Isaiah 30

1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:

10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.

14 And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.

15 For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

16 But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.

18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.

20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:

21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

22 Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.

23 Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.

24 The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

27 Behold, the name of the Lord cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

29 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the mighty One of Israel.

30 And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

31 For through the voice of the Lord shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.

32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the Lord shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

33 For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.

  1. 1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

    Whose counsil do you seek?

Many people seek council that affirms what they want to hear. One will go and ask for advice from many people until they hear what they want to hear. This shouldn’t be. The only council we should adhere to is the word of God, and they only people we should take heed to are the ones who are praying. People who pray will give advice that adheres to the word of God. These people are generally the leadership of the church. The ordained of God.

V2 the people who walk in the ways of sin and the ways of the world have not asked God. When you exercise worldy practice and dress, you strengthen your deceit and walk in a shadow of death. Sin is pleasurable for a season, then you die. Remove yourself from Worldy mentalities.

There is a better way. It is a way of humility. Cast down the towers of pride and humble yourself. Lets be exhaluted in humility, love, and grace.

  2. 18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

It pays to wait and obey God…

    Isaiah 30:19-26 MSG
19-22 Oh yes, people of Zion, citizens of Jerusalem, your time of tears is over. Cry for help and you’ll find it’s grace and more grace. The moment he hears, he’ll answer. Just as the Master kept you alive during the hard times, he’ll keep your teacher alive and present among you. Your teacher will be right there, local and on the job, urging you on whenever you wander left or right: “This is the right road. Walk down this road.” You’ll scrap your expensive and fashionable god-images. You’ll throw them in the trash as so much garbage, saying, “Good riddance!”

23-26 God will provide rain for the seeds you sow. The grain that grows will be abundant. Your cattle will range far and wide. Oblivious to war and earthquake, the oxen and donkeys you use for hauling and plowing will be fed well near running brooks that flow freely from mountains and hills. Better yet, on the Day God heals his people of the wounds and bruises from the time of punishment, moonlight will flare into sunlight, and sunlight, like a whole week of sunshine at once, will flood the land.

  3. 9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:

10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

When we hear the words a rebellious people, what would make people be rebellious and not want to submit to God? A people that would not hear the law of the Lord.
This is the way a lot of people are today and do want to hear the truth.
They want the prophets not to prophecy what God tells them but good things.
Please we need not to hear what we want to hear but what God thinks.
I pray everyday that the spirit of deception does not affect our lives. God please let us hear the word of the Lord.
The word of the Lord is a two edged sword it cuts both ways.
I am reminded of an old song{PREACHER PREACH TO ME}.
Let’s trust in the Lord and not our perverseness.

  4. WARNING!!!!!!!!!!

So, go now and write all this down. Put it in a book So that the record will be there to instruct the coming generations, Because this is a rebel generation, a people who lie, A people unwilling to listen to anything God tells them. They tell their spiritual leaders, “Don’t bother us with irrelevancies.” They tell their preachers, “Don’t waste our time on impracticalities. Tell us what makes us feel better. Don’t bore us with obsolete religion. That stuff means nothing to us. Quit hounding us with The Holy of Israel.” Therefore, The Holy of Israel says this: “Because you scorn this Message, Preferring to live by injustice and shape your lives on lies, This perverse way of life will be like a towering, badly built wall That slowly, slowly tilts and shifts, and then one day, without warning, collapses— Smashed to bits like a piece of pottery, smashed beyond recognition or repair, Useless, a pile of debris to be swept up and thrown in the trash.” (Isaiah 30:8-14 MSG)

    Oh JESUS….
This is so true in our generation today!!
I will say this, GOD I thank You for Placing a Godly Man over my life. A man that doesn’t water down the truth. But at all times speaks the truth!!!!! I was just mentioning the other day that there is no other church that I have attended in the last 15 years that can be compared to POFW. AND IT’S ALL BECAUSE WE HAVE A GODLY MAN, PASTOR MICHEAL WATTS, that is leading us into greater(deeper) walk with The Lord.

  5. The days of today where everyone wants to be sweet talked and don’t like to listen to the truth; not me that is why I love my Pastor Watts and Sis Watts there is no sugar coating anything!!!!! Keep speaking the TRUTH POFW the world needs to hear it.

  6. Vs.1, “WOE to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin.”
Vs.2, “That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt.”
Vs.3, “Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.”

Rebellious means resisting authority; engaged in rebellion. It means opposing any counsel; defiant.

