Jeremiah Chapter 17

family devotional           week one: looking back in gratitude

Day Five

Gratitude as a Form of Worship

First Chronicles 29:10-20 is one of the greatest expressions of worship found in God’s Word.  Read this prayer in its entirety and reflect on the essence of true stewardship: the realization that God owns everything.

Jeremiah 17

1 The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.

O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.

And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.

Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.

For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.

13 O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.

14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it come now.

16 As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.

17 Be not a terror unto me: thou art my hope in the day of evil.

18 Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

19 Thus said the Lord unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;

20 And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the Lord, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:

21 Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.

23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.

24 And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the Lord, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;

25 Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.

26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the Lord.

27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

  1. “But blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers— Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, Serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season. (Jeremiah 17:7, 8 MSG)

  2. 7. BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT TRUSTETH IN THE LORD, AND WHOSE HOPE THE LORDS IS .
CHAPTER 8. IS A DREAM THAT I HAD MANY YEARS BACK ABOUT. A TREE PLANTED BE SIDE THE WATER .

  3. 14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

He is Jehovah Rapha and Jehovah Mekoddishkem; He is the only one worthy of our praise, He is our praise.

He is the fountain of living waters that I want my roots to spread out by so that I won’t be destroyed by the heat and drought.

  4. 21 Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

    TAKE HEED TO YOURSELVES

I know this scripture talks about bearing no burden on the sabbath day which the children of Israeli was not suppose to do.

You, yourself are the greatest enemy or friend we can have. We control the way we think or look and many other aspects of our lives. This is why we must take heed to ourselves!! We need to take a closer look in the mirror at what we see, not the wrinkles, the gray hair or the bald head, even the big nose. We need to look a little deeper and see the inner man. What are we thinking? What is going on in our minds? Is our mind filled with clutter, things we have no business letting stay in our mind! We need to look and see if bitterness is setting in, because we hold a grudge against someone and we can not forgive them of past offenses.

You control your life, life will deal you some terrible blows. How you respond to these offenses tells the story about you. Pray that you will always take these and understand the Lord is making a better saint out of you.

I can write all day of these things, just remember.
    TAKE HEED TO YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Fruit
(Jeremiah 17:7, 8 KJV)
Those that hope in The Lord are like a fruitful tree. Yesterday the people were told not to mingle. I said it was because they would have tainted fruit. Today it is talking about how to have pure fruit that never ends, even through the drought.
Hallelujah, let me be a fruitful tree that never stops producing fruit. Through the droughts of work and life let me still have the fruit of The Lord that never ends. Let me always produce holy fruit!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22, 23 KJV)

  6. HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

SANTO!!! FOR MY TRUST IS IN JESUS!!! ONLY HE IS GOOD!!! JESUS YOU HAVE BEEN MORE THAN GOOD TO ME!!! FOREVER WILL I PRAISE YOU JESUS!!!

OOOO JESUS IF MY TREE IS NOT YIELDING FRUIT THAT PLEASES YOU, I ASK THAT YOU PLEASE SHOW ME, TEACH ME AND REVEAL TO ME HOW TO SERVE YOU IN A MORE PLEASING WAY……IN JESUS NAME!!! OOOO JESUS THAT MY LIFE WOULD BE A SWEET SWEET SOUND IN YOUR EAR, THAT THE FRUIT OF MY TREE WILL GIVE OFF GREAT FRUIT PLEASING AND GLORIFYING YOU ALWAY AND ALWAYS IN JESUS NAME!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!! JESUS!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH !!! HALELUJAH !!! =D

  7. 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

What is in our heart will in time come out in our actions and our speech.
Lord help me to watch the things that I let creep into my heart!
Help me to have a love for your word and your work. Help me to have a heart of compassion and love.
Thank you Lord for being in my heart!!

  8. This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land. “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. (Jeremiah 17:5-8 NLT)

Blessed is a state of utmost bliss. It’s a blessing to trust in the Lord. He is my source of everything- life, strength, hope & salvation… The list is never ending. Thank you Jesus!!

Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. (Psalms 1:1-4 NLT)

  9. Like a cowbird that cheats by laying its eggs in another bird’s nest Is the person who gets rich by cheating. When the eggs hatch, the deceit is exposed. What a fool he’ll look like then! (Jeremiah 17:11 MSG)

When we are dishonest with others it will show through. No matter how hard we try to hide it or cover it up. The true fruit will show and Time Will Tell.

  10. 4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.

  11. 5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.

6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

Amen.. We can’t allow other people to get to the point that we trust them with everything and rely and depend on them. We have to put our trust in God he is the only one that won’t fail us

  12. I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:10 KJV)

    STRONGS
    Search-
A primitive root; properly to penetrate; hence to examine intimately:–find out, (make) search (out), seek (out), sound, try.

    Try-
A primitive root; to test (especially metals); generally and figuratively to investigate:–examine, prove, tempt, try (trial).

    Reins-
Feminine of 3627 (only in the plural); a kidney (as an essential organ); figuratively the mind (as the interior self):–kidneys, reins.

