Ezekiel 25

1 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;

3 And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

4 Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.

5 And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couching place for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

6 For thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;

7 Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

8 Thus saith the Lord God; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the heathen;

9 Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim,

10 Unto the men of the east with the Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.

11 And I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

12 Thus saith the Lord God; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;

13 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.

14 And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord God.

15 Thus saith the Lord God; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.

17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

  1. Ever wondered why we make it a point to pray for Israel, as a church body, every time we pray? These only laughed against Israel and God decided to wipe them off the map…

    6 For thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;

    7 Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

    Ezekiel 25:6-7 MSG
    “God, the Master, says, Because you clapped and cheered, venting all your malicious contempt against the land of Israel, I’ll step in and hand you out as loot—first come, first served. I’ll cross you off the roster of nations. There’ll be nothing left of you. And you’ll realize that I am God.”

  2. In this chapter, the first words that stuck out to me in the MSG version was “Listen to the Message of God” in the NLT it says “Hear the word of the Sovereign Lord”. I can’t help but wonder “What if???” If they only would have stopped and really listened to all the signs/warnings. I pray Lord that my ears always be keen to your Word and your instruction.

    This chapter also reminded me that God is in control of all things and we are not to take things in our own hands; but, rather leave everything to the Lord. Romans 12:19 MSG says “Don’t hit back; discover beauty in everyone. If you’ve got it in you, get along with everybody. Don’t insist on getting even; that’s not for you to do. “I’ll do the judging,” says God. “I’ll take care of it.””

  3. Love of a Father.

    I Love my Heavenly Father with all my heart. In this chapter, God is showing the rest of the world that although His children of Israel missed behaved He loves them. He is saying I might of chastised my children, but they are still mine, and no impious people like you are going to make fun of them. You want to kick them when they are down, well, here is to you. Watch as I unleash my fatherly fury over you. I will give you what you deserve. For I am the LORD of Israel. Praise Be To God!!!!! Israel is and always will be the apple of His eyes. So very thankful for a Pastor that recognize the need to pray for the peace in Israel. Lets never forget for those who are against Israel will eventually pay, for vengeance is mine says the Lord.

  4. ILove to eat the Word

    Be careful not to talk about folks

    And say unto the Ammonites, † Hear the word of the Lord GOD ; Thus saith the Lord GOD ; Because thou saidst , Aha , against my sanctuary , when it was profaned ; and against the land of Israel , when it was desolate ; and against the house of Judah , when they went into captivity ;

    The sanctuary was defiled and the Ammonites mocked. Today, our bodies are the temple and God forbid if someone falls into sin that we would mock them.

  5. 17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

    Although God allowed many to come against Israel, because their hearts weren’t right, He returned vengeance upon them…

  6. Although God was angry at Israel, he would punish those who would try to destroy it. Just as a parent would. No matter how upset a parent gets, a good parent will fight for their children when the time comes. Thank you Jesus that our Heavenly Father fights for us.

  7. JUDGEMENT ORACLES
    Each follows the same pattern. Ther is a introduction an indictment and a verdicment and a verdict. The basis of the judgment on nearby nations is found in Gen 12-3 which warnes that those who curse Abrahams descendants will be cursed by God.

  8. This chapter illustrates hazardous. They discovered how unwise their actions were. It is very unwise and hazardous to do, or even think adversely towards God’s (Jesus); “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God”. What a mighty God we serve! May the good Lord Bless you all in Jesus name, Amen

  9. 2 Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;

    3 And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

    BE CAREFUL TO SPEAK AGAINST GOD

    God told Ezekiel to prophesy against the Ammonites because they said Aha against the sanctuary of God. It is never wise to speak or come out against God or his people. These people actually was saying I knew this would happen after a time. I knew it was only a matter of time!!
    I pray God help us to never become complacent in the House of God or any of the things of God. Keep me Lord in your ways and in your paths.

  10. REVENGE

    15 Thus saith the Lord God; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;

    REVENGE is a natural instinct of this world and the sinful nature that rules it. However the LORD said;

    Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

    The greatest spur for vengeance is that it appears that someone is getting away with doing something wrong, that a hurt is going unrecognized, that a calamity is going unnoticed, we want the world to know that we have been wronged and we want the offender to PAY and we want them to pay NOW and we want to see it and even help execute that judgment.

    GOD in HIS wisdom uses these situations to teach us, to temper us, to build our FAITH in HIM. It all comes down to HOW much FAITH do I have in JESUS? HOW much do I TRUST HIS WORD. We read in Romans 19 that the LORD will repay if we will let HIM.

    Fret not that the evil doer will not get away with anything.

    Proverbs 24:20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man;

    Thank you JESUS for your promises and protection.

  11. 6 “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because you clapped and danced and cheered with glee at the destruction of my people,
    7 I will raise my fist of judgment against you. I will give you as plunder to many nations. I will cut you off from being a nation and destroy you completely. Then you will know that I am the Lord. (NLT)

    I thought of that saying that says, “what goes around, comes around.” God will have his revenge for those who mock His people. And for those who may be the ones being mocked, God will have his vengeance for you. Do not try and take judgment into your own hands, you will only end up in a worse state than the one who mocked you.

