Proverbs 4

1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

  1. Turn away

We were in darkness before we knew Jesus…that’s reason enouph to turn away from it.Follow righteousness and obey God’s words and we will never be in darkness again. We are the light and we shine God’s(Jesus) light everywhere we go. What a wonderful blessing to know that we are God’s people. Thank you Jesus! No way will I allow darkness come into my life, people try to bring it all back to me and make it seem the best way but there’s an dead end to it and it aint nice(Hades).
I make sure I repent and turn away from this world where there’s no happiness everyday and if I dont my spirit is sick(troubled) and i need to start an PRAISE TO Jesus the King of Kings and go on an attack to the enemy with praises to God and his Word day and night.
Read John chpt 3 lastnight before I slept about Nicodemis when he ask Jesus “what must I do to enter in the Kingdom of God?”, and Jesus says “we must be born of the water and spirit”, and it made alot of sense that Jesus loved him to tell him so directly.
Jesus cares how, what, when where we do things.
I long for more people of this world to ask us “how” they get to heaven and be happy.
I would be honoured and my duty in Christ to tell them the truth like Jesus told Nicodemis.
    What glorious honesty.
Thank you my Lord for bringing life to me everyday with a future to look forward to~ thats all I need everyday alot of Holy Ghost. I love you Jesus.
Thank you Lord in Jesus Name forever.

Protect Your Heart at All Costs
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

    Keep- 1407
    נָצַר natsar
    Verb naw-tsar’
    a primitive root
a primitive root; to guard, in a good sense (to protect, maintain, obey, etc.) or a bad one (to conceal, etc.):– besieged, hidden thing, keep(-er, -ing), monument, observe, preserve(-r), subtil, watcher(-man).
to guard, watch, watch over, keep
    (Qal)
    to watch, guard, keep
    to preserve, guard from dangers
to keep, observe, guard with fidelity
    to guard, keep secret
to be kept close, be blockaded
    watchman (participle)

When you really protect your heart, you will erect walls around it and you will put an armed guard about it.

  3. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

What a true and strong statement. What goes in will come out…

  4. (Proverbs 4:2-6 KJV)

  5. There are three steps to wisdom.

    1. Go after it!

5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Wisdom does not come to those who passively expect but rather those who will seek it until they find it. No man is wise just because. Wisdom must be obtained.

    2. Keep it!

13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

Wisdom can slip out of our grasp if we do not actively keep it. Wisdom is kept by applying knowledge, and growing in it. Wisdom is a constant teacher if we have ears to actively listen to her teaching.

    3. Protect it!

16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

The enemy assumes a constant attack on the wise. Compromise, and complacency are his weapons of choice. The moment he can convince us we have arrived will be the moment we start to lose wisdom. His attack is to slowly erode us away.

The common thread to each step is action. Actively pursuing, holding, and shielding will cause us to grow in wisdom everyday.

    Why Wisdom?

    Proverbs 2:2-5
So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom,
    and apply thine heart to understanding;
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge,
    and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
If thou seekest her as silver,
    and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord,
and find the knowledge of God.

  6. A gift of Royalty

Wisdom what a gift, He gives it, if you seek it and with all that wisdom get understanding… What is the use of having wisdom if you have no understanding for only when you have understanding you can explain and teach others.

9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Wisdom will deliver a crown of glory to you… To gain Wisdom you must first be willing to be taught and corrected. Then, get understanding for our goal is to GO TEACH… making disciples.

Thank you Jesus for your gifts of Royalty.

  7. Don’t even think about it; don’t go that way. Turn away and keep moving. My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. (Proverbs 4:15, 20, 25 NLT)

Last night we were called to go to another level! So let’s Keep Moving! Now is the time!

  8. 25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

You’ll eventually go where you’re looking. You can’t look to the right and left and still walk the straight path.

    2 Chronicles 34:2 KJV
[2] And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.

  9. 18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Which way are our feet walking? Are we constantly stumbling over things we didn’t even see there? Are our surroundings so dark that we’ve become used to the cold emptiness of the dark? Or Is the light that is Jesus Christ shining. Through us in a way that it is shone on the paths of those closest to us? We have to let our light shine, we have to walk the path of the just. With a world full of darkness it would be selfish of us to hide the light, the truth. What we have (the Holy Spirit) saves lives… It saved mine. If we’re constantly in darkness we can bring that to other people’s situations. Ponder the path that Your feet walk!!!!! We are the light of the world THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  10. HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! 1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
JESUS I LOVE THY WAYS!!! I WANT MORE OF YOU DADDY!!! WE SHOULD WANT TO BECOME AS HEARING CHILDREN SO THAT WE WOULD DOOOO AS HE SAYS, ATTENDING TO KNOW UNDERSTANDING (JESUS)!!! HAVING AN OBEDIENT HEART TO BE ABLE TO HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST JESUS!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! I LIVE TO WORSHIP AND PRAISE YOU DADDY!!! OOOOO MY JESUS I LOVE YOU!!!

