Isaiah 25

1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.

Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.

12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

  1. 3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee

This chapter covers both the strong and the terrible.

The strong people shall glorify the LORD. It takes a strong person to praise God the way he likes praise.

Remember David went 6 paces with the Ark [which represented the spirit of God] and danced before the LORD with all his might. I wonder if when we come together to worship and praise God if we do this with all our might.
Would someone tell me what would happen if we praised God at church with all our might. The word teaches us that where 2 or 3 are gathered together he [JESUS CHRIST] will be in the midst of them.

Just to clear things up, when we receive the Holy Ghost we have Christ in us, the hope of glory. So this means he will be with us, this river of living waters springing up inside us. We should always feel his presence every where we are.

If we would begin to praise him with all our might, there is no telling what God would do for us!!

    LET’S GLORIFY THE LORD!!

On the other hand the city of terrible nations, homosexuals, whoremonger, etc. These people fear the LORD and with just cause.
The word tells us God is angry everyday with the wicked.

We have a choice to be a saint or a sinner. Life or death, please let me make a wise choice.

  2. 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

God is my strength he protects me me he wants to guard me from this world that Will try to take us down into sin

  3. O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them. (Isaiah 25:1 NLT)

To TRUST JESUS is all I need to know.
Seeing that He is with me through and will see me through it all. It brings me peace, comfort, and strength.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (Proverbs 3:5, 6 NLT)

I’m thankful to know that “Jesus is the author and finisher of our (my) faith.

  4. God is our refuge and strength. He we bring us out and deliver us if we will allow him Lordship of our lives. We will dwell with him in the Holy city if we will follow his commands and repent, be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost.

  5. 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

    Isaiah 40:31 KJV
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I can just imagine the pride in their voice as they are saying, “Did you see that? The One who just destroyed death, tears, and rebuke – that’s my God!”

Like watching a good fight when ‘your guy’ wins and you brag to your friends, you get excited again describing how he beat up the opponent. Our God always wins and loves it when we brag on Him, so lets get excited about telling others what God has done and start bragging on Him.

  6. 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

What is said about you? As we are the church, what is said about us ? Our church has been called a hospital. Which means that the hurt comes in to get better. The needy will come in to find food, and those that can’t take the heat of life will come in to find rest. Yes we are a hospital.

  7. MY GOD

1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

The greatest travesty today is that multitudes of people go to church every week never confess with their mouth and life “Oh LORD, thou art MY GOD”. Too often he is praised and worshiped as someone else’s GOD. His death was for every child ever born. HIS desire is to FILL every LIFE with HIMSELF the HOLY GHOST!

When HE becomes “my GOD” we will allow HIM to lead us, guide us, direct us and correct us. HIS death on the cross was an open door for humanity to be FILLED with HIS spirit, as displayed on the day of Pentecost.

When HE becomes “my GOD” we will not be searching and seeking for satisfaction and pleasure in any other thing in this life or world. The pleasures of this present world will not be enticing or appetizing.

When HE becomes “my GOD” we will not be quiet or silent about HIM; we will BOLDLY proclaim to ALL that HE is “my GOD” and he has DONE wonderful things; if we will be thankful for ALL that he has dome for us we will find HIM in every situation and circumstance.

  8. Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you and praise your name,
    for in perfect faithfulness
    you have done wonderful things,
    things planned long ago. NIV

God is my strength during the time of my trail. Gotta praise him thru the storm. How you handle your storm is weather you will go thru that storm again. God give me strength and wisdom to do what your will is. Sometimes during our (my) storm we want to take it ourselves but when we do that we are in God’s way. God will protect his people. This is just the chorus of the song Praise You In The Storm, this is my heart this morning. Is it hard sometimes during a storm to lift your hands, you better believe it. But gotta put my trust in God and let him guide us thru.

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
    No matter where I am
    And every tear I’ve cried
    You hold in Your hand
    You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

  9. We Win!

8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

    Hebrews 2:14
    Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood , he also himself likewise took part of the same ; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death , that is , the devil ;

The old saying is that there are two things in this life that are certain:
    death and taxes…

    Jesus said:

    Matthew 22:21
They say unto him , Caesar’s . Then saith he unto them , Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s ; and unto God the things that are God’s.

This means you have to pay your taxes, but…

    John 6:50
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven , that a man may eat thereof , and not die .

I chose life! Examine me Lord today that i may find your grace and repent that I may live and not die.

  10. iLove to eat the Word

“Listen to the Counsel of the Lord”

O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

We have to learn to listen to the counsel of the Lord and those in authority over us.

The only time it’s easy to listen, is when we open our ears and want to hear what’s being said. A young man once asked counsel of me and I advised him to take the advice of his Pastor…He said, “Yeah, I know what you’re saying but I’m probably still going to do what I want to do.”

If he’s going to do what he wants to do then why ask me for advice? Because it was a trap. People are looking for escape routes and are willing to sacrifice you and your well standing with the pastor to get it. “Well, Brother Morgan said it was ok…”

With that being said, we need a renewing of a desire to accept and receive the counsel of God…

and guess how we can hear his voice…through the Word that comes through our Pastor…Reject him, and you’re rejecting God.

