Psalm 94

1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.

They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.

  1. I feel that in this chapter it talks about evil doers and Gods mercy, I think that God gives us a choice we can choose to be evil and if so God will pour out judgement or like in verse 12 allow God to correct us and turn from our sin and let Gods mercy cover us.. I don’t even want to think of where I would be if it was not for his mercy!

  2. Psalm 94:16-19
Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If God had’nt been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said “Im slipping , Im falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.

The Lord is the only sure court of appeal.
Thank you Jesus for always being for me!

  3. Who is your Advocate?

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

To Advocate is to speak or write in favor of; support or urge by argument; recommend publicly.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Thank you Jesus for you will always STAND with us in the difficult moments.

  4. HALELUJAH!!!
22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
HALELUJAH!!! My GOD has never let me down!!! HE has won every battle!!! BECAUSE OF JESUS I HAVE THE VICTORY!!! HALELUJAH !!! Thank You JESUS!!! I love you DADDY!!! HALELUJAH !!! Te AMO REY PRECIOSO !! Gracias Padre!!! =D

  5. 1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

All too often we get ourselves in the way of God taking vengeance and He just backs off. If we were to quit fighting amongst ourselves, and allow God to be God, He would do so much better of a job. That would also allow us to be able to UNITE if we quit with the divisions amongst ourselves.. As the church and as one body, we should be working together to win souls and reach to help each other, not to tear down each other because of our frailties…

  6. Lord~ I will be faithful to You.
Lord~ I will always serve You always.
Lord~ I will always love Your people.
Lord~ I will always work for righteousness.
Lord~ I will make a new song to Your Holy Name.
Lord~ I will always repent and ask for forgiveness.
    Lord~ I will always give.
Lord~ I will always die in my flesh daily with You.
Lord~ I will always honor and respect the man or woman of God (Shepherd of my soul).
Lord – I will always give Gloryto Your name that dont know You and to others that hurt me.
and most of all I will Bless Your Holy Name

    ROMANS 6:22~
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and end everlasting life.

    GALATIONS 2:20~
Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

The Proud Think They Are Hidden

If we willfully sin, pride has blinded our eyes. If we think that we can sin and get away with it, we are full of pride. No matter how small the sin may be, we are full of pride. If we talk negatively about the pastor, we are full of pride…

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. (1 Samuel 2:3 KJV)

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. (Proverbs 8:13 KJV)

The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? (Obadiah 1:3 KJV)

  8. 16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

    Psalm 27:1 (KJV)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

  9. 22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

He is my defence my rock my healer my protector my refuge my all!! Who is Jesus to you?

  10. Vs. 16-19, “Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.”
Vs. 22, “For the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.”

MSG version 16-19, “Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If God hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.”
MSG version 22, “But God became my hideout, God was my high mountain retreat.”

God’s Word tells us that He will never leave us or forsake us. (Heb. 13:5) He is always there for His people. It’s His love, mercy, and grace that holds us and keeps us. Thank You JESUS that you are my hiding place and the rock of my refuge.

  11. God will help his people. He will have revenge on those that have done evil unto us. We are to but stay faithful and pray.

  12. Psalm 94:9,10,11 He that planted the ear,
Shall he not hear?he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10.He that chastiseth the hidden, shall not be correct?he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not be know?11 the LOrd knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

Our job is to love, forgive and pray….
He is a righteous GOD, revenge belongs to him….

This will be the end result, this is what will happen, this is what THE LORD will do!
94:18,19 whe I said my foot slippeth, thy mercy O LORD held me up.
19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

He has been there for me too( praise God!)

    NOR FORSAKE US!!!!

  13. This chapter illustrates surety. Although it may appear that one is not heard, one can rest assured that God (Jesus) heareth all. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  14. Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord , held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. (Psalms 94:17-19, 22 KJV)
I am greatful today, I am blessed today, I am alive today, I am healed today, I serve a mighty, merciful, loving, compassionate GOD today!!! He hears me when I call out HIS name… Otherwise I would have been dead in my sins along time ago. Those nasty thoughts had consumed my mind with death, but GOD (Hallelujah) had something else in mind for me. And that was and is to give me life, and life more abundantly!!

  15. 12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

God has a plan to help the righteous: His word will correct us, his mercy will hold us up & he himself is a rock solid refuge. I thank & praiu him for all his marvellous blessings.

  16. 9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? 10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? 11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. 12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

Another scripture says don’t compare yourself amoung yourself and that is where many people get in trouble. They see “evil doers” professing to being christians being “blessed” in their eyes, and they wonder when the Lord is going to take vengeance and intervene. He formed the eyes, He sees all, and knows all, and even knows the very intents of every heart, therefore, He will judge and intervene in His timing, maybe not until judgement day. We must keep our focus, allow Him to correct and teach us, that we be the vessels pleasing in His sight on a daily basis, rapture ready at all times in attitude and action. Blessed is the man who God chasenest!

