Isaiah 15

1 The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;

He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.

In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping abundantly.

And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous unto him.

My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing.

Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall they carry away to the brook of the willows.

For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the howling thereof unto Beerelim.

For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.

  1. 9 For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.

God isn’t satisfied with half-way doing something. When he wants something destroyed, He doesn’t intend to leave part of it behind to cause problems later.

    1 Samuel 15:3 KJV
    3. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Saul disobeyed and didn’t destroy all, and we can read of the problems that arose from sparing what God had said to destroy.

This would be a good guideline for repentance – don’t allow any sins to remain unrepented and never turn back to them.

  2. Moab is where Naomi journeyed to when she left Canaan, and from her chapters of life we read that she lost everything including her husband, and both sons. She had to return back to her land, with her daughter-in-law Ruth and there found restoration through the favor of God.

This chapter reflects to me people that leave the protection and covering of God by journeying into the world. They go out full, but they come back empty and desolate. They dabble so long in carnality that they desensitize their spirit to the convictions of God and before long they no longer have convictions and become like the world.

My prayer is that I wouldn’t take the protection/provision of the Lord for granted by my actions so that I don’t become like the city of Moab, desolate and forsaken, a burnt over field.

  3. Some will always wait until the end of times to cry out… but the worse still to come. People have been warned over and over and over again, we hit the streets with love and joy in our mouth asking them, showing them, praying for them; but some will never listen. It will not be until everything is gone that finally some will cry out, hopefully it will not be too late.

Matt 10:32-33 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

2 Cor 6: We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Do not wait until all is lost to cry out!!!! NOW, THIS MOMENT IS THE TIME OF SALVATION!!!!!!

  4. This chapter illustrates settled. What the Lord says is settled. One would be wise to study the Word of God (Jesus); “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  5. THE PAIN OF JUDGEMENT

8 For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the howling thereof unto Beerelim.

Moab is a place of corruption.
4124. mo-awb; from (her (the mother’s)) father; Moab, an incestuous son of Lot; also his territory and descendants:—Moab.

Moab tends to indicate secret or hidden sin, such as incest, a great abomination in the eyes of GOD.

As with any and every sin, the BLOOD of JESUS has given us power, authority and deliverance from ALL sin. We must choose to walk away from the sin. In the heart of GOD and HIS love for mankind we enjoy GRACE (Unmerited or undersving favor) from GOD. Many misuse this beautiful GIFT from GOD.

GRACE is not approval for a wrong, GRACE is a SPACE to find a PLACE to REPENT.

Choose TODAY to REPENT and escape THE PAIN OF JUDGEMENT.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

    NOW

  6. If sin lingers then there will be room for more sin. There is nothing more beautiful than to chooe the ways of the Lord. If you’re hungry for the Lord then eat, feed and receive his Holy Spirit. He wants nothing more than to be in you NOW. Any unholy act on your part will lead to disobedience, follow the Lord’s commands and be blessed.

  7. 3 In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping abundantly.

This is the cries of someone when God has departed from them.
Even the sackcloth and weeping will not change the heart of God when it is to late.

I pray God will always allow my heart to soft and tender toward his word and the ministry.

I never want to be out of touch with the spirit of God!!

  8. To be spiritually dead is to be separated from GOD. It’s been said that’s the definition of ” HELL”. That’s where
Adam and Eve found themselves outcast and separated from the very source of blessing. How tragic !
LORD… Please always help me .
The LORD is still searching and yearning for those who will return HIS Love.
“For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to CHRIST”
    2 Corinthians 11:2

    iRepent
    iPray
    iPraise

  9. 2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

  10. There will come the time of the end for this world and the sorrows told here of Moab will, sadly, be nothing compared to the sorrows that are yet to come. I do not want to weep over the rebellious lost in that day without knowing that I have done everything in my power to help someone escape. Even if just 1 can escape, the time spent to teach, encourage and love that 1 will be worth it.

This is a hard chapter to blog about after having such a great presence and power of the blowing of the wind of God in service tonight. I am anointed! Between services today, an acquaintance told me she had 2 tumors in her brain that required surgery and she told me that God told her to talk to me about it. I did a little talking but more importantly, I laid hands on her head (over the tumors) & prayed. It will not be me that did anything, but rather God was looking for the opportunity to be God to her, and through my obedience, God will show himself mighty in her life. I look forward to hearing what he is doing and speak by faith that she will not need surgery- in Jesus name.

