Psalm 107

1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end.

28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

36 And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

  1. ILove the Word

    God is Faithful

9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Sometimes I wonder why some people get so many chances to turn to The Lord and others appear as if they never really get a chance.

This scripture proclaims the truth in one aspect, God fills the hungry soul and God is faithful.

  2. O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord. (Psalms 107:1-3, 8, 15, 21, 31, 43 KJV)
No matter where you’ve come from, no matter what your name is, no matter what you’ve done in your past. We have a merciful GOD!!! As His word says that GOD is no respector of persons. To can expierence His Love, His mercy, His salvation for you TODAY! Oh that men would Praise The Lord for His goodness!!

  3. 9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

My God satisfies. He is good, therefore he filleth the hungry soul with goodness. God is enough in any situation.

  4. 25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

    Matthew 8:27 (KJV)
But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

    Do you know Him?

  5. 7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

    36 And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

In verse 7 habitation is word number H3427; a seat; figuratively a site; abstractly a session; by extension an abode (the place or the time); by implication population:—assembly, dwell in, dwelling (-place), wherein (that) dwelt (in), inhabited place, seat, sitting, situation, sojourning.

With this said I want to express how important it is that you all come this Saturday and march down town Ft. Worth for Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. When we finish marching I will like you to find a place and sit (implication of population and dwelling), claim it, intercede for it, for God has given you the CITY to abide in.

  6. Praise can prevent, or take you through the trial. Had they praised then God had not needed to discipline them. Once in the trial their praise helped them to stay focused and come out victorious.

31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

  7. 29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
He makes the storms of our lives and of this world calm. Not just the wind and the rain, but internal peace as well.

35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.
Blessed be God who can create a place of refuge in the wilderness. A place of restoration where there is no water or rest. A place where te Holy Spirit will saturate you when you are parched. Bless The Lord oh my soul and paradise his holy name!!

  8. 29 He maketh the storm a calm,so that the waves thereof are still
God knows everything! You may can fool man but you can’t fool God for he created us he knows everything thought we have,Lord I thank you for calming the storm!!!

  9. God loves his people and wants to help his people he wants us to call out to him to reach for him.
We have not because we ask not
    Ask God and sever him

  10. THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE DEEP

    23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

You may have heard the statement “they are as unstable as water”, this passage illustrates the perils and risks of those that will launch out into the deep. The deep seas of hope, faith and trust in the LORD.

We all like to operate in the security and safety of shelter on solid ground. However the uncertainty of the waves in the deep waters of the LORD. Whether on the open sea of the earth or the open sea of faith. One thing is for sure, “a storm”.

A storm will come and go, and at times we may feel as if there is no way we will survive the storm or come out of the trial and return to safe, solid, stable ground. It may disorient us and attempt to confuse and inebriate us, like a confused drunk.

This can only happen if we go into the deep to do on the great waters of FAITH, step out today, speak a word of FAITH, pray for a someone you know to receive a miracle, invite someone to church. It may get uncertain momentarily, but remember storms don’t last always, this too shall pass, and most importantly we know the master of the wind.

CRY unto the LORD! Ask HIM for HELP! Do not allow pride to rule your life.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

PRAISE HIM for the storms of life that HE has already brought you through.

Spending too long in a storm will disorient a person, being tossed around like a bean bag. Pray for strength. Speak PEACE to the storm in your life. Praise GOD for where he is taking you. Remember your destiny and know that there is a process to get there.

Ride out the storm with FAITH, HOPE, and LOVE.

  12. 6 REASONS TO PRAISE THE LORD JESUS

1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

  13. THE ONLY WAY TO SILENCE A PRAISER

42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

Iniquity (sin) is the only thing that can stop the mouth of the church!

We must REPENT of our sin!

Call on the name of the LORD!

    See the goodness of GOD!

    iPraise

  14. Verses 1-3 CEV read “Shout praises to the Lord! He is good to us, and his love never fails. Everyone the Lord has rescued from trouble should praise him, everyone he has brought from the east and the west, the north and the south.” That’s everybody….we were made to praise the King of Kings.

Sometimes we may think we can’t come out of the storm we are in, it’s to late or to much has happened; but, the beginning of verse 35 says “But the Lord can also turn….” and verse 40 “But the Lord will take revenge….”. If we cry out for help and repent, the Lord will not only rescue us but change the order of things in our lives.

Verse 42 CEV says “You will see this because you obey the Lord, but everyone who is wicked will be silenced.”

  15. This chapter illustrates perspective. One reads how God took care of those who cried out to him, praise God for eyes to see and a mind to comprehend; “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” One is allowed to read the Word of God and worship God in freedom, without fear; “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” One has breath to praise God and tell others of his goodness; “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  16. 6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses

When we cry out to God,He will come to help us ,in the time of our troubles!

