Proverbs 7

1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

  1. Nothing for us to follow~ but the King James bible which is the truth-

The passage and warning sign that I recieved here in this chptr was that there has been alot of false religions that try to twist and turn the gospel into a playground for social attendance instead of a good ol fashion alter call. And people get hurt. Big time pastors ministers had the truth then the attractive woman (false teaching) came to them and swept them away to the deep way of hell. Like this scripture says: but its also of a real meaning of a prostitute too.
And how God warns us to stay away and dont follow and get intwinded w such a woman.
Keep holy. Keep the truth. Keep faithful and obey God and what the man of God tells us to what the right path is….Jesus!
Thank u for letting me share in Jesus’ Name Amen.

    REVELATIONS 1:8
I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

  2. 25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

When we sin, our hearts decline from where the should be. All too often we miss the signs that we are backsliding, because we get so caught up in the fair speach, or raw emotions of everything around us. We must stay diligent for ourselves, and those around us that we stay from sin…

  3. 1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

By calling him son, he was showing that he had authority over him and by trying to keep him from the snares of life, it’s obvious that he loved him. We should listen to those that are trying to help us and learn from their wisdom, instead of having to learn by making the same mistakes.

    Hebrews 13:17 KJV
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

  4. Again, temptations of this world will lead you stray, they are portrayed here as a loose woman; but any sin will take you on the wrong path that only leads to death. This serves us as a warning, stay in the straight and narrow. Stay in Christ for everything done in darkness will one day come to the light for everyone to know. Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The choice is ours… I chose life in Christ Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

  5. So she seduced him with her pretty speech and enticed him with her flattery. He followed her at once, like an ox going to the slaughter. He was like a stag caught in a trap, awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart. He was like a bird flying into a snare, little knowing it would cost him his life. So listen to me, my sons, and pay attention to my words. Don’t let your hearts stray away toward her. Don’t wander down her wayward path. For she has been the ruin of many; many men have been her victims. Her house is the road to the grave. Her bedroom is the den of death. (Proverbs 7:21-27 NLT)
    Guard your hearts!!!!! LIVE!!!!!!!!!
The wages of sin is death!!!!!

  6. Dear friend, do what I tell you; treasure my careful instructions. Do what I say and you’ll live well. My teaching is as precious as your eyesight—guard it! Write it out on the back of your hands; etch it on the chambers of your heart. Talk to Wisdom as to a sister. Treat Insight as your companion. They’ll be with you to fend off the Temptress— that smooth-talking, honey-tongued Seductress. (Proverbs 7:1-5 MSG)

My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you; keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye; bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call insight your intimate friend, to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words. (Proverbs 7:1-5 ESV)

    Treasure wisdom
    Love understanding
    Guard yourself from temptations
    Keep God’s commands

  7. Wisdom is found in following after God and his Word. Satan decieves us with beauty and riches to lure us away from that wisdom. We can be truly happy when we get closer to God and further from this world and the pleasures of it.

  8. This is how great churches fall to false doctrine. They are lead astray by a idea or way that prostitutes the name if Jesus. They fill their eyes with good things instead of their hearts with Jesus. Let us not be prostitutes
Of this wonderful gospel, this truth that he has trusted us with. Let us protect it from the whores that would try to lead us astray. Let us commit ourselves daily to the holy separated walk of the lifestyle of being Apostolic Pentecostal. We are truly blessed to be living in the truth. Amen

  9. 1 Dear friend, do what I tell you; treasure my careful instructions. 2 Do what I say and you’ll live well. My teaching is as precious as your eyesight – guard it! 3 Write it out on the back of your hands; etch it on the chambers of your heart. 4 Talk to Wisdom as to a sister. Treat Insight as your companion. 5 They’ll be with you to fend off the Temptress – that smooth-talking, honey-tongued Seductress MSG

Guard what you are listening to, hanging around with and talking to. Guard your eyes on what you are looking at. Satan comes in many disguises so watch out for the traps that are set before us. It is wise for us to take instructions from our leaders and pastor.

  10. SANTO!!! SANTO!!! SANTO!!!
    HABLA PAPÀ!!!
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
HALELUJAH !!! YES LORD!!! JESUS MY SOUL CRIES ABBA PADRE!!! MI ALMA JIME ABBA PADRE!!! TE AMO O BENDITO REY!!!
In Verse 2, OBEDIENCE is simply explained……….. OBEDIENCE = LIFE!!! ITS ONLY AS HARD AS WE MAKE IT!!! IT IS POSSIBLE!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR WORD!!! YOU ARE SO FAITHFUL AND SINCE HE IS FAITHFUL WE SHOULD BE AS WELL!!! HALELUJAH !!! =D

  11. This Proverb used a man in the example, but the lesson is for both men and women. Ladies, we need to look for men who will honor our father and not just our bodies. We have to be watchful of the smooth talking here for a night kind of guys. Whether you are male or female you have to be careful of your relationships of the opposite sex. The devil will use anything and everything, so be mindful of the company you keep and the things you allow into your life.

