Jeremiah 48

1 Against Moab thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.

There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.

A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.

Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.

For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.

Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.

For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the Lord hath spoken.

Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.

10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.

12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.

13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.

14 How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?

15 Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts.

16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.

17 All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!

18 Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.

19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?

20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,

21 And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,

22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Bethdiblathaim,

23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmeon,

24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.

25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the Lord.

26 Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the Lord: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.

27 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.

28 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth.

29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.

30 I know his wrath, saith the Lord; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.

31 Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.

32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.

33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.

34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.

35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the Lord, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.

36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.

37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.

38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith theLord.

39 They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.

40 For thus saith the Lord; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.

41 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men’s hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the Lord.

43 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the Lord.

44 He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the Lord.

45 They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.

46 Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.

47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the Lord. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.

  1. 11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
    The danger of spiritual laziness…
Moab one version says: “Had been lazy from his youth and never worked a day in his life” as a result he was useless to God and the kingdom of God. Working, sacrificing and giving of ourselves to God is the first thing we must commit to in order to be used mightly of God. We have to be willing to get behind the plow and push and work for the harvest because “The harvest is plenty but the laborors are few”

  2. 11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.

-theres no time to sit around and wait for a miracle to happen the lord said”ask and ye shall receive”if we could sit infront of a t.v and watch a football game and scream to the top of our lung we should be able to do the same in the presence of the lord for hes worthy of our praise and worship he deserves our all we gotta FIGHT for our VICTORY and show the lord we mean what we say…we caint stay quiet not now weve come to far to give up now..fast pray read and study to become stronger in the lord for hes worthy of our all
the road will get bumpy but we gotta STOMP STOMP STOMP on the DEVIL cause hes under our FEET he caint touch us cause the lord gave us POWER over the DEVIL which makes him smaller then the lord .
    WE GOT THE VICTORY!!!!
SHOUT WITH THE VOICE OF TRIUMPH,SHOUT WITH THE VOICE OF PRAISE,SHOUT UNTO GOD FOR THE VICTORY,GIVE THE LORD A SHOUT AND PRAISE:)

  3. 33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.

Without a harvest, there’s not much left to shout about.

  4. 42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the Lord.

    NOT A PEOPLE

Moab was moved from being a people because they magnified themselves against the Lord. Not a good place to put yourself (against God). Why would anyone want to magnify themselves against the Lord, especially Moab. They had saw the mighty works of God, but refused to bow down to him and allow him to rule in their lives. I am reminded of the scripture that says If God be for you who can be against you. This works also in reverse If God be against you who can be for you?
There is not a more complex place to be than to know the LORD is against you. This time has came to Moab, look at all the things that is happening to them simple because they would not allow God to be the King of their life. Even called NOT A PEOPLE. God does not recognize them. Believe me when God does not recognize you , you are not a people.

  5. No longer a washpot

    Jeremiah 48:42
And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people,
because he hath magnified himself against the Lord.

    Psalms 60:8
    Moab is my washpot;
over Edom will I cast out my shoe:
Philistia, triumph thou because of me.

In the house of The Lord are vessels of honor, and dishonor. Moab has been God’s wash pot. This is where he refines things, and removed impurities. Yet Moab will soon lose it’s position.

Why? Why the destruction, chaos, and calamity? Why the suffering, and captivity, and fire? Why is the washpot being thrown away? Only one reason: because he magnified himself against The Lord.

A position in the body should be highly revered, and respected. Though not every one glorious like changing diapers, or taking out the trash, each position is significantly important in the kingdom.

No matter the position there is glory in having a part in the Kingdom of God.

Sadly this is many times taken for granted and not realized until we have vacated our position. David had the right attitude about involvement in the kingdom.

    Psalms 84:10
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.
I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Why? David answers his own question.

    Psalms 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and shield:
the Lord will give grace and glory:
no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

You can make it! You can do it! Stay in the boat and the flood can’t get you. Stay in the church and the fire won’t catch you.

Remember in the end we all go up together! The purposeful conquest of unity, and submission to authority brings life, longevity, and overall victory!

  6. Verse 7 MSG “You trusted in thick walls and big money, yes? But it won’t help you now. Your big god Chemosh will be hauled off, his priests and managers with him.” Proverbs 21:7 MSG says “The wicked get buried alive by their loot because they refuse to use it to help others.” Same verse in the NLT says “Because you have trusted in your wealth and skill, you will be taken captive. Your god Chemosh, with his priests and officials, will be hauled off to distant lands!” We can not afford to put our trust in the things of this world or man.

Proverbs 3:5-9 AMP “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones. Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income;…..”

