Proverbs 10

1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

27 The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

29 The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

  1. People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life, but those who ignore correction will go astray. Hiding hatred makes you a liar; slandering others makes you a fool. Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. (Proverbs 10:17-19 NLT)

  2. The Harvest is ready NOW!!!!

5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

As I walked through the Walmart in White Settlement with Sis. Bernardini, it made the fact that the harvest have been ready even more pressing. The Harvest have been ready and we have known that for a long time, what some failed to understand is that the laborers are few. I do not want to be the cause of shame on my Heavenly Father, we need to be about our Father’s business and labor with the Harvest. Lord give us the passion for the loss, impress their pains and desires in our hearts so we may hear their calling, and give us the boldness to proclaim You everywhere we Go.

  3. Watch out for a mouth talking:

We are in a world that has no curtious speaking out loud around believers.
We hear everything “ugly” under the sun.
    Why?
Dont know. Except that they have no righteousness in thier life.
I dont like to be around ugliness and being around holiness.
Im glad that my friend (holy) called me and asked me if i was going to pofw tommarrow(today) and i was so glad cause that was confirmation from the Lord that that’s where I need to be. I said “YEEAAH THANK YOU SIS” i will be there.
Holiness talk is the only way to get thru to this perverse generation.
Getting filled everyday w the Holy Ghost by speaking in a heavenly language being edified in our spirit.
Thank you Jesus for showing me the truth, way and life.

    1 CORINTHIANS 6:15
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

Thank you Lord that there is such a thing as a HOLY LIFE.

  4. 28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (Acts 2:17 KJV)

I pray that we shall see coins and dream dreams with no one losing their visions. Any vision away from pastor’s vision is division. If its a God vision them the visions will mesh! All things should be working together and making the church glad. If your vision causes division it causes death. If your vision is wicked, it will die. Let us all pray that we have God’s/Pastor’s vision so that it will happily come to pass.

  5. Proverbs 10:19 When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise,

James further added added : If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless, James 1:26

  6. v 16 The labor of the righteous tenderh to life; the fruit of the wicked to sin.

Our labour for the LORD is not in vain. HE will reward those who diligently labour for HIS Purpose . To GOD be all the glory and honor.

  7. 7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

    If we are just and kind to people, they will remember us kindly;
but the memories of the wicked will be a stench in their nostrils and they will try to forget even their name.

    Psalm 109:15-16 KJV
15 Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

  8. This chapter illustrates understanding. There is an abundance of advice provided. One can find understanding in the Word of God, if one will seek; “The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  9. TRUE LOVE

12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

People who always find themselves in conflict, quarrels or strife will find that there is covered hatred birthed from pride and jealousy.

    The MSG version:
12 Hatred starts fights, but love pulls a quilt over the bickering.

LOVE is displayed to humanity by JESUS through “FORGIVENESS”

The believer is a stronger more faithful disciple through forgiving others than by carrying the weight of a grudge.

The word covereth in verse 12 means to conceal or hide. We better example JESUS when we FORGIVE and conceal when we are wronged rather than pointing the finger and telling how we were wronged.

Salvation is a means of covering our past sin. When we are Baptized in the name of JESUS, his LOVE for us through HIS blood shed on the CROSS for us covers every sin. THANK GOD FOR THE BLOOD.

We express the nature and likeness of JESUS when we example the same.

James 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

1Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

    NOW

  10. 5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Will we sleep through this harvest?! Will we bring shame to our father?? We know the fields are white and ready to be harvested those who heard Sister Bernadini teach and had the privilege to learn from her in a real environment have the knowledge. We know how to do it it’s a matter of getting up and doing it!!! Hope hard is it to talk to someone and invite them to church, we invite our families all the time. But if you think about it every person is somebody’s mom or Dad, Brother or Sister. For those of us who’s families aren’t in church, wouldn’t you want someone to win their souls? So why not put forth the effort to win someone else’s family?! Let’s not being shame, let’s be wise! Let’s reap what has been sown!!! The souls are hungry and need Jesus!! IT’S HARVESTING TIME!!!! HALLELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

  11. 5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Success is defined by what we do in the season we are in.

  12. 10-10
Winks maliciously is to spread gossip or to attack to cause hurt. The pain caused by vindictive or disparaging remarks stands in contrast to the positive impact of words spoken by the righteous which are a fountain of life. VS.11-21
THE LIPS OF THE RIGHTEOUS NOURISH MANY.

  13. ILove to eat the word

19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. (Proverbs 10:19 NLT)

Help us Jesus to obey these scriptures!

  14. Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth NIV

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work , neither should he eat . 2 Thessalonians 3:10
Teach your children how to work and take care of themselves. Don’t let your children grow up thinking they shouldn’t work and people should hand them whatever they want.
We also don’t want to be lazy in our relationship with God. God desires our praise and yearns to hear from us on a daily basics.

  15. Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirreth out strifes:but love covereth all sins.
    10:14
Wise men lay up knowledge:but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
    10:19
    I. The multitude of words there wanteth not sin:but he that refreineth is lips is wise.
    10:31
The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom:but the froward tongue shall
    Be cut off.
    ——–
The unwise, foolish, stoborn person will open his mouth without first thinking about it.
    – it’s better to keep our time shut!!!wather we are right or not; it’s BETTER….. It’s better to let GOD handle some situations, some people than us doing it, in the proses we should learn the probers and be wise
    In Jesus name!!!!.

