Ezekiel 16

1 Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.

4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.

6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.

7 I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.

8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine.

9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.

10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.

11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.

12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.

13 Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.

14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.

15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.

17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,

18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.

19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord God.

20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,

21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?

22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.

23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord God;)

24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.

25 Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.

26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.

27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.

28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.

29 Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied therewith.

30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;

31 In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;

32 But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!

33 They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.

34 And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.

35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord:

36 Thus saith the Lord God; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;

37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.

38 And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.

39 And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.

40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.

41 And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.

42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord God: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.

44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

45 Thou art thy mother’s daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

47 Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.

48 As I live, saith the Lord God, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.

52 Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

53 When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:

54 That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.

55 When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.

56 For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,

57 Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.

58 Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the Lord.

59 For thus saith the Lord God; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.

62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord:

63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the LordGod.

  1. There is still Mercy!!!!

    63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord God.

    God is saying “You were nothing when I found you, dirty, bloody, and disgusting. I made you who you were, I cleaned you up, dressed you in my finest, adorned you with my jewels and gold and how did you repaid me? Making idols, worshiping them instead of me!!!! I should of know better look around you, look at your family I took you out of that filthiness, but you insist in going back and doing worse than before.” That is probably how He feels every time we go and sin the same sin over and over again. We fail Him, and we continue to fail Him; but He is great in Mercy! He reminds us on verse 60 and tells us that He will establish and everlasting Covenant. That Everlasting Covenant is Christ. He shed His blood so no matter how we fail, the Covenant will not break as long as we apply His blood to our lives over and over again. Thank you Jesus for you are great in Mercy and Grace.

  2. 62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord:

    Is it too much to ask? He just wants them (and us) to know and recognize that He is the Lord and to worship Him only.

  3. Weak Hearted

    Ezekiel 16:30
    How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest — all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;

    The word heart here means the seat of the emotions and will. This is a prime example of someone who stopped fighting. The enemy captured, perverted, and sin caused them to go deeper than they ever thought they would. Deception clouded their eyes as they justified thinking that God approved of their lifestyles. Yet nothing can be hid from God.

    Ezekiel 16:47
    Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations:but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.

    She had gone farther than the world around her. Sin is not joke. The bible says we must protect ourselves.

    Proverbs 4:23
    Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

    The word keep is a verb meaning to guard, to keep, to observe, to preserve, to hide. The word refers to people’s maintaining things entrusted to them, especially to keeping the truths of God in both actions and mind (Ps. 119:100, 115). CWSB

    What goes in must come out. But God has given us the power/ability to overcome.

    2 Peter 1:3
    “Great and Precious Promises”
    According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

    Power is dunamis, or the Holy Ghost!

  4. This chapter made me think of Psalm 100 AMP:

    “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing! Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name! For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.”

  5. iLove to eat the Word

    “Full of pride, full belly, lazy, and don’t outreach.”

    49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

    Wow!

  6. 59 For thus saith the Lord God; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
    60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

    Wow talk about a strong talkin to. No one is perfect ,and yet God us faithful and just to forgive us. We are created to worship God and God alone. Thank God for the blood that washes white as snow.

  7. 62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord59 For thus saith the Lord God; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
    thank you jesus for all you done for us we worship and praise only you jesus we love you

  8. 4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

    This is a very descriptive picture of how we were in sin: naked, bloody, abandoned, and cold. Always remember where God brought you from so you are not tempted to return back to the world.

    Proverbs 26:11
    As a dog returneth to his vomit,
    so a fool returneth to his folly.

    This world has nothing to offer a child of God. This isn’t our home, we are just passing through.

  9. GOD’S COVENANT = JESUS

    63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord God.

    This horrific description of the state of GOD’s people is very humbling to me. When I consider the USA and the moral conditions that are faced daily I am reminded of this passage and the closeness of comparison of the times and conditions that are described here.

    My greatest concern is the fact that the COVENANT described in Ezekiel 16 is the COVENANT of the Blood of JESUS, which we have available NOW and how that even with this incredible act of LOVE, JESUS giving himself on the CROSS we still witness this horrific, fornication, adultery and idolatry in the Church of JESUS today.

    The COVENANT that JESUS made was made with BLOOD and the BLOOD still works, we simply need to apply IT to our lives; heart, mind, soul and spirit. We MUST REPENT and forsake our sinful ways as JESUS became sin for us, and atoned or paid for and erased our sin, by giving us a BLOOD COVENANT.

