Isaiah 14

1 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

22 For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord.

23 I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the Lord of hosts.

24 The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.

29 Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.

31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

32 What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the Lord hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

  1. As I read this I am reminded that “WE WIN”. Our oppressors will go down and become the oppressed. The Lord knows what to do, when to do, and how to do it; all we need to do is follow His word, lean not unto our own understanding, and in Everything give Him all Praise and Glory. Never give up no matter what the weapon is “We Win”.

  2. 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

    16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Those that see lucifer will be furious that they allowed him to destroy their life. They’ll say, “Really? This is the one I let destroy me? I thought he’d be bigger!”

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

    Luke 10:18 KJV
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

God told him he would be brought down and it happened as quickly as lightning – now he has been put in his place – under our feet!

  3. God -of-the-Angel-Armies speaks: “Exactly as I planned, it will happen. Following my blueprints, it will take shape. I will shatter the Assyrian who trespasses my land and stomp him into the dirt on my mountains. I will ban his taking and making of slaves and lift the weight of oppression from all shoulders.” This is the plan, planned for the whole earth, And this is the hand that will do it, reaching into every nation. God -of-the-Angel-Armies has planned it. Who could ever cancel such plans? His is the hand that’s reached out. Who could brush it aside? (Isaiah 14:24-27 MSG)

The word of God will always stand! If The Lord said then it shall happen.

  4. I am reminded when I read this chapter that no one can
RISE UP AGAINST GOD AND SURVIVE!
God will have mercy upon his people. Break the backs of those that rise up against him or brings a railing accusation against the people of God.

If God be for us tell me who can be against us.

There is no one that can stand against us. We should rejoice everyday that God is on our side. No better reason to shout out the praises of the LORD.

26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

Once God hath purposed in his heart to do something, we must repent and make things right to reverse these things. Help us to understand God, I pray that we can know more about God and his ways.

Thank God he has my back.

  5. 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

    What’s in Your Heart?

Many times we find ourselves doing wrong time after time, and trying to reason within our own minds as to the why’s and how to fix its.
The word tells us that out of the heart the mouth speaks. It also tells us that God knows the thoughts and the intents of our hearts. (That’s a verse many people want to refer to about salvation, just because they want to rebel and not be baptized) yet there is another verse where Jeaus says if you love me then obey my commands.
When we don’t obey, we allow our pride, our selfishness, our hurts, our sin to show its face and we cause disunity, hurting those around us, and not only jeopardizing, our victory, but could cost others theirs too.
We must “count the cost” before we jump. We must stay submitted, and force our ego to not edge God out, but to exalt God only.
Stay humble. Stay pure. Keep a clean heart. Exalt God only.

  6. THE GUARANTEED FALL

I have had conversation with a few people who began to speak this language; I WILL do this, I WILL do that, I WILL not do this and I WILL nto do that, etc. Unfortunately for each of them, they lost their way and strayed from GOD. The WORD of GOD is TRUE and regardless of what you, I or others would say, the WORD of GOD will REIGN.

Notice where satan’s fall begins; “in his heart” his feelings, his emotions, jealousy, pride, arrogance, selfishness, self will. We are instructed by the WORD of GOD in Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Protect your HEART.

Any notion or feeling to usurp or overthrow an authority will never turn out good. We have a Mighty GOD who sees everything and knows everything and in due season will lift us up as we prove our faithfulness and servitude to HIM and HIS Kingdom.

I encourage you today to have a “chill prayer” and resubmit your will to the will of GOD and instead of telling GOD what you are going to do; ask HIM what you can do to serve HIM.

27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

Who can change what the Lord has already destined to be? Not you and not me, we should accept God’s will With content and gladness, hallelujah he has a will for our lives, because ours is surely not going to work out the way we planned. God is so good, why not let him take over

  8. WHO ART THOU YOU FOOL

    16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

    Who is a fool?
Psalms 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Anyone that attempts to over through the will and authority of GOD at any level. The dreadful, fear flavored, terrorizing satan will be the laughing stock of eternity.

***NOTICE lucifer, satan, the devil is ALREADY defeated by the WORD of GOD and the BLOOD of JESUS. Call OUT to JESUS now and fear will leave and PEACE will arrive in the name of JESUS.***

  9. 24 The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand

27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back

What God says will happen,so no need in trying to go around it and do it another way, just obey!!!