We’ve heard it said many times that Egypt is a type of the world, and this world is full of confusion. Why? Because people are rebellious. They don’t want to take authority or counseling from anyone. They want to do their own thing and live their own way, adding sin to sin. They especially don’t want to listen to God or the man of God.

There is an answer for the confusion in peoples lives today. First, seek the counsel of the LORD by PRAYING and READING HIS WORD. Be filled with HIS SPIRIT – the HOLY GHOST. Secondly, listen to the authority of the man of God. Listen to the counseling that he brings over the pulpit when he preaches. When you do these things, God will take away confusion, give direction in your life and give you peace.

Thank you Jesus for being my counselor. Thank you for the man and woman of God you have put in my life (Pastor and Sis. Watts). Thank you that I am covered by your spirit – the HOLY GHOST !

  7. FALSE HOPE

3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Disobedience and rebellion are very dangerous attitudes to portray and display.

GOD considers it rebellion to turn to someone in this world for help before we even consult HIM for direction and instruction. The world is ALL about deception, rebellion and pride. The god of this world is satan, GOD vigorously discharged satan from heaven and bound him to the earth and permitted him to have influence here on earth. Therefore anything we gain from this world, counsel, insight, protection is of the devil.

Much like our society today, people take their riches to attempt to find happiness and counsel. Spending millions of dollars each day in an attempt to be entertained and encouraged.

    AMP
6 A mournful, inspired prediction (a burden to be lifted up) concerning the beasts of the South (the Negeb): Oh, the heavy burden, the load of treasures going to Egypt! Through a land of trouble and anguish, in which are lioness and lion, viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures upon the humps of camels, to a people that will not and cannot profit them.
7 For Egypt’s help is worthless and toward no purpose.

Also like today’s society outcome is devastation and defeat. Most people do not want to hear TRUTH a true prophesy from the WORD of GOD.

    AMP
    9 For this is a rebellious people, faithless and lying sons, children who will not hear the law and instruction of the Lord;
10 Who [virtually] say to the seers [by their conduct], See not! and to the prophets, Prophesy not to us what is right! Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceitful illusions.

REBELLION and PRIDE will guarantee DECEIT.

This world and its system; entertainment, drugs, alcohol, sex, hatred, envy, strife, etc can only offer a FALSE HOPE. It will all be destroyed by the HAND of GOD.

Psalm 147:11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

My HOPE is in the LORD JESUS!

Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.

13 O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.

What Spirit are You Listening to?

“Those who refuse to be under the covering of authority, walk naked and are in danger of being seduced.”

1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:

10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

An Example out of the Word of God

2 Chronicles 18:12-22 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spake to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one assent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good. 13 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak. 14 And when he was come to the king, the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand. 15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD? 16 Then he said, I did see all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace. 17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good unto me, but evil? 18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left. 19 And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spake saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner. 20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? 21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the LORD said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so. 22 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.

*********** Anytime we ask for advice from those in authority over us and decide to go our own way, we are in danger of listening to a seducing spirit. God is not to be mocked, he will not force us to listen to him or to his prophets. He gives us a free choice…but there is always an anxious seducing spirit waiting for an opportunity to deceive. ************

Colossians 3:18-22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. 22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

  10. We must put our trust and confidence in God; turn to Him before all else in times of trouble. Today’s society does the total opposite, trying to look for other ways to cope through the days trials. But it doesn’t work! Only God can help us and save us. He is waiting on us to move and look to Him; He wants to know that we really desire His help, so turn to God in the midst of your valley and He will see you and extend His love and grace towards you.

18 So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.
19 O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will be gracious if you ask for help. He will surely respond to the sound of your cries. (NLT)

  11. 21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

If we seek the Lord, we will find Him. The Word says that He gives us the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us…..We must listen and apply it to our lives. There are 66 books in the bible to find answers. On our knees we can find answers. All we have to do is seek and according to His word, we will find. Too many times we make decisions without seeking His word and praying regarding the matter. We make the decision in the flesh, and then when the decision was not a good one, we must face the consequences of our actions. God knows our end from the beginning, He knows our down sitting and our uprising. Lord help us to slow down, and listen so that we may walk in the way and know when to go and when to stop, when to turn to the left, when to turn to the right.

  12. 10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceit:

People have always want to hear good things; they fear correction and discipline.
We aren’t that different today. We ignore what pastor tells us like we know everything. All he ever does is try to help us as much as he can. If you think you know so much you don’t have to listen, that’s pure pride, stupidity, and rebellion! There is NO way around that. That is the TRUTH.

