Psalm 106

1 Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise?

Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the Lord.

17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.

18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

21 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord.

26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

28 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the Lord commanded them:

35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

40 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

47 Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. 2. Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise?

    John 21:25 (KJV)
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

    Psalm 150:2 (KJV)
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

  2. A Sink hole phenomena

17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.

People want proof that we are on the end times, read the papers there is a Sink hole phenomena happening every day. The earth is opening up a swallowing people everywhere.

The dangers of compromising with the enemy. In the military they call it fraternization. The enemy by all means of definition is that the enemy, so why will you not destroy it, why would you compromise your belief to tolerate and make them feel comfortable. When you begin to fear what they will think or if you will offend them, that is the beginning of your down spiral to hell. I prefer to be offended into heaven that flattered into hell. Tell the truth, speak His Truth, His Word, and NEVER compromise your believes, stay in His Covenant, for the price of treason is death “eternal death”.

34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the Lord commanded them:

35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.

  3. 13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

The tragic events that God’s people went through were in direct correlation to their lack of trust, and focus on God.

They let their minds wander and forgot where they came from. They started thinking of entitlement, and privelidge instead of grace, and mercy.

Just as King Saul forgot what God had done for him, and took the sacrifice into his own hands, his pride, and lack of faith caused him to fall.

To prevent such dire consequences the lyrics of an old song ring true.

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace”

  4. We should not forget the One who saved us and brought us out of our sin. we should continually praise Him for his abundant mercy and grace.

  5. Purity is essential. When we intermingle with things of this world even a little bit it is atrocious to God. We must be pure in our hearts and our motives. We must fully seek God and follow all of his commandments.

  6. How many times does God help us save us and we go the other way and anger him and his wrath Is on us we must cry out to God and do his will and go his ways

  7. Verses 1-3 NLT read “Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him enough? There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.” I will praise the Lord for noone knows like I know what the Lord has done for me. We are a blessed nation, a blessed church and the list goes on, so we should praise his name as the last verse states:

“Praise the Lord, the God of Israel,
who lives from everlasting to everlasting!
Let all the people say, “Amen!”

    Praise the Lord!”

  8. This chapter illustrates price. One reads the price of sin, yet there was still sin. One reads the price of disobeying the man of God, even though he stood in the gap for them; “Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach”. Although God is quick to forgive, one would be wise to heed the Word of God, before it is too late; “And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  9. I AM THANKFUL FOR A MAN OF GOD –
WHILE YOU MURMUR IN YOUR TENT THERE IS A PREACHER STANDING BETWEEN YOU AND DESTRUCTION

It is very evident in this chapter as we are reminded of tthe Favor of GOD toward Israel that we as creatures of our own will, can quickly and easily disregard all of the wonderful works of GOD and the salvation HE has brought to us.

Occasionally I wonder where would I be if Pastor Fielding and Pastor Foster had not stood for me to turn away the wrath of GOD while I murmured about the process.

Understanding that GOD chooses the wilderness process for each of us. Too often if we do not like the widerness that the LORD has chosen for us, we easily blame the preacher, the spiritual leader of our exodus from the bondage of this world.

The importance of hearing and heeding the WORD of GOD is underestimated in many cases. Our sinful human nature desires to complain about discomforts and inconveniences that we have no desire to fulfill. However murmuring around your dinner table or your liven room or bed room about the process that GOD has chosen for your deliverance is very dangerous not only to you, but also to your house.

Complaining about your church or your preacher will cause the hand of the LORD to be against you and overthrow you. This is why it is so important that we Praise the LORD fervently and BLESS the LORD at ALL TIMES!

***BE CAREFUL NOT TO MURMUR. YOUR PREACHER MAY NOT HEAR YOU BUT THE LORD YOUR GOD DOES HEAR EVERYTHING.

    The people made a calf at Mount Sinai[c];
they bowed before an image made of gold.
20 They traded their glorious God
    for a statue of a grass-eating bull.
21 They forgot God, their savior,

  11. It says they soon forgat his works! So many times we are like that today, when we need God we are right there worshipping but when life is good we get relaxed and things that used to convict us to the core are no longer a big deal..Lord I don’t want to get relaxed!! I never want to forget what I came out of!!!

  12. Always remember where and what God brought you out of. There may be things we don’t understand or agree with but keep praising God and move on. I’m thankful for a Pastor that teaches us and tells us like it is. Thankful for a God loving me when I’m unloveable.

