Ecclesiastes 4

1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.

Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.

Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit.

Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun.

There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

13 Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.

14 For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.

15 I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his stead.

16 There is no end of all the people, even of all that have been before them: they also that come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

  1. Lonely people~

It says that in this chptr that its better to have someone with you TO STAND to help you STAND UP than doing the STANDING by yourself. Church always has people to help you stand and balance your life by concerns for your salvation and they will stand for a person when you arent strong enouph, by prayer and fasting. They have alot of love for that person who is travailing.
I live a far away from pofw but I can say that they have taught me how to Stand on my own with God’s Word all on my own. I’m thankful so I wont move anymore (farther than where I am).
I have kept all my sermon notes from the pastor and visiting pastors and I never forget what The 1st Lady has told me either and Sarah Gully and sisters in the church ( I can name about a handcul of prayer warriors ) And I thank the God of all gods for that.

So just make a stand and everything/everyone will stand too.

    MATTHEW 5: 19
Whosoever therefore shall break one of least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

As the song says “Let my life be the proof of Your(Jesus) love.”
Thank you for letting me Jesus be a part of the kingdom of God at a far away land.

  2. 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

We have got to work together in unity to defeat the enemy. If he can get us separated with discord, he has a better chance at defeating us.

    Proverbs 6:16-19 KJV
16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

    Bind us together Lord
    Bind us together
With cords that cannot be broken.
    Bind us together Lord
    Bind us together Lord
    Bind us together with love.

  3. ‘One is a lonely number…’

This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But then he asks himself, “Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now?” It is all so meaningless and depressing. Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:8-12 NLT)
There are times that we feel the need for ‘ me time’. But that can only last so long. Being alone and sheltering yourself from others can lead you astray from God, from your family, then from the church. Your strength is no longer there, your armour has been put down, your vision is blurred, you can no longer move, you’ve lost your passion, your fire, your being.
This is all a trap of the enemy, he desires for you to disconnect with the Body. His desire is to completely destroy the very being GOD has intended for you to be. You can no longer reach for the lost, your purpose in life is gone!!
This is why I need you my brother, I need you my sister. There is strength in numbers.

It’s what happens when we come together as ONE. Aside from GOD and the Body I (we) can do nothing.

Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand! All your enemies will fall beneath your sword. (Leviticus 26:8 NLT)
Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25 AMP)
    POFW…. I need you!!!!!!
    Love you ALL!!

  4. Friends.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

I have been thinking quite a bit about how God has blessed me with many friends. It has been said that the more friends you have in church, the harder it is for you to leave. Well, first no one should leave on their own accord, and two, if they do leave look at their friends. You can tell alot about someone with the friends that they hangout with the most. When we fall, as this verse says, our friends are the ones that we should be able to trust to help us back up, and not push us deeper in the mud. So now the question is, who are your friends? Are they there when you need them, or are they soooo busy thaht they never have time for you. In a friendship it takes two people giving of themselves to make it work. “This is why friends make good spousies,” my mom told me many times in life. The greatest friend that anyone could ever want is God. He always is listening, he loves, and he will tell you when your wrong. THis is why we can be the bride of Christ, because we are friends.

  5. HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
THANK YOU JESUS FOR MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST!!! BLESSINGS THEY ARE TO MY LIFE!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! THANK YOU JESUS FOR THE GREAT LEADERSHIP OF POFW!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! THANK YOU JESUS FOR MY PASTOR AND MY FIRST LADY!!! AWESOME SERVANTS OF THE MOST HIGH GOD!!! GOD IS DOING GREAT THINGS IN POFW!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!
    GRACIAS REY PRECIOSO!!!