Listen and DO what Pastor Watts tells you with a good, humble heart.
    God speaks through him.

  13. 1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

This is so true today-sad but true. People have their salvation all worked out themselves outside of God’s word. But because “Miracles Still Happen” I know that through our prayers we will see many come to the truth and return to the truth.

  14. 15 For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

When we start making our own decisions and trusting in our own understandings we’re setting ourselfs up for failure. The council we should take is in the Lord, but when we don’t because we think we got it he will let us go and watch us fail so he can be the kind loving God that he is and pick us back up again. It’s allot easier to do what we think could be God’s will instead of actually waiting for it, but in the end if we manipulate God’s will to be what we want it to be it won’t be as it could/should be. We can’t leave the covering of God or the mean of God. We must stay submitted.

  15. 1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

It seems as if everyone understand this but who trully stops and asks God for counsel about what you should do, eat, and even say. Yes this may sound silly, but think about it. What could God really show you if you did ask him? Not only that, but you would probably get in a habbit and when the day comes when a test or a storm comes your way and there is nothing you personaly can do, what would you do, with a habbit like that? simple, ASK GOD. call out for His counsel and pass your test and make it safe out of the storm. Simple.

  16. 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

God gave us teachers to teach us what that we do not know. Without teachers we would not know how to do anything. The ultimate teacher is God. He is the first to teach Adam and Eve how to take care of the land. Pastor teaches us about the spiritual and gives us guidance on how to overcome that which we face. Thank God for all the teachers in my life.

  17. So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help. O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will be gracious if you ask for help. He will surely respond to the sound of your cries. Though the Lord gave you adversity for food and suffering for drink, he will still be with you to teach you. You will see your teacher with your own eyes. Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left. Then you will destroy all your silver idols and your precious gold images. You will throw them out like filthy rags, saying to them, “Good riddance!” Then the Lord will bless you with rain at planting time. There will be wonderful harvests and plenty of pastureland for your livestock. (Isaiah 30:18-23 NLT)

Oh Lord have your way in my life

  18. 7 For Egypt’s help is worthless and toward no purpose. Therefore I have called her Rahab Who Sits Still. (AMP)

18 And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!

Why would you want to seek counsel from someone whose help is worthless and has no purpose? Jesus is the only one that has strength to do anything! And he waits for us to seek for his counsel. He is the one and only Counselor!

  19. 1“What sorrow awaits my rebellious children,” says the Lord.“You make plans that are contrary to mine. You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins.2 For without consulting me, you have gone down to Egypt for help.

We must remember that would should seek God 1st at all times. When trouble arise or storms begin to move in, we must go to him first. Even when we are tempted to get advice from pastor or spiritual leader, we must give honor to our God and seek out his counsel 1st.

20 Though the Lord gave you adversity for food and suffering for drink,he will still be with you to teach you.You will see your teacher with your own eyes.21 Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.

God will guide us, if only we would give him the chance and stop relying on others. We might not have to seek him in pray for healing if we would have seeked him in pray for guidance.

  20. This chapter illustrates awakening. False direction and safety was deceiving them. One must awaken one’s self and see that true direction and safety is from God; “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  21. Trust God

    Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

A lack of trust opens the door to rebellion. In proverbs 3 we see that trust and understanding are linked together somehow. If we trust God we will not lean on ourselves and our own thinking but we will lean on Him. Then He can direct our path. You may say how does all this relate to Isaiah 30?

If they would have just trusted God they would not have fallen in rebellion by trusting in their own confidence. As a carnal man when you sin you often sin again to cover up the first sin but when you have the mind of God if you sin you find a alter to repent because you realize repentance is needed. You trust God enough to help you through the storm through the open door of repentance and not a closed door of rebellion.

We can not allow sin to be our covering but we must allow God to be our refuge. He is our strength and our guide but we must trust him. Even when we are going through the storms of life and seem to be surrounded on all sides. He is there to transform our situation into a stepping stone. Or maybe we have fallen into sin if we can find just a ounce of trust and build a alter to repent He can bring us through victorious.

  22. 8-11 So, go now and write all this down.
    Put it in a book
So that the record will be there
    to instruct the coming generations,
Because this is a rebel generation,
    a people who lie,
    A people unwilling to listen
    to anything God tells them.
    They tell their spiritual leaders,
    “Don’t bother us with irrelevancies.”
    They tell their preachers,
“Don’t waste our time on impracticalities.
Tell us what makes us feel better.
Don’t bore us with obsolete religion.
That stuff means nothing to us.
Quit hounding us with The Holy of Israel.”

