Psalm 105

1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:

18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:

19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.

20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.

21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:

22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.

26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.

27 They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.

29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.

31 He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.

32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.

33 He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.

34 He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,

35 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.

36 He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.

40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Still, when God saw the trouble they were in and heard their cries for help, He remembered his Covenant with them, and, immense with love, took them by the hand. He poured out his mercy on them while their captors looked on, amazed. Save us, God, our God! Gather us back out of exile So we can give thanks to your holy name and join in the glory when you are praised! Blessed be God, Israel’s God! Bless now, bless always! Oh! Let everyone say Amen! Hallelujah! (Psalm 106:44-48 MSG)
    Thank you Lord for your mercy!!!
    As it is written in verse one…O give thanks unto the LORD; for HE IS GOOD, HIS MERCY ENDURETH FOREVER!!!

  2. 42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

    The Lord is a good father. he remembers the promises he makes to his children. We are the apple of his eye. We are never lonely, every morning we wake up we have a God that loves us.

  3. He is still the same!!!!

    The same God that delivered Israel will deliver you. God never changes He still the same miracle working God. He is good and His Mercy endureth for ever. Let’s go tell of His wonderful works, tell the world around you what He has done and is doing!!!!! Scream it from the mountain tops, tell it in the valley, no matter what your situation is, no matter who has slaved you… you are still His child and He will set you free, all you have to do is call upon His name and testify of His wonderful works.

  5. Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him. (Psalms 105:19 KJV)

    God’s word was spoken over his life, but Joseph had to be tries by that word before it came to pass.

    This tells me that the current tests, struggles, and pressings are based upon the word God has spoken over our life. However big it is will be how big our tests will be.

    We are proven by the word until the word comes to pass.

    WoW

    We can tell ourselves “this seems pretty hard. God must have something amazing planned for my future!”

    Hallelujah!

  6. Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore. (Psalms 105:4 KJV)
    Isn’t it beautiful how many people were seeking the face of God this weekend. 21 people sought God in the morning. 25 people sought God in the evening. Hallujaha, God is mighty and great!

  7. GOD IS GOOD

    45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.

    This psalm presents some historic reminders of the gooness of GOD. We also are recepients in many ways of the goodness of GOD. HIS grace and mercy have been estended to us today.

    We are reminded in this chapter of the many ways that GOD IS GOOD to his people. Provision, protection. prevention and production. GOD is GOOD because that is HIS nature and he loves us. We are naturally good to those we love.

    Consider this LOVE; How parents love their newborn baby. The infant has nothing to offer the parents at birth but HOPE. Infants cannot work and help support the family, listen to lifes problems or even return love and care. However from the second the child is conceived the parents LOVE the child. Our Father in Heaven loves us much deeper than this! He became one of us (flesh) to be crucified that we might have LIFE!

    LOVE is built on HOPE. GOD’s LOVE to and for us is so deep that HE desores a daily. personal relationship with us. GOD loves us and describes in HIS word how we could and should live to be pleasing to HIM. All in HOPE that we will understand the depth of HIS love and return that same level of LOVE and RESPECT to HIM.

    The Apostle Paul teaches us in Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

    The opportunities and challenges that GOD affords us are for the purpose of recognizing that GOD IS GOOD and for that reason alone we will repent of our proud selfish ways and follow after HIM and serve HIM. That we will observe, respect, honor, and obey HIS statutes, keep HIS laws and PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME JESUS!

  8. Verses 1-8 NLT:

    “Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.
    Let the whole world know what he has done.
    Sing to him; yes, sing his praises.
    Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
    Exult in his holy name;
    rejoice, you who worship the Lord.
    Search for the Lord and for his strength;
    continually seek him.
    Remember the wonders he has performed,
    his miracles, and the rulings he has given,
    you children of his servant Abraham,
    you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones.
    He is the Lord our God.
    His justice is seen throughout the land.
    He always stands by his covenant—
    the commitment he made to a thousand generations.”

    These verses say it all. Don’t stop POFW…..give thanks, sing, exult, search, remember and hold onto the commitment he made.