  6. 4:1so I turned and concidered all the oppressions that are done under the sun:and be hold the tears of such that were oppressed and they had no confertor :and on the other side of the oppressors there was power; but they had no confertor.
    ———-
I once was oppressed, I once shed tears like I have never done before and they were not tears of joy, they were tears of loneliness, oppression, abuse, sadness and else …….
I thank GOD for my church, I thank GOD for those ladies who take their time to comfort my heart, and gave me a word from The Lord.
—– But now, I have the best confertor of all, the confertor who knows everything about me, when I am sad, lonely or desperate about something. The confertor who will never leave me nor fur sake me.
“THE HOLY SPIRIT IF GOD”, now as I have been comforted I must comfort others, I must seek for those in need just like I was, not that I am not anymore but you understand.
    —- GOD has been good……
    PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!

  7. So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

I thank God for my Comforter!!! It is sad when people that have the Holy Ghost power within don’t use it. We have the power when the feelings of oppression come from pressures of life, to find scripture and use it, or speak those things we know against that spirit so life is not robbed from us by attitude and actions.

We must exhibit the true joy of the Lord at all times so we can be the beacon of light and hope to those that are oppressed and have no power. We must be different. We must be alive. We must be vibrant. We must be JOYFUL. All these are attributes of the power of the Holy Ghost within.

We can’t let the power lie dormant. We must use the power within that God has given to us to it’s fullest ability.

When people get together in the Spirit of Unity, there is no telling what is going to happen.

“I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:19, 20 NLT)

    God is serious about unity.
How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. (Psalms 133:1, 2 NLT)

Lets walk together in peace and watch The Lord do great things!

  10. Lets hope this post today! been having trouble with the blog.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor.
4:10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

This verse couldn’t be more true! Its never good to isolate yourself from others in the body of Christ, especially when you’re going through a trial. I know that I cherish and love my true friends. God is so good!

  11. L I F E

1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

This chapter reminds me of so many of the the individual peoples L I F E, that I have observed through serving in the Ministry. Again we find the definition and examples of “vanity”.

Lonely, selfish, jealous, arrogant people find themselves chasing the wind and catching nothing. Power, perfection and performance are attained through UNITY.

9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

If we will STAND together with the Vision of the LORD through The Pentecostals of Fort Worth, we will STAND victorious. DO NOT allow division in any form come into your heart, toward Leadership, Disciple or even any guest of The POFW. GOD is UP to SOMETHING.

Do not allow LIFE to distract you, discourage you or disconnect you from the your purpose of fulfilling the call and will of GOD in your LIFE.

  12. This chapter illustrates perception. The window the Lord (Jesus) looks through is often different, than the one humans look through; “But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear”. One can find evil just as one can find good, the key however is what one is looking for; “Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  13. In this scripture is another example of vexation of spirit, or vanity. It is also, a warning of not walking through this life alone. It, is another example of how blessed we are to have Jesus Christ at our side. He said, he would never leave us nor forsake us.

9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Remember he is the resurrection! So, he can lift you up when your are down!

    “Be Blessed”……………………………………..

  14. 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

It is better to have someone on our side, that’s why making friends with people who have the same beliefs and outlook on life as you is good. We can’t fight battle alone, it’s good to have someone who’s got your back

  15. Oppression is one of the dark facts of life under the sun. We can see it politically, corporately, individually. We cannot escape it. We turn on the news, read the paper, and find story after story of the suffering of the innocent
Solomon looks at 2 parts in life the oppressed and the oppressors both are comfortless one is being beat down and one is trying to get comfort by power it will never happen. No matter how much power money trucks thing we have it won’t bring comfort only through Christ comfort will com

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8 KJV)

The Holy Ghost which is God is the only one who can truly make someone feel safe

  16. 9-10 It’s better to have a partner than go it alone.
Share the work, share the wealth.
And if one falls down, the other helps,
But if there’s no one to help, tough!
11 Two in a bed warm each other.
    Alone, you shiver all night.
    12 By yourself you’re unprotected.
With a friend you can face the worst.
Can you round up a third?
    A three-stranded rope isn’t easily snapped. MSG

I guess my gatherings from the chapter today goes towards the Fusion Couples:
We as couples need to learn to rely on each other if your husband/wife falls stop and pick him/her up. Don’t rely on someone else to take your place. Your wife/husband needs you. When you are both joined together and working together things go smoother. As it is stated a three stranded rope cannot be snapped…..wife plus husband plus GOD will carry a marriage far. Don’t go to bed angry with your spouse work out the problems pray about the problems and let God be the center of your marriage. I’m thankful that God gave me a hard working and God fearing husband and dad to our girls. Thank God daily for your spouse.

