Psalm Chapter 141

Read Acts Chapter 2

Psalm 141

1 Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.

But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

  1. ILove to eat the Word

3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

    Watch-08108
    שָׁמְרָה shomrah
    Noun Feminine shom-raw’
of an unused noun from (08104) meaning a guard
feminine of an unused noun from meaning a guard; watchfulness:–watch.
    guard, watch

We all need to pray this prayer every day. We need to put an armed guard in front of our mouth…and keep our fat tongue locked up.

  2. 3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

Keep a door before my lips, Lord help me to guard the words I speak.

  3. Wonderful Prayer

3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

James 3:8 But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God;10 from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. 11 Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.

In our mouth is our most powerful weapon and the hardest thing to control. As humans we let ourselves speak out of emotions and those emotions that rule our tongue can murder the softest heart. For that same reason we must surrender it to God. For in our words is the power to bless or curse… we should show the fruit of blessings not of cursings, for let God judge. The tree must be know by its fruits!!!! What fruits are you giving to eat? Are you and others getting a belly ache from what comes out of your mouth? Place God as the guard of your lips, may He only allow Praises come out of your mouth. Thank you Jesus for making your word our daily bread and for delivering us from evil.

  4. 8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

We must never loose sight of Him. He is our prize should we run the good race, without growing weary and fainting…

  5. Take control of what I say, O Lord, and guard my lips. (Psalms 141:3 NLT)
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverbs 18:21 KJV)
Lord that I may always speak life!!!!

  6. O WHAT A GOOD GOD! HE DELIVERED ME FROM THE WORLD!

    Romans 6:13

Neither yeild ye members as members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin; but yeild yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God

If you are battling with sin for awhile like me, (pray), this passage explains everything to me.
    Thank u Jesus..

  7. 5 Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

    Proverbs 1:8
My son, hear the instruction of thy father,
and forsake not the law of thy mother:

The word for instruction means chastisement; figuratively, reproof, warning or instruction; also restraint:— bond, chastening ((- eth)), chastisement, check, correction, discipline, doctrine, instruction, rebuke.

We understand spiritually our mother is the church, and Pastor is our father. We must keep the law of our mother the church. Many follow the guidelines and standards but stray from the correction of the father.

Pastor correct me. Tell me straight forward. Don’t let me be lost. If you sense even a small bit of odor in my spirit let me know.

The bible says in Malachi that the heart of the sons will turn to the fathers. Let our daily prayer be that our heart turns toward our spiritual father. We can follow the rules but we need someone who will warn us in love.

Thank you Pastor for every word of warning, and correction. This is truly reflecting God’s nature.

    Proverbs 3:12
    For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth;
even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

  8. Take control of what I say, O Lord, and guard my lips. Don’t let me drift toward evil or take part in acts of wickedness. Don’t let me share in the delicacies of those who do wrong. Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they correct me, it is soothing medicine. Don’t let me refuse it. But I pray constantly against the wicked and their deeds. (Psalms 141:3-5 NLT)

It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell. (James 3:6 MSG)

PEACEMAKER ! = Child of God

“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family. (Matthew 5:9 MSG)

Teachable spirit – We’re never too old to learn. Thank you Pastor for correction.

People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray. (Proverbs 10:17 NLT)

To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. (Proverbs 12:1 NLT)

A wise child accepts a parent’s discipline; a mocker refuses to listen to correction. Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. (Proverbs 13:1, 3 NLT)

An open rebuke is better than hidden love! Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. (Proverbs 27:5, 6, 9 NLT)

  9. 8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

The snares of an unGodly conversation are
Waiting for us every day. We can either get caught by the same net as the enemy or we can escape with our lives.
Let us escape today in Jesus name

  10. 3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
I want every word that comes out of my mouth to be because he put them there.

  11. 9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

Powerful words. So many times people ”justify” what they say about someone else not even having a clue of the real truth and not being bold enough to find out the truth from the source. So snares are laid and the ones laying the snares don’t even see how wrong they are because they are ”justified” by emotions but emotions are deceiving. Lord help us all to be wise and pray for you to help us with our words and how we choose to view or speak of others.

  12. 1 Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

The Word has all the answers. As it has been stated here as of late, we must be careful in every word that we speak. Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and we can choose weither or not to buildup one another with it. My prayer is thath God would help me in keeping me accountable in every word that I say.