Some times we only want to hear what we want to hear, so we block what people are trying to tell us.
This younger generation is counting on th older generation for them to be an example for them, help them be saved in Christ!
We need to really hear Pastor.Watts and not block him out! To think we know every thing that he will preach and fall into pride that leads to sin!

    You pile sin on sin,
one sin on top of another

We can not fall into sin! If we fall into pride we think we are better than everybody! It is just like sin after sin! But thanks be to God that he put Pastor and he put faithful people to save this generation!

  23. Trust in God. Put all your cares on him. Dont rely on idols, kings or money to fulfull your joy. All these will only lead you to astray from God. Kings only care about themselves, idols cant speak to you, money is the root of evil. So, Trust in the Lord!!!

  24. 1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

    What Did He Say?

Many times it is easy and encouraging for us to find someone to take our side, and encourage us to continue in doing wrong. Why would we, as the church, go anywhere but to God for our advise? Sin.

Sin will keep us from seeking God’s face. Sin, caused Adam and Eve to try tohide from God in thed Garden. Sin will cause us to loose our worship. Sin drives a wedge between us and God.

If we seek any councel other than what is scriptual and from the man of God in our life, we are rebellious, and operating in sin. We must stay submitted to stay covered by the only covering that counts, God’s covering.

We need not to turn to this world to have our ears tickeled, but rather we need to turn to prayer and the word, and see what His word has already established for us.

  25. 1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

Be careful who you take counsel from. Not everyone that try to help is actually helping. Sometimes we take counsel from the wrong people and end up deeper into our mess than we were before. God has called his children to be wiser than that. Don’t try to cover yourself with another spirit other than the spirit of the almighty God. Any spirit other than God’s spirit is an evil spirit and all it wants to do is harm you.

  26. Trusting God in our storms will get us through it strong! When I go through the valley I lean on God for guidance and understanding. Lord I want you to lead me through this valley! I AM STRONG!

  27. The end of verses 8-11 read:
“….Because this is a rebel generation,
    a people who lie,
    A people unwilling to listen
    to anything God tells them.
Quit hounding us with The Holy of Israel.””

Some try to hear only what they want to hear. Others go from place to place until they hear what they want to hear. I thank the Lord for the authority figures, leaders, teachers, parents, grandparents and Pastors that he has placed in my life. All of these people have at one time or another said something to me that I wasn’t to happy to hear; but, here I am…..thankful for their guidance and telling me what I needed to hear…TRUTH!

  28. 1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

Rebellion is a sign of witchcraft we have all heard that. Children are gonna try to spread their wings. As parents we have to teach our children right from wrong. Children make mistakes as well as adults. We as adults as well as children, teens have to be careful who we are taking counsel from. I am so thankful for Pastor and Sis Watts and for the leadership they have. If we (I) have a problem and need direction/counsel I can go to them and they will tell me the truth and not sugar coat it.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Our children have to build their own relationship with God, they can’t make it to heaven on our skirt tails. Your (my) children are watching us so what are we teaching our children? I want mine to see God thru me.

  29. Rahab the Do-Nothing

According to the Hebrew mythology God subdued Rahab, the female monster of chaos, when he moved across the waters to begin creation. Rahab is used here as a poetic synonym for Egypt, whose armies God destroyed when they pursued the Israelites across the Red Sea. During Isaiah’s time foreign armies threaten the Israelites, and they make a treaty with Egypt for protection- as if they could. This displeases God, who calls Egypt “utterly useless” and a “Do-Nothing” (vs7). Only God can truly protect his people and keep them secure.

Ps 20:7 “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”

  30. 2.For without consulting me, you have gone down to Egypt for help. You have put your trust in Pharaoh’s protection. You have tried to hide in his shade. 3.But by trusting Pharaoh, you will be humiliated, and by depending on him, you will be disgraced.
4.For though his power extends to Zoan and his officials have arrived in Hanes, 5.all who trust in him will be ashamed. He will not help you. Instead, he will disgrace you.”
6.This message came to me concerning the animals in the Negev: The caravan moves slowly across the terrible desert to Egypt— donkeys weighed down with riches and camels loaded with treasure— all to pay for Egypt’s protection. They travel through the wilderness, a place of lionesses and lions, a place where vipers and poisonous snakes live. All this, and Egypt will give you nothing in return.
    7. Egypt’s promises are worthless! Therefore, I call her Rahab— the Harmless Dragon. (NLT)

