Psalm 84

1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!

My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

  1. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Last night time stood still. If it wasn’t for schedules I will still be at church Praising My God. I love to be in His presence. There is no other that can fill my heart and spirit the way He does. We know He is with us always, but are we always with Him? or are the cares of this world overwhelming us to the point that we lose our place in His court? But when the Praises of man reaches the presence of God!!!! EVERYTHING changes. I feel a little lighter, jump a little higher, and walk with a skip of Joy!!!!! For I STOP BEARING!!!!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!

  2. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Our God is not a dead beat dad! No good thing will he withhold. We know our God is good and the plans he has for us is good, no matter our current situation. All things work together for the good to those that love the Lord! Basking in his goodness this morning!

  3. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

    Matthew 7:9-11 (KJV)
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
[10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
[11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

    It’s a done deal!!

  4. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

122 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Last night time stood still. If it wasn’t for schedules I will still be there Praising and Thanking God. For we know He will never leaves us nor forsakes us, but do we leave Him? Do we allow the cares of this world to bear us down? But when the Praises of man reaches the Presence of God!!!!! I love to be in His Presence, no one nor nothing fills my heart and soul like He does. I left with Joy, I left walking a lot lighter, and skipping with gladness; because I STOP BEARING!!!

“I am not a deadbeat Dad”

What a powerful service last night!

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

God will not withhold NO GOOD THING from them that walk up rightly!

That is an amazing confirmation that our God is not a deadbeat Dad!

    New Living Translation (©2007)
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

  6. 12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Part of us making way for the miraculous is that we will have to lay down these things we are carrying around, and NOT pick them back up, but rather that we trust Jesus. We trust Him with things that we feel that we can step in and do, but we need to trust Him with the things that can and cannot control. Whatever the outcome we have the promise that all things work for the food to those in Jesus…

  7. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord : my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. (Psalms 84:1, 2, 4, 5, 10-12 KJV)

  8. Psalms 84:5-6
    Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee;
in whose heart are the ways of them.
    Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well;
the rain also filleth the pools.

h1056. בכא baka’; from 1058, weeping; Baca, a valley in Palestine:— Baca.
    AV (1)- Baca 1; Baca =”weeping”
    a valley in Palestine

The saying goes “when life hands you lemons make lemonade” When troubles come add sweetness to your circumstance. Don’t allow the bad times to bring you down.

I remember recently we heard a message about “there is a miracle in this!”

Instead of drowning in sorrows the make the valley of Baca – weeping, a well. A place of nourishment, and revitalization.

The test is seen as a testimony. When we praise him in the storm our trial becomes the well we can draw from!

    Isaiah 43:2-3
    When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I give Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and Seba in exchange for you.

Jesus saw the storm and walked on the waves. It’s about perspective!

  9. I’ve got spirit yes I do, I’ve got spirit how bout you?

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. 6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

Blessed is someone who is in your house, leans on your strength, and just keeps digging. With march Maddness already here we need to be in your hose digging wells for your sake. He will not withhold any good thing from us because our commitment to him and his commitment to us. 100 souls with the Holy Ghoat here we come!!!!

  10. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee

God is what i need and He will not withhold himself from me. So the ball is not in His court its in mine to continue to walk upright even when its hard to just stand.

  11. When we have our trust in the Lord, we are protected and strengthened. Assembling together helps build our faith and trust in him. Do not forsake the assembling of the saints.

  12. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
HALELUJAH !!! No GOOD thing will be withhold from them that walk uprightly……
It so easy to get upset when things don’t go our way …. But are we supposed to want our way or HIS ??? HIS ways are always going to be better than our ways !!! If we are still wanting to do things our way ……. Then maybe just maybe Psalm 37:4 would be suggested ??? To DELIGHT IN THE LORD
    PSA 37:4
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

It is best to DELIGHT in the LORD before I ask anything from HIM . Why? Because if I DELIGHT in HIM then the desire of my heart would change from being selfish to being the desire that GOD wants for me annnnd I can be sure that it is GOD’S will, especially when the desire changes from the desire I had beforehand . HALELUJAH !!! Thank You JESUS!!! I LOVE YOU JESUS!!! HALELUJAH !!!