  7. No where to hide!

In these last days there is a great fight for our souls. There was once a place that you could stand stagnant in the spirit and somewhat hide from God, but these days are at hand that he is seeking all. It is the most exiting time to live in because we that know The Lord know his promises. But woe unto those in these time that do not know The Lord. We are responsible in these last days to gather and lead as many as we can to the house of God Lear they perish. The word has been spoken that the light has been turned on. Jesus is here among us. He will reveal the true worshipers and the posers. We have a lot if work to do especially since
We understand the time we are living in. We have to go win souls today! We have to check ourselves today! Before every battle the warrior checks his armor. Will it last through the battle? If not you have to repair it and build it up before you fight. Put on the armor of God today and go fight for the lost.

  8. I know God can set the captives free!!!!!!!!set me free Jesus in Jesus name. I glorify your holy name thank you Jesus for setting me free when I got the Holy Ghost 8 years ago and now I’m free in your name Lord.

  9. 11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.

    No change.

What happens when you are filled the Spirit, and then no change takes place? Stagnate Spiritual Death! We see here that from the Youth age on, Moab became stagnate.
It says ,”…neither hath he gone into captivity:…” If you don’t go through some tests in your life. I believe it is safe to say that you are not fighting for the right side. The enemy will not battle those who he already has.
Because there was no change of their hearts or minds, they became stagnate,a statue. And as Pastor so put it,” Move! Because a statue will get pooed on by the pigeons.” The charge is “Move!”

  10. They carved their own path to destruction.

7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.
29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the Lord.

Pride, self reliance, self magnification, arrogance = Destruction. Take warning, we do not do anything, we are no bodies, we can not achieve anything, without Christ Jesus. He is the reason we live, breath, and have our being. We should be thankful every day for His breath of life in our lives, for His word that is life unto our flesh and nourishment to our bones. The moment we start believing we had anything to do with our success, it is the moment we sign our declaration of destruction. May Our Lord keep us humble and submitted to His will by His Love and Mercy. In Jesus Name I pray AMEN.

  11. VANISHED JOY AND VICTORY

33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.

VIctory in JESUS, my savior for ever. These words of a familiar hymn of old, seem more than appropriate here in this passage. Moab has fallen from the grace and favor of GOD and here is the same end result as when we that have known the LORD fall from his grace and favor. There is no flow from our spirit of joy and victory. The reasons are many, however the main reason is found in our disobedience and rebellion against the LORD.

    Consider:
7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

Trusting in the flesh, this world or it’s system is the main reason most people lose their shout of VICTORY and JOY.

10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

Deceitful workers will receive their portion. We may fool the people some of the time but we will never fool the LORD. He sees every move, hears every word and knows every thought. Honesty is the KEY! Repentance is the answer, JESUS is the source to RESTORE JOY and VICTORY in JESUS.

    GUARANTEED VICTORY

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  12. God will hear and humble them, even He Who abides of old–Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!–because in them there has been no change [of heart], and they do not fear, revere, and worship God. (Psalm 55:19 AMP)

In chapter 48 it makes me thankful for the Lord’s faithfulness. He has never given up on us. Even in seasons of our selfishness and sin He finds creative ways to humble us and get our attention. In the end sin will ALWAYS take more than what you thought of giving up.
I put my trust in the Lord for He alone can save me.

What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 31:1 NLT)

  13. 7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

Why trust in the temporary things of this world if our God is eternal. Why trust in our own works if our God is the only way we are able to do them. Cursed its the man that puts his trust in men

  14. On my way to class this morning I found myself humming to the song that says “You hold my world in Your hands.” We must put all of our trust in Jesus, our eternal savior that still has the whole world in His hands; He will never lead us wrong. Sure we might have to climb a few mountains and go over a few bumpy roads but if we were to trust man and our own ways we would only lead ourselves over a cliff and to destruction. Trusting in God and being in His will is the safest place to be.

  15. 42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the Lord.

    Magnify:
1 a : extol, laud b : to cause to be held in greater esteem or respect 2 a : to increase in significance : intensify b : exaggerate 3 : to enlarge in fact or in appearance

    What are you talking about?
The bible says that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Be careful what you think because those thoughts become words. What are you dwelling on? Is it The Lord? His goodness, mercies, provisions? Is it the world and it’s failing government? Is it self and what all you can do? Granted these thoughts cross our minds with many others, but have they taken over? We speak what fills our hearts whether it be The Lords goodness, selfish pride, worry, or anything else. We know that satan wanted to be magnified, or exalted, above God thus the expulsion from heaven. The Pharisees enjoyed the praises of men: Matthew 23:5-6
But all their works they do for to be seen of men:they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,.
They magnified themselves before men and we find that Jesus rebuked them. Moab was destroyed for magnifying itself above God. If we can get ourselves, problems, worried, etc., out of our mind and begin to dwell on God then when we begin to speak we will find that when God is magnified then our troubles are not so big, rather our stinking thinking exaggerated them.
My hope is that we all begin to lift up Jesus in our hearts and minds and then speak about his goodness and watch him take care of his people.
    Psalms 71:8
Let my mouth be filled with thy praise
and with thy honour all the day.

