holy fire into the sanctuary that invites the creative fire (glory and working hand) of God.

We can influence others with right fire but ultimately it is grounded in each of us individually maintaining the personal consecration to God. Even Moses had a Korah. Even Jesus had a Judas. Their right leadership did not fail, rather it was in the wrong *choice* made by one following. We cannot force someone to get the right fire; it’s all choice, and it starts with us. With a right fire, our prayers can come as the burning of incense before God in intercession for others, which can help turn the tide in fighting strange fire. Without right fire, we’re just dragging others down further in our attempts to save them from the very trap we ourselves are caught in. But again, even with right fire, we are not God to save or consume, but we are called to be His body to show Him to the world and be used to give them every opportunity to get the Holy Ghost fire ignited in their lives as well.

Ultimately it’s between God and each of us individually; we must choose if we will burn with Holy Ghost fire NOW so we can be surrendered to His purpose of purity in relationship with humanity!

  23. ILove to eat the book

Verse after verse in this chapter is speaking about how the enemy is trying to destroy the sanctuary of God.

3 even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

WELL, IN THE NEW TESTIMENT WE ARE THE SANCTUARY. “Know YE not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost”

And you wondered why some people don’t like you. The whole purpose of the enemy is to try and tear you down… You have the Lords name, so in turn it brings the name of The Lord down.

But I have news for the enemy… The gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.

RISE UP LORD AND SMITE LEVITHIAN!

  24. Asaph begs God to rember his people in a time of disaster. He urges God to hurry and resoter the honor of his nameand to keep his covenant promises to aid his oppressed people

  25. for those of you who know what is happening in my family, knows that the devil tried to attack a member of my family, as i began to drive home, i began to pray and cry out to God and i reminded him of his promise and suddenly i felt piece. God is awsome and mighty. He is my strength forever

  26. Everyone who tries to go against God will fail. Our God is all powerful and there is none like him. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

  27. I can’t imagine God forgetting his people, even though he is being reminded that we need him Now spite of the enemies action to destroy him.

God may be angry at the wicked enemies for all the destruction they have caused. But I know he loves everyone, he has the power to heal, proctect and destroy whatever stands in the way of righteousness. Lord pour the blessing you have in store for those who need you. I trust and believe the promises you made to us. Lord rain on me NOW!

  28. 2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. -Psalms 22:6
But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts. -Psalms 22:9

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. -Isaiah 41:13
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. -Isaiah 41:14

I am redeemed! I have a future and a destiny!

  29. 21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

God forgive those who turn away from your word, put a hunger in their heart to come closer to your love…

  30. He will remember his covenant, and we do hear them blaspheming his name daily. But, we must try to introduce them to Jesus.

    “Now”…..

  31. Asaph

After the Ark of the Covenant comes to rest at the house of the Lord, King David appoints several Levites to be music ministry leaders. Asaph is one of these men assigned to use his musical gifts to worship the Lord (1Ch 6:31-32,39). Many years later King Hezekiah orders the Levites to praise the Lord with songs written by Asaph and David (2C29:30). In this verse Asaph is also reffered to as a “seer” or one whom God gives prophetic messages (1Sa 9:9). Asaph is credited with a dozen psalms (Ps 50;73-83), although some of these psalms were composed later and evidently refer to descendants of Asaph who wrote under his name. This tells me that their is a heritage of psalm making outside of the David’s line, but within range of his given authority. This tells me that praise and worship is important to God for His children, their are leaders of music ministry like Asaph today. God intended it to be passed on, God gave authority to David, David knew he couldn’t run it on his own and be king. He didnt over burden himself, he understood God had a purpose for him outside of worship. When we have a passion for something it shows, and David saw fit to pass authority as God guided him. God wants everyone to worhip Him. In turn God blessed this lineage with generations of more psalmers. When we are obedient and passionate about our call of duty then He too will bless us for generations to come.

  32. 16 The day is thine , the night also is thine : thou hast prepared the light and the sun . 17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth : thou hast made summer and winter .
