Ezekiel 22

1 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.

3 Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord God, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.

4 Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.

5 Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.

6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.

7 In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.

8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

9 In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.

10 In thee have they discovered their fathers’ nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.

11 And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.

12 In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God.

13 Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.

14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the Lord have spoken it, and will do it.

15 And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

16 And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

17 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.

19 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

20 As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.

21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst therof.

22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the Lord have poured out my fury upon you.

23 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

24 Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.

25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.

26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.

28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord hath not spoken.

29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.

30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.

  1. A prayer of INTERCESSION!!!!!

30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Who will stand in the gap and pray for Mercy and Grace??? Our city is crying from the deepest parts for someone who will come and stand in the gap and Pray and Intercede for them. I can hear their cry. I can feel their pain. I see their desperation in every face. Nothing fills them anymore. Nothing seems to give them peace. We need to go, to the highways, and the streets and compelled them to come. Like Philip, he did not convinced Nathanael to go see Jesus; he just took him, he wanted him to go see for himself. He knew that once in the presence of Jesus, he could not help himself, and could not do anything else but surrender to the King of kings and Lord of lords. Lets just bring them, let them experience Jesus for themselves. Lets stand in the gap, lets pray for them, lets lend a helping hand, lets show Jesus love through our actions, and bring them to God. In Jesus Name AMEN.

  2. A Prayer of Intercession

30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

God is looking for someone to stand in the gap for those lost in our city. I can hear their cry. I can feel their pain. I can see their desperation in their faces. Nothing fills them anymore. Nothing gives them peace. We need to stand and intercede in prayer first, so their hearts will soften so they may feel the Lord togging in their heart. We need to GO to the highways and compelled them to come. Philip did not argue with Nathanael, he did not try to convince him to go see Jesus; he just took him. He knew that Nathanael will not believe him, that he needed to see for himself. He knew that once in the presence of the Lord of lords and King of kings, Nathanael will surrender to Jesus. He knew Jesus power, love, mercy, grace, and peace will reach Nathanael’s heart. That is what we at POFW need to do. Just bring them, compelled them to come. Reach them with Jesus love, mercy, grace, and peace through our actions. Through the warm touch when they feel desperate and anxious. Through the loving touch when they feel unloved and abandoned. Through His mercy and grace when they feel unforgivable. Through His Love when they feel unlovable. Let Christ shine through you in EVERYTHING you do. In Jesus Name AMEN.

  3. 26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

We are to treat holy things different than everything else. We don’t treat the sanctuary like our living room, or the things in the church like they are in some old basement somewhere, or the man of God like some random stranger. These have been dedicated to God, and to treat them any different makes Him angry.

  4. Verses 26-30 CEV “The priests of Israel ignore my Law! Not only do they refuse to respect any of my sacred things, but they don’t even teach the difference between what is sacred and what is ordinary, or between what is clean and what is unclean. They treat my Sabbath like any other day, and so my own people no longer honor me. Israel’s officials are like ferocious wolves, ripping their victims apart. They make a dishonest living by injuring and killing people. And then the prophets in Israel cover up these sins by giving false visions. I have never spoken to them, but they lie and say they have a message from me. The people themselves cheat and rob; they abuse the poor and take advantage of foreigners. I looked for someone to defend the city and to protect it from my anger, as well as to stop me from destroying it. But I found no one.” This reminded me of what Pastor spoke about last night….we have to know this doctrine. We have to know the Word for ourselves; otherwise, you may be fooled by false teachings.

  5. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

    SOUGHT OUT

I like the sound of this God sought for a man. This means God was looking for some in that day to do a job. He had something of importance that required a special person for a special time.
God is always looking for special people even in this day. If we are looking for something to do believe me there is something to do. I am thankful that God is always looking for a way to give man a chance.
God was looking for someone to stand in the gap and make up the hedge! Someone with enough prayer life to make a difference. Could this be you?
I wonder what are we going to do about our chance to do something for God? Pray for us that we can stand up and be what God wants us to be for POFW in this hour. I believe God sent us here for such A time as this. Now it is up to us to be what God wants us to be.

  6. iLove to eat the Word

Very powerful Blog this morning. The following verse sounds like our culture today.

