Isaiah 59

1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.

Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.

11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;

13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.

21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

  1. My way

Anytime we go and do things our way and chase after the things we desire we end up in a mess. We are like blind people aimlessly walking around. Psalms says delight yourself in The Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. We must take our delight in God and seek him. Then everything will be added to us. We need to chase after God and let him be the center. Seek peace.

This passage makes me think of America. lord help us. We as a nation are so far from it.

  2. Our sins keep a wall between us and God. We must repent if God is to hear our prayers; as individually and also as a nation,
2Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

  3. 1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

God has not changed; we are the ones who have moved ourselves away from Him.

The Message Version explains it like this:
“There’s nothing wrong with God; the wrong is in you. Your wrongheaded lives caused the split between you and God.”

Lord, I don’t want to have a split between us, so help me get my head right so that I can draw closer to You!

  4. 11.We roar all bear, and mourn sore like doves: we look for jugement, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

  5. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

  6. And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him

  7. So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him

  8. 17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

  9. HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH !!!
19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
    Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
    Psalm 34:7-9 KJV
7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

GOD IS FAITHFUL AND JUST!!! THERE IS NO GOD LIKE MY GOD!!! HE IS GREAT AND MIGHTY!!! I AM BLESSED!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  10. 20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.

The Redeemer is here. This is the greatest prophecy that was ever told. It was this that shows us about Jesus’ coming. Glory be God, that He keeps his promises.

  11. THE DISCONTENT OF DECEPTION

1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Over the past 25 years I have witnessed the process way too many times. An individual will begin the downward spiral of backsliding:

    It begins with words like:

I don’t feel the LORD like I used to.
    The church is changing.
The people here don’t treat me like they used to.
The services are not as powerful as they used to be.

All of these are lies of DECEPTION, they attempt to cover up the fact that we the people have allowed sin into our lives. Sin is separation from GOD, (see verse 2) and sin is manifest in our lives by “omission” or not doing what we know to do.

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

The fact is that GOD does not change and the church rarely changes in the ways that are described above. It is me LORD standing in the need of Prayer.

    The ANSWER:

    REPENT
    FORGIVE
    REPEAT

    iRepent
    iForgive
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  12. I’m sick and tired of letting things come between me and my walk with God. It’s time to stand strong and hold my head up high, take my sword and shield and fight for what is right! Praise God! It makes my morning when I feel His presence so early!

  13. 1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

God can not dwell where sin is. If we have the Holy Ghost and we’re continually sinning then it’s like we’re pushing him out of his dwelling place. How many people do you know will keep doing something for you if you kick them out every single day. When we have the Holy Ghost we know what’s wrong and what’s right and when we choose to do what’s wrong not considering or careing for the consequences. Is only right that he would turn his face from us. He is righteous and we must strive to be like him, we must repent, die daily, and do our best to walk in his spirit every day. If we’re in sin it’s no wonder our prayers don’t get answered.

  14. 1-8 Look! Listen!
God’s arm is not amputated—he can still save.
God’s ears are not stopped up—he can still hear.
There’s nothing wrong with God; the wrong is in you.
Your wrongheaded lives caused the split between you and God.
Your sins got between you so that he doesn’t hear.
Your hands are drenched in blood,
    your fingers dripping with guilt,
    Your lips smeared with lies,
your tongue swollen from muttering obscenities.
No one speaks up for the right,
    no one deals fairly.
They trust in illusion, they tell lies,
they get pregnant with mischief and have sin-babies.
They hatch snake eggs and weave spider webs.
Eat an egg and die; break an egg and get a snake!
The spider webs are no good for shirts or shawls.
No one can wear these weavings!
    They weave wickedness,
    they hatch violence.
They compete in the race to do evil
and run to be the first to murder.
They plan and plot evil, think and breathe evil,
and leave a trail of wrecked lives behind them.
    They know nothing about peace
and less than nothing about justice.
    They make tortuously twisted roads.
No peace for the wretch who walks down those roads!

Why do as people have so much more drama in the church with each other than the world does? Why do people get jealous if someone gets a blessing and it didn’t happen to them? Some things to think about. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24
God and sin does not live in the same temple. Who are you serving today which master or you serving? I don’t want anything standing me and my Jesus, its time we put our hands to plow and don’t look back look forward and never look back.