  13. JESUS!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!
3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
I THANK YOU DADDY FOR YOUR GREAT MERCY!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! GRACIAS TE DOY PADRE HERMOSILLO Y GRANDIOSO POR TU GRAN AMOR!!! HALELUJAH !!!

  14. THE CORE CONNECTION OF THE SOUL

3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

ENTITLEMENT – belief that one is deserving of or entitled to certain privileges.

Entitlement is one of the most dangerous, deceptive thought patterns of the human soul. If we were all handed what we were deserving, our countenance would grudgingly defeated. However this self righteous attitude has swollen up in recent weeks among The POFW family.

    For EXAMPLE:

“I dont need anyone to tell me what to do”
“I am a man just like the Pastor is”
“What makes him/her better than me”
“I deserve a break and it is obvious the Pastor is not going to give us one, so I am not going to serve”

These are just a few of many similar statements of self proclaimed worth or entitlement. This deceptive spirit shows up in our conversation. The kingdom of satan understands the power of the “spoken WORD” as he witnessed darkness becoming light and chaos became order at the “spoken WORD of GOD” and he knows we are created in the image of GOD and after HIS likeness. We must possess the same creative POWER in our WORDS.

This is why entitlement, gossip and slander are easy to FALL into. Any words spoken to this wise is death to our GODLY man.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

    What Are YOU Talking About?

The psalmist understands this principal, hence his prayer in verses 3-4. If we had a Security Guard at our mouths, so that every time we said something deadly to ourselves or others we would be arrested and carried to repentance and prayer, our hearts could and would be kept pure.

    JESUS describes this principal:

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

THE CORE CONNECTION OF THE SOUL

is the MOUTH – HEART connection.

Our mouth reveals what is really in our heart!

If we speak evil of anyone then that is what is in our heart (Gossip/Slander). If we speak FAITH then that is what is in our heart. If we boast then pride has filled our heart (ENTITLEMENT).

The psalmist ask for a Guard on HIS mouth because it reveals what is in his heart.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Keep your heart by keeping your conversation PURE and POSITIVE filled with PRAISE to GOD and ENCOURAGEMENT to OTHERS fulfilling the CROSS we must bear.

James makes this principal very clear in his epistle:

James 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

We cannot gossip/slander others and our heart be right with GOD.

  15. Lord, Incline not my heart to ANY evil thing,
to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties. In Jesus Name, Amen.

  16. Psalm 141:1-4
Lord,I cried unto thee;make haste unto me;give ear unto my voice, when I cried unto thee.(2)let my prayer be set forth before before unto thee as incense ;and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice .(3)set a watch O LORD,before my mout; keep the door of my lips.(4)incline not my heart to any evil thing,to practice wicked works with men that work iniquity, and let me not eat of their dainties.
    ———-
    Yes LORD!
Help me O LORD; for I do not want to compromised, I don’t want nothing to do with what this world offers…
—- and if they are going to be mad at me,let it be because of ( my walk)in righteousness, I believe you will take care of them….
—- the fear of the LORD is the BEGINING of wisdom.
141:8but mine eyes are unto thee,O GOD THE LORD,:in thee is my trust;leave not my soul destitute.
    ——-
…..in thee is my trust: MY TRUST, with EVERYTHING, in me, around me,every single thing in my life is in your hands. You do whatever you want wit me, and around me for my confident is in you, and only YOU!
    In Jesus name, AMEN!

  17. Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they correct me, it is soothing medicine. Don’t let me refuse it. But I pray constantly against the wicked and their deeds. (Psalms 141:5 NLT)

When someone takes the time to correct us it’s out of love and kindness.

Take correction as a soothing medicine. When you sick and the doctor gives you medicine do you refuse it? Then why would we refuse the medicine from The Lord that will help us?

Pray constantly against the evil works!

  18. 9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

Lord help me to walk in my faith everyday no matter what others do around me.

  19. 1 Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

I trust in you oh God!!

8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

Turn my mind, my eyes , my ears and my tongue

  20. v2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men that work iniquity:and let me not eat of their dainties.

The Psalmist prayed a beautiful prayer. He had the understanding that GOD’S anointing was upon him, and to get on the level of evil works was below his calling. He had to much of GOD and a great kingly future.
GOD has called us also into HIS marvelous light. GOD’S hand and anointing is upon us, and HE has something greater for everyone of us. So let’s rise above evil and wicked works. Refuse to be an instrument of vengeance . Look to JESUS our future and rise above the pettiness of our present emotion because someday we will look back thankful or regretful .
I want to be thankful .

