Psalm 110

1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

  2. The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head. 3. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

I like this because the Lord didn’t say worry about it, or be anxious, or go push through the battle, no He did not say that… He said come, sit on my right hand, just sit, lets relax, talk to me, let’s spend time together, and I will make sure I make that enemy your footstool. THANK YOU JESUS, he is under my feet, and we need to make sure he stays there under our feet.

Love waiting on the Lord for I know He ALWAYS has the VICTORY and He ALWAYS takes care of me.

  4. 1 The word of God to my Lord: “Sit alongside me here on my throne until I make your enemies a stool for your feet.” 2 You were forged a strong scepter by God of Zion; now rule, though surrounded by enemies! 3 Your people will freely join you, resplendent in holy armor on the great day of your conquest, Join you at the fresh break of day, join you with all the vigor of youth. 4 God gave his word and he won’t take it back: you’re the permanent priest, the Melchizedek priest. 5 The Lord stands true at your side, crushing kings in his terrible wrath, 6 Bringing judgment on the nations, handing out convictions wholesale, crushing opposition across the wide earth. 7 The King-Maker put his King on the throne; the True King rules with head held high!

Thank you Jesus for having my back. All those times when going thru a trail and I worry, get upset and whatever it didn’t accomplish anything. Thank you Jesus for loving me and being there with me thru my troubles.

“What an Awesome Scripture During Resurrection Weekend”

1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS SCRIPTURE TALKING ABOUT?

“My LORD said unto my Lord..”

Watch how Jesus breaks this scripture down.

As the Pharisees were regrouping, Jesus caught them off balance with his own test question: “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said, “David’s son.” Jesus replied, “Well, if the Christ is David’s son, how do you explain that David, under inspiration, named Christ his ‘Master’? God said to my Master, “Sit here at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.” “Now if David calls him ‘Master,’ how can he at the same time be his son?” That stumped them, literalists that they were. Unwilling to risk losing face again in one of these public verbal exchanges, they quit asking questions for good. (Matthew 22:41-46 MSG).

WHAT WAS JESUS SAYING TO THE PHARISEES???

He was saying that the Christ was David’s master but was also the son of David at the same time!

He was saying “I AM THAT I AM”.

    Jesus is God!

  6. 110:1 the Lord said unto my lord, set thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Rules over his enemies …see Matthew 22:44

God is going to deal with the mean kings.

4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

I am truely blessed to be allowed the oppertunity to reach for others. Had He not reached for me I would hate to try to guess where and what i would be right now.

His mercy really does endure forever. He has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light, and commanded us to go preach, teach, heal, cast out demons, and more. When we are filled with the Holy Ghost we are given the power to do this.

We have the authority to do all He sent us to do and more. Thank you Jesus. Thank you for seeing beyond where and who I was, to the man you had for me to be…

  8. 2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

God is my strength, and my Comforter.

  9. KING AND PRIEST – JESUS

1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Often this passage is engaged in conversation regard the trinitarian doctrine. However understanding the revelation of the deity of Our LORD JESUS. It is to us a confirmation of the undisputed, uninterrupted reign of The KING of Glory, King of Kings, Lord of Lords.

Consider the fact that David called him LORD before he was physically born to his own linage.

JESUS confirmed this fact numerous times in the scriptures.

The words of this psalm are addressed to the psalmist’s “LORD.” The expressions are those of a prophet who had received a revelation from God. The king was also a priest, a fact that looks beyond the order of Aaron, which was not a royal order. This is one reason the psalm has been classified as a prophetic psalm. Jesus quoted Psalm 110:1 in Mark 12:36 (cf. Matt. 22:44; Luke 20:42) to demonstrate that He the Messiah was to be David’s Lord, not merely David’s Descendant (Mark 12:35, 37). By Jesus’ use of the passage one also notes that David wrote Psalm 110, that it was inspired by the Holy Spirit, and that it refers to the Messiah. Psalm 110:1 is also quoted in Acts 2:34-35 and Hebrews 1:13.
That David’s Lord is the Messiah, is confirmed by our Lord himself and by the apostles Peter and Paul, as we have already seen.

Sit thou at my right hand. This implies the possession of the utmost confidence, power, and preeminence.

Until I make thine enemies. Jesus shall reign till all his enemies are subdued under him. Jesus Christ, as GOD, ever dwelt in the fullness of the Godhead; but it was as God-man that, after his resurrection, he was raised to the right hand of the Majesty on high, ever to appear in the presence of God for us.

This prophetic scripture gives greater understanding, not confusion to the Godhead.

1Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

JESUS himself confirmed his authority and deity.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

The psalmist David provides us insight into his prophetic understanding of the deity, royalty, and authority of our LORD JESUS. In the fact that JESUS reigned in authority and power before he was born and with HIS sacrificial death on the CROSS he positioned himself to RULE eternally. Until he makes all his enemies HIS footstool.

The CROSS gave HIM power over everything.

  12. 2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Our enemies can be all around us and we still rule!

    We will not be intimidated!

  13. 4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

I am thankful for a high priest who knows our infirmities, and stands in the gap for us. He offered his blood one time for the sins of all.

    Oh the blood of Jesus!

  14. vs 4 The Psalmist appears to be speaking prophetically of Jesus as He is spoken of in the NT as a priest after the order of Melchizedek.
Also a statement is made that God is not one that changes his mind (“will not repent”. The same yesterday, today and forever.

  15. We serve an Awesome GOD
” Who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Isaiah 9:6 says ” A child is born”
    700 yrs. later.

GOD SPEAKS as things that are not as though they were.

  16. The King

2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

    Psalms 23:4-5
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Our idea of prospering can seem like a realm of sunshine where no shadow touches, yet God can make us flourish even in the midst of our enemies.

    What is the key? Submission.

    Isaiah 53:2
For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Our Lord grew up as a tender plant, a root out of dry ground; the conditions didn’t seem right but God used them to show His might. When we come under submission to Him, that same sort of victory can be ours. We need to crown Him King of our life, and in giving Him authority by permission, we open the door to incredible blessing.

If He’s King, then He can take care of your problem, He’s big enough to defend you, He’s strong enough to turn a situation around, He has authority to command healing and blessing and deliverance. Why not crown Him King? Why not exalt Him? Why not confess, “God, You’re greater than anything I’m facing, You’re my Savior to the uttermost”?

He’s the King who knelt before those who crowned Him with thorns and washed the feet of humanity in pure love and humility, paying the price for our sin on the cross. Surrounded by those who certainly appeared as enemies–mocking Him, beating Him, crucifying Him–He triumphed wonderfully over death, hell, and the grave. The conditions seemed wrong, but God shone forth as the only wise King, the only living God, the Savior of the world. We have a choice, will we receive the King and enter into victory with Him?

NOW declare the King of glory, JESUS

  17. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

The right hand of God is known as the right hand of power. When we are in direct alignment with God, submitted to Him in obedience, we have the authority to operate in His power. The power that He will use to make our enemines a footstool, is the very same power we have access and authority to use to break every chain of addiction, intimidation and deception.

  18. This chapter illustrates might. God’s (Jesus) might shall; “He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries”. One would be wise to heed the Word of God, while one can; “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  19. Verse 1 message version
The word of God to my Lord: “Sit alongside me here on my throne until I make your enemies a stool for your feet.”

God wants us to have victory. He wants us to do well. He wants us to give him the glory when things go right. We need to do more of what God wants and less of what we want-Amen!

  20. Jesus is King in the midst of our enemies. He is what was, what is, and what is to come. There is no other like him. He is victorious over every situation. His nature is to win. He wears the victors crown. He was victorious before the beginning and has shown himself mighty in the years. He has also claimed the last victory and sits on the eternal throne. My God is awesome! He catches me when I fall and guides me on the road to victory. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I win because he has already won.

  21. What an honor, to be a priest for the Most High God. And God, places our enemies as our footstool. “Wow it’s time to get comfortable”……”Footstool Now”……..in Jesus name, Amen.

4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

  22. HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!
1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
    THANK YOU JESUS!!!
    THANK YOU FOR THE BLOOD!!!
TE ESTOY ETERNAMENTE AGRADECIDA!!! TE AMO PAPÀ!!! GRACIAS PADRE!!!

  23. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. Isaiah 43:10

This chapter just makes me think of the other scripture in Isaiah. The Lord Jesus is Lord of lords, King of kings… And He is the one who was, who is, and is to come. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

  24. In the Jewish culture of David’s time, only descendants of Aaron were designated as priests, and none of Israel’s kings were allowed to usurp priestly roles. 2Ch 26:16:21 Shows what happens to king Uzziah when he tries it! However, there was a king during Abraham’s time before the law of Moses -and the Aaronic priesthood (Levites) whom God installed as the “priest of God the Most High” (Gen 14:18; Heb 7:1-2). Melchizedek is the forerunner of the only other king-priest of all time, Jesus Christ himself (Zec 6:13; Heb 6:20). Christ’s priestly role is not dependent on his ancestors alone ..but on “the power of an indestructible life” (Heb 7:16). A beautiful description of the value of having the High Priest as our King and Savior is echoed..

Heb 7:17 “For it is witnessed of him, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”

Heb 8:13 “By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear”

  25. Verses 1-2 NKJV “The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!”
