Ecclesiastes 7

1 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.

It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.

Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.

Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

10 Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.

11 Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.

12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.

13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?

14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.

15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.

16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself ?

17 Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?

18 It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.

19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.

20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

21 Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee:

22 For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.

23 All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.

24 That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out?

25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:

26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

27 Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:

28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.

29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

  1. 8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

Lord I pray that you will always allow me to be patient in spirit. Notice I did not say give me patience, because tribulation worketh patience. I really do not want any more tribulation! But bring me what I need to be ready in the end.

God hates pride so I hate pride. My prayer today and everyday is to be ready to meet God at the end of the journey.

    Prepare to meet thy God!!!

  2. God knows all things. So why do I try so hard? Let God help He is a big God just go to him.
    Thank u Lord.

  3. ALL HAVE SINNED: THEREFORE REPENT

20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

We live in a society of justification. People are continually using their GOD given gifts and talents to excercise the mercies of GOD and build a case of justification for themselves. The greatest challenge to humanity is to admit a wrong, too many people are caught up in justifying their wrong or take responsibility for their own sinful acts.

We are witnessing the formation of a society that feels as if they can live their life without “NEED” of GOD.

    *NO NEED to Pray
*NO NEED to Submit to Leadership
*NO NEED to Study GOD’s WORD
*NO NEED to Participate in functions of the Church body. (The BODY of CHRIST)

This mentality has produced a people that do not think they need GOD.

    The TRUTH is:

    EVERYONE DESPERATELY NEEDS JESUS

The New Covenant supports the passage above in

    Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

NOW is the time to recognize OUR DESPERATE NEED of JESUS and REPENT of every sin, everyday REPENT of things we may not be aware of that we have done.

    iRepent
    iPray
    iPraise
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

7.5 it is better to hear the rebuke of the wise
Than for a man to hear the song of fools.
    –AMEN!
7:8better is the end of a thing than the
begining thereof: and the patience in spirit better than the proud in spirit.
    — why the end will be better? Because the wise since the beggining determented not to argue back or give his opinion, just listen,
Be patienced and let GOD handle it. Big or litle
    In Jesus name..

  5. 14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.KJV

    On a good day, enjoy yourself;
On a bad day, examine your conscience.
God arranges for both kinds of days
So that we won’t take anything for granted. MSG

We should always be thankful for the good things which come from the hand of God, we should be thankful and use them wisely. No matter what happens, no matter what life has to offer we must remember God is in control. God works for the ones who love him. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.KJV

  6. ILove to eat the Word

8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

This is an awesome Word for The Pentecostals of Fort Worth. God is fixing to open the windows of heaven because of our patience and the end will surely be better then the beginning.

  7. v9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

The word anger is just one letter short of the word danger. So don’t lose control.

Proverbs 14:17 NIV A quick tempered man does foolish things.

Proverbs 29:11 “A fool uttereth all his mind ”

So we must be careful with our actions and our words . We risk losing respect and way more than that, and also our words can come back to bite us
So it’s best to keep our distance from angry people they are contagious. Pro. 22:24

  8. This chapter illustrates perspective. One’s view can make one suppose they are wise. Whereas God’s view is wise; “Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  9. 13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?

HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!! No one can change or stop what God has set in motion! He is the all powerful all seeing all mighty God and I’m happy to be his daughter, his servant! Thank you Jesus !! I know the plans he has set for me for you for this church are already in motion and nothing can change that! God is awesome and I’m glad to see the work he has done. Lets never try make strait what God has made crooked because everything is with purpose. Lets just take it and praise God!!!!!!!!!

  10. 15-18
Moderation is the ethical watchword. It dosent pay to be wicked. It dosent pay to br overly righteous either. If ee look for our reward in life hes right. If we look for it later he couldnt be more wrong.

  11. 23 All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.

I pray the Lord will bless me with knowledge to understand the difference and never give up in persuing it.

  12. 9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

When we are angry we talk like there’s no tomorrow. As was said last blog fools talk too much. This is why we must be cautious in what we allow in our minds. Don’t get mad get glad.

  13. Sorrow’s Better Than Laughter?

In what sense is sorrow better than laughter? How can a “sourpuss face” help the heart? Solomon says that true joy only comes as we honestly face the facts: Death is inevitable; life is brief; most human pleasure is fickle and fleeting. But as we let those realities touch us, we have the opportunity to discover what is eternal, what cannot be taken from us because it is a good gift from God. The sadness encouraged here is not a contradiction of the encouragment in Proverbs 15:30 that joy is good for the heart and body; rather, it is an invitation to explore what the real source of joy is. Paul knows the answer.

Ro 5: 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

2 Cor 4:16 16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

  14. 3 Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

Sadness is better than laughter bc it makes the heart grow. The tears in our hearts are healed with love. The more sorrow, the better the heart is after the healing of Christ.

I thank God for my emotional suffering. It has made me who I am today.

  15. In vs. 25, applying ones heart to know a matter, search or seek out wisdom. Remember, “Seek and you shall find”.

  16. Grace

20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

We all have needs, which means we all have opportunity for God to show up and show Himself mighty.

    2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

    Hebrews 4:15-16
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

God’s grace, or favor, is the answer to our weaknesses. Lives surrendered before God open the door for grace to saturate and overwhelm weaknesses and allow for transformation. We all have fallen short of the glory of God, but grace means opportunity for a brighter future. Part of surrender is trust, meaning trust or faith in the truth of God’s Words; if God says it’s not over, it’s not over. No matter how it looks or feels, God’s truth trumps perception. Choosing to walk by faith helps to allow grace to touch every part of our lives.

God’s grace is sufficient but will we come to receive it?

  17. V13 What God made straight who can round and what God made round who can make straight. God has his word and calling that will never change.
Ecclesiastes 8:17 then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover its meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it.

  18. HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!
5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.
YES!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!! THANK YOU DADDY FOR PASTOR WATTS AND FIRST LADY!!! GREAT LEADERS O LORD YOU HAVE PLACED IN MY LIFE!!! THANK YOU FOR WISE COUNSEL!!! HALELUJAH !!!

  19. 10 Don’t long for “the good old days.”
    This is not wise. (NLT)

Reflecting on your past, isn’t always a bad thing. Recalling where God has brought you from can serve as a reminder of the grace and mercy he has shown you. But don’t reflect to long because the devil will try to deceive you and tempt you back into a life that only served the flesh and not the our spirit. Even God warns us…”” But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” (Matthew 7:14)

  20. Verse 14 MSG “On a good day, enjoy yourself; On a bad day, examine your conscience. God arranges for both kinds of days So that we won’t take anything for granted.”

Same verse NLT “Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life.”

Same verse CEV “When times are good, you should be cheerful; when times are bad, think what it means. God makes them both to keep us from knowing what will happen next.”

Many try to give the devil credit for when they have a bad day; but, think again……God’s about to do something……. he needs us to be at attention, on deck and ready to receive what’s next.

  21. 20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

We all fall short of the glory of God. I repent and thank God everyday for His grace and mercy.

    Lamentations 3:22-23
It is of the Lord ‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning:great is thy faithfulness.

  22. Watch and listen

5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

If you are to take the time an learn from the mistakes of others you are bound to not fumble in the same spot but to stand around with people who do nothing/endure anything you will be wasting valuable time with wishy washy meaningless words.

I want to learn, not be turned astray by countless ignorant people.

  23. 14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.