    Thank you JESUS for your BLOOD!

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  10. 60. Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with the in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant. 61. Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant. 62. And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: 63. That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD. GOD”S EVERLASTING COVENANT

  11. 62 And I will reaffirm my covenant with you, and you will know that I am the Lord. 63 You will remember your sins and cover your mouth in silent shame when I forgive you of all that you have done. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!” (NLT)

  12. This chapter illustrates foundation. They turned away from God (Jesus), the very one that gave them a sure foundation; “And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood”. One would be unwise to forsake the sound foundation maker (Jesus); “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  13. The first part of this chapter (vs.1-15) made me think of how Jesus found us, washed us, cleansed us, and made us his own. We were castaways and filthy in sin, but Jesus found us and cleaned us up, and adopted us into His family. We became new creatures in Christ. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Cor. 5:17.

    Ezekiel 16:15a says, “But thou didst trust in thine own beauty…”

    One thing we must remember is not to become heady, highminded, or think more highly of ourselves then we ought to think, because when we do, this is when we will fall. Romans 12:3 says, “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

    We need to think soberly, and remember Jesus gave his life for us. He’s the one who cleaned us up and made us new creatures in Him. We need to always put our TRUST in the Author and Finisher of our Faith. JESUS!

  14. NLT 43 But first, because you have not remembered your youth but have angered me by doing all these evil things, I will fully repay you for all of your sins, says the Sovereign Lord. For you have added lewd acts to all your detestable sins.

    What a chapter. As children we are innocent, and follow the Lord. We follow our christian parents examples by praying and worshipping. But something happens when we grow as adults, and realize we can make our own decisions. We easily stray away from God, and willfully sin.

    Just thank God for our Christian parents who prayed for us, and trained us in God’s way. We return to God, because the seed of God was planted within us as children.

  15. 30 How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;

  16. 60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

    62 And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord:

    The mercies of The Lord are fresh everyday. He gives us a chance to turn unto him.

    Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. -Isaiah 55:3

  17. This chapter reminds me of the song:

    My heart was distressed ’neath Jehovah’s dread frown,
    And low in the pit where my sins dragged me down;
    I cried to the Lord from the deep miry clay,
    Who tenderly brought me out to golden day.

    Refrain

    He brought me out of the miry clay,
    He set my feet on the Rock to stay;
    He puts a song in my soul today,
    A song of praise, hallelujah!

    He placed me upon the strong Rock by His side,
    My steps were established and here I’ll abide;
    No danger of falling while here I remain,
    But stand by His grace until the crown I gain.

    Refrain

    He gave me a song, ’twas a new song of praise;
    By day and by night its sweet notes I will raise;
    My heart’s overflowing, I’m happy and free.
    I’ll praise my Redeemer, who has rescued me.

    Refrain

    I’ll sing of His wonderful mercy to me,
    I’ll praise Him till all men His goodness shall see;
    I’ll sing of salvation at home and abroad,
    Till many shall hear the truth and trust in God

    I’m so thankful that God chose me to be his child. We are all saved by grace.

  18. How soon we forget our past; where God found us, delivered us from and has brought us to. We didn’t get here on our own. It was by His grace and mercy that He allowed us to find truth. It behooves us to not get us caught up in the blessings and anointing He has placed on our lives, that we forget our past (in the fact of where He delivered us from.) We cannot become prideful, but must stay humble in the sight of God.

  19. 8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine.

    9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.

  20. Wow what a passage of redemption!
    We cannot afford to loose sight of the miry clay that we came from. We are beautiful in his sight but only because he made us that way. We have to give credit and glory to the maker for our successes and our triumphs. All things that are good come from him. He stands alone in righteousness. When we loose sight of who he really is the trouble starts. Without holding fast to who Jesus is we loose sight of everything good in our lives. When we drift away playing our own beauty and self righteousness we are caught in the same sin that got Lucifer riding a lighting bolt out of glory. When your traveling at the speed of light you might want toile sure your pointed toward Jesus and not away from him. This while account is for our awareness of how easily our own vanity can beset us. We cannot turn our backs on what is right and expect God to somehow keep blessing us. If we are truly the missing cherub then we have to reflect the image of God. A mirror though only works one way one way reflects but the other side is black and without luster.

    Jude
    4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
    5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
    6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
    7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
    8 Likewise also these [filthy] dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

    These are treturous times that we live in. Although the enemy attack he is not our biggest concern. We are our own worst enemy.

