Isaiah 1

1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the Lord hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

10 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

24 Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lordshall be consumed.

29 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

30 For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

31 And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

  1. 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

How much grace can God give those that are willing to repent? We just need to humble ourselves and listen to God as he speaks to us. Come now, and let us reason together.

I want to be willing to do what God tells me to where I can be classified with the obedient. At this moment I cannot think of a greater class than the obedient.

I think the reward of the obedient is much better than the cost of rebelliousness.
    1. Eat the good of the land.
Choice 2: Devoured with the sword.

To finish it off this was spoken by the mouth of the LORD!

PRAISE THE LORD POFW!!! LET’S SEE WHAT GOD CAN DO!!!

  2. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

There is power both in obedience and rebellion: one will feed you, the other will devour you. The Lord spoke it; it cannot change.

Personally, I’m ready to eat of the good of the land!

    Numbers 13:23,26-27 KJV
    23. And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

    26. And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

    27. And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

  3. 15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

15 When you put on your next prayer-performance, I’ll be looking the other way. No matter how long or loud or often you pray, I’ll not be listening. And do you know why? Because you’ve been tearing people to pieces, and your hands are bloody. 16 Go home and wash up. Clean up your act. Sweep your lives clean of your evildoings so I don’t have to look at them any longer. Say no to wrong. MSG

Jesus have mercy on us today. No matter how long a person prays, fast and shouts and does good. If you have evil in your heart God is not listening. We have to be careful what we say and what we do. Don’t be talking about the leadership of the church, your pastor and pastors wife instead of tearing people up how about lift them up in prayer. You never know what someone else is going thru until you walk in their shoes. Sometimes the person seems okay on the outside but what about the inside when they are alone and feels no one loves them and that the world is against them, and then we come along and instead of helping them we tear them down either by gossiping about them or not talking to them at all.
Be careful who you call your friends. If we ever get to the point that all we care about is listening to gossip and hurting other people we better check ourselves. I pray daily God give me a clean heart renew in me the right spirit .Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. KJV Psalm 51:10
So POFW let your shine towards all men and be sensitive to the needs of others around us. We all have been at one time or other in a situation where we didn’t have nothing and were looking for a friend. If we can’t find a friend in the church something is wrong. People are looking for what we have. Again that song we sing:
    satan your a liar
    Jesus has all power
you can’t bring me down I’m heaven bound.
Be careful little eyes what you see
Be careful little eyes what you see, cause the father up above is looking down in tender love so be careful little eyes what you see
Be careful little mouth what you say be careful little mouth what you say cause the father up above is looking down in tender love so be careful little mouth what you say. You put garbage in your mind and soul garage comes out.

  4. v17 Learn to do well; seek judgment ,relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless , plead for the widow.

A person may say he loves GOD, but his religion is in vain when he acts uncharitably towards others.
We have been commissioned to demonstrate our love for GOD by serving HIS people.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before GOD and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Our love for GOD will manifest itself in service, loyalty, and commitment to HIS cause.

v18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though yours be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

No longer will we be the same filthy sinner. We are thankful for the cleansing blood of
    JESUS CHRIST.

GOD will never turn away the truly repentant.

  5. This chapter illustrates today. Their eyes turned away from God and towards self. One may be able to play the part, but Jesus knows the heart. One must endeavor to please the Creator (Jesus) and not the creation; “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  6. A MERCIFUL GOD

The nature and will of GOD is “RESTORATION”. He gave HIS life in the flesh to “RESTORE” mankind to HIMSELF. He became sin so we could come to HIM.

Sin separates man from GOD. Sin divides us from GOD because we disobey and rebel against HOLY nature and will. The same sin will cause us to not desire to be near GOD. Satan utilizes the tool of fear to keep lives bound by it. However we find here that, though we may be deep in sin, the LORD would like to reason with us. Understanding that we deserve judgement in the sinful state, the MERCIES of GOD seek to RESTORE us. In a moment, GOD will cleanse us and make us whole, cleansed by his own blood.

He requirement: be willing to come to him and repent of sin, turn away from sin, trust and obey HIM. BLESSINGS are promised to those that are willing and obedient. DO NOT rebel and disobey, you will starve to death at your own calamity.