21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Praise the Lord for His goodness to me!!
Thank you Lord for all the wonderful things you have done for my family, and all the great things you are going to do!!!

  17. 13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

God is so faithful!!!!!!! Even when we’re not doing right he loves us, when we repent he forgives. When we cry for help he Always comes through for us!! When we ask we receive. He is so good to us even when we don’t deserve it.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men.

Hallelujah to the Lord God Almighty!!! For he is great and greatly to be praised 🙂

  18. 8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

No matter what is going on around us, no matter what is going on with us, and no matter what we or anyone else says or feels like, we MUST praise Him! Only He is the soul satifier and the chain breaker.

His goodness and His wonderful works are 2 different things. His goodness is because He is holy. His wonderful works to the children of men are our provisions, safety, forgiveness, and anything else that is given to man, because man is black with sin, but God still does for us….

17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted…………

  21. But he rescues the poor from trouble and increases their families like flocks of sheep. The godly will see these things and be glad, while the wicked are struck silent. Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord. (Psalms 107:41-43 NLT)

I want to be part of the flock

  22. 42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

  23. 1 Shout praises to the LORD! He is good to us, and his love never fails.
2 Everyone the LORD has rescued from trouble should praise him,
3 everyone he has brought from the east and the west, the north and the south. (CEV)

  24. The psalmist calls the redeemed to praise God in a series of vivid images he contrasts the lost state with the release that redemption brings. Exercising his power over nature God will remark our barren earth and revitalize our barren lives

  25. Vs. 1-2, “O GIVE thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”

I GIVE thanks to you, O Lord, for you are good all the time, and all the time, you are good.

  26. Lord, send your word!

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

    “Now”………………………………

  27. 31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

Prsise him in your wilderness! Count your blessings even when troubles are upon you. Praise all the way out of the wilderness like we heard preached tonight and be thankful.

  28. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Give thanks for the good and the bad. Always have a praise on your lips and in your heart

  29. 13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

Im so thankful for the protection and provision of God in the life of me and my family. God is always faithful.

  30. 19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Cry unto the lord in your trouble. Dont depend on the skill of the doctors because they sometimes fail. You also can be healed by the word of the lord depending on the situation!! God is a great God there is always a solution to your problem!!

  31. 25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor! Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. (Psalms 107:28-31 NLT)

There is nothing quite like when God calms the sea!

30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Gladness is an earmark of God working not only in the situation but in us; faith lays the foundation for that peace and joy to build from and opens the door for God to start construction.

    Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Joy is powerful in our lives, we shouldn’t count it as optional or less than a priority. Joy waves like a banner of victory, and we hold it over our lives when we maintain that joy of the Lord at all times. And it all starts with crying out to God… No matter what, He is more than enough!

  32. 4 times in this chapter do we see the reference “and they cried unto the Lord and He heard and delivered them…..” Then it goes on to say “Oh that men would praise Him for His goodness for His wonderful works unto men.” Many times we cry out to God when we are in distress, then when He brings deliverance to us, we forget Him until the next distress comes our way. Stability and consistency is needed in every relationship. The good and the bad times, communication always.

43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

  33. 31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

This verse is repeated several times throughout this chapter. It’s like the psalmist saying come on get it into your head. Praise God for His good works to you and all the ppl. Praising gets our minds of our problem and off complaining. Praising makes you feel good it’s almost as when we start praising and continue then God starts smiling then shares that joy with us as a thank you. Thank you for believing, thank you for trusting. So many things the Lord has done for us, small and big thank you Lord for everything. You are wonderful and great! You, Jesus wear the victors crown!

  34. v31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

GOD’S love extends to every person.
HIS love is unchanging . HE freely gives it without condition or stipulation.
HE paid the price for every sin that had been or ever would be committed.

  35. While it is true that God loves a “cheerful giver” (2Co 9:7) and blesses the righteous (Ps 5:12), many storesin Scripture demonstrate that the righteous are not spared from trials. Consider Job, the “blameless and upright” (Job 1:1) servant of God who becomes Satan’s target and suffers as few ever will. The apostle Peter tells us not to be surprised at our suffering (1Pe 4:12). Jesus himself tells us that in this fallen world we will have trouble (Jn 16:33). But as Jesus overcomes the world and its suffering and sin, so believers in him will stand firm spiritually no matter what the circumstances. We may have many problems, but our deepest sense of well-being and spiritual security can never be threatened. Our emotions in response to suffering, may like Job’s, run the full 9; bout our abiding faith will glorify God and be remember by those who watch us overcome.

  36. God wants his people to honor him, serve him and trust him. He delivers us from evil and forgives us when we disobey. Lord you are there for me no matter the cause. You give me strength when I am weak, and courage when I am down. I need you always, forgive me if I have let you down, lead me to do your will. I praise you Lord for all your wonderful works.