  21. Before even reading the word we knew from growing up that our words can wound, or heal. When we get upset, instead of acting out of emotion, we are called to “take up our cross” pray and ask God to cleanse our heart. Its a heart thing, if we get off track with God our focus is off, and we are prey to sin. Sometimes we say things that we didnt even think was wrong. If I keep trying in my own power to bite my tounge I will fail because I have to have the power of the Holy Ghost within me discerning my words. We cannot do anything without Christ and be clean and holy, we must not misplace Him in our hearts. If what we say is a product of the “treasure of our hearts” then I dont want it to be riches of this world, but He is my inheritence and treasure. Discipline is apart of the race, and sometimes we slack, God does not. When I take the sword of my tounge into my own hands, all kinds of destruction can happen. We arent called to take matters into our own hands but trust in God to give us the words to say. He told Moses he would give him the words to speak to pharoah, He told the disciples and us not to worry about what we are going to tell law enforcement in defense of gospel teaching. He said he would give them to us. If our Father isnt giving us the words to say (even guided through the words of Scripture) whose words are we representing? We are called to be “holy unto the Lord”, a “peculiar people”, “ambassadors of Christ”. If He holds us up to a different calliber once we recieve the Holy Ghost, we must act like Him. Im sorry Lord for anytime I didnt behave like your daughter. Thank you Lord for repentance, and working on us in your mercy until your work is fulfilled in us.

  22. Psalm 141 A prayer for deliverance from the wicked and their evil ways.
the prayer is profuse in its physiological allusions: hands, mouth, lips, heart, head, bones, eyes.
Makes me think of the words to this song:
Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands
    As darkness pulls the strings

Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you
    That are sure to follow

    It’s a slow fade
    When you give yourself away
    It’s a slow fade
When black and white are turned to gray

And thoughts invade, choices are made
    A price will be paid
    When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

    It’s a slow fade
    It’s a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
    When flattering leads to compromises
    The end is always near

Be careful little lips what you say
    For empty words and promises
    Leave broken hearts astray

    It’s a slow fade
    When you give yourself away
    It’s a slow fade
When black and white are turned to gray

And thoughts invade, choices are made
    A price will be paid
    When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
    Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
    You just might be sinking

    It’s a slow fade
    When you give yourself away
    It’s a slow fade
When black and white are turned to gray

And thoughts invade, choices are made
    A price will be paid
    When you give yourself away

People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see

141:4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, To practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: And let me not eat of their dainties( The luxuriant tables the wicked set from their unjust gains—keep me from acquiring an appetite for such unholy dainties.
    .

  23. Vs.3-4, “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with them that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.”

MSG version, “Post a guard at my mouth, God, set a watch at the door of my lips. Don’t let me so much as dream of evil or thoughtlessly fall into bad company. And these people who only do wrong – don’t let them lure me with their sweet talk!”

We not only need to be careful of what we say, and how we say it, but we need to be careful of the company we keep, and what they are saying.

Proverbs 18:21a says, “Life and death are in the power of the tongue…”

James 3:8-10 says, “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessings and cursings. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.”

James 1:26 says, “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.”

A prayer that I pray often is… LORD, please help me with my attitude today and help me be careful as to what I say, because it does and can make a difference in a life I talk to today.

An old Sunday School song came to mind today.
O be careful little mouth what you say,
O be careful little mouth what you say,
For the Father up above is looking down in love,
O be careful little mouth what you say.

  24. In this scripture, the below verse is to confirm what has been previously referenced in the affairs of Gossip. I pray daily, that God would place a seal upon my lips that I not transgress with my lips.

3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

    _______________________________________________

Also, in the next verse it brings to mind on many occasions Jesus was delivered or escaped from the hands of wicked men. Like when they wanted to stone him in the synagogue or other locations. Because, it was not his time yet! “Until the Cross”…….

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

But, Lord willing that we all escape on that great day called, the “Catching Away”…..Amen. “Delivered”………..

  25. Verses 8-10 MSG “But God, dear Lord,
I only have eyes for you.
Since I’ve run for dear life to you,
    take good care of me.
Protect me from their evil scheming,
    from all their demonic subterfuge.
Let the wicked fall flat on their faces,
while I walk off without a scratch.”