  12. Verses 1-3 MSG:
    “Dear friend, do what I tell you;
    treasure my careful instructions.
Do what I say and you’ll live well.
My teaching is as precious as your eyesight—guard it!
    Write it out on the back of your hands;
etch it on the chambers of your heart.”

What a warning in this chapter. We must be mindful and follow the commands of the Lord. If we do so, we will live well, we will guard what is precious to us and keep it in our hearts. Temptation and sin comes to one and all, male or female; so, be watchful, be prayerful and full of Jesus at all times.

  13. This chapter illustrates obedience. One that refuses to be obedient and hear the warnings can be easily deceived; “Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  14. Proverbs 7:12
Now is she without, now is in the streets
And lieth and wait in every corner.

    Proverbs 7:26
For she hath cast down many wounded:yea
Many strong man have been slain by her.

    —– T E M P T A T I O N ——
    Everywhere !!!!!!
-Some small temp. Some big temp. But
    They are all WRONG-BAD
We are given the opportunity to do eather
Right or wrong all the time, eather we walk in the flesh or the spirit.
We are tempted many times in many ways
But the word of GOD says to conquer evil with good, it says that we are more than conquerors, it says that GODnwill not let us bare more that what we can, that he will give us when the temptation comes a way out……
So, we do not have an excuse;to fall into tempation is a choice. And we are Spirit led people, so the more we walk in the Spirit, the less attractive temptation will look to us
    ( all kinds of temp.)
They will not cause us to yield and all this come with time and determination with HIS SPIRIT guiding us, teaching us right from wrong.
    — GOD is good, he has been good and patienced to me, I am thankful and I can
See that the things that caused me to fall before, are not happening now….!and that nothing but God’s working in my life.
    WE NEED GOD’s mercy daily!!!!!!

THANFUL for last night’s service. GOD bless these men of GOD.

  15. What does it mean to say or be the apple of one’s eye? The first response is a term of endearment in reference to a loved one being precious. The literal definition is the “pupil” of one’s eye. However, the Bible states on several occasions where God’s people are the apple of His eye. I propose to the following scenario.

If we keep the original definition concerning the reference of the pupil of one’s eye it is a precious “tool” to us. For most people the eyes are used to coordinate most common functions we as humans perform; from brushing our teeth to performing brain surgery. A tool this useful needs protection.

The eye protects itself through dilation depending on light levels. When we leave a dark area and enter a brightly lit area our eyes need a moment to adjust the pupil to filter the excess brightness to allow focus. The same goes when leaving brightly lit areas. Another protection system is tears. Tears are deployed to keep the eye clear of foreign objects and general moisture levels. Another level of protection is the eye lids. These shields are used to protect the eye when danger is perceived, allow the time needed for the eye adjust to available light levels and clear the front of the eye of contaminants several times a minute by blinking. The final external protection device is the eye lashes. They serve as feeler guides to warn when foreign object become too close to the eye and assist in engaging the eye lid.

Now that is a lot of protection systems for such a small but powerful tool most people use more than any other feature to the human body. I believe God understands the importance of the eye to us as he developed these protection measures. I also believe he takes the same measure in protecting us (the apple of His eye) from harm.

  16. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Beware of the flattering words of the strange women becauae when she takes you home her house is the way to hell.

  17. She was the brash, rebellious type, never content to stay at home. (Proverbs 7:11 NLT)

The Word of God instructs women how are to conduct themselves with those around them.

Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way, and were good, loyal wives to their husbands. Sarah, for instance, taking care of Abraham, would address him as “my dear husband.” You’ll be true daughters of Sarah if you do the same, unanxious and unintimidated. (1 Peter 3:5, 6 MSG)

These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. (Titus 2:4, 5 NLT)

  18. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

By choosing this prinicple as a lifestyle application will cause us to grow in the wisdom and understanding necessary to live a successful christian life. It will also help us to grow in discernment of spirit., especially spiritually speaking. There are many “churches” calling out to people today to come and worship their way. Leave behind the commandments and principles of the Word and do their own thing and they can still make Heaven. But we need to base everything we say and do on the word of God. If God says to keep the commandments established in the Word of God thousands of years ago, His word has not changed. It remains the same yesterday, today and forever. We must still abide by the laws written their in.