  15. Listen! The Lord ’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. (Isaiah 59:1, 2 NLT)

Plain and simple…. There isn’t a blame game here. It’s our own sin that separates us from God.

Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. (Micah 3:4 KJV)

  16. “Will the Real Intercessor Please Rise”

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

The word “wondered” in this verse is שׁמם in the Hebrew and is a primitive root meaning, “to stun.” Have you ever stunned God, have you ever amazed or made him marvel? There are many scriptures that indicate Jesus was stunned. Mark 6:6 “And he marvelled because of their unbelief.” Can you imagine the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords being “shocked” at unbelief?

God is looking for intercessors to stand up and pray for those who need him. When Jesus walks into our prayer rooms does he “wonder” where all the intercessors are? Who are we crying out for? Who are we pleading the blood over, who are we warring in the Spirit for?

Thank-You Dr. Hughes for the message last night, NOW God can finally use us to make intercession for those who have hurt us the most.

  17. No matter how He comes, when He comes, He has ALL VICTORY.

19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

The majority of you know that I have been interpreting and translating from different languages to English for about 10 yrs now. When I do written translations you don’t translate word per word, adjective go from being first to being second on a sentence, and sometimes punctuation need to move to make sense of the words. When I first read this verse many years ago I noticed how a simple move of that coma changes the meaning of the sentence. What I never noticed until today that although it changes the meaning of the sentence the results are still the same, HE WINS, HE HAS ALL VICTORY.

Read the sentence and you will see what I mean.

    1. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

    2. When the enemy shall come in, like a flood the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

So it is not if the enemy comes in like a flood, then the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him or if the enemy comes in, like a flood the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him, the clue here is that no matter who or what comes in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will ALWAYS STAND AGAINST him, THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE VICTORY. THE RESULTS DON’T CHANGE. So don’t look of how the circumstances might be that don’t changes the result of it. AMEN HE HAS ALL VICTORY and He gave that VICTORY TO YOU AND ME. Thank you Jesus.

  18. Isaiah 59:16-17
He couldn’t believe what he saw:
not a soul around to correct this awful situation.
So he did it himself, took on the work of Salvation,
    fueled by his own Righteousness.
He dressed in Righteousness, put it on like a suit of armor,
with Salvation on his head like a helmet,
Put on Judgment like an overcoat,
and threw a cloak of Passion across his shoulders.

He saw what we deserved and said he would repay. He will judge for the horrible things humanity has done. He will judge every sin, lie, and unforgiveness.

    But first…

First he brought salvation. First he made a way out. First he chose to forgive if we would repent. He endured the shame of the cross knowing how we were and what we would do.

Like Dr. Hughes said we must be like Jesus. First we should offer mercy. First we should forgive. First we should smile before we every throw a stone.

  19. 1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

Many times I have prayed knowing that God’s arm is not too short, nor His hand weak, that He could not do just as I was asking, to question why it did not happen. SIN. Sin is why. If we have sin in the camp, we become the enemy of God.

Last night I had to do a lot of searching in my own heart, about the way I felt about some of the various people in my life. Was I holding unforgivrness against them? Was I secretly hoping for God to revenge me? After I released them, and forgave them again (because I had signs that I hadn’t really forgiven them from before), I prayed that God would bless them.

Unforgiveness is a sin. It works as so many others to separate us from God. David wrote that even if he made his bed in the pits of Hell, that God would still be there with him. Paul put it that nothing can separate us, not famine or persicution, or nakedness, or perrill, or sword, not from His love. SIN can and DOES separate us from God. We have to not only forgive others, but also we have to forgive ourselves, and that is the one that I have had the hardest time forgiving.

We all when we are truly honest find that we make stupid, costly mistakes. Its these mistakes that are so hard for me to let go of, but I did. I know that the word tells us that if we don’t forgive then He will not forgive us.That includes ourselves. Although we can and should be tough on ourselves, we must forgive ourselves too…

  20. sins are they really worth it??