  16. 12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

Love is the key that enables us to forgive. Love grants one of the greatest blessings which is freedom; freedom from bitterness, from hatred from anger from guilt. Love allows you to pardon/forgive the past. It helps you forgive others and forgive yourself. But how can one have this kind of love and forgive?? We first must recognize our need for Love, our need to be filled with Love, with His Holy Spirit, God in us. It is through His love that we are able to forgive. The best things is that it’s free to us a gift. Love knocks at the door of your heart every day. Will you let Love in? That in itself is a great blessing, it makes us rich and adds joy not sorrow.

  17. He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

The disciplines and work ethics are referenced in this verse. If we are slothful in our actions/work we will lose things that are precious t us, and become poor. Not just financially but spiritually, emotionally, physically/ But the hand of the diligent, those that take care and concern maketh not only their bones rich, but their life, their spiritual life, their emotions, all things rich in the Lord.

  18. Harvest of wisdom.

14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

When we lay up thing , we are putting things on hold for a later date. If wisdom is knowledge put into action ; then the wise man has already learned and when he learns more will store that for a later date. Kind of like when we make money, we put some aside in a bank for a later date to use. As a statement that was said to me when I was younger, learn as much as you can from those who have lived in the past. If we know what has happened in the past, then the only way history can repeat itself is when we allow the same mistakes to be made. Harvest means there has to be planting, watering, fertilizing, and waiting, then growth, and then finally harvest. THis means we have to plant the seed to learn. That means don’t run from every word that is spoken when an elder speaks. Glen on what the opprotunity will allow to learn. This is the Harvest of Wisdom

  19. Legacy Of Reputation

7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

In thinking on outreach with Sis Bernardini, I ask what memories do we leave with people? Not just family and friends but strangers? What if strangers were to come together and describe you?

Were you friendly? Distracted? Courteous? Rushed? Did they feel valued by you? Did you make their day brighter or darker? Did they feel like you saw them, or looked past them like so many others?

Is the memory of us blessed? Or do we bring rot to the name of Christ?

    John 10:25
Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

  20. HALELUJAH!!! JESUS!!!
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
LORD LET EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH FROM MY MOUTH BE INSPIRED BY YOUR HOLY SPIRIT!!!
FROM THE ABUNDANCE OF MY HEART I DO SPEAK!!! JESUS!!! JESUS!!! JESUS!!! YOU ARE ALL I WANT DADDY!!! I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR I NEED THEE OOOOO MY JESUS!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU DADDY FOR THE PEACE THAT SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING!!! HALELUJAH!!! YOU ARE MIGHTY!!! YOU ARE GREAT!!! JESUS, MY FIRST LOVE!!!

  21. Verse 8 MSG “A wise heart takes orders; an empty head will come unglued.”

Same verse NLT “The wise are glad to be instructed, but babbling fools fall flat on their faces.”

Same verse AMP “The wise in heart will accept and obey commandments, but the foolish of lips will fall headlong.”

Once again, be receptive in taking orders, being instructed, accept and obey His commandments.

  22. 2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Having a good foundation and understanding of morals is good for any Christian.

  23. 8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

    Much Ado about nothing.

There was a movie that i saw while I was in high school, called “Much Ado About Nothing”. It was a take on a Shakespear play. The people in the play ran around like a bunch of busy bodies, only concerned with their physical desires, and lusts, and cared nothing about anything other than the very much here and now. They galavanted around not caring about the past or their futures, just their current desires.

The word ado means to talk, or chatter
The word prate is very similar meaning meaningless chatter, talking foolishly, or talking at exhaustive lengths about something.

We must be mindful when we are talking with our guests, and the friends that we invite, because while we may be meaning no harm, we might just be setting ourselves up for a fall…

  24. When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation. (Proverbs 10:25 NLT)

  25. The Lord blesses thos that obey and use common sense. The wicked who persue dishonesty and contemplate evil will face death on the long run.

Lord guide me to righteousness and lead me to do your holy will. I want to be what you want me to be Lord.

  26. Shut up and Listen!

31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

I you can’t keep your mouth shut long enough to hear not only the wise to instruct but for God to speak, your asking for a Death sentence. You will never grow, you will never learn, you will never see
Allow your mouth to be closed! He will only speak when you stop talking. There is no point in battling with someone who will not take the time to listen

  27. Ultimate Prospects

vs28 ..”The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.”

People who don’t love God sometimes enjoy wealth and “things” here on earth; they may even become convinced that it is worth investing their all in this temporal life. However the Bible repeatedly states that even the most prosperous, satisfied, godless people will be disappointed in the end. They will realize too too late that their hope is misplaced, that is if they don’t take the walk of salvation and stay on it til His coming (Ps 49:12-14; Pr 11:7). Godly people, on the other hand, can rejoice in the fact that no matter what their earthly life holds, whether it be destitution or abundance, their ultimate prospects are bright. Jesus himself promised, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Mt 5:3) and “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled” (Mt 5:6).