Usually when we feel like giving up we no longer want to do the will of God, but rather our own. So we look to the world to satisfy and tell us what we want to hear, and then we want to hide ourselves from the people who know what we are by dressing and talking and acting worldly. But when worldly people see us and they see that we no longer are in the will of God, they start to humiliate us by saying “Didn’t you want to be a music leader? Look at you! You’re not even Christian like you say you are, trying to fit in the world and be and do what we do! Ha! You’re pathetic, you used to say you were gonna go and do this and that for God, and now? You’re not even worthy anymore” so the world starts to reject you cause they see you failing at what you say you were going to be. So they’ll mock you. Yet we will spend things on worldly things to satisfy us, so that we can look and feel part of the world. Because we think it will make us “fit in”. But in the end you start to realize that you are doing all these things to make you look the part and you’re stressed and you’re mad and you’re angry at everyone. Because the world isn’t as wonderful and “free” as it sounds. You are stuck in bondage and chains. So instead of going through all that and trying to experience the world, just keep on serving God, and trusting that he is taking care and watching over you. Don’t try to be the world, make the world want to be you. By that I mean show the world who God is by your actions and your words and character. Be Jesus. 🙂

  31. Conformation

1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

The word for cover is synonymous with molten, mold, melt, set, set up.

    Romans 12:2
    King James Version (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Conform is a compound word meaning with, and fashion, way of life.

We are all going to allow ourselves to be molded to something. God created us to become whatever we are around. We literally are what we eat! The challenge is making sure we aren’t using our God given abilities to do the wrong things.

Our eyes are powerful. We can read, and study the word of God, and see our life in its pages. We can quote, and pray scripture, and see it manifest.

In prayer we draw closer to God, and walk away a bit more like Jesus.

It matters what we take in through our senses. Wisdom says if we don’t want to be like, look like, sound like, or act like something then we should abstain from it.

The four angels in Isaiah 6 cry holy, holy, holy. Then we see them in Ezekiel but they have taken on certain characteristics of God.

Ezekiel 10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

These same four angels are seen again in the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Rev 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

Each angel had spent so much time in the presence of God that they had become like him in some way!

Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah!
Jesus came humbly as a calf!
Jesus is God manifest in the flesh!
Jesus is an eagle that would bring Israel in under his wing!

    To be like Jesus?

    Read, Study, Pray, Reach, Serve!

  32. 10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

Thank God for Men of God that will preach to me without fear or favor.

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! -Romans 10:15

    Preach Preacher!!!!

  33. 9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:

10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.

Itching ears, the want for justification of our lifestyles and choices. We want to be told everything we are doing is ok and it doesn’t matter, it’s all going to work out just fine. Itching ears have driven people to pay someone to tell them what they want to hear. Entire careers have been made on this! But God says it does matter.

    Matthew 7:15-16
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

    2 Timothy 4:2-4
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Guard your heart and keep in the word of God so that you are not deceived by seducing words that are a set snare for your soul.

  34. Where are you at Adam?

1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

This has been the fight since Adam…We dont know how far into sin we are until we are being deceived by it. We have a continual choice to make as to whether something is good or bad. Are we so deceived by Egypt that we dont see how she is sneaking in at every chance.

Oh nothing is wrong with watching that movie…It is funny… There are only a couple of bad parts…

    What are we doing????????

    2 Chronicles 1:17
When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness ? or the things that I purpose , do I purpose according to the flesh , that with me there should be yea yea , and nay nay ?
    James 5:12
But above all things , my brethren , swear not , neither by heaven , neither by the earth , neither by any other oath : but let your yea be yea ; and [your] nay , nay ; lest ye fall into condemnation .

These little things slowly take us out of our covering and sooner than later we are stuck in the desert with no water.

We have to take shelter in obedience and holiness. These things are what keep us out of harms way. Let us keep our eyes, ears, mouths, hands and feet covered.

And the LORD God called unto Adam , and said unto him, Where [art] thou ?And he said , I heard thy voice in the garden 1, and I was afraid , because I [was] naked ; and I hid myself .And he said , Who told thee that thou [wast] naked ? Hast thou eaten of the tree , whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat ?

God knew where Adam was the whole time. The question was, did Adam know where Adam was?

When you are walking through the shadow , like Pastor explained you are fallowing darkness and you have your back to the light. When your back is to the light, your backside is revealed.

Walk toward the light and keep yourself covered.

    Where are you really?

