Song of Solomon 7

1 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.

Thy navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor: thy belly is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies.

Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins.

Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fishpools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bathrabbim: thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus.

Thine head upon thee is like Carmel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries.

How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!

This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes.

I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples;

And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak.

10 I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me.

11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages.

12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.

13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.

  1. 1 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.

How great is our creator, we are {the work of the hands of a cunning workman}.
I do not believe it could be said any better about the God of creation.
The God of creation looked at his work and said it is good Genesis 1:31.

  2. 12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.

    Psalm 63:1 KJV
    O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

  3. ETERNAL ATTRACTION

1 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.

The title which Jesus Christ here gives to the church is new: O prince’s daughter! agreeing with:

(Psalms 45:13 The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold).

where she is called the king’s daughter. She is so in respect of her new birth, born from above, begotten of God, and his workmanship, bearing the image of the King of kings, and guided by his Spirit. She is so by marriage; Christ, by betrothing her to himself, though he found her mean and despicable, has made her a prince’s daughter. She has a princely disposition, something in her truly noble and generous; she is daughter and heir to the prince of the kings of the earth. If children, then heirs. Now we have explanation,

Her feet are here praised; the feet of Christ’s ministers are beautiful in the eyes of the church

(Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!),

and her feet are here said to be beautiful in the eyes of Christ. How beautiful are thy feet with shoes! When believers, being made free from the captivity of sin

(Acts 12:8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. ),

stand fast in the liberty with which they are made free, preserve the tokens of their enfranchisement, have their feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, and walk steadily according to the rule of the gospel, then their feet are beautiful with shoes; they tread firmly, being well armed against the troubles they meet with in their way. When we rest not in good affections, but they are accompanied with sincere endeavors and resolutions, then our feet are beautified with shoes.

The feet being the lowest part of the body are adored by our savior as we “CARRY” HIS gospel. “WALK IT OUT”!

    • We never waste anything when we give it to the LORD, lay it at HIS FEET.
Thank you Pastor & ministers for keeping HIS story alive in our memories.
      TRUTH… To save our souls.
We must never forget HIS GOSPEL.

  4. This chapter illustrates desire. Their desire was consuming. If one gives oneself to God (Jesus) all will follow; “Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

    “The Power of Hair”

Your head is as majestic as Mount Carmel, and the sheen of your hair radiates royalty. The king is held captive by its tresses. (Song of Songs 7:5 NLT)

We see once again the power of hair with this statement, “the King is held captive by its tresses.”

To hold the King captive is to have power.

  6. A Journey the Countryside

11-13 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves. The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.

How often has the Lord called us to take a journey to the countryside and we did not go. How many times has he called us to into a deeper place of pray while praying and we didn’t enter. Jesus said in Matthew 23:37:

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.” (NLT)

It makes me wonder what I would have been protected from had I only listened to his call to gather near. What pain and heartache I would have been shielded from, if I would have just listened. Some are trails could have been easily avoid, but what about the small stuff. The stuff that didn’t seem like a big deal and still don’t seem like a big deal , but could have very well changed my entire life? I don’t want to be guilty of gathering near the Lord when he knows what lies ahead and his only objective is to shield me from the danger that is coming.

  7. 10 I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me.

    My Beloved (pt5)

WOW! Just to be able to call Jesus my beloved. Just to know that His desire is toward me. WOW! As we read about the crucifiction we see the pain and the agony that He went though for us, As we read the Old Testiment we read for His great power and grandure. As we read through the epistles, we see how he desires us to be, but it is in Songs of Solomon, that we are able to get to read of how detailed and how much He thinks of us.

He desires us to be so intament with Him that He would be able to highlight our most intimate of details, knowing that it makes our heart skip beats when He does. When we take the time to listen and seek His face, He can take our breath away with the wonderful things that He can say about our lives.

  8. I am my lover’s. I’m all he wants. I’m all the world to him!
Beautiful love…. All for you and I. No selfish love going on. ‘ I’ll do this for you….only if you do this for me”. That’s kind of how the world thinks ” true love” is. Not so!
True Love can only be found In our Lord Jesus Christ.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13 KJV)

  9. 12 Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.

It is said that you can tell the health of the vineyard by going into it early and inspecting the vines, the buds and the fruit. We are the fruit of the vines. When we seek him first in our busy day, we come to him fresh & ready to hear & ready to receive. Its much harder to seek him & hear him after a long tiring day. Besides, the word you receive early from the Lord can not only help you through your day but it can also be shared with someone else…as Pastor always says!

  10. v10 I am my beloved’s and his desire is toward me.
v12 Let us get up early to the vineyard; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.
v13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruit, new and old , which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.

Finding GOD’s will for our lives requires prayer and personal devotion where we can hear the still, small voice of GOD
JESUS found HIS purpose and kept HIS focus because HE was a man of prayer.
HE often slipped away from the crowds so HE could mediate on things that were important .

Our devotion to GOD is our highest calling in life.
” And thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and all thy might” Deuteronomy 6:5

10 I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me
I love you DADDY!!! HE ONLY WANTS WHAT’S BEST FOR ME!!! THANK YOU DADDY!!! THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  12. 1 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.

Are you wearing the right shoes? Let our feet be shodded with the preparation of the peace, of the Gospel. Let our feet be blessed with serving the Lord of Glory. Everywhere we place our feet, what happens?

“Be blessed”…….Keep the Faith………thank you Jesus for the new Church.