    Psalms 34:15

The ways of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

God will hear our prayers everyday and hears our cries unto Him. He loves to talk to us and purges us with His Spirit everyday. Sometimes staying up all night praying unto God of the universe(jesus) is well worth it. He knows our bodies time clock when we go to bed and when we wake up. Those are the most important time of the day when we can come to God and repent or just have time in His throne room.
In this chapter it talks about sinning against Him and that he is always listing to us so we can repent and get our life back in line with His will for us.

    Isaiah 59:1-2
    !/
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his
ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
    2/
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

I don’t want to sin against God but I know sometimes I do. If it seperates me from God why do the sins? I need Him not for me to push Him away…when especially He is beautiful and magnificent!!
Well, this chapter has me thinking is it worth it- No it”s not, Jesus.

I love you Jesus my savior and its amazing of your friendship we have I don’t want us apart.

  21. 16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

    Be available…
THis scripture tells me that God is always looking for a man or a woman to stand in the gap for his people, he is looking for someone who will take the challange and be used by him. I am determinded I we will be available to God whenever he wants to use us I will stand in the gap for Gods people.

  22. This chapter illustrates redemption. Without God (Jesus), all was/is doomed. One needs the redeemer (Jesus); “For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  23. NLT 12 For our sins are piled up before God and testify against us. Yes, we know what sinners we are.

Who is to blame for committing these sins? Me, myself & I thats whom we should blame. Like Dr Hughes, said, “dont blame others”. Look in the mirror and blame yourself for the direction of your life.

  24. 17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.

  25. 17. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak

  26. 16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

  27. 19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

  28. 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Sin will put a division between you and God. This is what the enemy loves to see, something separating you from God. Now is the time to draw closer to God then we have before. We can’t make it to heaven on our own, we need God involved. Don’t forsake your relationship with God for a worldly desire. Always put God first.

  29. 21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

What a promise the Lord has made unto us! Heaven & earth will pass away but his word shall remain.

  30. 1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Wow. God is always able to save us and hear us. All we have to do is stretch out our withered hand or call out in a loud. Voice

  31. Verses 1-2 AMP “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened at all, that it cannot save, nor His ear dull with deafness, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” We must strive to not let anything or anyone ever separate us from Him.

  32. 21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

Promises that will last through generations. We are building a legacy with the life we live. How we act/respond/grow/treat others, it is all part of the law of reaping and sowing. We see the parallel in this chapter of those whose sin separates them from God, and those who live according to the plan of God. One way there is no peace, and the other way the promise of peace. The choices in life are ours. We must take responsibility of our actions and responses and make Godly choices so the promise ending this chapter can come to pass in my children’s, children’s children, should the Lord tarry.

  33. How awesome is our God. He gives us gifts spite of our behavior. He loves us unconditionally. He gave his life so that we may live.

Thank you Lord for your gift of the Holy Spirit. I honor your sweet name.

  34. Forgiveness

14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

If we want righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost, we must be willing to forgive. We must look to the justice of the blood; Jesus paid the price for every sin, which means His blood can wash away every sin in justice. There came divine judgment on sin, and justice, at Calvary. Want to open the door for equity, or righteousness? Forgive! Jesus forgave, even while on the cross.

    Luke 23:34-35
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. 35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

  35. 20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.

    Jesus saves…

Seems like the formula for salvation is summarized here in this chapter. We are show how it us sin that separates us from God, verse 2…and how the Lord Jesus, is our greatest imtercessor, the one who comes to redeem and take our place, fight for us. All one has to do is turn away from transgression, repent from sin. And we shall obtain the promise from the Lord and all we have to do is share pass it down to the future generations

Acts 2:39 This promise is to you, and to your children, and even to the Gentiles—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

  36. No Intervention

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

When the people and leaders don’t stand up against injustice, and appaled God intervenes. The injustices of the people include violence, lying, hostility, rebellion, treachery, oppressing the weak and ignoring God (vs 3-9). These sins place a barrier between God and the people (vs 1-2), so in a sense they can no longer dispense true and holy justice. Only the Lord himself is able to do so. And he doesn’t hesitate to step in a where his people fail to offer salvation, restoration and justice. Jesus became our intercessor, He stepped into the balance and shed his blood, and rent the veil between us and Him. His Spirit is now dwelling within us, He now interceeds for us, through us.

1 Cor 14: 2For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 3But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