The Lord is going to examine intimately our hearts and investigate or test our minds according to our ways and the fruit of our doings.
If my mind spiritually functions as my kidneys Lord I pray that you be my triple filter to shield and protect my mind from things that don’t please you or bring you glory.

  13. 21.- thus saith The Lord ; take heed to yourselves and bear no burden on the sabbath say nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem .
    —–
My prayer is that I seek The Lord as much possible, that The Lord give me understanding in the day of trouble, understanding of HIs word daily, and that I may be alert of his presence in prayer and also that my mind gets renew, refresh daily, so that whe Sunday comes It will only be used for his glory, that my my mind mind and heart be in one accord to give him praise, to exalt his name, to declare his wonders, goodness, just to love him, to express my love to him with humbleness in my own little way, without trying to impress or making the mistake of comparing myself with others, spiritual growth and ways.
    In jusus name , AMEN!!!!!!!!

  14. Get rid of all your luggage before you enter His House!!!!!

    21 Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

By His word we are not even to go by the gates with our luggage, we should leave that somewhere else. All burdens, all worries, all problems, JUST ALL OF IT, dispose of it but don’t bring it close to the House of worship. Once you do that it will be easy to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with Praise. You will feel a little lighter, you will be happier, and you will be free to Praise. Do not make your neck stiff, that happens when you get proud, self reliance, and thinking you can do it all.

I think God is telling us how dumb we can be by trusting in ourselves, or men. Don’t we realize that our resources are limited? That they will dry up and we will be left out in the heat with nothing but our thirst. Mean while, if we trust in the Lord, His resources are unlimited, they have no end, never run out, it just keep flowing, it helps us grow strong, and we will never stop giving fruit. Can you see it? Can you imagine creatively?
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

  15. Vs.5, “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”
Vs.6, “For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.”
Vs.7, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.”
Vs.8, “For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the rivers, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”

These verses made me think of Psalms chapter 1.
Vs.1, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
Vs.2, “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Vs.3, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Vs.4, “The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.”
Vs.5, “Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.”
Vs.6, “For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”

If we trust in God (the fountain of living water) and delight in His Word, we shall be fruitful and prosper.

  16. iLove to eat the Word

3 O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders.

Faith the the substance of things hoped for

Disobedience robs us of our faith because faith is the substance of things hoped for.

  17. BLESSED, BLESSED, BLESSED

9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

TRUST is the KEY to BLESSING. An individual is blind to HOPE if he has no TRUST. TRUST in the LORD.

TRUST – belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest, effective.

    Is GOD good? YES
    Is GOD reliable? YES
    Is GOD honest? YES
    Is GOD effective? YES

    PROOF
Psalms 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Psalms 40:4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

    iTrust
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  18. 9 & 10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (KJV)

9 &10 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.” (NLT)

9 &10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it [perceive, understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind]? I the Lord search the mind, I try the heart, even to give to every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. (AMP)

*We are ultimately responsible for what we allow in our hearts; we chose what to keep and hide from others (except God) within our hearts. God knows all, so don’t ever think you are or can hide even your deepest of secrets from Him, you are only deceiving yourself if you do. God tries the reins of our hearts, He desires purity of our hearts, but He also gave us the ability of decision, to chose between our will our His. Then He warns us, if we chose our own will that we will reap what we sow.

Although He already knows what is hidden in your heart, openly allow God and welcome Him to come in and search your heart. Surrender your will to His, surrender your desires to Him; God has so much greater in store and only seeks to hold the reins of your heart, allow Him and see the great fruit that you will reap.

  19. 5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.

6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

  20. God is never failing and will never let us down! I will put my trust and faith in Him because He sticketh closer than a brother! Thank you Jesus for being there for me when I needed and when I thought I didn’t!

  21. Keep that heart in check, because you can’t even trust it as well. He will give to every man according to his ways. Be sure your sowing the right seeds and don’t be decieved by your own heart.

9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

We all need to be healed & saved……………

14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

  22. Let God be God

5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.

    Psalms 20:7
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

We as men think that we are going to roll up our sleeves and fix everything. Although hard work and dedication is great there is a place that faith superceeds all we can do. Sometimes when we get in a bind it is just God letting us know that we really do need him.

    Worth the Waist

Thanks Pastor! That opened my eyes to a different way of thinking.

If it wouldnt have been for the hard times in my life, i wouldnt know how good God has been to me. He has raised me up out of the miry clay and set me on solid ground. Now when i get into a bind it doesnt seem so bad because Jesus has stepped in before and done miraculous things, so i expect him to do it again.

Nothing can replace hard work and dedication, in fact Jesus expects that.

    James 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

But hard work without faith is also just as dead

I used to say “Work hard and Play hard”

but now the truth is to

    “Work hard and Pray hard”

  23. This chapter illustrates order. They trusted in self and did as self-wanted. One that is disciplined, places God (Jesus) first, and trusts God is wise; “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  24. Verses 7-8 MSG:
“But blessed is the man who trusts me, God,
the woman who sticks with God.
They’re like trees replanted in Eden,
putting down roots near the rivers—
Never a worry through the hottest of summers,
    never dropping a leaf,
    Serene and calm through droughts,
    bearing fresh fruit every season.”

