You have been greatly blessed. We have a pastor with a burden for souls and in the same way has transferred that burden to us. Our church as young as it is have grown immensely, now we must care for this spiritual babes, watch them grow, and feed them the word. Our Pastor is a young, vibrant, passionate, and loving leader; his quiver is full of them. Everything we do as long as we do it in Jesus Name in His will it will be blessed. So don’t build in vane, build for Him, by Him, and for Him. May all your quivers be full. In Jesus Name I pray.

Many times we take things into our own hands and do without seeking His guidance first. This is vainity. When we rush head on into situations, sometimes we end up running in front of God, and we have to back up and that can be a bit hard to swallow…
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Once an arrow has left the bow, it’s too late to aim it – you no longer have any control over it; you must aim carefully before you release it. With children, once they are grown, you no longer have any control over how they will act or live. This is why it is so important to start in their early years teaching them how to live and act like God would have them to.

The Johnson’s quiver is full but we are blessed. This family knows where the enemy camp is. We are good at fighting. My children are being raised strong and full of prayer. I am blessed when I see them in the front praising and worshiping God. They are starting this journey right. I didn’t have the opportunity as a child to be in a church but they do. Thank you Jesus. We are raising mighty men and woman of God. In Jesus Name

If we do anything without the Lord, to glorify ourselfs it is worthless and pointless. I draw and if I draw for my own satisfaction and not as a sign of worship then there’s no point to it and no true beauty behind it. If we sing to show that we have a beautiful voice then were just wasting our breath. Everything we have, every gift and every blessing should be used to glorify God

Why should we try to make a name for ourselfs when we are nobody but vessels to be used? Why would we try to glorify ourselfs when God is the one who deserves all the glory?? God is great and should be glorified in all things we do even if we don’t want to.. If you face to serve years in prison! Do it with a smile, do it for Jesus!!!

Children are a gift from God. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
We as parents have to teach our children how to love and obey God. Children that grow up in a home without love and discipline are usually the ones that disobey authority. There comes a time when the children will leave home and as a parent you have to pray that you have instilled the truth into that child. If a child only hears you as a parent complaining the child is only to complain about everything. Our children are watching us how we handle things. When things go wrong are you keeping Jesus in the situation??
This chapter illustrates vainness. If God (Jesus) is not in it than all one’s labor is in vain; “Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it”. However if God be first; “yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

WHOSE HOUSE IS IT

The eternal challenge and friction in life are revealed in this verse. The Apostle Peter gives us insight into this principal in regards to our role in the building of the house.
1Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
In reality GOD is not going to reach through the heavens; pick up wood, steel, plaster or paint and build a house, church or even person. GOD builds a house by presenting opportunity to succeed along with resources to complete. However it is our/my choice if I build for me, my or I.
Me – so that others can see and identify what I am doing.
My – my way, my time, my plans.
I – accepting or taking full credit for a success.
JESUS is the Master Builder, the Chief Cornerstone, the Founder, the Owner and Shareholder.
It is obvious that there is need for LABOUR. It is a great misconception to think, feel or believe that GOD is going to take care of (do) everything. HE has appointed us STEWARDS over HIS HOUSE and KINGDOM, that means at any moment we can choose to deviate from HIS blueprints and plans and labor the way we desire to, when we desire, how we desire.
It would be a tough situation to work all week and not receive compensation or pay for the labor investied in building a house; however it will be a tragic situation to work our way through life and build a life and GOD is not in IT.
There are works that I must WORK, things that I must DO, places I must GO, people I must see, souls I must WIN and people I must DISCIPLE/TEACH.
WHOSE HOUSE IS IT that you are building today? Is JESUS in the middle of what you are doing? Is your service and labor for YOU or JESUS. If JESUS is not in it, it is vain.

Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones. (Psalms 127:1, 2 NLT)
My Trust is in YOU Lord. YOU and only YOU have kept me from harms way and provided for me. It was YOU who created the heavens and the earth. And it’ll be YOU who builds my future, orders my steps & makes a way for me. I will trust on YOU!!

Who is at the center and who is in control? Whether its for building yourself spiritually and building/constructing/working in your life letting God build, be in control, you are gatanteed to succeed, and finish off. Let’s let Him build that we may not end up disappointed, having worked for nothing, in vain. Taking things into our own hands messes them up. Let’s be faithful stewards and let God direct the labor of our lives. He will be the master architect. He is the author and finisher of our faith.
Let Him finish the work in you..