  11. Shaved Heads

Beards and longish hair were common in the OT Jewish culture. Shaving the head and beard were often a sign of mourning. Pulling hairs out of one’s head or beard was an expression of extreme grief (Ezr 9:3). Mourners would wear sackcloth rather than their normal robes. Grief was not expressed quietly or politely, but loudly and with fervor. For Example: Esther 4:1 “When Mordecai learned of all that had been done, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the city, wailing loudly and bitterly.” God is punishing Moab, a small nation east of the Salt Sea or Dead Sea, from the lineage of Lot, for its harsh treatment of Israel. Those who survive the destruction mourn for their losses. Their is a resounding message of judgment in this chapter, but there is not complete loss for their will be survivors, a remnant, a future Gentile nation to here the gospel. A chance for eternal life, another opportunity for repentance. Even in despair, God is faithful and merciful in punishment, to allow them to turn to Him. We have to stand under the covering of anointing to flow in the willful power of the Lord, when we step out of line we are prey to sin and judgment. In Numbers 22-24 Balaam was summoned to curse Israel, but could not because Israel was under the covering of the Lord, Balaam understood that if they were inticed to stray from their covering they would be subject to curses and judgment. Samson’s hair was blessed by the Lord to be the source of his strength, a Nazarite covenant to Him. Only when Samson stepped out of his covering could Delilah manipulate him. Later Samson’s, hair began to grow, and even though he could no longer see, he felt the strength of the Lord coming back, just enough to take one last stand against the enemy “Sovereign LORD, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time.” (Jdg 16:28). Stop chopping off your glory women, men stop shaming your selves by overgrowing your hair men. Being covered under the annointing means obeying His word.

1 Cor 11:13Judge for yourselves. Is it right for a woman to pray to God in public without covering her head? 14Isn’t it obvious that it’s disgraceful for a man to have long hair? 15And isn’t long hair a woman’s pride and joy? For it has been given to her as a covering. 16But if anyone wants to argue about this, I simply say that we have no other custom than this, and neither do God’s other churches.

  12. No growth without water

6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away, the grass faileth, there is no green thing.

We have learned several times recently about the Holy Spirit being like a well of living water. Don’t let your river run dry.

  13. 1 The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;

Sometimes things need to die before we can move on

  14. In this chapter we read about the piercing cries of distress, the cries from devastation and cries that can be heard afar off. We can apply that to “NOW” in that if we look and listen carefully you can literally hear the cry of this city. There are so many people….family, friends and co-workers that still do not know who God is. We can show them the answer to that cry and distress……JESUS!

  15. He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.

Grief does many things. Loseing A father I know.

  16. And Heshbon  shall cry , and Elealeh : their voice  shall be heard  even unto Jahaz : therefore the armed soldiers  of Moab  shall cry out  ; his life  shall be grievous  unto him.
    NET
The people of  Heshbon and Elealeh cry out, their voices are heard as far away as Jahaz. For this reason Moab’s soldiers shout in distress; their courage wavers.

The Hebrew text has, “For this reason the soldiers of Moab shout, his inner being quivers for him

God hears the cries of the people afflicted by the enemy. Boom!  God hears. What next?  Verse 9

For the waters  of Dimon  shall be full of blood : for I will bring  more  upon Dimon , lions  upon him that escapeth  of Moab , and upon the remnant  of the land .
    NET
Indeed, the waters of Dimon  are full of blood! Indeed, I will heap even more trouble on Dimon.  A lion will attack  the Moabite fugitives and the people left in the land.

    We win!

  17. 9 For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the remnant of the land.

The Words of God are perpetual and cannot be changed. What He says, He will do, without a question in His time. There are examples for the consequences of desobedience king Saul was one. Moses did not obey God when he was supposed to speak to the rock but instead he struck it. God’s promises are yea and amen…one would be wide to listen and just like commanded. Partial obedience is desobedience. The Word tells us that if we love God we ought to obey His commandments.

  18. In this scripture, is of great suffering and they cried out abundently. But, thank God, that with the new covenant we have better promises. Thank you Jesus, for he promised us abundent life, bread of life, more bread, make me fat with your bread of life Jesus. Destroy yokes I pray Jesus, Amen & Amen.

    • I don’t want to take the protection and provision of God for granted by the things i do so I don’t become like the city of Moab, desolate and forsaken.

  19. Silence

    1 The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;

    Job 40:3-5
3 Then Job answered the Lord, and said, 4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. 5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

God knows what we must go through to bring an end to our speaking. Just as Job came to a place where he realized the need for silence, sometimes we must go through a great storm before the stage can be cleared and God can come into focus and speak to us.

After Job was silent, Scripture records: Job 40:6 Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind…

    1 Kings 19:11-12
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Beyond the storm, beyond the wind, beyond the silence, there came the voice of the Lord…

    Exodus 14:13-14
13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

The place of silence can be just the setting for God to take over. It is the surrender of our control that opens the door for the miraculous. We must not fear silence but rather have faith in the God who knows just how to bless it and break it and make it into “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us…”

There comes a time of trust that we must stop asking and just let God speak into the silence, according to the anointing that works in us!

    Genesis 1:1-3
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said…

In the beginning, God… over the blank, “silent” canvas of creation, the Wind blew… and then God spoke…

    Ecclesiastes 3:1, 7, 11
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    7 … a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

  20. Washing Away

… The waters… Shall be full of blood…

It’s quite interesting to see that the water is what took the life source (the blood) and washed it away… We use water (symbolizing His blood) to baptize bringing forth life and washing away the death of our past. It makes ‘where there is life, there shall be death’ to another level