  35. 21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

When the Lord only wants good for us why is it then that ppl still not want listen as if His ways are gonna harm? I believe it’s a matter of selfishness and pride, and not submiting that says I want it my way at my time. God never said he is not gonna provide or give. In Matthew 7 it says ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened.
In psalms 37:4 delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

The question is will we be willing to accept and trust His timing and His ways.

We want to walk in a path of blessings… Proverbs 3:5-6 trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

So do we think that he is gonna lead us to harm? To a curse?

We that have the gift of the Holy Ghost have that intimate relationship with Him our Lord. He is constantly speaking to us. Are we listening? Is He asking for some time alone with us? Is He excitedly wanting to show you/us great wonders that no one has seen? Does he want to lead us into a deeper relationship that we may be used greatly of Him and be blessed?

    John 16:13
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

  36. Can You Here Me Now?

30 And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

Someone recently asked me how do I make God feel. I told them God was happy all the time. Then I corre Ted myself and said that God is sometimes angry too. You shall have no other gods before me is a commandment. That can be rather hard for some because of the god of money, advancement, work, stuff AND SELF. We hear early in the chapter that people thAt go to the world, “Egypt” don’t make God happy. They have a lack of trust. We must trust in God alone for him to get very happy anymore.

  37. God Cares

    1 Peter 5:6-7
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. (1 Peter 5:6, 7 AMP)

We see a contrast: seeking an answer for cares from the world and seeking an answer from God. Pride is an easy culprit to identify, but it comes often hidden beneath a mask of pain and the damaging belief that God does not care. The Word is purposeful, not accidental. We see in 1 Peter 5:7 an easily overlooked bit of insight: we would not have to be informed that God cares for us if it wasn’t in us to doubt that.

From Sunday school songs like “Jesus loves me this I know…” to religious billboards to Christian radio, God’s love for us is widely broadcast. It seems to be perhaps the one message that transcends the boundaries of denominations and doctrinal disputes, the popular anthem behind John 3:16, and the crowning difference of personality highlighted by comparing Jesus with idols and other false gods. Yet, God knew we needed to be reminded of this. So there He wrote it plainly, buried within the epistles to His people, written for believing hearts, born-again souls, those that lived the fulfillment of John 3:16.

This context opens the door to 1 Peter 5:7 coming as a warning to any believer: do not allow yourself to doubt that God loves you and cares for you. No matter how much you know it, don’t lose faith in it.

    Proverbs 3:3-6
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

It is sneaky but there is a pride, usually following pain, that says “I will trust my perception more than truth; I don’t believe God cares for me.” The response of the flesh to pain is to harden against it. This is why we cannot walk in the flesh or normal pains of life will cause us to get bound up and blinded by pride that sneaks in with fear under the guise of protecting ourselves from more pain.

When that pride gets a foothold, we see our trust in God evaporating and we stop casting our care on Him. We may have head-knowledge that says “God loves us, we can trust Him!” but our actions display the corrupted faith called fear that acts out an inner pride that is convinced otherwise. Because of what we know, we can convince ourselves we don’t have this pride, since after all we *know* Jesus loves us and can take care of us and can give us a miracle…

But do we really *believe* it? Do our actions testify to it? Is the fruit of our life in agreement to that truth? Do we bear witness of it?

    Jeremiah 17:5-10
5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

We must do more than know it, we must believe it and live it that God cares for us.

  38. Seek God

And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]! O people who dwell in Zion at Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. (Isaiah 30:18, 19 AMP)

Seek God….. The Lord desires to have a relationship with His children. In today’s society the view of a “father” is minimized. Fathers no longer are respected perhaps because so many are absent. I’m thankful that my Father is not a deadbeat Dad. He loves me and has compassion for me.  He desires to bless me. He desires to speak to me daily. In my weakness He is strong. I seek Him and His victory, favor, love, peace, joy & His companionship. I ❤ My Daddy!!

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! (Psalms 139:17, 18 NLT)

    I Will Search
    By Israel & New Breed

    How precious how lovely
Are your thoughts oh Lord toward me
    How truly amazing
Is the grace that You have shown
Oh Majesty I live to see Your face

    I will search for You
    And I will find You
I will find You with all my heart
I will lift my hands to You in worship
And I will worship with all my heart

    How gracious relentless
Is the Father’s love toward us
    Breathtaking the beauty
    And the radiance of You
Oh Majesty I live to see Your face
    And be transformed
    Into your image

  39. Vs 9-13 when we will not listen to sound doctrine and turn from our sin, that sin will be upon our heads and we will be judged without the benefit of the blood of JEsus covering it.