Building The House
Since we started reading Acts as part of “Eat The Word” on the blog, I decided to use one of the reading plans available through a Bible app I use. There didn’t seem to be a good one for just Acts so I chose a plan that goes through the Epistles, starting with a chapter in Romans and a chapter in Acts each day. Today marked day 16, the end of Romans, and I found a very curious thread that ran between Romans 16, Acts 16, and Psalm 127.
Acts 16 begins with the discovery of Timotheus:
Acts 16:1
Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek
Romans 16 closes with Timotheus:
Romans 16:21
Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.
Between Acts and Romans, the individual went from simply being *found* to being a *workfellow.* Paul seem to have respect for Timotheus to call him a *fellow* laborer, to honor him as working along side him, perhaps even in the sense of a peer. But that relationship went deeper.
In the very next book following Acts and Romans we find more detail from Paul:
1 Corinthians 4:14-17
14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
15 For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
Timotheus is not simply a workfellow but a beloved son in the gospel to Paul, and so trusted that Paul sends him as an extension of his *fatherly* role in ministry. Paul himself said, “yet have ye not many fathers.” Many will be as hirelings to the sheep of Christ, but few will be as true under shepherds. Paul reminds the Corinthians this, and then essentially says “Now, just as you trust me to love you, so do I ask you to trust Timotheus to love you as an under shepherd truly loves, for he comes in extension of the ministry God has given to me to labor in.”
Through these three consecutive books, Timotheus breaks forth from salvation, to faithful labor in the kingdom, to deep serving in ministry. But what next?
Later in the Epistles, Paul writes of Timotheus in a way that speaks honorably of him, both of his personal walk with Christ and with his faithful serving in the kingdom. The book of Philippians even opens with:
Philippians 1:1
Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons
“To the Philippian church, from Paul and Timotheus…”
It was not “from Paul, with Timotheus here too.” It was from “Paul and Timotheus.” Timotheus may not necessarily have penned that Epistle in the way Paul did, but to have Paul speak of him as standing beside him as an equal, in agreement with what was written…
Later, there was a departure from the season of being together:
1 Timothy 1:1-2
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
Timotheus had stepped into serving as a Pastor in his own right, and Paul wrote two Epistles to his beloved son in the faith. The process was coming full circle, repeating itself. We can imagine the heart of Paul swelling with love and godly pride as he wrote to the man he had found years ago during his travels, back then being only a simple Samaritan believer.
Just previous to finding Timotheus in Acts 16, Acts 15 closes with the disagreement and parting of ways of Paul and Barnabas. Barnabas said to take Mark with them, but Paul did not like that. In the end, Barnabas and Mark went one way, and Paul took Silas and went another. Had that split not happened, perhaps Timotheus would not have been found? But the destiny of Timotheus called for Paul to come to where he was, even if it meant “blessing and breaking” the ministry once held side by side by Paul and Barnabas.
Paul experienced today’s Psalm:

Had Paul set out to build his own house, he might have not looked to choose Timotheus as a son in the gospel. We know, however, the story goes that Paul chose him to come with them and Jesus did amazing things through that father-son relationship. Timotheus grew as a son, and that close relationship likely challenged Paul to grow as a father. It’s interesting to think how Timotheus may have been a gift to Paul specifically to help teach him how to be a father in the gospel towards the churches he was sent to and wrote to.
And Paul learned, it’s the Lord who builds the house. Timotheus’ life could not have been moulded by Paul to be everything Timotheus needed to be, neither for his salvation nor for the ministry. But God is able… From believer, to laborer, to Pastor, God raised up Timotheus after His heart and used Paul in particular as a vessel in that process. It returned as blessing upon Paul:

I can imagine how the devil probably tried to taunt Paul by bringing up his past, how he used to persecute the church. Were there times when he lay down to sleep at night and sudden he saw again the face of Stephen? Did he again see the face of the humble, faithful laborer (much like Timotheus) gazing up in awe towards heaven, heart and eyes locked upon the vision of the glory of God? Did he hear again Stephen’s final cry for God to forgive his murderers? A passionate soul, lost in love with God… a life suddenly snuffed out on this earth, at the hand of Saul.
But God gave Paul a gift, a son to speak with the enemy in the gate. The heritage of murder was replaced by a heritage of children in the gospel, in particular Timotheus. When the enemy brought up his past, Paul not only could point to the Blood but he could point to the testimony that was walking around in Timotheus. While Timotheus and Stephen had many similarities, Timotheus was not a Stephen-replacement, but his life did speak of God bringing life in a place where there had previously been death.