  11. 25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

I heard this once; “wherever your mind is that’s where your feet will go” God called Peter to come out of the boat..a step of faith to the impossible for “man” walk in water. God is often calling us out off our stagnant stage, our depression, our anxiety, our doubts, our fears and insecurities, our “sea of troubles” by faith, we may take the step in the moment of heightened emotion and belief, but as you take the second and feel the wind and hear the roaring waves of the world we must not take our eyes off Jesus, our Strong Tower, our hiding place. When doubt and discouragement attack with specialized firery darts we must take all that is available to us from God to overcome and keep us in the right path. The Word, His mercy, His grace, His blood, His promises…we might be tempted to loose hope by what we see that’s why our sigh should be fixed on Jesus. Thinking what will bring us closer to Jesus who has all the answers, to not go into the shadows of evil but keep straight ahead walking towards the light if Jesus. That same Light will reflect off us into this world and by our “path” which is our testimony people will see the light. Ponder about your next step. Let it be one that takes you closer to Jesus.

  12. Vs. 23-27, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a forward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look staight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy feet from evil.”

MSG version, “Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.”

There are too many things in this world that would like to distract us from following Jesus. That’s why we need to keep, guard, and protect our heart and mind. We need to be careful what we speak. We need to keep our eyes focused upon Jesus, for when we do, he will lead us down plain pathways. He will lead us to life everlasting.

As I write this, my mind keeps going to the scriptures found in Matt. 7:13-14, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because stait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

I want to keep my eyes on Jesus and the narrow path that leadeth to life.

  13. STAY FOCUSED

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Keep – 5341. natsar, naw-tsar´; to guard, in a good sense (to protect, maintain, obey, etc.)

Heart – 3820. leb, labe; the heart; also used very widely for the feelings, the will and even the intellect; likewise for the centre of anything.

Diligence – 4929. mishmar, mish-mawr´; a guard; a deposit —diligence, guard, office, prison, ward, watch.

The verse very well could read “PROTECT your PURPOSE and set GUARDS around it, to fulfill your purpose in life.”

“Watch little mouth what you say”

    Froward – 6143. ik-kesh-ooth´; from 6141; perversity:—x froward.6141. ik-kashe´; distorted; hence, false:—crooked, froward, perverse.

Mouth – What Are You Talking About?

Speak clearly in regards to FAITH and JESUS. A distorted heart produces a distorted mouth. Do not all time, chance, trial, tribulation, opposition, success, offenses, persecution, famine or abundance to cause you to lose focus.

The HEART is the PLACE of the Laws of GOD.

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Here is why it is so important to KEEP (PROTECT) our HEART, it is where GOD writes HIS Laws in us. Our speech/mouth is the evidence of what is in our heart.

What comes out of the HEART?

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

  14. What is a woman to a man? Solomon is trying to get the attention of his son and pass along the wisdom that he has learned through his life. “Pay attention boy! I have good stuff here!” So, why the reference of “she” concerning knowledge, wisdom and truths? Could it be objects of importance; tangible or not are things to be desired? Consider a really nice car. They possess a certain beauty in their curves or lines that can be understood in terms of desire. Owning a nice car, in many circles, is an emblem of having “made it” to a certain level of achievement.

God created man to desire a mate. He created the better half of man in the woman. Thus, things of desire might be labeled she and/or her. “What a neat doodad; isn’t she pretty?” It could be the time invested to attain these desirable goals. Women do not grow on trees and are not picked out of a line-up at the supermarket. We have to invest time, energy and promote our best to woo and impress them to want us in return. The same applies to wisdom and knowledge. A Master’s degree in thingamabobs is not easily attained. It generally takes many years of university studies to reach these levels of knowledge.

Do women refer to their things as he or him? I have not heard these phrases… Or maybe, these things often malfunction at inopportune times, require time-consuming and/or costly maintenance, or (if you’ve spent a lot money, say) fail to live up to the hype and expectations. In short, they can be a bit unpredictable and cranky. So, you can see how those attributes match the male perception of the female and he psychology, right… 🙂

  15. 14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. 15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. 16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

Great words of wisdom! If we avoid all evil we then don’t have to worry about the report that will come. And then even if an evil report does arise , then we have nothing to fear because the truth will set you free. When we do wrong we must pay for what we did, yet after the fact then true forgiveness can come in. We must remember the story of Job, he turned away even the very apprence of evil. This is a testament to what we can do as Gods children.