  9. “Seek his face evermore.” How often do we find ourselves seeking the Lord’s hand instead of his face? I have found myself in this exact situation before. However, when I realized what and where I was I changed the purpose of my prayer to seeking his face. Something then happened. Either my desire was changed or the Lord moved on my behalf as he knows the desire of our heart and the intent in our actions. Could it be if we find ourselves in a predicament if we check ourselves, we might find our intentions are not in line with His will?

  10. God is in control of every situation. All things work together for the good for those that love the Lord and obey his commandments.

  11. Psalm105:2,3,4.NIV
    Sing to him,sing praise to him;
    tell all of his wonderful acts.
    Glory in his holy name;
    Let the hearts of those who seek the
    LORD rejoice.
    ———
    By now it’s clear that we have understood that we ought to praise the LORD, we must!
    I don’t understand why wouldn’t we?
    I love you Abba! I will always praise you because I love you and because you are worthy and just because there is no other GOD who deserves it. Only you are the only true GOD.
    Blessed be the name of the LORD!

    105:15 “Do not touch my annointed ones;
    do my profets no harm.”
    I believe we have to respect everyone, but those who are profets, men of GOD deserve a special respect and honor…(evangelist, pastors,elderly man of God and more)
    Now also, any of us who have been baptized and received that precious gift of God( Holy Ghost) are also annointed people, —- we have the anointing!
    God if you can use anything🎶🎶
    You can use me🎶🎶🎶🎶…………..
    105:5 remember the wonders he has done,
    His miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.
    —-He sent…..
    —he turned…
    —he spoke…
    —he struck….
    —he brought…
    —he spread out…
    —he open the rock…
    —he brought…
    — he gave…
    All the wonders he did in the past…..
    We( ordinary people) ,just like them in the past,once again: God wants to continue to show his wonders, to show humanity all he can do, but he wants to do it through his children(us)if we just BELIEVE!
    — God, I believe ,help my unbelieve. Change my heart daily,help me to renew my mind daily…….
    In Jesus name, AMEN!

    • Thank you GOd for already miracles happening at POFW, but you want to show MORE, and you want to do it NOW!!!!ap

  12. 3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
    4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

    Let us all seek his face, let us all rejoice. When we are truly seeking the Lord’s face we know where our strength comes from, we know how to rejoice at all times in all situations. It’s easy to get distracted from seeking God’s face sometimes life gets in the way but we have to remember WE LIVE AND BREATH TO WORSHIP HIM!!!

  13. God chastened his people and returned and loved them afterward. This is an exams of how we should discipline our children.
    Get their attention with whatever you have to do, then you have to love them.

  14. ILove to eat the Word

    It’s Ok to Seek His Strength.

    The Lord was strong at Brewer High School!

    Lets seek His face and His Strength.

  15. God will take care of his people!!!! I have a praise report not sure if I should do it on here but I’m so EXCITED I can’t hold it in I have to give God the glory!!!! As many of you know I wasn’t at church Sunday but the reason I wasn’t there was because of not having gas because I failed to manage my finances properly this week well I knew I was getting a check Wednesday but told God I wanted to go to prayer Tuesday night and I felt like God said trust me I will provide,we’ll I got a phone call from all people Samuels step mom who by the way knew nothing and she said hey I’m out and felt to have you meet me at the gas station I want to feel your gas tank up!!! Well to some that may not be a big thing but I just had to lay the phone down and have a praise moment because even when we have failed God still hears us and meets our needs.. God is so good!!!!

  16. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

    2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

    Extra extra! Read all about it! See what God is doing at the Pentecostals of Fort Worth!

    The city will never know what happens behind closed doors if its not spoken about. We can’t keep the miracles and blessings of God contained within four walls, we have to get it out! Speak of His wonderous works! He did it back then and he is doing it now! Praise God!

  17. 26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.

    Many times I have caught that Moses was God’s servant, but I never looked deeper to see that Aaron was God’s chosen…Not only do I want to be chosn, but I also want to be a servant too…

  18. This chapter illustrates way. God has always made a way for those that call him Lord; “As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  19. The psalmist thanks God for his miraculous acts and traces Gods works by relating the history of his faithfulness to Israel. God has delivered his people and to be praised.