This again reminds me of the song by Freddy Rodriguez called “I Will Run”:

    “So I will run
    Forever I will run
    Unto You, oh God
    Now You have my heart
So I will, I will run
    Forever I will run
    Run to You, oh God
    Where else can I go
    Forever I will run”

  26. 3 Post a guard at my mouth, God, set a watch at the door of my lips. 4 Don’t let me so much as dream of evil or thoughtlessly fall into bad company. And these people who only do wrong – don’t let them lure me with their sweet talk! MSG
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Eph. 4:29 ESV

God help me to only talk life into a situation or someones life.

  27. 5 Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

I’d rather be corrected than choose a rebellious path to death. No it does not feel good but the sting of it passes rather quickly than continuing in a path of self distruction. If I have done wrong I would rather be corrected in love than left to crash and burn…

    My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord;
neither be weary of his correction:
    For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth;
even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

  28. David prays at night for protection of sin and from sinners. He will be safe as long as his dalily focus and prayers and putting the Lord first in every aspect of his life .

  29. This chapter illustrates heart. “But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute”. One must heed to the Word of God (Jesus), and determine in one’s own heart, where one wants to go in God. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  30. 3 Take control of what I say, O LORD, and guard my lips.
4 Don’t let me drift toward evil or take part in acts of wickedness. Don’t let me share in the delicacies of those who do wrong.
5 Let the godly strike me! It will be a kindness! If they correct me, it is soothing medicine. Don’t let me refuse it. But I pray constantly against the wicked and their deeds. (NLT)

3-5 Post a guard at my mouth, GOD, set a watch at the door of my lips. Don’t let me so much as dream of evil or thoughtlessly fall into bad company. And these people who only do wrong—don’t let them lure me with their sweet talk! May the Just One set me straight, may the Kind One correct me, Don’t let sin anoint my head. I’m praying hard against their evil ways! (MSG)

3 Set a guard, O Lord, before my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.
4 Incline my heart not to submit or consent to any evil thing or to be occupied in deeds of wickedness with men who work iniquity; and let me not eat of their dainties.
5 Let the righteous man smite and correct me—it is a kindness. Oil so choice let not my head refuse or discourage; for even in their evils or calamities shall my prayer continue. (AMP)

**We all, including myself, must be cautious of what we allow ourselves to speak. Before words are spoken from our mouths and off our tongues it is processed through our minds. We should always be sure to have Jesus on our minds so we can always talk about Jesus and the great things He is doing. Correct me and guard me God from all evil that I may speak with a good clean tongue and of your greatness.

  31. 3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Another verse for us to bridle our tongues. We need Gods help to keep our mouths in control. Let the Holy Spirit dictate what comes out of our mouths!

  32. 3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: …

Lord help me to guard my heart, my thoughts and my words lest the enemy use them to destroy your people!

  33. 3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

If someone keeps watch, they look and listen all the time, while other people are asleep or doing something else, so that they can warn them of danger or an attack.

In the Navy we set a watch for safety and security. It was an important job because the safety of others was your responsibility.

Watch what you say and protect others around you.

  34. 3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Just like Nehemiah who was the watchman on the wall, looking out for Israel that they would not be overtaken by the enemy, I want the spirit of God that is within me to watch over me. If I say something or even think of something to say that would offend, I want the convicting power of God to smite my heart. I cannot and will not be lost over what proceeds out of my mouth.

The power of life and death is in the tongue.

  35. The enemy has nothing better to do than to kill, still and destroy lives.
Lord deliver me and my family from all evil. You know the intentions of the enemies wicked ways. May your mercy and grace deliver us from alll evel.

  36. 8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.

We must not let another’s sin ensnare us. Rebellion, offense, gossip, division… Without participating, it’s possible to be witness to another’s wrong actions and become ensnared. Why should another’s sin that doesn’t involve you cause you to be offended and your heart to become hard? They might repent and be forgiven, but what if you go to hell over bitterness about a sin that didn’t even involve you? Sin is messy, it’s not worth it to be caught off guard and become ensnared by another’s sin. We must stay pure and be careful what comes in, and is allowed to grow and bear fruit…

Work at getting along with each other and with God. Otherwise you’ll never get so much as a glimpse of God. Make sure no one gets left out of God’s generosity. Keep a sharp eye out for weeds of bitter discontent. A thistle or two gone to seed can ruin a whole garden in no time. Watch out for the Esau syndrome: trading away God’s lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite. You well know how Esau later regretted that impulsive act and wanted God’s blessing—but by then it was too late, tears or no tears. (Hebrews 12:14-17 MSG)

  37. 8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

  38. 8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

  39. 2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. I lift up my hands in prayer for a living sacrifice at night.