  7. V2-4 God is speaking all times just got to trun to his station and listen.
He said even the ox the donkeys know there master but his people don’t know him the people he created the people and loves the people he brought out of sin don’t even know him. Must get in his word and hear his voice and prayer so I can know him.
Then we won’t trun into a nation that turns from god and he won’t have to destroy us to get us back to him

  8. 18 I, the Lord, invite you to come and talk it over. Your sins are scarlet red, but they will be whiter than snow or wool.
19 If you willingly obey me, the best crops in the land will be yours.
20 But if you turn against me, your enemies will kill you. I, the Lord, have spoken. (CEV)

*Thank You Jesus for Your blood that washes away all my sins! Rightly obey simply because God says so!

18-20 “If your sins are blood-red, they’ll be snow-white. If they’re red like crimson, they’ll be like wool. If you’ll willingly obey, you’ll feast like kings. But if you’re willful and stubborn, you’ll die like dogs.” That’s right. God says so. (MSG)

  9. healing
Healing in the old testment answers to sickness and sin While God is the source3 of physical healing the prophets spiratul sickness can only be healed by forgiveness and a restored relationship with the L ord

  10. 3 songs, a preacher, the door

If we do all these things and get caught up in the religion of church, we have missed the point. This is why in the old tabernacle you had to come to the altar first. The most important part of the service is the altar. The song means nothing, the preaching is worthless, the praises dont reach the ceiling if we dont get to the altar.

    1Corinthians 1:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

We have to kill the flesh before his glory will come.

Let us not just have good church…
Let the altar serve its purpose and let us kill the things that are stopping the glory of God to flow.

  11. ILove to eat the word

    True Service

6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

The whole purpose of the church is to be an hospital to the lost. The gifts of the Spirit are for the glory of God and that some might be saved.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isaiah 61:1 KJV)

If we do not desire the gifts of the Spirit, we are not desiring the body would be healed.

    Jesus Name!

  12. Good vs bad in the eyes of GOD~

This chptr is an eye opener to anyone who choses to live a clean holy life or a life of bad reports of disobedience towards God.
I choose to be obediant…sure…we might slip up and hate someone that did us wrong but that’s when we can go to God and repent to God then others and then we can recieve the rewards from The Lord which is eternal life with Him(God).
Or live towards destruction (burn for eternity).
Im glad God wakes us up when its time to get our life back to Him.
    What a glorious God.

  13. 16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

They are told to wash and cleanse themselves and cease to do evil. Then they have to learn to do well. Before we can learn to do good we must first stop being unclean. Learn to do well..that seems to be a continuing lesson for me. How can I learn to do well? Seek judgement. The judgement of my actions by the man of God will enlighten me to whether I do good or not. Relieve the oppressed- help those who are in need. A helping hand can go a long way and helping others will bring blessings upon ourselves.

  14. Taking this City by Force.

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

I pray that I have been obedient to the will of God. Because being out of that is death. Therefore if we are obedient to the will of God we will then reap from the land. The New Land is Ours.

  15. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

    Amen!!!!!! HALLELUJAH!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!
    I needed this

  16. Verses 18-20 CEV “I, the Lord, invite you to come and talk it over. Your sins are scarlet red, but they will be whiter than snow or wool. If you willingly obey me, the best crops in the land will be yours. But if you turn against me, your enemies will kill you. I, the Lord, have spoken.”

These verses remind me of our Sunday School lesson this morning on Esther. Esther wanted to make a difference and she was willing to go before the king. When she did, the king extended his gold scepter to her as an invitation for her to approach him. The Lord has an open invitation to us; to listen to us and forgive us. If we are willing to obey, we too can make a difference!

  17. 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

Praise be to Gos for His love and mercy. His love is unfailing and the reward is great just for being obedient. He said if you love, obey my commandments. I am thankful, for his salvation, His name and the blood. I want to be found doing His will obeying Him.