  10. 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

    Exhalt yourself to fall

Whenever we say we will rise up God will strike is down. No one is equal to God. Stay humble

    16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

    Father if lies

When we see him for who he is we will be amazed. He makes himself look bigger than what he is. He is the father if trickery and deceit. Know the word and be not deceived.

  11. 7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

Praise brings peace. Praise is one of the most important parts of our walk with God. He created all things to give him praise in there own way. One way for us is to sing.

  12. This chapter reminds me of the chorus of this song that says….

    “Our God is greater
    Our God is stronger
God You Are higher than any other
    Our God is healer
    Awesome in power
    Our God, Our God”

There is none greater than Our God!!! Ever…!!

  13. 12 How art thou fallen from heaven , O Lucifer , son of the morning ! How art thou cut down to the ground , which didst weaken the nations ! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart ,I will ascend into heaven . I willexalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit alswo upon the mount of the congregation , in the sides of the north: 14 Iwill ascend above the heights of the clouds ; I will be like the most High . 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell , to the sides of the pit . 16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee , and consider thee , saying , Is this the man that made the earth to tremble , that did shake kingdoms ; 17 That made the world as a wilderness , and destroyed the cities thereof ; That opened not the house of his prisoners ?

  14. From the death throes of that shake a worse snake will come and from that one even worse. The poor wont have to worry. The needy will escape the terror. But you philistines will be plugged into famine and those who don’t starve God will kill.

  15. We, as christians, give the devil too much glory at times, like he is all powerful and all knowing, like our God. But that is not the case. Although he may intimidate us, we need to rise up and recognize he only has power because God allows him to have that power. I can’t wait for the day that this scripture is fulfilled:

    16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

Let the church rise up and give no place to the devil!

  16. 2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

Gods gonna turn the tide, God is gonna make us the head and not the tail. God is gonna turn it around.

  17. This chapter illustrates circle. All was brought full circle as Isaiah prophesied. One is wise to obey the Word of God and heed the man of God, for all will be brought full circle; “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  18. Nothing compared to God

    Isaiah 14:16-17 NLT
Everyone there will stare at you and ask,
‘Can this be the one who shook the earth
and made the kingdoms of the world tremble?
Is this the one who destroyed the world
and made it into a wasteland?
Is this the king who demolished the world’s greatest cities
and had no mercy on his prisoners? ’

This is spoke about the devil with a tone of shock, and unbelief. “This guy?” “He was the one who did that?” “Really?!”

About six years ago in Arington I had an interesting vision. I saw an ugly slimy disproportionate creature. It had razor sharp teeth, beady eyes full of hatred, and wet grey skin. It emanated fear, and I knew it could destroy me. I felt small, and fragile in the presence of this demon.

Next I saw a tall, powerful looking man. He was robed with garments, and had large powerful wings. His body was bold, and prominent. He looked strong, and emanated strength. I knew this was an angel of God.

Then I saw the demon again. This time he was in my eyes like a harmless puppy in comparison to the angel of The Lord.

I’ll never forget the image, and it showed me that no matter how big the attack of the enemy Jesus is greater, and far more stronger than any minion of hell.

The next time the sly fox comes around intimidating, and roaring remember to God he is a speck, and we are greater.

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world

  19. Vs.3, “And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,”

At one time, we too, were in bondage to sin, fear, doubt , sorrow, ect… but thanks be to God who delivered us and set us free. He has given us his spirit, which is the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the REST. It is joy and peace. Thank you Jesus !

  20. Kill this man’s children! Let them die because of their father’s sins! They must not rise and conquer the earth, filling the world with their cities.” (Isaiah 14:21 NLT)

Our sin effects those closest to us… Lord deliver us from sin and our selfishness.

  21. In this scripture, it is revealing the great fall of Satan, and his horrible influence in this world. It is also, a clear picture of upcoming events as well. Remember, always plead the Blood of Jesus Christ, because it cleanses you, and Satan is defeated by the Blood of the LAMB and the Word of our testimony.

You have heard about this one!
W.W.J.D. = What Would Jesus Do?

But have you heard this one? Backwards!
    D.J.W.W. = Devil Just Won’t Win!

    “Be Blessed”……………………..