  16. Psalm4:5 get wisdom get understanding:forget it not;neather decline
From the words of my mouth.
This is a daily walk with GOD.!!!!!

How do I handle this situation ?
How can I forget this person?
Is this what I really need?
Is this what GOD really ment for me?
    What should I do ?
    —-question after question sometimes….
I think is plain and simple: READ THE WORD, GIVE GOD TIME TO ANSWER BACK THE QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE, pay attention to the direction he want to take you and obey.
WE WILL NOT GET WISDOM OR BECOME WISE IF WE ONLY OPEN THE BOOK HERE IN THERE……..
    ———————–
Psalm 4:13take fast hold of instruction
Let her not go:keep her:for she is thy life.
Stick with the truth of GOD,keep his commandments, once GOD has giving us instruction, his direction, his plan…. Let us not
Come out with any ideas from us(our own thinking)
If he said for to do something, we’d better do it, we’d better do it his way, the way he first said it!
Guide me LORD, guide me in your truth and teach me……

Psalm4:23keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.

    KEEK YOUR HEART……!!!!!!!!
    From what?
A child of GOD should not aloud this to happen in their life, shake it off as soon as we recognize it.
    NOt to be:
    ANGRY
    JELOUS
    SAD
    DEPRESS
    DESPERATE( in a bad way)
    Unbeliever
    AFRAID
    FRUSTATED
    WORRY
    DISCOURAGE AND ELSE………
Let us seek the kingdom of GOD, instead.
    In Jesus name, I pray.

    • Almost forgot, and all these is IS NOT
OF GOD, that is why he commands us to keep, guard our heart. Cause he knows that if the devil get us to be rather worry or angry our focus would no longer be in GOD but in the worries of life.

Thankful for the WORD Given to each one of us yesterday by the men of GOD from GOD.

I BELIVE, I see it I rejoice, thank you JESUS!

  17. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Wisdom has the power to preserve and keep you.

  18. 10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

So this is saying that if you get and practice wisdom and understanding then you will live a long time. This reminds me of honor your mother and father that you might live a long time. That means that if you honor your mother and father then you probably have wisdom and understanding.

  19. This chapter illustrates guidance. Sound advice was passed on; “Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding”. Everyone listens to someone. One must be ever diligent for while the deceiver is seeking to give immoral guidance, the Lord (Jesus) through his Word, and the man of God are providing guidance that will save one. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  20. 11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

“We are the company we keep”. It is important for us to be mindful of out environment and friends, for they influence us greatly. If we spend to much time with wick people who have few moral boundaries then we will fall into a pattern of thinking and acting like they do. When we foster relationships with Godly people then foster relationships the encourage and uplift our walk with God.

25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

We are warned to guard our heats from temptation from sinful pleasures no matter how small. Even though they can start out as small and seem harmless, they can and will lead you down a an empty and bitter road. God promises can only be fulfilled if we avoid sinful pleasures.

  21. 14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

Don’t even pass by look at think about the evil way. Even when we think we are strong enough we think we can handle a situation the word says to turn away don’t even look don’t let it be a option in your mind rebuke it. We are human not created perfect why leave your soul to chance run away from evil don’t look back lest we get seduced by the evil ways of the wicked.

  22. What’s your Christian conduct?

Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright. Turn not aside to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil. (Proverbs 4:26, 27 AMP)

I remember in school not only was I graded on the progress of my learning but also my conduct.
    E – excellent

    S- Satisfactory

    N- Needs Improvement

    U- Unsaticfactory

These scripture is the model of an excellent Christian Conduct. I’m challenged today to do better….

Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality. Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they’re happy; share tears when they’re down. Get along with each other; don’t be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don’t be the great somebody. Don’t hit back; discover beauty in everyone. If you’ve got it in you, get along with everybody. Don’t insist on getting even; that’s not for you to do. “I’ll do the judging,” says God. “I’ll take care of it.” Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he’s thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness. Don’t let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good. (Romans 12:9-21 MSG)

  23. 4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

I will keep all of your word in my heart and treasure it

  24. What Wisdom Is

7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Wisdom as Solomon describes it is so much more than mere knowledge, good intuition, cleverness or buisness acumen. What ranks above all else in God’s economy is not a sharp mind but a discerning heart, the only thing Solomon asks God for when he becomes king. God blesses Solomon for choosing such a spiritually meaningful gift (1Ki 3:5-14), and here Solomon assures his listeners that they, too, will recieve honor, grace, and joy if they diligently pursue wisdom no matter what the cost.