  16. 7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

This is where most of us get into trouble, we trust in our own works and our own treasures. God is calling all of us to trust in Him, not the arm of the flesh and recognize that any treasures we have is because of HIm. “Our” treasures can lead to captivity in our lives. “His” treasures can lead to e leasing s of Goshen.

  17. 33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.

There is sadness in looking at a field that is ready for harvest but there are not any workers that are willing to go out and labor and get a little dirty to try and gather what God has given them.

We must pray and get a burden for the lost because they are waiting for someone to help them find their way to The Lord . If we don’t get them the devil will, with drugs, false doctrine and much more. POFW lets all be in unity and win this city and our family members no matter where they are at.
I am believing God is going to bring my son here and save him and make him a great worker in his kingdom. (Right now he is out in the ocean on an oil rig ), but my God has no boundaries !! Thank you Jesus for the harvest we are going to see!!!

  18. Wow…what can you say with such a Judgement passed by God. Saw a couple things here, and one being please serve God with a sincere heart and with a proper motive view vs. 10. Also, view vs. 28, dwell in the rock, just like how Pastor was talking about on Sunday. But, our Rock Christ Jesus said if we believed in him we would never hunger or thirst. For the water he gives is living waters, and he is the Rock of our salvation, and a solid foundation to stand upon….in Jesus amen.

    “Be blessed”………..

  19. 8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the Lord hath spoken.
We are going to run across people that want to spoil everything we do for the Lord. The sad part is they may be sitting on the pew beside you. God help us not to be a hinderance to what he is trying to do at POFW instead let’s get involved and be a helper not a spoiler.

  20. This chapter illustrates fallacies. They believed and trusted in false gods, which proved to be of no help in their time of need. One is wise to seek out the truth, and the one true God (Jesus); “Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  21. “The strength of Moab has ended. His arm has been broken,” says the Lord. “Let him stagger and fall like a drunkard, for he has rebelled against the Lord. Moab will wallow in his own vomit, ridiculed by all. (Jeremiah 48:25, 26 NLT)
Don’t forget who God is, don’t get so caught up In your own ways, your pride always exalting self, and so in your riches. God is the one that gives. And as we see He is also the one that takes!!!

    • People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices. Haughty eyes, a proud heart, and evil actions are all sin. (Proverbs 21:2-4 NLT)

  22. Suppose you were handed a bouquet of flowers and was told ‘I’ll love you until the last one dies.’ However the person giving you them didn’t tell you that one rose is fake.
The things in this world will all fade and when everything else dies, God will still be there. He will love us until our last breath.

  23. iLove to eat the Word

I found this article interesting… Moab is no more

The country of Moab is on the east side of the Dead Sea, between Edom and Ammon. The origin of the Moabites came from the incestuous union of Lot with his eldest daughter, who bore him a son named Moab (Genesis 19:30-38). 100 Prophecies by George Konig and Ray Konig

100 Prophecies, explains how Bible prophecies have been fulfilled in history. Click for more information.

The first appearance of the name Moab is found inscribed in front of the temple Luxor, 13th century BC. Moses was buried in Moab.

When Israel settled in the new land, the tribes of Reuben and Gad conquered parts of the country of the Amorites that had formerly belonged to Moab. There was constant fighting between Israel and Moab. Saul and David both fought there, and Ehud, one of the Judges, subdued Moab for 80 years (Judges 3:26-30).

But the two countries were also friendly to each other at times, as in the Book of Ruth. Ruth a Moabitess was the great-grandmother of King David. Moab freed itself from Israel’s domination after King Ahab’s death.

Sargon II speaks in his annals of the conquest of Moab and of the Moabite soldiers who later helped the Assyrians in their wars against the Arabs. Moab plundered Judah after it was defeated by Babylon, and later became part of the Babylon and Persian empires.

Many prophets condemned Moab for scoffing and boasting against Israel, and for their pride, arrogance, insolence and worshiping idols.

Today the country known as Moab does not exist, the area that was Moab during Biblical times is now part of Jordan.

  24. I have heard it said many of times ” im waiting on God”. My question is why wait on God when you could be waiting in God. Worship, praise, and pray inspite of any situation. God is waiting for us to get some act in us, He is already put together.