  13. lastnight was a celebration in Heaven and earth.
I watched a man in a wheel chair be baptized in Jesus’ Name and it reminded me and I felt like I was there in the Bible days when Jesus told the crippled man to get up and walk in the pool (I cant remember the name of the pool) and you will be healed, and when He healed the blind man He(Jesus), put clay in the man’s eyes and told him to wash his eyes in the pool then The man was healed then he washed his eyes and could see.
    PRAISE GOD!!
WATER BAPTIZIM in Jesus’ Name is in the Name and the blood of Jesus.
    Wow
WHAT A WONDERFUL LOVE IN JESUS’ NAME I’ve seen.
    Jesus is a pastor
Jesus is the baptizer (in the Holy Ghost).
    Jesus is a healer
    Jesus Lives Still
    Jesus forgives
    thank you my friend, Jesus.

  14. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

If we have this attitude am know that we win, we should be happy all the time. We are redeemed of The Lord and he allows us to dwell with him in high places like last night. Our faith was high last night, we came in expecting God to do awesome things, and he did. One day with God can fix everything that a thousand years have made wrong.

  15. tbank God, i serve a awesome God, and not a dead beat. God knows what we need/ desire before we speak it. we must first realize that he loves us so much, that he hears our every cry. 2nd God is our Farther(he gives us our every nd) and not just our daddy( come and go with no emotion).

  16. 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
    Thank you Jesus!
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
    AMEN!!!!!

  17. Praise: to glorify: to elevate

Praiseing in the battle brings victory,

    Exodus 15:2
The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him!(NLT)

praiseing when your down brings joy,

What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises. Interlude (Psalms 84:4 NLT)

praiseing when your sick brings healing.

    Isaiah 38:20
Think of it—the Lord is ready to heal me! I will sing his praises with instruments every day of my life in the Temple of the Lord.(NLT)

    The Lord is Ready!
    Why wouldn’t you praise?!

    We are a praiseing church!
    Get ready.
    This is just the beginning.
    Now Praise.

  18. NO PLACE I’D RATHER BE

4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

It is possible to become numb and unappreciative of the presence of the LORD. We are so BLESSED to have opportunity to experience the favor and power of GOD that we have been privileged to witness.

Here we find some keys to the door of blessing. BLESSED are they that dwell in the HOUSE of the LORD. As a result of the grace and peace of GOD that is in HIS house, as dwellers or residents there we find ourselves surrounded and covered by HIS BLESSINGS and therefore has perpetual reason to PRAISE the LORD. Those that dwell in HIS house in purity and sincerity will find themselves “STILL PRAISING GOD”.

ONE day in the court or presence (separated place) of the LORD is better than 1000 days anywhere else! This is how I feel. There is NO PLACE I’D RATHER BE

When I am sick, hurt, frustrated, discouraged, wounded, healthy, prosperous, dazed, confused, tired, energetic, happy, or busy.

I cannot find 1 REASON to miss an opportunity to WORSHIP GOD!

But, I have not really looked for one in over 24 years. The only time I can recall looking for a reason to miss, I found one.

I choose rather to search for a reason to be in the HOUSE of the LORD not a reason to not be there. (Monday Morning Message for someone)

1 day in the life changing courts of GOD are better than 1000 in a mansion, hospital, jail, job, with friends, family or even at the place I sleep.

***March Madness moto: I WILL NOT MISS ANY CHURCH SERVICE – BECAUSE I WILL MISS SOMETHING GREAT THAT GOD IS DOING!

4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

GOD will BLESS our FAITH with HIS FAITH.

Hope, Healing, Salvation, Direction, Wisdom, Counsel, Grace, Peace, and any other need or want are available in HIS HOUSE. Get to HIS house.

  19. Psalm 84:11-12 No Prisoner Of Fear
For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walj uprightly.O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Once I put my trust in You,Father, Iam free to live in peace, no longer a prisoner of fear. Your sun warms my heart, urging me to go forth in victory and bask in the blessings that fill my life. You withhold nothing good from me, Your beloved daughter. Where I once trusted in governments , money, even the love and protection of others–I was often disappointed for they are only human and have their own concerns to put first over mine. But Your love and care never fail me, and I am truly blessed.