    Hebrews 12:
    1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
    2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

    Brother Mark Morgan said this

    His Name is greater! And His blood is more powerful!

  21. Great Things

    Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil. I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk. I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck. And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head. Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom. And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God. (Ezekiel 16:9-14 KJV)

    God has done many great things for us. He has saved and rescued us. He has washed us with the blood of Jesus. He has covered us in his royal garments and given us the abilityto get the things he has made with his money. He has anointed us and given us food to eat. He has made others attacked to the Jesus in us and he has made us known among the bretherian. How is he repayed?

    15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

    We have trusted in our gifts and sought after idols. We have exalted ourselves and forsaken God. We have used our fine clothes and jewelry gives by God to attrack the wrong people. We have given our provisions to things of this world. Our anointing is no longer used for God. We desperately seek after the things of the world to give us our own glory.

    God forgive us for our selfcenteredness and keep us focused on you. God help us to stay in your love and to no be waiver by enticements of the world. Help us to stay within your perfect love.

    Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 KJV)

  22. 2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

    more than s anything a man of God should be willing to open his mouth and speak what thus saith the Lord! Good word is true and he is looking for men and woman of God who are not afraid to speak His word.

  23. Remember

    2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

    9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.

    14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.

    It is good to remember where we came from and that it is through Christ that our lives become beautiful. Being honest about our past makes the testimony of today shine and helps us keep in perspective all that God has done for us. We can start to become stagnant when we get isolated in today and don’t keep in mind the testimony of where God brought us from and the vision of where He’s bringing us to.

    2 Timothy 1:5-6 NLT
    5 I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. 6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.

    We must remember and stir up the gift within us, lest we follow the course of Israel and fall after we gain a place of victory and blessing.

  24. From rejection, to LOVE, to sin, to death, and we still serve a merciful GOD!!!!

    “But I came by and saw you there, helplessly kicking about in your own blood. As you lay there, I said, ‘Live!’ (Ezekiel 16:6 NLT)
    We know that the wages of sin is death, but we must also remember the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus. Jesus is LOVE!!
    For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: (Exodus 34:14 KJV)
    His love for me is and always has been unconditional, so why put anything or anyone else in front of Him.

    Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 John 2:15 KJV)

  25. God wants our heart and our attention. For many, that is asking too much. How is showing respect and worship to the person who made you and gave you life to much? I want to live my life to the fullest with worship for Him!

  26. But you trusted in and relied on your own beauty and were unfaithful to God and played the harlot [in idolatry] because of your renown, and you poured out your fornications upon anyone who passed by [as you worshiped the idols of every nation which prevailed over you] and your beauty was his. (Ezekiel 16:15 AMP)

    These verse has given me this thought- is after God has pulled us out of sin and has given us the gift of Holy Ghost if we trust and rely on ourselves instead of God, we become faithless and commit idolatry by making ourselves a god. Jesus is all we need. We are complete in him. We must honor Him and bring Him glory living the life He has set for us.

    Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 AMP)

  27. Reap and Sew

    59 For thus saith the Lord God; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

    60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

    Gal 6:7 ESV: Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Matt 7:2 ESV For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

    God will deal with us according to the actions we live by.

  28. 6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.

    Sometimes we all need a reminder of where the Lord picked us up from and what state we were in. All I can say is that I’m grateful. Lord remind me who I am..

  29. Jerusalem

    Ezekiel allegorically describes Jerusalem as a woman. She is born of pagan parents- Jerusalem was orginally settled by pagan nations. The pagan nations that lived there before Abraham was promised it. She is dressed and taken care of as a young groom would take care of his bride- David conquered Jerusalem and made it his capital, fashioning it into a beautiful and major city of the Near East. Solomon continued that beautification project, using enormous ammounts of gold and silver. Jerusalem, however, comes to depend on her beauty rather than God- her people turned to idols and turned away from God. For that Ezekiel charges her with the crime of prostitution, she has used all that God has given her for her own glory and pleasure rather than for his.

    How easy it is to draw a clear lesson for today from such a passage! We too have been “bought at a price” (1 Co 7:23), freed from our “pagan” roots, made to glorify God. We can either use what he’s given us to honor him, or we can go our own way into selfishness and corruption.

  30. 19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord God.

    We have use & misuse. God Grace and mercy and talents to turn around and use it for the wrong reasons to the wrong thanks.