  22. Babylon or Satan?

Some think this passage describes the fall of Satan (Lk 10:18). Others see it as a description of the fall of Babylon’s king. Both interpretations are accurate. These verses describe the devestating fall of the “morning star” (Isa 14:12), who once lived in splendor. Satan, as a fallen angel, had once lived in the splendor of God’s presence. The king of Babylon lived in the splendor of his palace with the plunder of those he plunder of those he conquered, those the Lord ‘allowed’ him to plunder. The reason for each fall is the same: pride. God hates pride and crushes the plans and self-promotion of the proud.

Proverbs 8:13 “To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.”

  23. 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

    There is none like You!
No one can compare to God! god is awesome. This is the reason that Lucifer fell. He tried to be like God. He thought that He could be like God. Oh, be careful what you think as The Lord your God knows your thoughts!

  24. The Take-Over

3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve

    Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

When God takes over, He redefines things and gives rest from this world. Life comes full of cares and trouble but God gives us rest. When we humble ourselves to take His yoke and let Him take over, we get rest from sorrow, fear, and the bondage of sin.

    1 Peter 5:6-7
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

    Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

    Psalms 16:9
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

  25. 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

From these verses several things stood out to me. Pride stinks! Pride come comes from the heart…the stench of pride always wants to compare; verse 14 “…I will be Like the most High” I’ve noticed that, in essence, pride is ruled by a sense of inferiority and insecurity we can derive the “comparisons” by such. A prideful spirit can say; no, I can not be at this level as you I will be higher and better, obtain the best clothing, the latest trends in fashion and technology because I can’t stand to feel inferior than you. It will always compare and exalt itself. Insecurity kicks in when there is no trust. I can do it better, I can lead better, I don’t think you have the right idea. Instead of being submissive there is a lack of trust on the ones on authority. The devil many times will attack with those two, making you feel inferior and insecure and once you are pined down by those two because one believes the lie we’ve open the door for pride, my will, to operate and take matters into your hands, thinking you can do a better job, with the deception that you are helping God by doing this or that. The important thing is to guard your heart as proverbs states and to keep your eyes on Jesus, constantly humbling ourselves, being a servant to all, and not looking around that we may not be tempted and listen to the devil when he wants to to compare look at this, look at that, look at them..you can be better, he just wants you to fall just like he did. Keep your eyes on Christ. The devil saw the vanity of outside beauty and tried to exalt himself and got knocked down…. Its all vanity. Vanity of vanities said the preacher. You wanna see real beauty…brush your heart with a brush of righteousness, adorn it with love and meekness, and watch it glow the Light of Jesus. That’s real beauty

  26. It’s our mind set, If anything gets int he way of the Lord’s will then fight to make things right with God. I choose to do the will of God don’t let anything get in your way of doing his will.

  27. “It’s better to put trust in the LORD than to put confidence in mankind.
    Psalm 118:8

When we possess ultimate faith and confidence in GOD, we WILL experience VICTORY!

    NOW

  28. Posted my blog early on verses 11-12 but see today that it did not post! I wrote about Lucifer’s prode being his destruction and said that pride still destroys today. I had defeating pride & disunity on my mind and was praying for unity, submission & anointing! Pastor’s message Sunday morning came at the perfect time for the Children’s Mininstry to hear…we are anointed! The anointing breaks the yoke and we will now see growth! Praise God for unity and anointing!

  29. Verse 24 NLT “The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has sworn this oath:
“It will all happen as I have planned. It will be as I have decided.”

Verse 27 NLT “The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has spoken—who can change his plans? When his hand is raised, who can stop him?””

Me and my sister were just talking about God’s plan this morning. Everything is being orchestrated by God. His plan and result will happen, whether we wish to be an obedient part of it or not. It is wise to heed the warnings and be an obedient servant to God in whatever part is happening in our lives.

  30. Breaking the Rod of the Wicked

On the day the Lord gives you relief from your suffering and turmoil and from the harsh labor forced on you, you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon: How the oppressor has come to an end! How his fury has ended! The Lord has broken the rod of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers, which in anger struck down peoples with unceasing blows, and in fury subdued nations with relentless aggression. (Isaiah 14:3-6 NIV)

It’s been broken! No longer does the church need to dwell on bring continually beaten down. The opressor has come to an end and now is the time to claim victory!

Victory is mine, victory is mine
    Victory today is mine
I told satan, get thee behind
    Victory today is mine