7 In thee have they set light by father and mother: The Amplified Version says it like this, “In you have they treated father and mother lightly.”

Today’s culture continually attempts to make light of parents and tries to make the youth appear smarter and brighter. Be not deceived, God is not sitting in heaven watching his flat screen jumbo tron laughing at sitcoms of youth mocking their parents, but he takes it very serious.

We must put a difference between the Holy and the unholy!

  7. Separation

    Ezekiel 22:26 NLT
Your priests have violated my instructions and defiled my holy things. They make no distinction between what is holy and what is not. And they do not teach my people the difference between what is ceremonially clean and unclean. They disregard my Sabbath days so that I am dishonored among them.

Why do we have to dress like that? Why can’t we go there? Why can’t we say that?

These are questions that have challenged people of God. Yet these questions reveal a lack of understanding about separation.

Jesus cries emphatically throughout the word.
    Leviticus 20:26
And ye shall be holy unto me:for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

Outward, and inward holiness is not a collection of rules, but rather the result of relationship. When we grow closer to God we become more like him. The rules, and regulations fade away as understanding comes.

At the CWSB puts it “Stop being molded by the external and fleeting fashions of this age, but undergo a deep inner change [metamorphousthe {G3339 }] by the qualitative renewing [anakainosei {G0341 }] of your mind.”

Conformity is a process. Molding is a process. What we subject ourselves to we become like. Holiness is about God not us.

    1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

THAT WE SHOULD SO FORTH THE PRAISES OF HIM

We cannot show forth the praises of him, shine his light, spread his word, and draw people to him when we look like the world, act like the world, and do what the world does.

    Why?

Because we are representatives of the Kingdom. However we act tells others this is how the King acts. We are emissaries.

An emissary is a person who is sent on a mission to represent another person or organization.

If we look like the world we offer the world. The world can’t save. If we are full of self we offer self. Self can’t save. Yet if we look like Jesus we offer Jesus. Jesus saves!

  8. Into the fire
Sometimes we are put in the fire just like being sifted. God uses these methods to cleanse our lives from things. Different people walk through different fires.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. (Daniel 3:16, 17, 19-21, 24, 25 KJV)

Pray, keep the faith, pray on!

  9. Her priest have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

It amazes me to see parents let their kids run in the sanctuary or play on the platform. The platform is a holy place not a playground. We need to respect the sanctuary and the platform. We also need to respect the house of God and not sit there on the pew and drink water or whatever. If we do it our kids will want to do it and then our kids are not gonna have respect for the church. Watch how you/I treat the church our kids are watching.

  10. SANTO SANTO SANTO!!!!
31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.
WHAT WOULD BE MY WAY (my recompence)???
SANTO SANTO SANTO,!!! Help me DADDY!!! JESUS YOU ARE AWESOME AND MIGHTY THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU!!! HALELUJAH ,!!!

  11. 12 In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God.
13 Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.

Personal gain is no gain, but of more flesh. When we have had the idea to “get back” at someone, who do we hurt. Yes it is that person, but it is also the people around them and the people around us and even ourselves. Personal gain is no more than gaining more flesh. Be incorruptible in all your ways. A honest person, of good report, will go futher in the long run. A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches. My father said this statement quite often. I did not understand it until I became older. It is very true. Have a good report.

  12. When you buy a car brand new, fresh off the lot you treat it with care and respect. Where as if you were to buy a used car with many miles on it you wouldn’t be so careful with it.
God expects us to treat His anointed and His home with the utmost respect.

  13. 14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the Lord have spoken it, and will do it.

We hear all the time “God’s not going to bring you some where he can’t bring you out of” and that’s true, and it’s easy to believe when everything is going good and even when we face little trials.. But in the times that he really deals with us, in the times that it feels our whole world is falling apart that’s the Rhine it matters the most. That’s when our faith is really being tested to the fullest. Will we endure? Will we be strong and trust what God has promised us will come to pass? Or will we give up… Because that’s the easiest thing to do. We must endure and be strong because our reward is eternal.

  14. 8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

WOW!!! How many times do we see people doing these very things? Not just people that are lost in sin, but people professing to be christians too. Even look at all the supporters of Holly Wood, that spend their money on watching these things on “the big screen”, or at home. Just because the person isn’t physically doing these lewd acts, they think that they are free on the sin. WRONG!!!