  19. 2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Do we truly love God? I’m sure if the answer is yes then there should be no question in our minds if we should fallow the commandments or not. The law he has laid out for us is good, the path is a path of life and righteousness that leads to heaven. Although we all sin we have to be sure to get back up, God is merciful but we shouldn’t take advantage of his love. We should always strive to live the way he has commanded us to, it is for good reason. God hates sin and is trying to keep us from hell. Thank you Jesus hallelujah he cares more than anyone. It is so important to keep his word in our heart so that one day when we can’t turn tho the bible we would have enough word in our heart’s to keep us going through the hard times

  20. iLove the Word

Everyone Who Thinks You Are Strong…

26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

What are we doing to protect ourselves from strange women…What are we doing to protect ourselves from seducing spirits? What kinds of walls of defense are we building? Are we obedient in the smallest things? Can we be trusted in the smallest things? ARE WE ACCOUNTABLE?

  21. IT STARTED WITH A KISS

13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

This chapter is an illustration of seduction. There are some warning signs about seduction that we all need to heed.

    1. The time of the meeting. (9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:) darkness is a sign of evil. Jesus said in John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

    2. The woman’s attire identified what she was about, (10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.) obviously her attire was tight and revealing to allure the man.

    3. The woman’s attitude was boisterous and non submissive. (11 She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:) There will be no future in a relationship with a woman of such attitude.

    4. Here is the beginning of defeat. There are all around us darkness, seductively dressed women and bold, stubborn women. However the fall begins with a KISS. (13 So she caught him, and kissed him,) The time, attire and attitude all become more than the man can overcome, the kiss was the dagger in his spirit, he is now a slave to her.

    5. The KISS of death. (21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. 22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; 23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.)

Women your attire and attitude are so important to GOD. You are worth the WAIT and Worth the Commitment to MARRIAGE. Dress modestly and walk submissively.

Men do not wonder out in the dark; there will be a harlot on the corner to attract, kiss and seduce you to the place of death.

Another notable KISS in the bible.

Luke 22:48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

    Betrayal begins with a KISS.

    iPray
    iWork

    NOW

  22. 1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

For several chapters in proverbs the message is similar. It’s almost as if saying; listen close and pay attention to my counsel that you might not be hurt in the end. I will show you the way that when the strange woman/temptation/aluring sin-comes near, one you’ll be able to recognize and go not through her path but flee the other way. The word says that we will have a way out. The temptation will be there, but the sin will be a choice. I heard this from a preacher once; “choose to sin, choose to suffer” Time and time we are being told, the strange woman’s way will lead to death.
Verse 15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

Reminded me that satan is like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour

The strange woman, the temptation/sin, the deception, that satan wants you to fall for will be something pleasing to the eye, something that will allure you and cause you to question God’s word, His promises to you and try tì deceive you that what looks so good now is the blessing of God. It seems perfect! It looks good, possessions, rank, wealth, stability, charm, good looks, a great job with lots of money…but where will all this lead to? That’s why it says write them upon the table of thine heart…that we know the Word and therefore what His promises are for us. Remember when Abraham and Lot where gonna separate and choose where to go. Lot saw green pastures and what seem to be a great land…Abraham followed a “promise” a spoken Word from God. His words bring eternal life. Love Him, obey his commandments and we shall be blessed.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments…

He commands us to obey His word and statutes, to obey those in authority over us especially ministers, elders and our spiritual father.

  23. 19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

Wow, when I read this the thought came to mind how often do people live this way with Jesus? Everyone who says they are a christian knows Jesus has risen and will return but so many live how they want thinking they have time to get right. Truth is Jesus will return at the appointed time but no one on earth knows when that time is! If we choose to slip away and live in this world then we take the chance of running out of time or even our own lives may end early and we could not be ready. We must live like he is coming back at anytime because that appointed time could happen at anytime!

  24. 1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

  25. Proverbs 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; And my law as the apple of thine eye.
the apple of thine eye….The pupil, which is cared for and protected because of its great value ( see Deuteronomy 32:10 He found him in a desert land, And in the waste howling wilderness; He led him about , he instructed him, He kept him as the apple of his eye. “little man of his eye”, referring to the pupil, a delicate part of the eye that is essential for vision and that therefore must be protected at all costs.