  20. 0 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly

Thank you Lord for such a mighty outpouring in the house of God last night!
I want to be a praiser in the house of God ,He has done so much for me.I am expecting GREAT things,to begin happening and are already happening in the house of God and for His people.

Lord help me to be a willing vessel to be used wherever I am needed to help in this Great move of God !!

  21. All of my trust is in The Lord!

I am so grateful for the strength of God’s word, In his word I find strength.

Verse 11 speaks to my spirit The Lord is my shield always protecting me.

The Lord gives grace and glory .

I thank him for his grace and it is my desire that his glory shines forth through me consistently!

The Lord doesn’t hold back any good thing from me ; however, I play a part in the manifestation of this scripture in my life I must walk uprightly.

    Thank you Jesus!

  22. Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; the early rain also fills [the pools] with blessings. They go from strength to strength [increasing in victorious power]; each of them appears before God in Zion. (Psalm 84:6, 7 AMP)

No matter what the weapon is
I want you to know we win!!

What the enemy meant for your harm God will turn it around

You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. (Genesis 50:20 NLT)

    No Weapon Fred Hammond
Oh I won’t be afraid of the arrows by day
From the hand of my enemy
I can stand my ground with the Lord on my side
For the snares they have set will not succeed, hey

No weapon formed against me shall prosper, it won’t work
No weapon formed against me shall prosper, it won’t work

  23. 3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee.

These little birds, by the instinct and direction of nature, provide habitations for themselves in houses, as other birds do in the woods, both for their own repose and in which to lay their young; We would be wise to take wisdom from the sparrow and build our nest in the sanctuary, and raise our families to not only know how to run to the altar in time of need, but to live their lives on the altar of sacrifice, giving of themselves continually to the Lord, and to know how to live on the altar of praise! Praising their way in and out of situation. Every situation may not be conducive to praise, but we can turn those situations around by praise, and teaching by example our families how to dwell in the house of the Lord and to have a desire for the house and the things of the Lord is the most important lessons we have been given to teach.

  24. This chapter illustrates true. One that is truly thankful for all God hath done will willingly praise and do whatever the task maybe. Whereas one that is not, will only do that which one believes will exalt oneself; “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  25. 9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

Hallelujah!! I’m greatful that my trust is in the most loving most faithful God! Let’s all be greatful that were spending our time in church and not on the streets. Sometimes we forget how blessed we really are, we’re
blessed that he has kept us! We’re blessed that we have found that we can trust Him! We’re blessed to be in a church like POFW. We’re blessed that he is our shield!! Hallelujah its good to know I can always count on Jesus

  26. Vs. 1-2, “How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts !” My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out of the living God.

Vs. 10, “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

When I was coming to Sunday School yesterday, I heard this beautiful song on the radio. I had only heard it a couple of other times. When I read this chapter this morning, this song came to my mind.

How lovely is your dwelling place
    O Lord Almighty,
For my soul doth long and even faint for you
Oh, here my heart is satisfied within your presence
I see beneath the shadow of your wings

Better is one day in your courts
Better is one day in your house
Better is one day in your courts
    Than a thousand elsewheres

One thing I ask and I would seek
    To see your beauty
To find you in the place your glory dwells

Better is one day in your courts
Better is one day in your house
Better is one day in your courts
    Than a thousand elsewheres

My heart and flesh cryout for you , the Living God
Your Spirit’s water to my soul
    I tasted, and I’ve seen
    Come once again to me
I will draw near to you

Better is one day in your courts
Better is one day in your hourse
Better is ond day in your courts
    Than a thousand elsewheres.

  27. 4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

This chapter illustrates pure praise and worship from a true and hungry heart for God. We are so blessed to be able to come come together to worship the One who loves us. In His presence things change. We are blessed that, so far, we can walk or go anywhere and pray without the worry that we might get thrown in jail and killed for it. Today I praise for the land that I’m living on that allows me the freedom to praise my God Jesus. Thank Lord for All the blessings. And for the one that I unconsciously take for granted remind me of my blessed nature, open my eyes to the little things, and things that we sometimes don’t consider as being able to own a bible to read Your Word. Thank you Jesus for the great things you have done for me, for mercy, grace, and Your blood, and thy salvation. Thank you for all my members of my body are there and I am healthy. I may continue, but I may never end. There are so many things to be thankful for. There are do many things why to praise!!!
I would rather be one day in Your courts Lord!!