  20. God is a God that loves us all. He is our Heavenly Father and as so wants to bless his children. This chapter shows us just how much he loved the children of Israel. Now because of the cross we can have the greatest gift of all. The Holy Ghost!

  21. In vs. 41, He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

    “Born Again”…by water & spirit, in this verse depicts an image of Christ Jesus being pierced on the side by the spear, and blood and water gushed forth. “The Rock, being Christ”….and also remembering not touch his annioted nor doing harm to his profits.
    “Just an related observation”.

    “Now”………..

  22. 38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

    That’s great – the enemy was glad when they left them, and was afraid of them!
    Do I have such an impact on the enemy?

  23. 1 Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.
    2 Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
    3 Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD.
    4 Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.
    5 Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given, you children of his servant Abraham, you descendants of Jacob, his chosen ones. (NLT)

    Lets continue to tell others and praise God for all the great things He is doing!

  24. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

    2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

    3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

    4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

    43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

  25. 12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

    13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

    14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
    These scriptures talk about the provision of God and how he protected Isreal even when they were few in number and strangers in a strange land. These scriptures remind me that we are just pilgrams and strangers walking through this life but one day God is going to take us from this world to a heavenly kingdom to live forever more.

  26. v4 Seek the LORD, and his strength : seek his face evermore.

    GOD will always honor a sincere seeker and HE will reward those who diligently search after HIM. ( Hebrews 11:6 )
    For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to she’s himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. 2 Chronicles 16:9

    Praise the LORD ! HE will provide direction for anyone who seeks it. As we seek to know GOD and HIS will for our lives we will have a more abundant life that will positively influence others for HIS kingdom.
    According to 1 Timothy 4:16……. Says
    Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them : for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

  27. This chapter declares His deeds and talks of the wondrous things that He has done. The best way to compel someone is to be a light and testimony of the deeds and wondrous works that you have seen the Lord do.

  28. 14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

    15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

    God can clear the road when you’re walking in His will. We must not be afraid or lose focus because of anyone standing in opposition to what God is doing.

    3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

    4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

    Have peace and JOY by keeping your focus on Him. He can take care of it and us if we let Him…

    Philippians 4:4-8
    4 Rejoice in the Lord alway:and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

    1 Peter 5:6-11
    6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

  29. This psalm and others that recount Israel’s history (Ps78; 106; 136) were probably used as exhortations to God’s people, reminding them of God’s faithfulness over time, so they would be encouraged to stay faithful to Him. Perhaps nothing encourages our hearts more than recalling the events which we clearly see the power and love of God moving. In the NLT vs19 says “till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the LORD proved him true”, and these miraculous events can only come from being faithful to the Lord. During annual religious festivals, they sang songs celebrating God’s past works. The writer of Lamentations remarked on the power of positive memories when he says “Yet this I called to mind and therefore I have hope” (La 3:21). He is deeply discouraged by his current circumstances, so he choses to focus instead on God’s faithfulness in the past. His affirmations of God’s past goodness and his certain future rescue are some of the most beautiful words in Scripture:
    “22Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.
    23They are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness.
    24I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
    therefore I will wait for him.”
    25The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
    to the one who seeks him;
    26it is good to wait quietly
    for the salvation of the Lord.” (La 3:22-26 NIV)

    Both the psalmist and the author of Lamentations encourages us to get our mind off our cirumstances, and mire and get our minds set on Jesus and what He is going to do. Because He has done it once already and we know, because His Word says so, He will be faithful again, and again, forever. We simply have to change the way we percieve our situations in life. I might be going threw the muck, but Im going to stay positive and faithful, so that God can bless me, He’s done it already and He’ll do it again. Be encouraged saints of God.

  30. Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.

    We have one thing that will try us and our intentions and our motives, and our desires and will, that is the Words from the Book of books, the Words of the most Holy God Jesus. By the Words we shall know the truth of who we are. His word washes us. His words penetrates the heart and soul. His Eord is alive!!

  31. God always has my back, the opportunities that he gives me are many and I in return want to please him by honoring him and blessing his holy name.
    I love you Lord thank you for your blood that washes me. I praise and worship you with all of my heart and soul.