  17. v3 yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been , who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

This verse reminds me of the prophet Jeremiah . He gives us tremendous insight he wished he had died than to face all the problems. Some problems make you want weep instead of shout.

Cold and weak church are graves of conceived spiritual babies. We have no choice we have to have revival . The church has to be spiritually strong.
( weakness always comes before spiritual death) i choose to live.
I… We. .. cannot let our souls get cold and set our eyes on the things of this world but, contribute our strength to the church.
LORD… Give us spiritual strength !

Thank you JESUS for continual revival and notable miracles at POFW.

  18. V1

The oppressed had no comforter. It’s great that we have Gods spirit to comfort us. I can’t imagine a life without his comfort.

V4-8 hard work and a modest quite life is better than that of excess driven by jealous competitive work.

V9-12 unity! It’s harder to take down the pack than to take us down one by one.

  19. 1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

I am comforted in the Lord

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; -John 14:16

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. -John 14:18

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. -John 14:26

  20. vs 9-12 We are in this together. We have each other to lift us up when we are down. This is another reason not to forsake the assembling of the saints. We gain power and encouragement by coming together.

  21. Unified

Jesus sent his disciples out by twos. This is the case today. God never intended us to go through this journey alone. He has given us a wonderful family, and support to help us all the way home.

We have protection, direction, encouragement, and help, and God placed it all within the church.

When we unify we will be unstoppable. The man of God prophesied about a 1,000 seat church, and multiple smaller churches. Unity is the key to the Pentecostals of Fort Worth executing the will of God in this city.

The tower of Babel’s work was halted, and God confused the languages. He said that there was nothing that they could not do in unity. How much more can the church do as it works hand-in-hand to reach the lost in this city.

  22. Sometimes Solomon sounds so lonely. I suppose being so wise AND being the King greatly limited his social circle. His comments show he understands how being alone is very hard on a person. Lonliness breeds discouragement but with someone close to you there is encouragement as well as help. God knew exactly what he was doing when he created the institution of marraige: its not good for man to be alone. I thank the Lord for my husband! He probably knows me better than I know myself! 🙂

  23. What are friends for?

I observed yet another example of something meaningless under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 4:7-12 NLT)

As Christians we have a mission to fulfill the Great Commission- Go Teach & baptize(Matthew 28:19, 20). True discipleship is not only the personal touch but also the follow-up. We must travail until Christ is formed in them (Gal 4:19). Its difficult for one to stay on the straight and narrow alone. They need a friend or two would be even better.

There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other. (John 15:13-17 NLT)

  24. 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

The reward for unity… We can accomplish greater and more things being unified. A house decided amongst itself cannot stand, a kingdom devised cannot stand either. The secret behind unity is Love. I get to think of love as an intimate relationship. It is a bond a flow going in one direction. As the church, we are the body of Christ. We represent His Love. The most pure love. Love is selfless and it does not seek its own. Love says how can I serve you? Unity is a fruit of love. We need each other, we are all unique with different functions. We can accomplish a lot more together. We can work better with our eyes, skillfully with our hands, faster with our feet, attentively with our ears…we need each other. Taking the focus of “self” to see the big picture the entire body what God is doing will allow us to bind together in Love…. We all one thing that we can agree on for sure; we all want to go to heaven and be forever in the glory of God. Let’s step aside and look at the big picture. That is our goal

  25. Verses 9-10 MSG “It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there’s no one to help, tough!” Many times, this is where the problem may come about. Some people don’t like to actually do the work, they only want to share in the wealth. If they are the ones to fall, they expect you to help; but, when you fall the so called friend is no where to be found. Be a good partner or a good friend as we would want someone to be to us.

Verse 12 MSG “By yourself you’re unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn’t easily snapped.” The more we bind together, the stronger the rope (we are).