  28. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

God is a sun, the greatest light. The moon and stars may shine in our darkness but only the sun can completely dispell all darkness in our lives. God is a shield, our defense in our battles. He protects us as the war rages on.

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

  29. Wow, NOW this is how to Praise God, or Worship him, to wash his feet with praise and thanksgiving. No, wonder I’m in Hospitality Ministry, better to be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, rather to be in the tents of wickedness. The wicked don’t even have a home, they have a little tent. They are homeless, so help God by inviting new members, invite them home with Jesus Christ. Lord pull on the protocols and the lost, Lord of the Harvest send workers for your harvest of souls, I pray in Jesus name, Amen, and Amen. Annoit, Appoint, Direct, Guide, Bless, and Fill, your Children Oh Lord with a Bold Spirit and Confidence, I pray Father, in Jesus name, Amen, and Amen.

He will give grace & glory, and he will not withhold any good thing. If, you walk uprightly and if we have better promises with the New Covenant, well that’s about as upright as any man can be with God, “His Blood”, washes cleaner than sacrifices by other Lambs. Thank you Jesus Christ, oh so much more, you have given us. Praise you Lord Jesus, for all you have done and yet to do. I am believing in faith, our Church is going to increase not only in souls, but miracles, signs and wonders, and financial increase for all, and a flood of favor, with a flood of healings, in Jesus Holy Name.

God is going to increase our boundaries, so we can extend his with new souls in his Kingdom, In Jesus Name, Amen & Amen, and his hand keep us from every evil, and cause no harm to his temple. “We are his Temple”, “We are the Elect”…………….”Keep the Faith”……………….

    “NOW”…………………………………………………………

  30. 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

I want to have such a strong relationship with Him….JESUS I LOVE YOU

  31. 4 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; they will be singing Your praises all the day long. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

5 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather be a doorkeeper and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness. (AMP)

  32. The psalm expresses the yearnings and the prayers of a pilgrim approaching the Jersalem temple. each has a place here longing pilgrimage and prayer

  33. Lord God All-Powerful you bless those that seek you. I want nothing more than to serve you and praise you with all of my heart and soul.

Lord you bless all who depend on you and deeply desire to visit your temple. You strengthen those who cry out to you for help. God almighty it’s me desire to be in your temple than anywhere else.

I bless your Holy name Lord.

  34. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

God is our sun and sheild in him we find both warmth and protection. When we encounter trouble he is our sheild. God is the one who preseves our going out and coming in. In due time God will give grace and glory!

  35. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.

Since my childhood, it has been said that when you are faithful in the small things, God will make you bless you in the big. A day in the courts of God. I dont think alot of people really understand this. When you go to court more than likely you are there because you have done something wrong. 1 day in God’s court is better that 1000 days. To be a greeter at the church is better than to just hangout at the evil mans tent. Job shuned the very apperence of evil. What would happen in my own walk, if I would cringe at the thought of evil? The Bible states in vs. 11b no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. So does this mean that it just might be that we may not be where God wants us to be, therefore we are not seeing the signs and wonders that we want to see. I do believe that we are starting to those things which have been spoken, yet we are also going deeper in our walk with God through the leadership of Pastor Watts. I thank God every day for this Man of God in my life. For always pushing me to go that much more deeper in my relationship with God. Thank you Pasor for your words of wisdom and knowledge.

  36. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness

How many times have we heard my worst day in christ is better than my best day in the world. All our jobs are needed at POFW from parking lot to attendance takers to ushers.

  37. Each verse speaks of the blessings of God’s house, but vs 10 says it all to me: A day in your court is better than a thousand. Nothing on earth is better.

  38. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
I love this verse everytime I read it it reminds me of the song “Better is one day in your courts” Truly being in the house of God is the best place anybody could be. As Tiffany Linton said Friday night ” My worst day in the church is better than my best day in the world!!”

  39. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.

I will enter his courts with thanksgiving!