  25. In the next verse, you can see it’s not only important to gain in wisdom but also to get understanding. We need to apply both, you might have the wisdom of how to do things, but equally important is understanding why or how God thinks about it.

You see, you can be a Rocket Scientist, but be lacking in true understanding on how things are applied. In other words, having book smarts, but lacking in the understanding or skill to actually apply the wisdom, that inables you to complete any certain task.

In other words, like building an engine to a rocket. You might have the wisdom to design this rocket, but lack the understanding or skills to conduct the actual maintenance of this vessel or enhancing the performance of the rocket. You might be lacking in understanding the theories of gravity, orbital pulls, or magnetic fields, weather variations and much more. So, it’s more than having the wisdom to build, but understanding of how, why, what, where, when, to apply or many other variances to consider.

Just like today, it might be legal to smoke marijuana or to have same sex marriage doesn’t means its O.K. Just because you can, doesn’t mean it’s approved by God. (Wisdom / Understanding)………………

7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

This means we are getting brighter and brighter each day…….

18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
    _______________________________________________________
In the next verse, is diffinately a good warning for us all, let’s not give the devil a foot hold. “Walk Straighter”……………………

27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

    “Now”……………………………………………………………………………

  26. Principle-Centered Leadership

Leaders who last do not merely react to their culture; they base their leadership on timeless and universal principles. they remain relevant because they marry cultural context to timeless truth. Proverbs 4 encourages leaders to become principle centered. Versus 20-27 teach us that God’s principles give us 3 crucial tools:
    1. they are a guide; they help us stay on the right path.
    2. they are a guard; they keep our hearts and bodies protected.
    3. they are a good gauge; they enable us to evaluate where we are.
every leader ought to consume God’s Word, then put the truths he or she discovers in the form of principles that can guide, guard, and gauge his or her life.

  27. 3 For I was my father’s son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

King David imparted God’s wisdom to his son Soloman. We do not know the path God has planned for our children but if we do our part & teach them God’s word, they will be prepared to step into that role.

  28. 26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Think about what you are doing before you do it. Pray about it and let God steer you.

  29. Websters dictionary defines wisdom as: ability to discern inner qualities and relationships : insight, good sense : judgment , generally accepted belief , a wise attitude, belief, or course of action, : the teachings of the ancient wise men

We can gain much knowledge from speaking to and gleaning from elders, as well, as searching out the Word of God. Our spirit must be open and accept what is being heard, and we apply it to our daily lives. Wisdom learned from others can save us much hardship and heartbreak, if we will listen and apply.

  30. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks

Guard your heart and listen to the words you speak.

  31. v23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Create in me a clean heart , O GOD; and renew a right spirit within me”

  32. 25 Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions MSG

keep you eyes looking straight ahead don’t look behind you look forward. don’t let your past define you.

  33. The Lord is allowing us to examine ourselves and make things right with him. God is giving us life everlasting and good health if we guard our hearts and live a godly life. Lord I give myself to you, I honor your holy name.

  34. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Capital One has the slogan “what’s in your wallet?” This Proverb seems to ask “what’s in your heart?”

We must ask ourselves, what’s really there? God alone truly sees us as we are, and we must allow Him to search us and lead us in becoming purified vessels.

7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Wisdom is walking in the fear of the Lord, applying knowledge. Getting more knowledge pours fuel on the fire and helps us walk more closely with Him. Guarding our hearts relies on us learning from Him what we must guard ourselves from. The more we know, the better we can preserve the purification of God in our lives. He’s more than a Saver, He’s also a Keeper; He does more than clean up our messes but can keep us from getting into them in the first place and messing up what’s He’s already cleaned up. He calls us in turn to partner in this work of grace by commanding us to keep our hearts with all diligence. It is a process but God’s grace is sufficient…

18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

  35. V25 look on not to the left not to the right but straight on God no matter what must stay focused on God and his word.

  36. 1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

I want to hear! I don’t want to lose out on hearing anything my fathers have to say

  37. Verses 10-13 NLT:
“My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life.
I will teach you wisdom’s ways
and lead you in straight paths.
    When you walk, you won’t be held back;
when you run, you won’t stumble.
Take hold of my instructions; don’t let them go.
Guard them, for they are the key to life.”

Verse 23 NLT “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Whatever or whomever you let in to your heart, will be the host of it. Stay focused on the Lord and his instruction.