  13. Psalm106:7 NIV.when our ancestors were in Egypt,they gave no thought to our miracles;
They did not remember your many kindness, and they rebelled by the sea,the Red Sea.
    ——————
(David is going back in history, he is meditating just like we are doing it
Right NOW)…comparing and searching his heart…..
    106:11,12 the waters covered their adversaries;
    Not one of them survived.
12 Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.(this is all backwards)
    ———-
I do not ever want to tempt God, I want to obey the very first time, I want to be able to believe and then see no matter what,( I am getting there, I am growing…) I want to submit to him and not rebel against him….
Psalm106:13but they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his plan to unfold.
    Wow!
How many times God has a great perfect plan to bring to past in our lives, but for some stupid choice that we take it doesn’t happen when it was ment.
I like to write notes a lot, and I try to keep record of things that I know that I know it was only because of the hand of the LORD.
His mercy and compassion tours us.
—-1 thank you GOD FOR EVERYTHING, thank you for mercy, thank you for the things that you for us in our daily life and we don’t recognize them …. Thank you for working in my life and creating in me a thankful heart.(work in pr0cess)

    To be continue…………

  14. 2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise?
3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Only those who keep themselves in His judgements and doeth righteousness at all times will be able to tell of the acts of God without having to speak a word. Their lives are a continual praise. In order for the church to be this example to the world around us, it will take discipline.
While anyone can acknowledge what God has done for them, only the righteous are able to do it in a manner that provokes others to excel to their best, and that’s with their lives.. Let us e the lift that shines His light. Let us be the horns that announce and proclaim His glory, and His marvelous works. Let us lift Him up and watch as He draws ALL men to Him…

  15. 13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

it is a sad day when we have forgotten what the Lord has done for us. when we think that we can handle things on our own its kindof like telling God that we don’t need him. when HE was the one that brought us out of our transgressions, when HE was the one that saved us from our enemies, when HE was the one that transformed us into new creatures. we can do nothing without him. we should never forget where he has brought us from, seeing who we used to be and who we are now is just proof of how good God is and how much he has done for us let us never forget, let us give God glory in all things we do!!!!

  16. HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!
23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

I thank You for SAVING ME and not destroying me. It was your chosen that stood in the gap and prayed for this soul (only because of your HOLY SPIRIT). I THANK YOU JESUS!!!
MARCH MADNESS!!! LETS STAND IN THE GAP JUST AS SOMEBODY STOOD IN THE GAP FOR US!!! HALELUJAH!!! TE AMO PADRE HERMOSO!!!

  17. v12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

Nothing can mute or dampen our true worship.
JESUS IS infinite without limits, endless, boundless in HIS authority.
HIS WORD is true powerful and reliable from the very beginning enlightening, guiding and wonderful.

The officers recognized the unique authority with which HE spoke
” NEVER man spake like this man” John 7:46

When GOD spoke from the heavens HE announced that JESUS was the CHRIST
    The Anointed One.
” This is my beloved SON, in whom I am well pleased” Matt.3:17

JESUS’ mighty words and works produced ample reason to believe in HIS deity.
    We can believe .
    iBelieve
    iPray
    iPraise
iSing whole heartily because HE IS
    Awesome
    Now

  18. “Yet” is such a small word..but what a huge difference it makes in our destiny. From the begining of God’s relationship with the people He created, we have rebelled against His will and run from His love. “Yet” he pursues us, preserves us, blesses us, and saves us! But Why? Because our destiny is wrapped up in His.

Revelation 19:1-8 gives an awesome picture of the glory in store for us and our God. Because He desires every human being to praise Him on that glorious day, he will stop at nothing to show us his mercy. “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, ‘yet’ for our sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich” (2Co 8-9).

  19. Standing in the Gap

A righteous person mediating for the unrighteous in God’s court is a familiar image in the OT and a powerful foreshadowing of the supreme Mediator to come. When God is poised to destroy his “stiff-necked” people after they fashion and worship a golden calf, Moses intercedes, praying for God’s favor, and God relents (Ex 32:9-14). On another occasion when His people disobey God actively looks for someone to stand in the gap on behalf of the nation; but when he finds no one righteous, the result is ruin (Eze 22:24-31). Because our God is holy and cannot tolerate sin, we need a perfect intercessor to mediate on our behalf so we will be spared the divine wrath our imperfection demands. Jesus Christ became that mediator (1Ti 2:5), offering his own life as a ransom to set us free from the consequences of our sin.

Heb 9:11But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, a he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. 12He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining b eternal redemption. 13The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, c so that we may serve the living God!15For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
    NIV

  20. 23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

One man stood in the gap to save Israel from Gods wrath. We can each choose to stand in the gap for others to save them. We are Gods children, He hears our prayers. We may never know the full impact of our prayers but they are never wasted. If one man can stand in the gap and save a people then surely the Pentecostals of Fort Worth can stand in the gap for this city!