  11. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Amen praise God Almighty, he is so good!!!!

  12. Verse 1 AMP “O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, even purposes planned of old [and fulfilled] in faithfulness and truth.”

This first verse was the one that caught my attention. “..You are my God…” and “I will”. It is a choice…your choice! Do not let anyone or anything ever tell you that you are to far gone to be forgiven. You claim your God, ask for forgiveness and never look back. Now begins the “I’s”
Phillipians 4:13 AMP says “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].”

  13. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Let him be your God. Hide yourself under the wings of the Almighty. He is our help in time of trouble. He is faithful. He is quick to forgive and his mercy endureth forever. He will do great things for us when we are submitted to him. I ask him to be my strength and my help daily!

  14. 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as storm against the wall.

Notice how God is the strength to the poor and needy. MONEY ISN’T.
Its never going to be. In your trial and tribulations, don’t ask for 1 Million dollars; ask for Jesus!

  15. 1.- o lord thou art my GOD; I will exalt thee,I will praise thy name; for thou has done wonderful things; thine counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
    ——
I repent: for letting things, circumstances ( in the
Eyes of faith)look bigger than my GOD.
My God is BIG!!!!!bigger than anything….
I want him to be my Only GOD
I Need him to be my only GOD
He must be my only God.
He desires to be my only God.

  16. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
God you deserve all glory and honor for all that you have done in my life….you’ve helped me through many things and I will follow you.

4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

You have always been there and I thank you….God I am sorry and I pray you will help me and guide me through all my storms…..my eyes will be focused on you and only you. I love you God.

  17. 9-10 Also at that time, people will say,
“Look at what’s happened! This is our God!
We waited for him and he showed up and saved us!
This God, the one we waited for!
Let’s celebrate, sing the joys of his salvation.
God’s hand rests on this mountain!”
10-12 As for the Moabites, they’ll be treated like refuse,
    waste shoveled into a cesspool.
    Thrash away as they will,
like swimmers trying to stay afloat,
    They’ll sink in the sewage.
Their pride will pull them under.
Their famous fortifications will crumble to nothing,
those mighty walls reduced to dust.

We don’t know the day when our God is coming. That is why every day we need to give him our highest prasie like he is here already. We can’t just think that today is just another day, cause today maybe that day when he comes. If we just let a day go by we let pride take that day from us. We are the people of God we can’t let pride take over us or our city!

  18. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

    John 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

The Word of the Lord stands forever. It will never return void, and it cannot lie, it is forever settled in Heaven. If we take counsel with His word, study it out, seek for ourselves the answers, sure up our foundation, we will not fail. It is when we begin twisting His word to suit our own answers and desires that we bring confusion to our lives. We must take it at it’s value, adding nothing, taking nothing away.

    1 Kings 2:4
That the Lord may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

  19. 4 For You have been a stronghold for the poor, a stronghold for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the blast of the ruthless ones is like a rainstorm against a wall. (AMP)

    * I thought of Psalm 23 when reading this chapter… I think because it reminds me that I’m not and none of us are ever alone; God is always with us and watching over us. Trials may be hard but nothing is too hard for my God, He will bring peace through the storm until the end.

    Psalm23–
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

  20. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Today I just praise him for He has done wonderful things and for His Word. What more could I ask for? My God is awesome, faithful and He is worthy of my praise.

  21. Vs. 1, “O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.”

Vs. 4, “For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.”

O LORD, you are my God! I will praise your name – JESUS! You have done Wonderful things! You are my Refuge and Strength, a very present help in trouble! (Ps, 46:1) Thank You that I can hide under the shadow of thy wings and I am safe!

  22. 9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

  23. HALELUJAH!!!
12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.
IT’S NEVER GOOD TO BE PRIDEFUL OR ARROGANT!!! SANTO!!! SANTO!!! SANTO!!! MY GOD IS A JUST GOD!!!
    HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! GRACIAS PADRE!!!

  24. To me this chapter speaks about His strength and the power He possess. When we (I) obey God and listen to His will that’s when we get the victory through our storm. Through the storm is when you take your hands off and give it to God and let Him work. God take control of my life and lead me where you want me. I want to sit in your presence and be right with you. Thank you God for keeping your hand on me.

  25. From a study tool website, i found online–

“Read Isaiah 25:4-5. These two verses are filled with imagery. We have two main groups of people who are being described here: 1) the poor and needy and 2) the ruthless and the foreigners. The first part talks of the poor and needy being protected (by God) from the storm and from the heat. As we read on, we see that the ruthless foreigners are compared to the storm and the heat of the desert. As just a side note, in our age of wood and steel buildings we don’t worry too much about storms driving against walls, but remember in Isaiah’s time walls were made of mud brick, so if you had a particularly rainy storm, all that driving rain could be damaging your wall, literally “melting” it.

As we discussed earlier, the ruthless and the foreigners are those who are in opposition against God, and here we can go one step further and see that they are also those who oppress others, in this case, the poor and needy. I believe Isaiah is speaking here of the Christians, who must run to God to be their refuge and strength against the oppression and persecution of the ungodly. Compare these verses in Isaiah to these in Psalms. Read Psalms 72:12-14. We should also review Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-29. We are the poor and needy, weak and helpless before the ruthless without God.”