Lord help me to always be planted and rooted in You and your Word. Always bearing fresh fruit in every season of my life. I will put my trust in you Lord.

Acts 20:24 MSG “But there is another urgency before me now. I feel compelled to go to Jerusalem. I’m completely in the dark about what will happen when I get there. I do know that it won’t be any picnic, for the Holy Spirit has let me know repeatedly and clearly that there are hard times and imprisonment ahead. But that matters little. What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God.

  25. 27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

Church zack , church zack, church ,church ,church!!!

Bro.Gidrose preached this message to our church a while ago. It is a great reminder that we serve a jealous God. One who wants our undivided attention. To take a day out if the week and commune with Him.

  26. “Meet Me”

There is one person we are more familiar with than any other. We have spent our entire lives with them, and continue to every day. In fact this person cannot be escaped, and can be seen visually by looking into a mirror. This person is known as self.

Many times it isn’t a politician, celebrity, or role model that becomes our first response team. Though we may honor people, and look toward their advice and guidance our number one counselor is usually between our ears.

Jesus is telling them not to trust in the arm of the flesh. The authority dominion and might of our flesh can seem pretty convincing but pales in comparison to the awesomeness of the one true living God.

Proverbs says trust in The Lord, and lean not to our own understanding. We can’t rely on ourselves. We must completely trust in God.

Dying to self is more than just living a life of sacrificial obedience, but deliberate murder of our own will, advice, and opinion.

  27. 10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Be not deceived God is not mocked whatsoever a man Soweth that shall he also Reap.

The Lords knows our hearts. He know the plans we make Live according to his word and see the blessings of God settle upon you.

  28. My blessing is on those people who trust in me, who put their confidence in me. They will be like a tree planted near a stream whose roots spread out toward the water. It has nothing to fear when the heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It has no need to be concerned in a year of drought. It does not stop bearing fruit.

Trusting God is the best thing we can do. He knows best and when we fully submit to his provision we will truly be blessed. Submitting to God is the ultimate trust we can give him bc we make him the God of our lives. Generally we want to fix it ourselves and be our own gods. But we can put that aside in humility and allow the will of man to align with the will of God and walk in perfect trust in The Lord. Trust is proven by giving him complete dominion in our thoughts, words, and actions. Trust God and be blessed.

  29. 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

    Input output…
What comes in must come out. In here we see an example of the kind of fruit that a man can bear. It describes the heart as being wicked, and throughout previous chapters we see how the people went after the wicked imaginations of theirn on heart. However the heart is also described as a grounds in which we recieve the Word of God. And the word says out of the abundance of the heart speaks the mouth which is a type of fruit given out. It seems as though the heart has a wicked nature, and the Word transforms the heart. The fruit that we bear it is just the output of what we put in what we feed our hearts with. The seeds of the world will produce bad fruit, but the fruit if the spirit blesses our life immensely. If I want to bear good fruit I need to guard my heart and allow the Word to change my heart. My prayer is this as the psalmist said:
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

  30. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can

    9

    know it?

I the Lord search the heart, I try according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings
the Lord knows the thoughts and intentions of the heart. that’s why it behooves us to live righteously soberly and godly because God is trying our heart everyday and watches the content of our hearts.

  31. The River

13 O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.

The Lord gives us life, and that life flows like a river through us. Stopping the flow means becoming stagnant and losing ahold of that life.

    Ezekiel 47:9,11
9 And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh. … 11 But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt.

We must not try to just get a taste of God and run with it, we need to have a continuous flow of Him in our lives. He is more than enough for us and it is worth any sacrifice to abide in His life-giving flow.

    Philippians 3:7-8
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ

  32. 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

We must not be led by our feelings because we see here feelings can deceive us. We must be led by the spirit, the word of God & our Pastor. We must also realize that not every trial is from the adversary, but is allowed by God to try our reins-to see just how we will behave when given the chance. Be pleasing to God in the hard times as well as the good times.

  33. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

I want to be on your side My Lord.

  34. Vs 7 We should trust in the Lord for he is the only true hope that we have and we will be blessed. If we put our trust in man we will always be disappointed and God will not look favorably upon us.

  35. 10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

We must allow God to search our heart. Things that build up in our heart can weigh down on us. God will clean us up and set us on the right path.

  36. 14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

It’s all up to us to have faith and let the Lord take over situations and give God the glory for it.

  37. Heart Checkup

Jeremiah reminds the people that the Almighty looks past the outward appearances and performance to test hearts and minds ” to reward a man according to his conduct” (vs10). The prophet also warns that those who gain wealth through deceitful practices eventually end up poor fools and those who do good deeds to cover up a sin-filled heart will be judged. Judah fails God’s heart exam because deceit clogs the arteries of their relationship with God. The lesson for all of us is that sin blocks the lifeline to God -no matter how good our deeds- and keeps us from spiritual health.