  26. Agreement

8 There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he hath neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither saith he, For whom do I labour, and bereave my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.

    Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Those that are agreed will find themselves walking together. Agreement requires a unity of vision, and that unity starts in prayer. Prayer is not about getting God lined up with us but us lined up with God, and when we all seek God individually and line up with Him, we will find ourselves lining up with each other because of our common agreement.

    Psalm 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

    2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

The anointing runs down through unity, but starts at the head, which is Christ. Pursuing agreement with Christ means pursuing the right flow in our individual walk with God. We each have individual responsibility in our walk with God so corporately we walk together as the unified body of Christ. There is a flow of the Spirit that is coming to take over this city, now is the time to make sure we are positioned in agreement with the giving of this divine flow. Prayer, fasting, the Word, obedience, giving, sacrifice, all these are elements that help keep the flow in our lives, in our church, and in our city. Our personal battle today could mean someone’s salvation tomorrow. We must be in agreement with Christ, and walk together in unity.

    Revelation 22:1
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

  27. 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

We must stop looking at our brothers and sisters in Christ a competition, and instead look at them as teammates. Someone who is there help us when we need it. If we start working together and not against each other the number of souls we will win for Christ will be greater then if we all work as separate units.

  28. 2 Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive.

    Due Credit

We must give credit where it is due. We must thank all the men and women who went to battle, willing to lay their lives down for you and me to have the privilege to worship God freely. We must consider all those men and women who have gone before us in the gospel, laying their lives down so that the Word of God might go forth to hurting souls. We must be thankful for all the great men and women of God who daily lay their personal agendas aside so that we might be able to learn more about His word, and His love for us. Jesus said, “Whoever loses his life for my name’s sake shall gain it…”

All too many times, as people, we allow ourselves to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and what we want, and what we need, and neglect to lay our desires aside that we might ask God what His desires are, that we might do for Him. Paul said, “I die daily.” We too should die daily, and seek after the face of God, instead of His hand. When we truly seek His face, we will lay our fleshly desires aside and we’ll get to see Him do the miraculous.

  29. 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

We should all have that friend that is going to keep us in line with the plan of God. Sometimes things are hard to do alone, but with another holding you accountable, you have a better chance.

  30. ILove to eat the Word

    “A Mouth Full”

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.

Lord help us to keep our mouths closed!

  31. In verse 1 Solomon said twice that oppressed have “no comforter” and it would be true if we were looking at life through the deceptive eyes of the enemy. The enemy wants to make you believe no one cares, and no one is going to save you. If he used his gift of wisdom, and held fast to the God given promise that from the line of David would come the Redeemer of our souls, Jesus. We do in fact have a comforter, the Holy Spririt, Jesus’ new covenant and gift to us today.

9-12 talks about lonliness, godly friends are important, for iron sharpens iron. We are told not to forsake the assembly, and if you isolate yourself, its hard to assemble. Don’t get backed into the corner by the enemies deceptive lies and hold on to God’s promises, focus and follow God and you will never have to ‘wonder’

  32. 9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

  33. Pairing

9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

From the beginning God has made it known that man should not be alone. To become one there must be two. Male and female, masculine and feminine. One is not complete without the other.

  34. Frostbite anyone?

For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:10-12 KJV)

Many times you hear the part of these verses when if someone falls or the three strand cord. I want to talk about the have heat. It is imperative for a person to have heat to live. If someone runs out of body heat then they get hypothermia. Hypothermia is where your body begins to take the blood from the extremities (arms and legs and stuff) and keep it more concentrated to the vital organs (lungs, heart, brain). This in turn allows your body to kill off part of itself so that the rest of your body will live. People such as hunters and hikers have been huddling hog ether for heart for a while.

You can apply this heat method to your walk with God as well. When you are by yourself, who is going to help you see if you are in fire for God? Who is going to help you repent and get spiritually warm again if the frostbite of this world has began to sink in. We need each other for a helping hand up, heat, and a fight. When we “try”to do our best we just need a little More help !