  17. THE KEY TO UNITY

1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

Vengence belongs to GOD. We literally kick GOD off of the throne of our life when we take revenge or judgement into our own hands.

VENGEANCE – 5360. nqamah, nek-aw-maw´; feminine of 5359; avengement, whether the act of the passion:—+ avenge, revenge(-ing), vengeance.

When we attempt to get even with someone for a wrong they have committed toward us. We disqualify the MERCY of GOD in our life.

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Allowing GOD to execute HIS judgement in HIS time, in HIS way, through HIS process is a strong sign of my SPIRITUAL MATURITY. To have a get even or revenge attitude is selfish, childish and faithless. The reason it is so important to allow GOD to have his place is that someday we will need HIS Mercy and we will receive HIS Mercy at the same level we give it to others; regardless of what or who they did wrong.

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

The bible declares multiple times that vengeance belongs to GOD. If we attempt to judge those that have wronged us we “PLAY GOD”!

I do not know anyone who is qualified to “PLAY GOD”. There is none like HIM! There is no one beside HIM! HE ALONE is GOD! HE is King of Kings! HE is LORD of LORDS!

Allowing GOD to have the role of AVENGER in our lives displays our FAITH in HIM, which reveals our TRUST in HIM, which produces our PEACE in HIM. Then, satan is crushed!

The attack of opposition is to destroy UNITY in the Church (Kingdom). Resist the temptation to have the last word or always be right to prove a point or make a statement.

Defend and fight for your FAITH and UNITY in the KIngdom of GOD.

  18. 17 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

We are nothing without him. Whenever I begin to get a little bit complacent I remember how merciful he has been and the pit he pulled me out of.
I love Jesus. He has picked me up and set my feet on solid ground.

  19. Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. (Psalms 94:8-11 KJV)
God knows your thoughts. Why would we ever think that it is OK as long as we only think it. God knows what we hear and who we hear it from. He knows what we think and the intention of our heart that we think it from. He knows what your looking at and why you are looking. You might fool your fellow man with what you say, but you won’t fool God so stop trying to fool yourself. God already knows.

  20. Good Morning! (Thankful for vacation time)

11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

This passage caught me off guard. The word vanity means useless, worthless, meaningless, vain, and empty. In other words men are air heads.

UNLESS we have the mind of Christ, are kingdom centered, and think His thoughts!

The word “thoughts” here means designs, plans, schemes, and purposes. To sum it all up this is the will of man.

However we are to pray for the Will of God to be done. We can only do this by having the mind of Christ!

When we are all unified in his purpose, his plan, his mind, his passion there is nothing that will be impossible for us! Just like Pastor said last night!

    Romans 13:14
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

    Romans 15:5-6
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Who can instruct us in the mind of The Lord?
    Pastor!

Paul explains that the instructors, or preachers do!

    1 Corinthians 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Let’s not be airheads but be heavenly minded 🙂

  21. 18

When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up. Praise the Lord even if we slip the Lord is there and not only forgives but helps us back up

  22. 1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge

The Lord has my back and in him will I trust! He is unfailing , I can always count on God!

    12 Blessed I’d the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

If we can be corrected by God that keeps us from being evil or wrong. We all make mistakes but are we willing to learn from them are we willing to let God correct us where we are wrong. Through many of our trials he teaches us his way, through many of the tests we go through we learn patience, understanding ect..

  23. 22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

God will always be my Rock!!! I will always be on the winning side…Gods side!!!!

  24. 3 God, the wicked get away with murder – how long will you let this go on? 4 They brag and boast and crow about their crimes! 5 They walk all over your people, God, exploit and abuse your precious people. 6 They take out anyone who gets in their way; if they can’t use them, they kill them. MSG

Reading these verses I have to remind myself that it rains on the just and the unjust. That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. KJV Matthew 5:45

  25. V9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he thT formed the eye, shall he not see?

The wise writer of the Book of Proverbs declared the LORD as Creator of the seeing eye and the hearing ear Proverbs 20:12

HE made these faculties of the human body.
This should inspire our faith and pray bringing all of your needs to the LORD.
With that being said the psalmist also reminds us of the LORD’s judgements concerning all actions that HE observes.

  26. 12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

So many times we do not feel like we are blessed we the Lord chasens us because it can hurt our feelings and humble our pride, But He loves us and when we allow Him to correct us when we stumble or make mistakes we truly are blessed. I would rather be corrected and it hurt for a moment than left to my own ways and follow down a road of chaos and turmoil.