Jesus thank you for your grace and mercy! I put my trust in thee.

  40. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I’d rather be a door Kepler(bus driver) in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

For the Lord is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk upwright. Thank you Jesus for not being a dead beat dad. And I thank you in advance for the bigger home you are going to provide to POFW!!!!

Thank you Jesus for your grace and glory!

  41. Say YES

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

When we are in line with God’s will and something good has not yet arrived, we must resist the assessment that it is past-due. It is still due season, God is not late. If good is withheld, it is because we are not living upright and *we* are withholding it from ourselves. But if we are living upright, it is right on time.

We are quick to judge a season of waiting as a season of tardiness (“well I’m ready, but God isn’t…”) but we must shift our thinking. Could it be we have not received [fill in the blank] because God is not done handing out other blessings we aren’t aware of? Could it be we’re waiting because God is unfolding the blessing in stages but it won’t be apparent until the very end? Could it be God is preparing us still for the blessing and we have to complete the process before we are able to receive it?

We must also consider “the check is in the mail.” It’s due season so the “check” was sent, but it’s simply still in transit.

    Daniel 10:11-14
11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. 14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

The angel told Daniel “stand upright! your prayers are heard! I am come NOW!” I believe the wording is not coincidence. The message seems timely: “Stand upright! It’s due season! Don’t stop doing good, don’t stop serving, praying, giving, reaching, seeking… NOW is the time come!”

Is getting the blessing worth three “extra” weeks of faithfulness? Is it worth seeing everyone else receiving their blessing before your promise shows up? Is it worth sacrificing in a way that seems above and beyond? Is it worth feeling for a season like your prayers “weren’t heard”? Is it worth not understanding and not being able to figure out “what’s wrong” that would keep the blessing from being released? Is it worth some spiritual warfare? Is it worth speaking in faith to the storm? Is it worth speaking in faith to yourself? Is it worth a “hallelujah!” when it just seems to go on being no better than before?

We must make up in our minds… YES!

    Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

I’ll say YES to my Lord! If He said it, it’s done! And my faith responds with coming into agreement with His promise so that my life proclaims YES LORD! I agree, no matter how it looks!

    NOW is due season
NOW is time to say YES LORD!

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

  42. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

God will show us his glory if we follow his word. He is a shield in the time of trouble and a sun in the time of our storm. If we can just trust God, we will come out victorious.

  43. Verses 3-4 MSG read:
“Birds find nooks and crannies in your house,
sparrows and swallows make nests there.
They lay their eggs and raise their young,
singing their songs in the place where we worship.
    God-of-the-Angel-Armies! King! God!
How blessed they are to live and sing there!”

This reminded me of two little birds that have made one of the corner gutters of our home, their home. Every year my girls look to see if they will return and they do. This tells me this is their safe place, their comfort and their home. We too should find the church as our safe place, our comfort and our home; for there is no other place I’d rather be.

  44. The writer of this psalm is probably a Levite who once enjoyed serving in some ministry function at the temple. Like a bird that longs to return to its nest, he craves God’s presence (vs3). He’d be happy to return in even the lowliest position: as a humble servant. This reminds me of the prodical son from Luke 15: 18 “I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 19And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.” The psalmist knows where his place was intended, much like the prodical son, and if they could just get back to daddy’s house that they would be overjoyed. We hunger for forgivness whenever we make mistakes from God’s mercy and from others we’ve wronged. A important part of forgivness, which often times gets overlooked; is when we forget to forgive ourselves: begetting self-destruction. We see a genuine seeking of God’s presence, that the privelege of spending even one day where he feels at home would be better than living a thousand days with those who don’t love God. When we are truly part of God’s family, we don’t feel comfortable or fulfilled anywhere outside His presence. Because our citizenship is heaven (Php 3:20), our hearts are programmed, and were originally designed by our Maker for divine fellowship, we were designed to be His. It is only natural that we would yearn to be with Him when we are not in His presence, therefore we are blessed today to have the Holy Spirit of the Lord living within us, to fill us up, when we get homesick, or sick of this world.

  45. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

  46. 1 HOW amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts ! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord : my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. 3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God. 4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house : they will be still praising thee. Selah. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield : the Lord will give grace and glory : no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
