Isaiah 24

1 Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.

The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word.

The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted do sigh.

The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.

They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.

10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

11 There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.

12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.

13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.

15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.

18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

  1. God’s judgment for sin will cause our lives to become desolate. God is not mocked. We should repent and humble ourselves as individuals and a nation before it is too late.

  2. 13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.

God will be praised. No matter what He has to do or who (or what) He has to use, there will always be someone who will praise Him. Sometimes it may look like no one is living for God but He has always preserved the ones that praise Him and He is protecting them from the storms of this world.

    1 Kings 19:14-15,18 KJV
14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

15 And the Lord said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:

18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

  3. 5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

People have defiled the law of God. The inhabitants of that day that Isaiah spoke of sounds much like the time we live in. The USA was a nation founded on Biblical principals. We have slowly moved away from those principals. We have reached a place that homosexuality has been approved and two men or two women can marry. Abortion is ok as a form of birth control. More and more people think living together before getting married is the way things should be done.

    1. They transgressed the law
    2. Changed the ordinance
    3. Broken the everlasting covenant

Either one of these would be an abomination, but we have come to live in the day that people think nothing of [changing the ordinances of God].
Tell me who do people think they are that they can change God’s ordinances. This brings on a whole new thought for another time. Only God has the power to change any ordinances. So have we made ourselves a God?

  4. This chapter portrays the state of Jersalem when the Lord would gather them together and they would not. They choose their own path, not caring for the commands and principles set forth from their forefathers.

We can very easily find ourselves in this same state if we do not care for the things of the Lord and guard our lives from the spirit of world. Deception is so sly, it will wrap us up and destroy our walk with God before we know it and we will find ourselves in the same desolate state.

It is important that we hold fast to the truth, and walk in the way that has been set before us, establishing our own relationship with the Lord and not move the boundaries lines.

Proverbs 23: 10 Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:

  5. This chapter illustrates time. The time draweth nearer; “The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant”. One and all must repent and seek the mercy of God. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  6. JESUS!!!

NO ONE IS EXEMPT!!! OOOOO JESUS HAVE MERCY!!! DADDY I LOVE YOU!!! JESUS YOU ARE MY ALL!!! THERE IS NO ONE LIKE YOU DADDY!!! HALELUJAH!!! GRACIAS PADRE !!!

    “Repent”

The earth suffers for the sins of its people,
for they have twisted God’s instructions,
    violated his laws,
    and broken his everlasting covenant.
6Therefore, a curse consumes the earth.
Its people must pay the price for their sin. (NLT)

God is so Righteous and Holy that He “has” to judge sin.

    Ananias and Sapphira

Acts 5:1 (NLT) But there was a certain man named Ananias who, with his wife, Sapphira, sold some property. 2He brought part of the money to the apostles, claiming it was the full amount. With his wife’s consent, he kept the rest.
3Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. You weren’t lying to us but to God!”

5As soon as Ananias heard these words, he fell to the floor and died. Everyone who heard about it was terrified.

Sin, even in the New Testament Church (after the mercy and grace of the Cross) still had to be judged. The sin had to be judged very quickly in the first church because it was an example for everything that would come hereafter.

As this age of the Church comes to an end and as great revival sweeps across the land, sin will once again have to be judged quickly…for WE ARE THE LAST GREAT EXAMPLE FOR MANKIND.

The fear of the Lord is on its way once again, Lets just Repent before it gets here in judgement.

1 Peter 4:17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

18And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

  8. JUDGEMENT ARRIVES

1 Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.
3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this word.

The frailty of man is such a delicate subject. Most of us in the time of need, fail to recognize it, acknowledge it or pursue it. Pride is the obstacle to receiving the assistance needed for us to succeed through repentance and restoration.

Most people do not regret their actions near as much as they regret being found out or “CAUGHT”.

This chapter reveals very vividly to us that regardless of your financial or professional status; when JUDGEMENT ARRIVES it will affect ALL of us.

It is time NOW to sell out to GOD, forsake this world, its entertainment idols, forsake this enticing lustful sins that capture and imprison multitudes in their own mind.

When the scriptures above come to pass; it will be very important for us to be on the LORD’s side. This is attained through total SUBMISSION, total OBEDIENCE, and total FAITH in our LORD JESUS.

Holding to anything else when JUDGEMENT ARRIVES will cause total chaos and defeat.