    I love you Jesus!

  27. 22 You, Lord God, are my fortress,
    that mighty rock
    where I am safe.
23 You will pay back my enemies,
and you will wipe them out
for the evil they did. CEV Version

The Lord knows the intentions of the Heart, he knows all. The choices that we make have consequences. Either bad or good pretenses only God will be the judge. Lets not be so quick at judging each other, but seek God and follow his commandments. Conviction will follow those whom he chooses and disciplines those that disobey. God delivers us from the enemy for his mercy endureth forever. I’d rather God discipline me from any carnal actions because I’m not perfect and I want to please God. I don’t want to miss out on my blessings just because I disobey. Lord wash me clean white as snow with your blood.

  28. God’s Justice

Justice is a major theme in the Psalms. The psalmists praise God for his just nature and trust him to intervene wherever the wicked oppress the righteous. As those who have been declared righteous by the Judge of the earth, we can confidently take our cases to hm and ask him to intervene on our behalf. God promises that those who don’t honor him or trust in his mercy alone will have their day in court-and it won’t be pretty (Ps 10:15-16). God does not stand idly by while his children are mistreated. Rather, he takes note to every crime against them and makes plans for how and when he will avenge them (Dt 32:43; Isa 35:4). We need not take vengence into our own hands because retribution belongs to God; he will execute justice perfectly “For we know the one who said, “I will take revenge. I will pay them back.” He also said, “The LORD will judge his own people.” (Heb 10:30)

  29. 9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

How much do we think that God doesn’t see what we do? When we think we are getting away with something God knows all things , as we see here. He sees and hears. He knows are very thoughts. He is God. We aerve the One ,True God.

  30. 17 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

These are two encouraging scriptures Had the Lord not been my help my soul would be in silence!! I am thankful for the help of God in my life I am thankful that when my foot slippeth God’s mercy has held me up and kept me and my family. Surely God is good to his people.

  31. In this scripture, you know that God chastens the one he loves, so you can depend on him to do so, he is faithful. We all have had our share of correction, and have been redirected.

12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out

Yet their is hope, for those he loves. He will never leave us nor forsake us. That’s his promise, to each of us. Just like in the next vs., we are his inheritance, and we came at an very expensive price. Yes, God thought we all were worth it. So, don’t beat yourself up too much over things. Keep the faith, and maintain a daily repentance, and turning from sin.

    14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.of thy law;

    “Now”………………………………………………………..

  32. Grace

17 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

God desires openness in relationship. So many human relationships revolve around wearing masks and hiding what you can to only present the best. But God calls us to more. He wants all of us, the good, bad, and ugly. He calls us to openness so we can have life not death.

His mercy preserves us as none are worthy of life, and He desires our meditation of Him to be sweet, not tormenting. He is the Comforter, our yoke-sharer that we might be empowered to do His will; He is not our condemner but convicter that we might return to Him when we slip.

    2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Strength comes when we let grace overtake us and saturate our lives. Weakness becomes opportunity for God’s glory. In prayer today I asked God for grace. I felt so acquainted with my shortcomings and I felt so unable to do and be all that was needed. I pictured my life like a sponge, so whole-y and incomplete, yet just the candidate for grace. If His grace would just saturate me, if His grace would overflow…

When a sponge is saturated, it becomes known for what it is saturated with; you touch it and the contents get on you, you apply it and the contents spread, you put pressure on it and the contents overflow. It stops being about the sponge and it becomes about what the sponge holds, the sponge is merely a vessel. I prayed, God saturate me with grace! I’m too much of a mess, I don’t have it all together, I’m not qualified, but Your grace is my answer!

I thank God for grace NOW!

    Hebrews 4:15-16
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  33. 12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

Correction is a good thing. While it is usually never liked it always brings growth and maturity. A good father corrects his children because he wants them to grow up to become persons with good values. That in the long run its for their benefit. The immediate discomfort of a chastisement makes us feel that it’s wrong and we don’t deserve it but we can see what the Father of all sees. His love goes beyond what we can comprehend. He knows that it will do us good even if we can’t see it at the moment. It is a blessing to be corrected. That only means we are really loved

  34. 12 Joyful are those you discipline, LORD, those you teach with your instructions. 13 You give them relief from troubled times until a pit is dug to capture the wicked. -(NLT)

12 How blessed the man you train, GOD, the woman you instruct in your Word, 13 Providing a circle of quiet within the clamor of evil, while a jail is being built for the wicked. -(MSG)

  35. Verses 18-19 CEV read “When I felt my feet slipping, you came with your love and kept me steady. And when I was burdened with worries, you comforted me and made me feel secure.”

Verse 22 CEV “You, Lord God, are my fortress, that mighty rock where I am safe.”