Jesus said that if we love him, we would keep his commands. Jesus also said that if we do not keep his commands, we are not even his disciples.

As the body of Christ, we are to keep His holy things, and keep His Sabbaths. Remember it is only by His grace and mercies that we haven’t faced judgement yet.

  15. 8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

    WOW!!!
What a powerful thought. Many that are professing to be Christians today, either participate themselves, or support others who do these very acts, by watching movies or videos, every day. That is a scary thought.

Jesus said we cannot be his disciple if we do not keep his commands. Jesus said that if we love him we would keep his commands. Paul stated that whatever is pure, holy, good, that that is what we should focus on and talk about.

  16. 8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.
9 In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.
10 In thee have they discovered their fathers’ nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.11 And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.
12 In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God.

    WOW!!!
thank you jesus for who you turned me to be lord I love who I am and I thank you for changing me from what I was to now lord I pray that I keep going in your path and be stronger in the word and more like you I love you jesus thank you ❤

  17. 22:23-31 In a veritable catalog of the nation’s sins, every guilty party is singled out for judgment: the false prophets who
have devoured souls(v.25); the priests who have violated my law(v.26); the princes who are like wolves ravening the prey(v.27); and the people who have used oppression and exercised robbery(v.29). No one will be left out of the judgemenr. In one of the saddest verses in the book, the Lord Himself confesses that He found no one who could stand in the gap, to stem the tide that would inevitably bring destruction(v.30).

  18. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

This reminds me of Sodom and Gomorrah and Abraham interceding for his nephew Lord and his wife. The Lord was willing to spare the city because Abraham stood in the gap. Although the city was not spared, Abraham’s nephew Lot was.

Our world is in much the same shape as we read about in these chapters. Are we willing to standing the gap and intercede to the Lord for those around in steep in sin? Who will go to the streets for them? Who will pray for them? Who will intercede once they come to the knowledge of truth until they grow up and mature in the spirit?

As Holy Ghost filled, water baptized in JESUS name, we have been
commissioned by the Lord to “Go” (Matt 28:19). We must be obedient. We must reach, we must pray, we must intercede that God does not destroy our city before we have the opportunity to tell them about His saving grace.

  19. 8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.

The things that are holy to God should not become commonplace with us. We should approach those things with a reverence.

  20. FROM APPLE TO DUNG AND FROM PRECIOUS TO DROSS

17 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.

What a dreadful thought that causes a people to go from the LORD’s portion to the LORD’s dross. Included below are the words the LORD spoke over Israel in the days he called them and chose them. As we compare the words and thoughts of the LORD in Deuteronomy to the words in Ezekiel there is a very sad comparison of how the favored have fallen.

Deuteronomy 32:9 For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

We must take heed and allow this to be an ensemble to us about:

    1. How much GOD loves his people and gives us grace (undeserved favor) when he chooses us.

    2. GOD will execute his WORD above everything and anything we do.

    3. Our submission and obedience to GOD, HIS WORD and HIS Leaders will define and determine our destiny.

    4. GOD will execute judgment when that time comes.

I pray we all seek the LORD with our whole heart and follow the LORD wholly that we may be found worthy to be called by HIS great name and included in HIS eternal BLESSING!

  22. Hearing only what you want to hear

28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord hath not spoken.

The false prophets were claiming to speak the words of the Lord when the Lord had not spoken. They spoke of peace and prosperity in the midst of a sin filled nation. We see this today in mainstream religion. We have to stand the gap and prayer for them to be exposed to the truth.

  23. Vs.7, “In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.”
Vs. 8, “Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.”

A scripture came to mind as I was reading this.
James 1:27, “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

  24. 14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the Lord have spoken it, and will do it.

  25. 26 Her priests have done violence to My law and have profaned My holy things. They have made no distinction between the sacred and the secular, neither have they taught people the difference between the unclean and the clean and have hid their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. (AMP)

There must be a distinction between right and wrong, and we should be the example of it. Others should be able to look at us and say that is a child of God, that is someone who can help me. If we don’t make the distinction we just blend in, then what? Is there any distinction of good if we don’t keep God’s commandments and follow them?