JESUS the maker of heaven and earth will surely be the only HOPE for anyone in that day. Choose today to forsake sin and choose to serve JESUS through total submission to GOD, his WORD and his MINISTERS. Your own way and path will lead only to your own destruction.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

Father forgive us in JESUS name we know you have the power and authority to totally destroy everything at anytime you desire. Forgive us for being selfish, carnal and prideful. In JESUS name.

  9. The earth will be completely emptied and looted. The Lord has spoken! The earth mourns and dries up, and the crops waste away and wither. Even the greatest people on earth waste away. The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse consumes the earth. Its people must pay the price for their sin. They are destroyed by fire, and only a few are left alive. (Isaiah 24:3-6 NLT)

This is the price of sin!

When we decide to sin, we must remember that sin has an affect not only for you, but all are affected by sin.(family) it hurts, it stinks, it pushes us back, it keeps us in bondage and we are not able to become all The Lord wants us to become. It literally sets you back wondering where you left off at and how can one get back.

This takes prayer, reading the word, fasting, and praise and worship. Even when you don’t feel like it. Even if you font feel the victory as of yet.

Yes the bible clearly says that the wages of sin is death. But, if you understand and believe His word you’ll understand that we serve a merciful God. He doesn’t want none to perish. It’s time that I turn away from my wicked ways and turn to a merciful God! I must repent of all of my sins.
    Lord examine my heart.

  10. 14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.

15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

Glorify God in all circumstances and situations sing praises at all times because in the mists of the fire and under the sea God is still GOD

  11. Verses 5 NIV “The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant.” People have disobeyed, violated and broken the very things that God had put in place for us to follow. This is why our walk with the Lord is a daily process of repentance. We must pray daily for the Lord to forgive us as we are human and fail him whether we realize it or not.

  12. 5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

Sin has turned the world upside down. It is far from what God had intended on this earth. People being lovers of themselves and wanting to go against the word of God. Children disobeying their parents and son against father, mother against daughter, what is this world coming to? These things are going on in the world and God forbid we let this creep into the church. Carnal joy will end and then what? As it has been said before the only regret someone has of living in sin or doing something wrong is being found out. The bible says your sins will find you out.

But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out. Numbers 32:23
Don’t let no man, carnal thinking, or things take your joy in the Lord. Stand up for what is right. Be a light and if someone ask you about something and its aganist what you believe take a stand and be honest. If we are ashamed of God he will be ashamed of us.
The joy of the Lord is my strength…..what has your joy today?

  13. 5 The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore, a curse consumes the earth Its people must pay the price for their sin. (NLT)

First, I thank God everyday for revealing the truth to me.. Second, I thank God daily for the ability to repent.. There is no telling where I would be today if God had not opened my eyes. I’m so very grateful that I’m not the same person as I used to be. I repent daily for things known, and unknown.

  14. 4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

The things of this earth will fade away, then what will you have? Hopefully Jesus! Nothing in this world can satisfy us or make us feel the way Jesus does. Forgive me, us, Lord for trying to satisfy, by breaking commitment with You and breaking Your covenant and commandments with things of this world. I have found that only You can satisfy what I had been searching for.

  15. This chapter is a chapter Christians can look to fro comfort and strength–as reminder that the walk we walk is not fro nothing. That the world isn’t getting away with murder, that they too will have to answer for all the wrong they have done.

  16. Because of the way they disobeyed

5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

Wow what consequences. We are to obey. Not just the things that we like but all things. We are to read and understand so that we can be blameless, not die due to lack of knowledge. If we know that man says that it is alright to do something that God calls wrong, we shouldn’t do it. Listen to God. Obey his commands. If your not sure what they are then you need to read to find out.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)

    Read. Study. Listen. Obey.

  17. “I am making everything new!”

So far Isaiah warns of God’s judgment on certain cities and nations, but now he prophesies a devastation of the entire earth. The Lord will “lay waste to the earth” because of all of its inhabitants’ sins (Isa 24:5). The judgment will not only affect the entire earth, it will also affect every race, economic strata and position of its people. Many interpret this destruction as taking place in the last days of human history. The good news is that after crushing the earth, God will create something new- the new Jerusalem- a magnificent city- for the righteous (vs 1-2).

Rev talks about the new Jerusalem, the holy city which God will bring down from heaven: 10“Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world. 11I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown. 12All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God—the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name.”