2 Timothy 4:5-9
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me
At the twilight of Paul’s time on earth, he wrote the Timotheus again. This time, there was again another shift. At the end of this second Epistle, he seems to pass the baton to Timotheus. He gives final instruction to Timotheus and exhorts him to carry on in what he knows, and follow Paul’s example even as he walked purposefully ever nearer to the end of the race.
He follows that with the short statement “Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me.” As the sun sets on Paul, the tables seem to turn:
“Timotheus, I have come unto you in years past, first unknowingly, then knowingly. But now it is time for you to come to me. It is time for you to truly step up and lead. As an aged father, my role in your life has changed. Do not wait for me, wait upon the Lord. Serve the Lord. I will soon pass from this world but more than being the son of Paul you are the son of Jesus. He is your father more than I ever could be, and it is by Him that the house was built in you and will be built after you. Let Him build the house, as I have learned. I cannot ‘stay up late’ past my season on earth to continue to raise you, and you cannot ‘rise up early’ to no longer need a father. The only way this will work, and the only way it has ever worked, is if the Lord builds the house. Let Him build, Timotheus, and keep fighting the good fight whether I am here or not.”
I wonder how many Timotheus’es are out there right now in Fort Worth alone, just waiting for a Paul to come by? Jesus will build the house if we let Him, but neither standing on the sidelines nor trying to take over the building process will make that happen. Imagine years from now, you pick up the phone and call a soul you were privileged to help win to the Lord. They begin to cry as you calmly tell them you don’t expect you have much longer, but then that familiar, fiery gospel rises up strong in you and you say “now, come unto me… rise up in the gospel, you are not my house but the Lord’s.”
Will we let the Lord build the house? There is a place by the Lord, the Lord’s construction site if you will. When we go to His foundation and stay planted in Him so He can build, then the house can come together as it needs to. Your Timotheus in the gospel may be right under your nose already, we must ask if we are willing to step aside and let God build.

Many times we try to rush into doing our own thing, GOD’s timing is always perfect!
1-2 If GOD doesn’t build the house, the builders only build shacks. If GOD doesn’t guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap. It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves? (MSG)

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil—for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep. (AMP)
1 Wthout the help of the LORD it is useless to build a home or to guard a city.
2 It is useless to get up early and stay up late in order to earn a living. God takes care of his own, even while they sleep. (CEV)
*We need to be sure God is part of our everyday lives that we don’t do anything without Him, otherwise what’s done without God is all in vain. We shouldn’t worry and try to over work, doing that (according to these 2 verses) would only be like telling God we don’t trust that He’ll take care of us. God does care for us though even while we sleep – thank you Jesus!!
Vs. 2, “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved rest.”
“It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest ot those he loves?” (MSG version).
This passage of scripture made me think of the busy and stressful world in which we live in today. Man going to and fro and being stressed out with no PEACE in their lives. This is why we need JESUS in our lives. He is our PEACE and REST.
I stand upon God’s Word today which says in Matt. 11:28-29, ” Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me: for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
REST = PEACE.
No GOD, No PEACE
Know GOD, Know PEACE !

This is a great scripture! This just goes to show that the youth are the church of today. A willing youth can be used in great things if he or she is willing to do so. God wants us all to be a willing vessel ready to be used in any way that he sees fit.

Build your House on the word of God and you will stand through the storms of Life.
Verse 1 CEV “Without the help of the Lord it is useless to build a home or to guard a city.” Lord I want you to be in the midst of every decision, every thought, and every step that I take.
The building of the house with the guidance and direction of the Lord will cause a family to be stronger, and wiser because they are seeking the counsel and living by the commandments that God has graciously provided through instruction in His word. Those who avoid seeking His counsel labor in vain, because not many days in this world and there is trouble. If we think we can figure life out on our own, we are like fools. Without Jesus guiding us, we have no hope.
Seeking the Godly principles through prayer and His word, and putting them into action should be the #1 thing a family is build upon. Teaching our children from an early age up to do the same, is worth far more than any riches this old world can offer.
Since the human race began, a clear sign of God’s blessing has been its proliferation. God has the power to wipe out life at any time, but he chooses instead to preserve it, nuture it and cherish it. The family structure is crucial to the security and well-being of individuals (Ps 68:6), and Scripture is packed with stories about families and lessons about how to conduct family affairs. For the Israelites, having family is especially important, as the inheritance God secures for them in the promised land will be lost unless they have heirs to recieve it (Nu 27:8-11). Thus, children are especially prized as gifts from God; close family ties are considered a reward for obedience to God’s ways, obedience with joy.

Except The Lord build the church. . .
Some men try to build a church on their programs or what they offer, but if a MAN builds the church it will not stand (it will fail).
When God builds the church then it stands. No matter what issues occur, it stands.

Praise God! What an awesome God we serve. Lord serving you at your temple is the greatest blessing I have received in my entire life. It’s never too late to let our unstoppable spirit seek you and find you Lord. I thank you Lord for my children, I honor you and your Holy name.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Arrows or any other weapon are tools used in warfare, when men (and women) have been trained to use them skillfully they learn to use them precisely as needed. With their weapons and training a mighty warrior can enter battle with confidence in himself and his know how. Likewise children whether physical or spiritual are how we affect the future for the long run. Decisions we make may affect the future for a time but if we do not train and teach those that come behind us those ideas will be replaced with the worlds. The more children we have the more of an impact we have. Spiritually the more new children of God born into the kingdom the bigger the impact we have on this world and its king. With the proper training, guidance, and tools the next generation will be able to stand its ground in the face of adversity. When the world knocks on the gates they will not be ashamed to stand for truth.