26 You must be holy because I, the Lord, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own. (NLT)

  26. Her priests have done violence to My law and have profaned My holy things. They have made no distinction between the sacred and the secular, neither have they taught people the difference between the unclean and the clean and have hid their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. (Ezekiel 22:26 AMP)

We are to be set apart. We should be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. [Exod. 19:5, 6.] Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy. [Hos. 2:23.] Beloved, I implore you as aliens and strangers and exiles [in this world] to abstain from the sensual urges (the evil desires, the passions of the flesh, your lower nature) that wage war against the soul. Conduct yourselves properly (honorably, righteously) among the Gentiles, so that, although they may slander you as evildoers, [yet] they may by witnessing your good deeds [come to] glorify God in the day of inspection [when God shall look upon you wanderers as a pastor or shepherd looks over his flock]. (1 Peter 2:9-12 AMP)

  27. This chapter illustrates abandonment. They abandoned God (Jesus); “Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries”. One would be unwise not to recognize the hour in which one lives, and heed the word of God (Jesus); “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  28. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

What a testimony. That The Lord look for someone among those that should have been recognized as his children. God always has a plan, he is never caught off guard.

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, -Galatians 4:4

Through his grace we have an opportunity to escape the wrath of God and the punishment of sin.

    Thank God for Grace!

  29. 14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the Lord have spoken it, and will do it.

  30. 23. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying , 24. Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. 25. There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. 26. Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27. Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. 28. And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the Lord hath not spoken. 29 . The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. 30. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it

; but I found none. 31. Therefore have iI poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

  31. Will We Believe?

30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

God listed the many grevious sins of Israel, then plainly said He sought for an intercessor that He might turn away His wrath. I wondered, Why did He not find one? Here’s Ezekiel, wouldn’t he have responded? Then I realized how the frailty of humanity may have crippled Israel’s intercessors: it may not have been that there were none who could have interceded but rather there may have been none with faith to believe God’s wrath could be turned away.

How many times have we found ourselves dealing with our sin and battled thoughts of “I’ve really messed it up this time, I’m not sure if God will forgive me, how could He still love me?” Perhaps that was the despair of Israel’s intercessors. But the fact that God said He looked for intercessors gives us hope that while it may be bad, but God desires reconciliation more than wrath to fall on us.

The question is, will we believe? Will we believe in God’s love and mercy and grace? Will we believe enough to not accept condemnation for ourselves or others? Will we believe that we might be intercessors and stand firm upon the Word?

    2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

  32. Stand in the Gap

30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.

When the Israelites disobey God in the desert, and worship a golden calf, God determines that He will destroy them. Moses quickly “stands in the gap” and begs God to reconsider. When God sees Moses’ faithfulness, he relents (Ex 32:9-14). Now God is again looking for a prophet/leader for the Israelites, a righteous leader who will lead his people to repentance and true faith in God, a faithful follower of God who will intercede before the Almighty on their behalf. Unfortunately, no one can be found. All of the leaders of Israel are corrupt and rebellious. So a sad pronunciation of judgment follows: God “will pour out [His] wrath” and “consume” the people (Eze 22:31). There is no longer any hope of a reprieve. Who “stands in the gap” for our country? Our churches? Our communities? Our families? God is still looking for faithful leaders to stand and intercede before Him, leaders who will call people to a faithful way of life through following our faithful God.

  33. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Where are the intercessors? Where are those that pray?..could be the words rephrased from that verse. After all the destruction that the Lord is planing against his people and warning after warning in his mind, he was probably saying isn’t anyone gonna stand in the gap and pray? Anyone with enough faith that will cry out to God? Moses did it, Abraham interceded as well. Now this goes great with the Sunday teachings from pastor about prayer. We do we stand as a church? Winning this city could be one prayer away…who will stand in the gap and plead for the souls?

  34. 14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the Lord have spoken it, and will do it.

If God said it, he will do it. If he spoke it, it shall come to past. God’s word is forever established in heaven.

  35. 14 How strong and courageous will you be in my day of reckoning? I, the LORD,have spoken, and I will do what I said.
we will be stronger and courages in the Lord!

  36. 26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

We offend God by doing wrong and claiming it to be right. Think before you do, think before you say… It may be your last words or actions that set you apart