A New Heaven and A New Earth

Rev 21:1 “Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”a for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’b or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” 5He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

  18. We see here that Isaiah is prophecing about the end days. What a great time to be living. Gods Spirit is pouring out on all flesh. And we get the chance to see it happen.

  19. 5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

It is time to search ourselves and see where we truly stand in God. Are we true to his word with our ways? Do our lifestyles match up with his expectations? Now is the time to look inward and repent and let go of this world so we are qualified for Heaven.

  20. Chapter 23: Isaiah sees a Panorama: Or more accurately he saw a collage of future events. Some commentators get lost trying to decide whether Isaiah sees the Assyrians’ subjugation of Tyre and the rest of Phoenicia or the destruction of Tyre by the Chaldeans under Nebuchadnezzar. The former was accomplished under Sargon II beginning about 720 BC and the latter about 120 years later close to 600 BC. Actually Isaiah mentions conditions and events that can only be described as a panorama or collage of the whole of the future history of Tyre. This has caused some skeptics to assume interpolations and spurious additions which satisfy the offended minds of these critics. That kind of solution is always easy as it requires zero scholarship. All that is needed is confusion fed by doubt. For the critic it does clear up the contradictions easily so that route is taken by not a few. The reason for the confusion is that Isaiah not only mentions events in the future history of Tyre that are contemporary with his life time; (for instance the futile flight of the rulers of Tyre to Cyprus in the face of the Assyrian invasion) but he also cites events that are in the Chaldean and Persian periods as well. Tyre did not become an island city until after the destruction by the Chaldeans. Isaiah calls Tyre an isle. Alexander destroyed an island city. The Chaldeans are mentioned in this chapter as the instruments of her first destruction. Her colonies assisted in her rebuilding during the Persian Period when the second commonwealth of Judah was helped by the economic revival brought to the region by Tyre’s being restored as an international trade center. Isaiah sees and records a panorama of all these events. Seeing this more correctly removes the confusion . Dismissing the skeptics and their cynical approach and placing confidence in the integrity of the text of Isaiah is not only more reasonable it makes the section meaningful.

    1. The burden of Tyre. Howl, you ships of Carthage; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

  21. Verse Eleven:
” There is a crying for cine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land.”

Chaos and ruins surround us and people are still “crying for [their] wine”. Its sin that has polluted the world yet people “cry” for their ways despite their surroundings. Its time for me and everyone to give Jesus our all, put Him in the center of our life and stop “crying for wine.”

  22. Do you hear that?

8 The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.

There was sin in the camp and God’s judgement had to be unleashed. There are two types of quiet…
    1. People will cease to rejoice because there is sin in there lives and they feel the conviction of God. They fail to praise because they are stuck in the mess.
    2. Then there is a quietness where God shuts you up because your living in sin and playing the part. You know that you should cry at the alter so you do, you know to say amen, and to clap your hands but your heart is far from God.

I refuse to down grade my walk with God to be just a “part” but it is a lifestyle. We have all fallen into sin but it takes a real women or man of God to get up, go through the punishment of their sin, and still fight for their rightful place in the kingdom. We are anointed and with the help of God if we find ourselves in a bad place… Repent and get up and do right. We can make it with God on our side.

Search me oh God. I want to be right in your eyes not my own.

  23. 16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously

only through our submission are we able to turn our “leanness” to fatness, and be annointed. We must be submitted to the man of God, so that we can stay victorious…

  24. 10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

Our city is confused and all shut up. Many of them are prisoners in their own homes. Let’s take the gospel to them and release them to walk in liberty.

  25. We will all be judged no matter our titles. All that is wicked he will get rid of and all the righteous he will save. The Lord is going to protect the people who obey and follow his commands. The Lord will not stand for pride and rebellion.

I want nothing more than to serve the Lord, I pray that the enemy who seeks to kill, steal and destroy me and my loved ones will be taken down and cast to darkness where it belongs in Jesus Name.

Lord may your will be done.

  26. Lookin for love in all the wrong places

And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

There comes a time in your life when you have to run to Jesus. Nothing else will do, every other alternative has been exhausted, the road has run out of lanes. This is why people that run from the cops always wreck. They have no other choice because they are going to run out of gas sometime, they cant very well stop at the service station and put a pause on the chase. The devil is not going to give you a time out friend! he will push you to the death, he will make you think there is no way out. The pit is waiting and there is no turning back.