  18. This is my first time coming to this website, something told me to come in read the blog and I truly believed this word was meant for me.i need to change some things in my life before I expect god to bless me with anything..and that I will do

  19. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

These verses shows us that the promises that God makes to us at time come with a condition. IF YE BE WILLING AND OBEDIENT ye shall eat the good of the land BUT: IF YE REFUSE AND REBEL ye shall be devoured.
Its important to make sure we do what God has commanded us first before we can expect him to fufill his promises in our life.

  20. How does God see you?
The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider. (Isaiah 1:3 KJV)
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. (Isaiah 1:15-17 KJV)

Does it seem like God never hears your prayers? You may need to check yourself. Have you turned from God? Is he your Lord or not? If he is not it control, who is?

Sometimes I worry about our nation. I wonder how we got to a place where we can kill babies before they take their first breath. I wonder how God sees their innocent blood that is on our hands. I wonder what I can do to change things.
The Word gives us some advice:
Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

    PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!

God guide our country and its leaders to follow your word. Help us all to have clean hands and a heart after you. Amen!

  21. Fixing Brokenness

Why should you be stricken and punished any more [since it brings no correction]? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, and the whole heart is faint (feeble, sick, and nauseated). From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness or health in [the nation’s body]–but wounds and bruises and fresh and bleeding stripes; they have not been pressed out and closed up or bound up or softened with oil. [No one has troubled to seek a remedy.] (Isaiah 1:5, 6 AMP)

We hear the saying, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it,” but the flip side needs to be said as well sometimes, “if it’s broke, fix it.” The definition of insanity is repeating the same mistakes over and over again and expecting different results; we must have the courage to be honest about what’s not working and what changes need to be made. It’s pointless to wind up a beaten up mess before getting the message, but unfortunately that’s how it goes sometimes.

If you keep being stubborn after many warnings, you will suddenly discover you have gone too far. (Proverbs 29:1 CEVDCUS06)

It’s better to honestly inspect what we expect now than risk the possible fallout of bad decisions later. Brokenness can be fixed a lot easier in the beginning than at the end.

  22. A call of restoration to those who have grown cold in their spirit and allowed the spirit of babylon to rule their lives. We must examine our hearts to see where we would weigh on the scales with God. Would we be found wanting? Would we be found faithful? Would we be found carnal?

Help us Lord to turn from our selfish, carnal ways and put away things of the world, that we might become more like You!

  23. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

    When God Speaks

Obedience is so much more than just doing as told, it also includes the heart factor, whether or not I am willing. I do not want to place myself in the seat of rebellion. I have done that before and it cost me dearly.

When God speaks, moutains tremble, the earth shakes, waters either part, or they come together. When God speaks planets form, and the cosmos begin… When God speaks many turn a deaf ear, and rebel. I want to be found willing and obedient, not rebellious..

  24. This scripture is a warning, to turn/repent and commit to the Lord. To keep from evil.

Repent….make the way straight before the Lord. He makes the crooked way straight, lowers the hills, exalts the valleys, makes the rough places smooth.

Look at the state of America today! Sodom & Gamorrah is about to repeat again. We have to awaken her.

    “Be blessed”………

  25. God wants us to obey his commands, no one can escape Judgement Day.
Lord through you all things are possible, lead us to be more like you.

  26. Heart Matters

The divided kingdom of Israel and Judah dishonors God with their spiritual attitudes and actions. Ruled by King Ahaz of Judah and an assortment of evil, short-lived kings from Israel, the people worship idols and even sacrifice children. Yet at the same time, many continue the feasts and sacrifices required by the Lord. Practiced with brittle hearts and sinful lifestyles, these God-ward sacrifices and celebrations weary unto the Lord. He’s had enough! Instead of outward expressions of ritual, God wants a people with pure, obedient hearts.

Though God isn’t abolishing his guidelines for religious practice, he is warning the people to look with in. They are not to forsake important traditions and avenues for spiritual growth. Yet most crucial is the condition of their hearts as they approach God. Who they are outweighs the religious rituals they practice. Jesus called these religiously dirty on the inside “Hypocrites”

Matt 23: 25“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence! 26You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish,i and then the outside will become clean, too.27“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs—beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity. 28Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.

  27. Red= white

If you want guidance he’ll give it to you. Here you are given a promise of what to come after obedience to Hos word. You wanted a solution, he gave it to you… The blood still works