  12. 3 And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

    Whenever you see a child of God in trouble you might not want to point your finger at them and accuse. God deals with his children the way he sees fit. Who are we to judge them because they are going through something. This is the devils game ( accuser of the brethren ). We all fall short of the glory of God in different ways. Just because you got it all together in the part of life that you see your brother struggling doesn’t give you the right to judge him. We have to understand that in a church we are all different but in ones weakness another should be strong and in unity we shall prevail. The gates of hell shall not prevail against a real church. A real church is united.
    My prayer is that God baptize us with grace one toward another and give us the spirit of unity to do Gods will.
    United we stand
    Divided we fall

  13. Our storm is out of our control. Don’t take lead on it and try to fight, give it to God! It’s not out job to fight a battle that’s already been won!

  14. 17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

  15. Are you really God?

    17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

    Some people are confused as to who God really is. They may get God confused with a person or thing. They might even be led down a wrong path to a fake god. God can always show himself might. It might be through his grace and mercy and it also might be through his great wrath. In the case of the scripture today it is through his wrath.

    God help us to stay focused in you through the distractions around us so that we continue to know you are God. Let us never stop believing in you and how mighty you are, in Jesus name! AMEN!

  16. 12. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that E’-dom hath dealt against the house of Ju’ -dah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them; 13. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will will also stretch out mine hand upon E’ – dom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Te’-man; and they of De’-danshall fall by the sword. 14. And I will lay my vengeance upon E’-dom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD. The Judgement on Edom

  17. I’n these chapters we continue to see God’s judgment against the people. God is fed up with the rebellion is fed up with disobedience and fed up with their idolatry. it reminds me of the man of God sermon tonight either we can fall to the ground and let God take over our lives are we can live in rebellion and see the judgment. I choose to serve the Lord

  18. HALELUJAH!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!

And you’ll realize that I am God17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

    thank you jesus for putting people in my life to push me into doing things I never thought I could achieve without your helping hand your unconditional love that’s allways had me straped down your beautiful presence always surrounding me everywere I go lord your mighty and I pray that you keep me in your presence always lord I never wonna leave you side because of you I know I can do anything and because of you,youve giving me the power to go for everything your like the sun always watching over us I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!! so much

  20. No Other Name

    17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

    Even while Israel was in a fallen state, God took note of those who did them wrong. In this chapter He pronounces judgement on those who rose up against Israel and took advantage of them. When we go through the new birth process and take on the name of Christ, we become His children. When we examine the story of the prodigal son, we see God’s heart for the backslider and how even while the prodigal son was away, he was still a son. It is something special to be a child of God.

    There is no other name like the name of Jesus, and no other name by which we must be saved; why would those who are eternally marked by that name be no different from others? God proclaimed that those who did His people wrong would know that He is God when He brought vengeance upon them; how much more as His children should we know Him, being marked with His name?

    It can be easy to get caught up in “corporate relationship” with Him that we miss personal relationship: He’s God at church, God when others have needs, God when it comes to reaching our city, God in general, but do we know Him as God to us? Is He our Abba Father or just by title, “Heavenly Father?” There is no other name like the name of Jesus, but it’s about more than a name, it’s about who He is. We shouldn’t stop at just taking on the Name but should seek to take on greater personal knowledge of and relationship with Him.

    2 Peter 3:18 AMP
    But grow in grace (undeserved favor, spiritual strength) and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (the Messiah). To Him [be] glory (honor, majesty, and splendor) both now and to the day of eternity. Amen (so be it)!

  21. We see Ezekiel prophesying vengeance of the people who laughed at the calamity of others and mocked with Judah (praise) was devastated. We must take heed to be careful how we respond to situations so that we don’t cause the Lord to take vegenence against us.

  22. 17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

    What love and care the Lord shows for His people. It’s like His blood stired up as other started mocking Israel. A Grear loving father. He chastises because He loves, but others out of but when others out of evil and hate rejoice the Lord steps in. Israel are His chosen people and we should pray for her protection and bless them.. I am reminded of this words, “I will bless those that bless thee, and I will curse those that course thee…”

  23. Don’t Mock the people of God

    1 The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,

    2 Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;

    3 And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

    4 Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.

    It is never a good idea to laugh at those who have the Holy Ghost and fall or mess up. If you find yourself saying, they got what they deserve, just remember that you will be judge with the same measure of mercy that you give. Matt 7:2

  24. 6 For thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;
    7 Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

    There is victory in your praise. The devil knows he is defeated when even through your trials you praise and bless God for all He has done. He will provide!

    iPraise

  25. Inbreds, Immagrants, and Inheritance wasters oh my!

    Ammon and Moab are both the inbred sons of Lot. Edomites are spawn of Essau, the overly dramatic twin son who sold his birthright for a bowl of lentil soup. Philistia are the immagrants, descendants of Mizraim who immigrated from Caphtor (Crete?) to the western seacoast of Canaan. Their are only two punishments, wrath/vengeance (Edom and Philistia) or to be given as a possesion (Ammon and Moab). Today Jesus will break us down too. When we are off His path we are subject to the wrath of judgments ticking time bomb. Under His hedge of protection we will find refuge, the commands we break will cost us.