But I know a redeemer!!!!! I know the name that is above every name !!!!!

I understand that Jesus came to save ME from the pits of hell.

No matter how bad it looks you can always repent. His grace is always there if you remember his promises. it is when we are not in the book that we forget where to turn to when all hell brakes loose. Dont look to Dr. Phil for some common sense junk that God has already given you a brain for. Dont be a fool and walk away from the Word of God that he has given us to answer every trap that is set before us. And dont give the devil all the credit for your storm because I have found out that God lets the storm come so that you can remember where to turn to.

Look for love and your answers in Christ Jesus, everything else is temporary. He is everlasting to everlasting

  27. 20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

The earth may reel but Jesus is still the rock! As long as the foundation is sure it won’t matter how big the storm is.

    Matthew 7:24-25
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not:for it was founded upon a rock.

  28. This chapter reminds me that everything here on earth will fade away one day. We work hard to attain material things and provide for our loved ones. If we really thought about it would it be worth it if that pursuit would cost us our relationship with Christ?

  29. This chapter shows me how important Gods covenants are in the word of God. God rendered serious judgment to those who disobeyed and violated his covenant.
We need to make sure that we strive to keep every promise that we make to God and we keep ourself free from this world to do the work and will of God in our lives.

  30. Rejoice

6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

7 The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted do sigh.

8 The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.

9 They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.

    Psalms 37:4
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

    Song of Songs 1:2
…for thy love is better than wine.

    Psalms 16:11
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

What would stop us from delighting in the Lord and rejoicing in Him? V6 says “therefore hath the curse devoured;” sin devours our ability to rejoice in the Lord.

    1 John 3:18-22
18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. 20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

If rejoicing in the wine of God’s love feels dry and joyless; it’s time to check access to God. Sin cuts us off but condemnation keeps us distanced as well. Every wall must come down that we might freely rejoicing in the Lord!

    Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

  31. 1 Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

A lot of the people of this earth have been acting like the Word says “fools” saying to themselves and in their hearts, there is no God. However the judgement of God is coming. And it will be to everyone. Here is an example that God is not a respecter of persons. A fool is not someone who did not have education or schooling of some sort, but rather a fool is that which lives life as if there is no God, with no boundaries, no laws… There is a God and just as He is great love he is also consuming fire.

  32. 15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

The name of the Lord is to be glorified. When we glorify God, he gives us strength. The glory of the Lord will shine in the darkest places.

  33. Run and be devoured

Fear , and the pit , and the snare , are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth .
And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit ; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare : for the windows from on high are open , and the foundations of the earth do shake .
The NET restates it as follows:

Terror, pit, and snare are ready to overtake you inhabitants of the earth!
The one who runs away from the sound of the terror will fall into the pit; the one who climbs out of the pit, will be trapped by the snare. For the floodgates of the heavens are opened up and the foundations of the earth shake.

Here we see the importance of standing our ground rather than fleeing. By doing so we see salvation (Exodus 14:13, Acts 8:38), hear the commandment from God (Num 9:8), allow the man of God to reason with us before God (I Sam 12:7), and be in awe of Gods wondrous works (Job 37:14)

If we run will we fall in a pit or a hole. We will be unable to move forward and will be stuck. Then if we find a way out of that pit, we will be tangled by the snare. This all starts with fear. If we fear, we are not in God’s Spirit. God is love and perfect love casts out all fear (I John 4:18) Fear is tormenting and God commanded us to have his peace (Phil 4:7, Col 3:15). Fear in us means we do not have God’s perfect love in our lives.
Fear is can be natural and it is how we respond to that fear that we need to notice. We can trust God and overcome it, or we can doubt God and let it torment us. If it torments us, we will fall into the pit and the snares of our adversaries, and we may be devoured.

God wants you to wait on him.

But those who wait for the LORD’s help find renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings, they run without growing weary, they walk without getting tired.

Stand still in the face of fear and trust God that way you can win.

II Samuel 22:31 He is our defense
Psalm 18:2 he is our foundation, fortress, deliverer, strength, shield, salvation, and watch tower (to warn us of enemy assault)

Do not fear, be confident in Jesus. He will show up, off, and out!!

  34. Not of this World

17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.

The spirit of The Lord has raised us up to a new standard. We become not of this world but of His kingdom when we allow the spirit of God to penetrate out lives… If we cintinually renew our mind, body and soul in Him we can overcome anything. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.