  26. The enemy is like unto the strange woman. Simple in her words and sly with its goings. Looking very humble and yet extreamly dangereous. Let us be on the look out for this and keep one another in check.

  27. 1 My son, keep my words; lay up within you my commandments [for use when needed] and treasure them.
2 Keep my commandments and live, and keep my law and teaching as the apple (the pupil) of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. (AMP)

We must be obedient and keep our eyes on God. It is so dangerous to play with sin and let ourselves become distracted, especially in this day and age, thinking that we are strong enough to resist. Keep His words near and dear to you so when temptation comes you can turn to God for His strength and be an overcomer of the temptations of this world.

  28. Once again, another scripture of a great warning from Lust & Adultery. We should always maintain ourselves in a Godly manner. Remember, we ambassadors for Christ, and we are to do our best in representing him. So, let God’s Word, dwell in our hearts richly. Jesus said, blessed are those who do his word, not hearers only.

25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

    Don’t change your address…………

27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

    “Now”…………………………………………….

  29. 9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

In the shadow hidden from view the actions of men reflect the atmosphere. Character is shown by what someone will do when no one else is looking. We must guard our hearts, and minds from shadowy doings. Anything we are not willing to do in front of Jesus should never be done.

Michael Jr is a christian comedian who, without knowing God, chose to refuse to say cuss words when he was 14 yrs old. When he started doing comedy he was asked “Why don’t you cuss?” His response was “What if my grandma walked in?”

God wants us to live totally sold out to him, and not try and live a double life. How we live in a shadow with no one watching shows who we truly are.

  30. v9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

This tells me to run from the darkness to the HIS LIGHT. Do not entertain temptation.
” I submit myself therefore to GOD I resist the devil, and he flees from me. James 4:7

Eph.4:7″ I will not give place to the devil.

    iPray
    iPraise
    Now

  31. STOP!!! THINK!!!! DON’T DO IT!!!!

It will only bring about death and destruction to you and your family. Run from this suduction.

27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

  32. It’s nobody else’s fault but ours when we sin. It’s also nobody else’s responsibly to repent and turn away from sin than ours. I will choose to live in the will of God and follow His plan for my life and His commandments.

  33. So, friends, listen to me, take these words of mine most seriously. Don’t fool around with a woman like that; don’t even stroll through her neighborhood. Countless victims come under her spell; she’s the death of many a poor man. She runs a halfway house to hell, fits you out with a shroud and a coffin. (Proverbs 7:24-27 MSG)

Too many times this spirit clings onto ppl and it ends up destroying their walk with God… Don’t let it suck you in.

  34. 8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

If you go, you will be met…

Some people place the variable not on their decisions but on others’ actions when in reality, others’ actions can have a lot to do with our decisions. If you choose to go down a wrong path, do not be surprised when unpleasant repercussions meet you. You reap what you sow… we must ask, what am I sowing? We can’t just blame the path when we chose to walk it.

15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

If death can seek us, how much more could blessing seek us when every good and perfect gift comes from God? We are quick to believe in the bad, but what about being overtaken with the blessings from the spirit of Goshen? Is God not able to pour out a blessing that we couldn’t contain? Every day we get to choose, life or death, blessing or cursing; why not choose the path of blessing?

    It’s Due Season…

    I’m reminded of a song:

It’s my time for God’s blessing, it’s my time to be blessed

Step in, step in, step in and be blessed!

  35. The strange women will attempt to hide the truth from you. Praise be to God for giving us wisdom to see this.

  36. The Simple

The Hebrew word for simple here indicates a person who is “open”, who is vulnerable to influence, whether it be to the wise or the foolish. The aimless, foolish wanderer described here thoughtlessly and naively walks right into the snare of evil. It’s easy to do. The foolish walk along with their heads in the clouds and as the people as the apostle Peter reminds us in 1Peter 5:8, the devil is always prowling around looking for an easy target out of the Lord’s covering. In order to avoid wandering into the wrong spiritual neighborhoods at night, we need to move alertly and purposefully through life, aiming squarely at the goal of knowing and becoming like Jesus. Simple=Peculiar people (Deut 7:6; 14:2; 26:18; Ex 19:5; Titus 2:14; Mal 3:17; 1Pe 2:9).

Php 3:10I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

  37. The Lord wants us to use widom and common sense. The Lord wants us to obey him, to let his instruction be our greatest treasure. To write them in our mind.

Lord thank you for warning me, you want to protect me from evil and I have to listen and obey you Lord. Forgive me if I let you down in any way. All I want is to do your holy will Lord, I want to keep your instruction in my mind at all times.