  25. Half committed

10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

Or does the work of the Lord negligently.

This scripture states that the work of the Lord must not be done half-hearted. When we do the Lord’s work, we must be fully committed. The lackadaisical spirit will not please God. He was fully committed to the cause when he died on the cross. He gave everything. Can we do the same?

  26. Chemosh the god of the Moabites was the destroyer god or fish god. The Moabites sacrificed humans to it. The Moabites were related to the Israelites & witnessed many great feats of God but refused to allow him to rule over their lives. Now their destruction is certain and shall no longer be a people. If they escape from the pit, they shall be taken by a snare-no escaping. How many people today know about God & have witnessed great things God has dond but will not let them rule their lives? They wear the garment of the Moabite. These are the souls we must win and they live beside you & me.

  27. “Moab, you trust in the things you do and in your riches. So you too will be conquered. Your god Chemosh will go into exile along with his priests and his officials. -Jeremiah 48:7

The pride and arrogance shown by some will ultimately bring them to judgement. There is none that can save but God, none that can delivery.

So let’s humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and see his salvation.

We can be conquerors, but only by him.

  28. Wholehearted Service

Jeremiah speaks out against the Moabites (Gen19:37 And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.) ,longtime enemies of the Hebrews. Descendants of the son of Lot’s older daughter, the Moabites seduce Israel into idolatry (Numbers 25:1-3). Because Moab relies on its own strength, rather than on the Lord, God orchestrates the nation’s demise under Nebuchadnezzar’s hand (vs7). God has endured enough of Moab’s wicked influence over his chosen people. Jeremiah’s oracle curses those who fall back from carrying out God’s plan to punish the Moabites.

  29. What a disgrace!

25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the Lord.
26 Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the Lord: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the Lord.

Moab’s horn is cut off and it can no longer call for help. It’s horn is broken. The horn was used in battle for the call to fight. It was used to gather people and to sound the alarm for people to worship the Lord. These things will not happen properly if the horn is broken. We could not have had the victory that we received last night Pastor’s horn was broken.

It’s arm is broken. From what I understand the arm in the Bible usually means strength. This means that the strength of Moab was broken. It does not call it the right arm, so it doesn’t mean that it is necessarily the arm of power, but the arm so the strength is broken.

Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! Isaiah 5:22-23

Then it goes on to say that Moab is going to be drunken and wallow in its own vomit. That is pretty nasty. Moab has had so much of the world taken in that it is going to explode out of its stomach and come flowing out of its mouth. Then after all of the nastiness and vile that Moab consumed with its sinful pleasures and not listening to the prophet it will just roll around in its sin. It will think that the ways of the world are all that it should have and it will lay there in its own stench and nastiness of the world until it realizes that God has come to correct all the choices that have been wrongly made.

Disgrace and dishonor come with the cutting of the hair and the shaving/clipping of the beards.

Sorrow is everywhere. Sorrow will be heard from every roof. It will be shouted out loud so that all can hear because of the great disobedience.

    WE MUST OBEY!

  30. Trust

7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

    Philemon 1:9
Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

We lead ourselves into captivity when we put our trust in the temporal. When you think of a prisoner, you realize how much of their life is dictated by the one holding them captive, so why not submit as Paul to be a prisoner of the Lord? When we put our trust in Him, we can surrender our life to the One who gives peace, joy, hope, encouragement, victory, direction, strength, love, abundant life everlasting… A heart captivated by Christ will find a life overflowing with His reality.

    Jeremiah 29:13
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

    Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

  31. 26 Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the Lord: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.

The fastest way to go down.. Seems like the people of moab did not learn what happened to the devil. Desobedient, rebellious and on top of that trying to exalt themselves. Makes you wonder; who were they listening to? What influenced their lives? What spirit ruled them? It certainly was not the Spirit of God. They made themselves God’s enemy and there was nowhere to hide. Their god was self sufficient “I” and what I could do, what I have accomplished, what I know, what I have.. We must know that we are nothing without the Lord Jesus Christ. We exist because of Him and for Him, to give Him glory. Who is like God!!? Why would anyone staid in against Him? Our actions tell God who we are. I come from thr dust, created into His image, for His honor and glory, made to worship…

  32. SANTO!!! SANTO!!! SANTO!!!
7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

    TRUST…….. IN GOD!!!

  33. 21 And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,
22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Bethdiblathaim,
23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmeon,
24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.

    Pride

We see here that pride is very distructive. It destroyed 11 cities.

We must stay humble, leaning not unto our own understanding, but trusting in God. We must proclaim boldly His word, and what He is doing.