  13. Jealousy

10 I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me.

    Exodus 20:5-6
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Faithfulness is huge with God. When we entertain idols we commit spiritual adultery. We must protect out relationship realizing that as we are faithful to God, he is always, and will always be faithful to us.

  14. Oh the relationship of the Lord with His Church….and the relationship He desires from His bride reciprocated back to Him. This is what Heaven will be like 24/7. Worshipping, Adoration, Exaltation to our Lord and Savior.

Lord let my desire always be toward you……..

  15. 10 I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me.

Thank God for his love for the Church.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:16

  16. 5 Your head is as majestic as Mount Carmel, and the sheen of your hair radiates royalty. (NLT)

The beauty, power, and gift of our hair ladies!

  17. Hands and feet

Verse one talks to us about the feet of the maiden. “1 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter!…”

We are to be the hands and feet of The Lord. We should be spreading God’s news (not gossip)! We should be going where God leads us and doing the things he tells us to do. He has given us some God appointed resources that we need to get out to our lost and dying world.

Ever wonder what God thinks when we do what He tells us to do?

    Isaiah 52:7 (KJV)
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Beautiful feet sounds great to me!

  18. Delight

Oh, how beautiful you are! How pleasing, my love, how full of delights! (Song of Songs 7:6 NLT)

    Psalms 16:8-11
8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

We are quick to talk about how good God is, but how often do we really stop and enjoy the relationship with Him? How often do we truly delight in Him?

    Psalms 37:3-6
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

We get in such a hurry sometimes that we miss out on what is most important. We must be purposeful to establish that daily Selah to be in His presence and just *delight* ourselves in Him. It’s not enough to clock in for a while then clock out of His presence like a job; our hearts must be plugged in.

    Job 22:21-26
21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. 22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. 23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. 24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. 25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver. 26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

    Psalms 94:19
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

  19. Beauty

Pr 31:0 “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”

1 Pet 3:1In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over 2by observing your pure and reverent lives.3Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. 4You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 5This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands. 6For instance, Sarah obeyed her husband, Abraham, and called him her master. You are her daughters when you do what is right without fear of what your husbands might do.”

Pr 11:22 “Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.”

You can look like a flawless size 2 super model and be a repulsive sight to the Lord, that is if your heart isn’t right. Either we are in love with this world, Mamon, the enemy, or we are devoted, obedient and submissive to the Lover and Creator of our souls. A good method to keeping our beauty in Jesus’ eyes is asking Him to check us out, ask Him where we are flawed, repent, and return to a “spotless” lifestyle. We have the choice of which woman/man we want to be-or-become.
For lunch today I went to Subway, instead of returning back to the mad stampede of patients, and overflowing workload, I decided stayed and eat in. It’s not my norm, because it’s artic- uncomfortable environment to enjoy any meal. To say the least I made an exception, after all it was quiet. After a bittersweet lunch- and returning to the rush, I noticed this stinch of Subway lingering on my scrbus my hair etc. So I grabed some gum, sprayed some perfume on my clothes, and lab coat to zap the yuck. At first, it was overwhelming, a twist of peppermint, fruity spray and sandwhiches. A few hours later, and the spray wore off, gum ran out of flavor, and yes Subway was still lingering. Of course it wasn’t until after a shower and a change of clothes, was I back to Monica. In spiritual terms, I know it wasn’t a sin to eat at Subway, but God sees and smells the stinch of sin on us, that we do not, and if I look or stink spiritually I need to know so I can change and repent. Humanity has been trying to cover up sin since the begining with Adam and Eve, they tried leaves. Later it was precious metals, statuesque figures and power. It should be noticealbe how different we are visibly and spritually to the world around us, because our beauty should be different as well. “I belong to my lover and his desire is for me.” vs10 and the mandrakes mentioned in vs13 was used to stimulate fertility, and Jacobs sister wives compromised over his afections in order to concieve. We shouldn’t have to rely on stimulants to birth a miracle, the giving of “love” is God giving us the gift of His Holy Spirit, a promise He had stored up for his church, His Lover. It is wise of wait for our earthly husband “storing up” our virginity until marriage. On the spiritual, wait on the coming of our Lord, with the gift of the Holy Ghost. not allowing vanity to polute His dwelling place (ourselves), it’s the link between Him and us, His Lover.

  20. 10 I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me.

This reminded me of the song; “How He Loves”. He loves us do much. He is for us; He is on our side. He cares for the things in my life. And he extends His mercy love any grace. He forgives my sins, and covers me and fills me with His Spirit… He jelaous of me. Passionately desires my love. Wow what great love that fills my soul!

  21. Verse 5 AMP “Your head crowns you like Mount Carmel, and the hair of your head like purple. [Then seeing the king watching the girl in absorbed admiration, the speaker added] The king is held captive by its tresses.”

Ladies we can be witnesses in many ways, our hair being one of them. My hair, as well as my daughters, has started conversations that have turned into witnessing testimonies and invitations to church. But, we must also make sure that we show Jesus inside and out as part of verses 1-9 MSG states “…..Your beauty, within and without, is absolute……”.

  22. 11 Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages.

    OUTREaCH

Go ur therefore preaching and baptizing. Be the church. Bring the church to the field!!!

  23. V5 this reminds me of a woman’s hair witch is her glory. God has gave us things that set us apart from this world and it is are glory which in retunes gives him glory.

1cor 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

  24.  Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.

We will reap what we sow. Keep watering that seed and the Lord will bless it.

  25. Praisers

Your stature is like that of the palm…(Song of Solomon 7:7 NIV)

They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! ” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” (John 12:13 NIV)

Women should hold there stature as women of God, praises before The Lord!