This passage reminded me that I’m not doing a good job of running to God. I’m running from the world, but I often forget to run to God. In every situation that I face I must run to God. No matter how big or small, because it is often the small things that eat away at our core. I pray that my running will not be in vein but with a purpose, and the only way I can insure that is to continue to run toward my God.

  26. 4 For thou has been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is against the wall.

Notice how God was the strength to the needy and poor. Don’t chase after worldly things such as money for divine healing and complete peace. Jesus is the only TRUE way!

  27. 9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

    This is our God!

Unity is prevalent. The Lord showed hiself mighty on the heels of togetherness, and unity. When we join hand in hand for the cause of Christ hell can’t stop it.

Our God still opens blind eyes. Our God still heals from cancer. Our God still opens doors, creates, and provides. He will never leave or forsake us.

Proclaim it loud! This is our God!

The world proclaims their God through their music, clothing, entertainment, and lifestyle. As children of God our light must shine, and beam like a beacon pointing the way to the father!

  28. 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

Lord my prayer tonight is that you be all that this verse says you will be. You are my strength, refuge and fortress.

    You are my God!

  29. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old areso faithfulness and truth.

Truly I will praise the Lord for he is good. There are so many wonderful things that God had done. He is an awesome God.

  30. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

    Faithfulness and truth

As I grow I want to continue to grow in faithfulness and in truth.

  31. Mountain Feast

Life a king hosting his coronation feast or like a great wedding feast (Mt 22:1-14) the Lord calls his people to Mount Zion for a celebration. He spares nothing: They eat rich food and drink the best wine. The king also removes the shroud of death from the world, wipes away tears and erases the hostility toward believers. The apostle Paul refers to this time and claims, “Death has been swallowing up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where O death, is your sting? ..Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1Co 15:54-55,57). The apostle John also talks about the great feast of the “wedding supper of the Lamb” Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”(Rev 19:9). These Mount Zion guests celebrate the final victory through Jesus, because of the power of the blood of Jesus. Now all we have to do is use the wisdom gained by walking in His Spirit and “5Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Invitations went out for the wedding feast on Mount Zion, and a similar invitation went out from wisdom. Both are intertwined we must have wisdom to both get into and stay faithful in the ‘race’ (Acts 20:24, 2Tim 4:7, Gal 5:7, 1 Cor 9:24) to heaven’s victory feast.

    Pr 9:1 Wisdom has built her house;
she has set upa its seven pillars.
    2She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine;
she has also set her table.
3She has sent out her servants, and she calls
from the highest point of the city,
4“Let all who are simple come to my house!”
To those who have no sense she says,
    5“Come, eat my food
and drink the wine I have mixed.
    6Leave your simple ways and you will live;
walk in the way of insight.”

  32. The Lord will give opportunities to those who have done wrong, it’s up to us to know the purpose of God, Accept consequences that may arise when we disobey God’s will.

The Lord Loves us so much that he forgives us.

  33. 4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

The Lord is my strength. He is my song. He is my refuge from the storms of life. He walks out in the mist of the storm and calms me when all I see is the wind around me. Thank you Jesus for being my strength, refuge, and joy.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. (Psalms 46:1-3 KJV)

  34. Victory

12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

The walls of separation will fall in Fort Worth! Drugs, alcohol, immorality, violence… the walls will fall and death will be swallowed up in victory! There will be a resounding praise as the redeemed of the Lord say so!

    Psalms 107:1-3
1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; 3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

    Revelation 12:11
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

  35. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

    8. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

This chapter reminded of the psalms. It almost sounded like another psalm written by David. He had the kind of intimate personal relationship with God that was exemplary. He knew God and the Lord knew him. Many times he express this intimacy in the for of “ownership” if one could call it that way: his words, “my God” the Lord my God. A zeal, a passion, a love that is only birthed with relationship…because of it therefore he had trust in God. He knew him as a fortress, a present help in tribulation, a strong tower, a shadow of covering.
With Christ, my God, I am victorious!

    Romans 6:6-8
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

  36. This chapter illustrates might. One that is faithful and trusts in the Lord will have; “For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  37. 1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
God has done so many things in my life. More than I deserve. It would be selfish of me not to praise Him in return.
4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
There has been times where I needed strength. God has never failed to give me the strength for every situation.. And with my walk with God I have needed Him to wrap His unfailing arms around me. And He has done just that. I know that whatever cards I’m dealt I will be ok, cause of God.
8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
I AM VICTORIOUS!! God has wiped many tears from my face. It brings joy to my heart knowing that if I’m going throw a storm all I have to do is look up..

  38. The Strong will survive

3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.

4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

The strong will glorify God. How do we become strong? Trust in God in humility. Service, God resists the pround and exhalts the humble.

We lower our selves and in our weekness he is strong. As we weather through the stroms we glorify him by being humble and needing him to be our refuge.

  39. Victory is mine
7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

You might not see the mountain that you face but God will reveal all and you will be victorious in Him. Run to Him in your time of need and He will
    Provide.