  21. 1 Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.

  22. 2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise?

The answer to this question is very simple. That is everyone can, becasue without God we are nothing and the world would not be here.`

  23. Vs. 23, “Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.”

This scripture made me think of the prayer boards with over 250 names on them. These people turned away from God for whatever reason, and NOW, God has chosen us to stand in the gap for them and intercede for them. So that, he might have mercy on them and bring them back into the fold.

Pray NOW ! Because of the power of your prayers, God is working in someones life right now.

  24. ILove to eat the word

    Because of His Name

8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

Sometimes God does many things in people’s lives simply because they ask in Jesus Name.

But God is desiring something greater in our lives, He is desiring a true relationship.

Let us love God, keep His Word, and Feed His sheep.

  25. Its important for us to remember all the situations that the Lord has brought us through. That we don’t just him praise during the storm, but before and after. And not just immediately after, but forever. Because a blessing never becomes less of a blessing, it doesn’t devalue with time. Our focus should always remain on the Lord and bringing glory and honor to his name.

  26. thank you Lord for hearing my cry. i have allowed myself to be in situations that God has made away for me to get out and i found myself back in the same situations. today i thank God for opening my eyes and his mercy. He never left me, even though i walked away from Him, He loved me so much that He allowed me to make those mistakes, so that i could one day realize that His love is true and will never end

  27. 1 Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD,for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
2 Who can list the glorious miracles of the LORD? Who can ever praise him enough?
3 There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right. (NLT)

  28. Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

I recall amother account where a man chosen of God stood in the gap for the people that had gone astray — Abraham for Lot. I believe God is calling each of us to stand in the gap for those individuals who have forgot the blessings and benefits of the Lord, and gone their own way. We must intercede that they find grace and mercy and God would draw them by His spirit back to the relationship that He desires to have with them.

  29. We have to always keep our testimony close and remember what he has brought is through. Thank you Jesus for being faithful to me and not giving up on me when I was in the dark places of my life . You guided me out.

  30. The verses of this chapter really sums up in a nutshell the situation with Isreal and the trials and test that they went through. It shows how they constantly went into this cycle of back and forth in and out with God. And what they had to go through before God could get them to the promised land.

  31. Hunger

7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

There is a cycle of not understanding that can be quite destructive to us.

    Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

We must seek God not “accidentally” but purposefully and pursue knowing Him.

    Proverbs 23:23
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

    Psalms 47:7
For God is the King of all the earth:
    sing ye praises with understanding.

If we truly hunger after Him, He can be found:

    Jeremiah 29:11-14
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. 14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

Like Bishop says, you gotta have the want-to. So, do you want IT? Do you want Him? Will you be content with just scraps or are you hungry NOW?

  32. 47 Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

Many are those that turn away from the Lord. I believe this chapter call us to intercede for those that have gone astray. To become as mosses and put ourselves on breach for them. The only way to triumph is through praise. It is not by power or might but by the Spirit if the Lord that battles are won. We are commanded one thing; to praise. We have the victory in our praise the battles is the Lords. Let’s believe Him now, today. He will do great and mighty things

  33. They even killed their sons and daughters as sacrifices to demons. They killed innocent people, their own sons and daughters, as sacrifices to the idols of Canaan. So the land was made unholy by their blood. So the Lord became angry with his people and hated his own children. (Psalms 106:37, 38, 40 NCV)

I have meditated on this verse all day. What type of mind frame could a parent be in to sacrifice there children? I’m reminded of the verses that states sin brings forth death.

But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death. (James 1:14, 15 AMP)

We can’t be drawn away by our own (selfish) desires. We must all be with one accord in one place for the sake of building the kingdom. We have new babes to care for after this pasted weekend. And there’s more coming this weekend.

    • Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor. (1 Peter 5:2-4 NLT)

Looking forward to receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor!!
      👑we are royalty

  34. Opportunity after opportunities. God is so good to us, He disciplines us when we disobey. Hoping that we learn, Lord not only do I want to do your will but I want to touch other souls that they too will bless your holy name. Lord God. You sacrificed yourself for us, I give myself to you Lord, I want to sit next to you Lord. I sumit to your ways for the rest of my life. Thank you Lord for you and your mercy.

  35. Visit us Oh Lord…….

    4 Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

  36. 7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

The people refused to acknowledge God even after the miracles he did for them and they began to spiral down so far that they finally called out to God. I don’t want to suffer until things are in ruin! I choose to live for God NOW & be blessed.
